Negative experience: Terrible, very expensive for the facilities it has, especially the showers and changing rooms. Be very careful with the flexible rate, because once you cancel your membership, they continue charging you for another month, something that no one tells you about when you sign up, of course. One of the worst gyms I have ever been to.

Negative experience: Terrible. Unlike the crook log leisure centre which can change depth from 1m-1.4m, leisurely swimming is in the children’s pool which is 0.6m - completely unswimmable for adults. Upon flagging this to the lifeguard, I was told I could do a lap? Surely it’s dangerous to swim in such shallow water. Called the centre after and they were super disinterested in my concerns. I ended up leaving and actually had a lovely swim at crook log. Would recommend going there instead for free parking and a hugely better experience than this gym! Reviews below seem to echo the same thing. Give it a huge miss! The response below totally shows the lack of acknowledgement and validation of this issue…

Negative experience: Had a swimming session today, spent more than 30 mins with my 7 year old in the 1.4m part of the pool to be told 5 mins before session ended that my daughter is not a strong enough swimmer to be there even though a adult is with her teaching her how to swim. The life guard was rude about it and also asked another parent the same thing. Like he has seen us for 30mins prior to being asked. I take it he dont like his job. I teach intense swimming lessons at greenwich for 10 year olds, which i explained and proved that by showing my digital qualifications and staff pass. I will never use sidcup pool again. There was 3 guards over looking the pool and the other 2 said nothing, when i spome to the younger guard he said he see me and had no issues with me being in the 1.4m again showed him what i do. Appalling from the guard, i can assure that i will be telling clients not to use sidcup pool.

Negative experience: children signed up to swimming lessons, which are average but as of recently i am being hounded on a daily basis to sign up to further memberships, after repeatedly asking to be removed from the sales lists, I receive voicemails and calls almost daily. Debating cancelling the memberships as it is constant. I do not wish to waste my time submitting a form to ask you to stop calling me, you are wasting my time and have since called and left two more voicemails. I do not want any further sales calls, you have my name take me off of your call lists and stop leaving me voicemails. Perhaps you are struggling with new gyms opening in the area but i do not wish to take out a gym membership for either myself or my teen! LEAVE ME ALONE.

Negative experience: A front counter worker called Lisa or Sylvia I’m pretty sure — she was blonde — she was SUPER rude!!! I asked her if I could book a slot for swimming and I already had a membership and she had a very bad attitude and sounded annoyed by this — she then told me to book it online next time with a rude tone. Please improve your customer service and get someone to replace Lisa. I will not be coming back here due to the rudeness of the staff. UPDATE: The name was LISA

Fantastic experience: Quite nice building and equipment here. It has a very spacious infant/toddler pool. The cafe on premise is also quite good with a very good range of food and drinks.

Negative experience: Well equipped and clean gym and nice and helpful staff. However there is a serious inconvenience for members and that is the ANPR paid parking for the gym. Even if you are a member, you have to pay for parking even on Saturday. This is very unfair. The gym parking must be free for members at least. If you forget, you get slapped with a big fine. Running around with kids classes in the gym multiple times a week, it's easy for parents to forget to pay for parking and have now been fined multiple times even though we are a PAID member of the gym and separately PAY for kid classes. Very unfair & huge disappointment that Gym management have not addressed this obvious inconvenience for gym members
Hi O, thank you for your positive comments about the gym and staff. We're sorry to hear that you have received a PCN whilst using the Car Park at Sidcup Leisure Centre. We appreciate customers' frustrations at having to pay to park during their visits to the Centre and we are always looking at alternatives for members, but there are no plans to introduce alternative parking methods at present. We will of course take your comments and feedback on board to review in the future.
Negative experience: This organisation remains a problem and is not reasonable and extremely unfair to a reasonable approach. DO NOT ENTERTAIN A YEARLY MEMBERSHIP UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Be very careful if you are thinking of signing up to the Gym membership. My daughter signed up for this in August and now is finding it hard with all her other outgoings to afford £47 a month. Lex Leisure who claim to be a Community Interest Company have refused to release her from the 12 month agreement. They want sight of a notice of dismissal from employment and bank statements to evidence a reduction in salary or other proof such as HMRC evidence concerning income reduction. Most companies say if you find you struggling then come to us don't just bury your head in the sand. She is still working but with everything else going up in price decisions have to be made about priorities. The membership was taken out in good faith. MY SUGGESTION IS AVOID SIGNING UP FOR A FIXED GYM MEMBERSHIP AT SIDCUP LEISURE CENTRE . LEX LEISURE CIC EXTREMELY UNREASONABLE. January 2024 - They have still maintained the position that regardless of being unreasonable she must continue to pay almost £50 a month until August 2024 . Recommend do not sign up for this annual membership

We do offer both a fixed (12 month contract) and flexi membership (one month canx notice) - if the customer decides to opt with a fixed membership they do agree to the terms and conditions which clearly states it is a 12 month contract. We also offer the option for members to freeze their membership for up to six months for a small fee of £5 per month and as you have mentioned early cancellation with proof may be accepted. Fantastic experience: Lovely Leisure Centre. Helpful friendly receptionists. I mainly do aerobics, pilates & yoga & all the classes have great instructors. Negative experience: Used this place for years as part of a club I attended. The staff were always really unhelpful, would ignore you when you just wanted to be let through the gates. The cleanliness of the downstairs changing room was frequently bad. One time I went to hang my top on one of the hooks and noticed that some little chav had cleaned the dog muck from his shoe (I presume) onto the hook. Reported it but was shocked to find it still there a week later. Disgusting.

Negative experience: We have been going to swimming pool in Sidcup Leisure Centre for a few years on and off and now with young kids we go swimming every week. It’s a nice local place to teach kids how to swim but cleanliness standard is below zero! Changing rooms are smelly and dirty, and I wouldn’t put my foot on the floor without cover! During one of the kids session in the teaching pool one for the toddlers vomited and lifeguard didn’t even move! Completely ignored this and allowed other people to stay in the pool! Disgusting! I’m not sure what management is doing but this must change, cleanliness and higieny should be the top priority for such place.

Negative experience: Pool is ok for small children. 1 hour sessions that need a booking prior to arrival. The teaching pool has about 30 places available which does mean it’s rammed when all places are taken. Unfortunately there is a man on the front desk who is incredibly rude, patronising and unhelpful every time we come. Makes the experience quite unpleasant especially when you are trying to deal with a toddler at the same time as checking in. He has no patience. If you can go to somewhere else Crook Log centre I would avoid Sidcup just to avoid this unpleasant man.

Positive experience: Good gym equipment though one or two bits needs tweaking. Lots of space, lots of classes, a bit pricey per month but you can go in ad hoc

Negative experience: A good gym and facilities but if you want to drive and park then it will cost you another £20 a month. If you want to swim you can only do it at midday or 9pm (so basically never for a working person)

Fantastic experience: My girls goes to Sidcup swiming classes even though we live closer to Crook Log . We love whole center,all staff are so friendly. My girls teacher is Nikki. She is sooo professional,my girls are able to swim in less then 2 month. I am agree with some reviewers about waiting area to be ttoo hot. I cant seat and watch them ,it is too hot. But it doesnt take star off from all lovely staff.

Positive experience: Use to come here on regular basis as a whole this is a decent centre and don't get too crowded. Monthly memberships however are overpriced unfortunately this is the same for most memberships these days. I would return and recommend if you want a Lane swim its perfect and clean.

Fantastic experience: My son has been going to Nikki for swimming lessons since he was a year old and it’s amazing how far he has come and how much he loves water and that’s all thanks to Nikki. Positive experience: I want to share my positive experience with teacher Nicola, who teaches my daughter in her baby swim class. At first, my daughter cried throughout the first three classes, which was quite concerning for me. However, Nicola was patient and encouraging, which helped me to persevere with the classes. Despite my daughter's initial fear of water, Nicolas's guidance and support gradually made her more comfortable and confident. In addition, I appreciate Nicola's dedication to her students. However, what stood out to me the most was that Nicola did not give up on my daughter, even when she was crying and upset. Instead, she encouraged me to continue bringing my daughter to class, and her reassurance helped me to feel more confident in supporting my daughter during her lessons.

Positive experience: Actually had an accident here today and the staff I'd not met before couldn't have done more to help. The lovely lady who is the Head swimming coach was so very kind and chatty. She stayed with me until the ambulance arrived. The lady manager was also sweet. There were several young chaps who helped and one in particular who helps to keep the up keep of the building was kind enough to keep checking on me and brought tea!. Thankfully after several hours in hospital all is well. Thankyou to the team

Fantastic experience: All the staff , Chris, very knowledgeable and friendly. Really great atmosphere and assistance should you need it is always available. All in all a great place to relax and do excercise. Today Sue at reception was extremely helpful at the entrance turnstile, very friendly and courteous. Callum a swimming instructor was extremely helpful when I had a query regarding the swimming lanes, an absolute gentleman. I would also like to add, Josie, Stevie Sylvie at the reception desk a delight to see and very knowledgeable and helpful. Hannah one of the lifeguards was very helpful and kind, much appreciated. I would like to add Emerald onto the incredibly helpful staff, unbelievable in her speed to correct my stupidity, very very helpful and patient

Positive experience: Great leisure centre, been coming here for years. Facilities are good and the gym is never usually too crowded. The only downside is that the parking charges are expensive, and shouldn’t be included on top of membership.

Positive experience: In general, compared to what other gyms are charging, the gym is ok and fairly good value for money. Yoga instructor Amber is lovely and runs a very relaxing class. The floors in all rooms are always dirty and the equipment/mats in the store room are very old and feel unclean. More cleaning is definitely needed.

We are however sorry to hear you are disappointed with the cleanliness of the floors and equipment as both are cleaned regularly and the team follows a comprehensive daily cleaning schedule. We do ask members to wipe down equipment with the cleaning supplies provided before & after use and for those who attend regular yoga/pilates classes we do recommend bringing their own mats. Positive experience: ...nice place ...we signed up for swimming lessons for our 6 year old - the initial teacher she had didn't seem to know how to teach non swimmers so we swapped classes to a different stage 1 teacher and all has been great since then ...the only other thing to note is the first time you go for swimming lessons the reception staff seem a bit disorganised and tell you to sit and wait for teacher to come out when she never does (also people only find out about swimming caps behind the reception counter once actually inside the pool)

Negative experience: We have signed up this October for a family membership for £96 per month. Been charges prorate fee for October £53 approx. because we joined in the middle of the month or so, which was fine. And we were told that from the 1st of November we would be charged £96 per month. But instead, today I was charged £384. I have tried to fill in the form which was very inappropriate for this sort of an issue and the website was very very very slow. We were also told that this can be cancelled any time but instead they have confirmed today that we were in the 30 days rolling contract. We were missold this contract by one of their members of staff called Sylvia. We've made it very clear that we did not want any contract and Sylvia has assured us that this was the case and that it could be cancelled any time without any notice. But they needed our bank details to take a month in advance payment of £96 and if we were to cancel it, the unused amount would be refunded. But instead we have ended up with the £384 charge instead of agreed £96 agreed and on the rolling contract which we have never asked for. Very unprofessional behaviour, I have never seen something like it before. I would highly NOT recommend joining this centre as everything that we thought was agreed in fact was not agreed and they did everything that we have never asked for.

Fantastic experience: Really impressed with the leisure centre. Great facilities, clean and tidy, and really well organised. Marina was especially helpful in setting up the right banding and catch up lessons for our kids. The kids love their lessons with Georgia and even after a short time we're seeing great progress! The lessons are reasonably priced too. Sidenote: I purchased goggles for around the £5 Mark, which seemedvery reasonable.

Fantastic experience: I take my kids for swimming here. The teachers are good and very responsive.they encourage kids and move them to different stages appropriately. The place is clean and has a lot of different activities.

Negative experience: The sign-up process was awful. We went there to sign-up as family, they made us fill in the details on paper and then they copied them on the computer making all sorts of mistakes on names and birth date. They didn't enable my wife's membership properly so had to call couple of times losing days from the gym. The people in the reception are in general the most rude and unpolite I've ever seen in UK. The barcode scanner at the gate has been broken for a while, and they have to scan the code, making such a face like it's your fault that's not working! Dealing with them just make you boil inside by anger! The Structure itself is OK Attending the Center just because it's walking distance from home

Negative experience: Bad experience. The lady in the reception (Seem to call Sylvia) is very impolite and rude. We have booked the badminton court, my friend come late. We have 2 kids and 3 adult inside. The lady do not allow him to come in without telling the reason. She did not mention that it could pay extra admission fee for enter. After we check the leisure web, I do not think any people will be mind to pay £1.70 to enter and play with friends if possible. Second, one of kids are just 3 years old, I suppose to let one of adult to take care him when we are playing. There are some nets, balls and other game equipments inside the hall. I can't imagine if there are any accident will be happened on the kids without adult. Or the staff think that people cannot play sports if they bring with children. Also, I think there maybe the racial discriminations on my friend as he is Asian. Sylvia talk with others normally. But she just be rude on my friend. It is shocked that there are similar case in the center previously. The service still not have any improvement yet. I would like to suggest to keep all policies to be more clear and improve customer service quality in the future.

Positive experience: Sometimes the cleanliness of the changing rooms leave a lot to be desired but on the whole I enjoy coming to the centre. The reception staff are hel[pful and pleasant, especially Sylvia. It's hard to please everyone and I think all the staff work hard to keep on top of any issues.

Positive experience: Semi reasonable parking fees if over zealous anpr controlled enforcement. Can take a while to be let through the electric gates for purpose of infant swim classes. Not due to being overly busy but sometimes just because staff don't want to acknowledge you. Friendly poolside staff and our 5 year old is progressing well. Good changing facilities and even free hairdryer on way out

Negative experience: Sidcup leisure centre has come up with some weird rules about allowing only 4 players per court. I have been playing badminton with many clubs for number of years where club has number of members and take turns to play during the session. These sort of rules are strange and show complete lack of understanding of indoor sports. Do you expect group of 50-55 year olds to play continuously without any break and get heart attack on the court ? This is an absolute joke and gross shambles and works against basic concept of fitness Also staff has been extremely rude recently, I am Sidcup resident and now forced to travel to other parts of Bexley looking for indoor court as this centre lacks understanding of indoor sports. It is a shame, Hope centre takes note of this and learns from other centres in Bexley

Negative experience: We are booking badminton courts here initially and are forced to pay extra for additional members, meaning if we are 5 people we cant play in one court and are forced to book second court. Also rules are getting inconsistent and keep changing. One more thing we have noticed if the court is booked from 7:30 am, we dont get the court on time and are forced to move out early if we exceed few minutes. Same rules are not their on other leisure centres and there is no option to pay online for additional players.

Negative experience: Membership policies are pretty punitive. Miss a couple of booked classes and lose access to all facilities for one week. Give notice to end membership and lose access to mobile app completely, book classes and get through gate. Could understand some of this if the app was better with notifications and class booking but it’s not. Punitive and disappointing.

I was sent from one to another 3 times and was given incorrect information about membership - this was only rectified when I phoned and spoke to someone more qualified and informed. Negative experience: L have never see anyone so rude as Sylvia in my life . We have been book badminton court for last few week ,every time we have been trouble with this lady . She said we can have only 4 people per court . But when we book the court , there is no option for how many people per court.and ever time she is finger point on us and shouting to us .also she charges us £1.7 more per person and she doesn’t want to give the receipt.l would like to make the future complete to head office . If this is not been sorted. So so so bad l don’t get when you guys hire some one don’t training them. You can charge customers money like what you wanted.l don’t get what kinds of team what kinds of management you are . Also l saw this picture from your leisure centre home page .this is more than 4 people per court there also lots people seat down there .so how come Sylvia tell us only 4 people per court . And after we book the badminton court , she also charge us more .

Negative experience: This has potential to be a lovely leisure centre but right now it’s cleanliness is severely letting it down. The changing rooms/locker area for the swimming pool are grim and stink of urine. The family changing facilities lack some thought in regards to layout, but are sufficient (apart from the lack of cleanliness). It doesn’t help that people using the facilities are quite careless too, leaving their rubbish (used swimming nappies) on the floor or the seats too - but this could be handled if a more regular and thorough cleaning regime was introduced. We’re still in a pandemic, you’d expect everything would be that much cleaner, but sadly it’s just dirty.

Negative experience: There was a lady at reception has been very harsh and unprofessional. One day, I saw her standing by sports hall door entry shouting at one person in the middle of the hall: "You! Come out!". We all got confused what she was shouting at.

I come to leisure centres for fun not looking for some one treat me like I am the one has done something wrong. Question me and shouting me. She has no respect to the customer at all. do not montion hospitality.really do not understood her behavior. how can she be reception with such manner,it will be a big lost for the company because she will scare the customer away. because she will drive the customer away.

Negative experience: Not recommend. There is one lady named Sylvia working at reception, she has been constantly unfriendly and rude to us. In the past a few weeks and before pandemic, we have been experiencing lots of unfair treatments by her, that made us very uncomfortable and stressful. We have spoken to her line manger Megan about her attitude and manner, hoping this situation can be improved, but She created even bigger hassle because we told her off by pointing her finger and shouting in front of us. We have been using this leisure center, and the brothers leisure center, crook log and Erith for nearly 6 years, most of the staff members are friendly and helpful. We are paying to enjoy the facilities as we are all living locally, didn’t expect this rude encounter coming at all. I would like to suggest to keep all policies and rules more consistent and transparent and improve customer service quality in the future, otherwise it will lose more and more local customers.

Fantastic experience: Lovely place. Nice and clean. The only issue is this falls in an area with minimal signal so its quite difficult to pay for parking online/ through app. There is hardly any signal in the area.

Negative experience: Just started a week now, a few housekeeping issues the fitness studio floor needs a good clean. The Corona Virus is still here people cleanliness, cleanliness, cleanliness. I also attended a Zumba class. No instructions given during the class, when the class was over the instructor just disappeared...not even a goodbye or have a nice weekend....at £51 a month I expect better. Hopefully the floors in the fitness rooms will be cleaned this weekend

Negative experience: Worst place on earth. Staff are literally confused and the whole system is a MESS! DO NOT SIGN UP HERE FOR ANYTHING! Especially their memberships! Will be complaining till they can sort their s*** out!
Positive experience: Went for the first time in 2 years. Took my two children with me and we went into the small pool. It was really cold. As previously the learning pool has always been warm.
Negative experience: Please beware that this organisation uses the services of a parking Stasi, going by the name of Parking Eye. We popped along to discuss with the receptionists about opening times for public swimming lessons, this took around 15 minutes. So the total time in the car park was 16 minutes. This has resulted in a fine of £100. Ouch!!! Maybe we shall take our custom elsewhere, and I recommend you bear this in mind should you also consider using this facility.

Negative experience: The swimming lessons are 25 minutes and despite this the teacher try somehow to cut from this time few minutes at the beginning and at the end. I noticed last week the manager but only verbal. No improvements. Other disappointed situation was when reception some people ask for track and trace and others no. They are just selective. The general impression is despite lockdown past the services should be at the same level as before, not just collecting money from customers.Sadddd.

Negative experience: Staff was very rude, changing rooms were filthy and whole place smelt of urine. Baby pool was closed so had to take baby daughter (18months old) in to the main pool which was freezing. Will not go again
