Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere. There is enough space to train. Lovely steam room and sauna. Swimming pool almost always available for a swim. Fun and challenging zumba and step classes by Alexandru Dup, super nice energy!
Negative experience: Nothing works properly in this gym. No matter what, something you need to use won't be working. Today it's the showers, most of the time it's the thing to dry your swimsuit or the air conditioning so no matter what every session is a hot yoga session; even the coffee machine got in on the action the other day. They don't even give out towels like almost any other premium priced Nuffield, presumably because even they aren't working. My conclusion is that it's incredibly poorly managed. Regular staff members are kind and welcoming but the management are rude, dismissive, disagreeable and clearly incapable of running the place. The best use of this gym is to store your bag during the Fulham game, though that's assuming the local kids don't break in through the fire exit and steal your stuff as has happened several times as well. Not recommended.
Fantastic experience: Body pump on Wednesday evenings with Amerissa is excellent. She is motivational, extremely knowledgable about fitness and body pump. In addition, she is surprising strong, effortlessly lifting more weight than any pump instructor I’ve seen over the last 15 years, male of female.
Negative experience: it’s funny seeing a gym like this ostensibly run a noble joint-pain initiative that old ladies come to depend on, yet behind the veneer is a psycho making and breaking price promises at will, trapping them in a programme that can only be continued at double the promised price. or wait no, after weeks of discussion, they just promised to uphold their promise… no no wait, let them just check that with the manager and (not) get back to you not even the old arthritic ladies are safe from this gym
Negative experience: Gym Changing rooms have flys in the showers half the showers have no Curtains so you have to see other people shower steam room broken like once a week sauna state is getting worse the staff know how bad it’s and is currently closed so if you sign up to use the sauna mainly I would avoid this Nuffield the staff lie to your face and act like the problem just happened and there attempting to fix it sauna wood is and has been in a state of horror for the whole time I’ve joined up but they continue to put the price up and call this gym a tier one shouldn’t be no where near a tier one should be 3 even calling it a 2 would be nice avoid this gym at all cost go to a different gym and actually get your moneys worth absolutely shocking establishment some of the staff that are nice is alyessyaa Hayley abed Rosie they make you fell very welcome at the gym some others acting like they own the gym ie Oliver and Jon Jon is very difficult to deal with and is just plain rude when you’re speaking to him
Negative experience: No hot water in the showers. After paying as a member, and having shower with cold water, is not the best! The management should look after this! Looks very bad! The pool it's a freezer.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely excellent service. Eliha and Jedrian ( sorry if spelling is wrong), are unique.. They are both very patient and understanding.. Most important they care and they share excellent sense of humour, making our experience great.. Nuffield couldn’t have chosen better staff, excellent service and care for the Joint pain clinic…. Well done..
Positive experience: Have been a member for over10 years. One of the biggest issues was that it used to take so long to get repairs fixed. That is now resolved. They have great PTs who do care about client progress and they have created an environment where it is fun to train. My PT is Alessia Goldhorn who is excellent. She plans in advance and is very methodical with my training plans. Very happy with friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: At this current moment, I have joined Nuffield pain programme. I am very grateful to have Jadrien and Aaliyah for supporting me through this journey. They are very professional, caring and helpful and take a personal interest in each and everyone in the group. Emily, the fitness manager, is also very caring and attentive and is a great leader for the team. I look forward to the classes every week and would recommend anyone who is in need to go and try it out for themselves.
Fantastic experience: My local gym. Great facility with an indoor pool and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is always friendly, and the gym is never too crowded, making it easy to find space to work out. It’s a quiet, familiar environment with minimal distractions, perfect for staying focused on your fitness goals.
Positive experience: I have been participating in the excellent Nuffield Health Joint Pain Programme. The programme is terrific; it provides 12 weeks of tailored joint pain/rehabilitation exercises under the supervision of two very helpful, considerate and friendly instructors, Aaliha and Jadrien. One session is in the gym and the other is in the pool. They really analysed my problems with me and then designed a tailor-made, individual programme, and they offer personal advice every session to make sure I am doing the exercises properly. As I have improved, they have added new, more ambitious exercises to my routine. The aquarobics sessions are fantastic. The combination of the two types of exercise is excellent, and I have experienced the most amazing improvement to my mobility. Once the initial 12 weeks is over, we are given a further 12 weeks of free membership to the gym so we can continue with the good work. After this, we were initially offered a further year at a very reduced membership rate of £35 a month. This has been revised up twice now, and is currently at £62 a month, which is barely any less than the £66 off-peak membership rate. As a retiree, I would not be interested in going at peak times anyway - I would always be attending at less crowded times. This has changed the goalposts. I am personally unable to pay the higher fee. I think it is very sad, both for me, and for my instructors, who have put a lot of their personal effort and care into my rehabilitation. It feels as if all their hard work will be undone. On the basis of the programme itself, and Nuffield Health who are sponsoring this programme, I would have given a 5 star review. However, I am only giving it a 4 star review as I feel that management has not treated us fairly.
Fantastic experience: Great location and good facility. The staff is very helpful and constantly look out for improvement to make the time spent at the gym enjoyable.
Positive experience: Decent family, fitness class and personal trainer focused gym. Facilities are a bit outdated and it would be great if they reopened the health bar (there’s only a coffee and vending machine) but the staff are extremely knowledgeable about health and wellness of the gym goers. And the great natural light is a bonus!
Fantastic experience: I joined this friendly Fulham gym a few weeks ago. It's been an excellent spur to my fitness goals which remain modest but significant to me. I want to gain some upper body strength, to be able to get onto and off the floor without using my hands and to learn Pilates/yoga positions to use when I'm away for work. From my first day, taking a tour with Mohammed, to meeting Oliver a boxing expert, Emily who manages personal training with a brilliant smile and starting out with my own trainer Jadrien, I've felt welcomed and cared for. There is a safe locked room for bikes and pushchairs, a swimming pool and sauna/steam room and lots of lockers. The front of house staff are invariably pleasant and helpful. I try to combine my weights and dynamic exercises with a class each time I visit. Although I find myself unable to do everything the teacher demonstrates I remind myself to just keep trying. It's lovely to end a session with a swim and sauna somedays. I recommend getting a few sessions with a PT, Emily will advise who suits you best. Jadrien has helped me stay motivated and focused. I've learnt a lot about myself and I am pursuing those goals every day. Looking after this one body that has carried me through life for over 50 years is completely worthwhile and the Nuffield Fulham gym is a perfect place to do it.
Positive experience: There is a wide range of classes to suit all tastes and across the whole day which is great. It is a small gym and the facilities reflect that but there’s a good atmosphere and it is very conveniently located for me

Negative experience: I was told they would apply my Axa healthcare discount, they didn't and I've been overcharged for 3 months - when I asked why they didn't apply it they said they didn't know. Also said they could 'try' to get my money back but can't guarantee it. Terrible service of a long-term customer.

Negative experience: Avoid this gym. It is not worth your money. Basically no equipment and the changing rooms are very dirty. I came here for a trial but I won’t come back. For the price there are better gyms.

Negative experience: The gym is appalling, and the service is equally disappointing. Member satisfaction appears to be consistently sacrificed to the whims of whoever 'runs' the place. The only redeeming factor is the instructors, but unfortunately, the most beloved and popular ones were either pushed away or fired by management. Body Steps was removed a few years ago and never replaced, and more recently, a universally loved Body Attack instructor was let go without suitable replacements being found so far. As for the gym itself, the air conditioning rarely works, and when it does, it is not reliable. The Covid situation was used as an understandable excuse to discontinue the provision of towels to members, a service that never returned, despite an increase in prices. For an extended period, the ceiling in Studio 1 was falling apart, exposing the room to the elements (buckets were elegantly scattered around to collect rainwater), with black mold thriving in every corner, providing an exceptionally soothing view for yoga and Pilates classes. The equipment is outdated, with a significant number of broken bikes left unrepaired. The audio system, a basic necessity in a gym, consistently malfunctions, causing headaches for instructors. If you require assistance, do not expect the staff to be helpful. Their indifference suggests they are only focused on finding better job opportunities. One can hardly blame them. The outcome of these issues is an extremely dysfunctional gym, with a single longstanding member of management who has been in the same position since the gym's opening decades ago, ruling unchallenged while the rest of the management team experiences high turnover, making it impossible to get to know anyone. After a four-year struggle, I have decided to cancel my membership, especially after the unjust termination of the Body Attack instructor. If you appreciate disrespect, mold-infested premises, and faulty equipment, then this gym is the perfect fit for you.

Negative experience: This gym is not worth your money or time. For the price, you get old equipment, no A/C, no towels, and your belongings might get stolen (bikes, phones, stereos…). Instead of addressing these issues, the gym management spends time accusing instructors of theft without any proof. One day you're a beloved instructor, the next day you're accused of being a thief. There are better gyms available for a similar or lower price. Avoid this one.
Negative experience: For a gym that recently was upgraded to tier 1, the infrastructures are appalling. The sauna and steam room break every other week, the A/C never works properly, the equipment is old, broken and impossible to find because staff do not care about keeping the gym tidy, the roof leaks when it rains, no towels are provided, nobody seems to be concerned about actually running the place , bikes get stolen every other week as the gym forces members to store theirs in an unsafe, unsupervised area...

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting charging rooms (male) no one had bothered inspecting it for hours. The shower area is dreadful, missing curtains, leaking shower heads, taps not working. The whole place needs a massive clean and refresh. Awful for members.

Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Nutfield Health Centre gym, and I must say, it is absolutely stunning. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a modern and well-designed space that exudes a sense of tranquility. From the moment I arrived, the staff members were incredibly helpful and attentive. Fantastic experience: The gym is never very busy which is great, it means you can use all of the machines without a wait. I have taken a personal trainer Karoline who has been ever so good. I’ve learnt about certain stretches and muscle groups that really need strengthening so I have a real focus now. Definitely recommend a trainer like Karoline if you are starting out.
Fantastic experience: Love this gym! Staff are so friendly and they provide a variety of classes with great instructors who are committed to their weekly sessions with great enthusiasm and energy. It is lovely to see regulars on a weekly basis. Bushra in particular who is usually at reception is so sweet, helpful and friendly.
Fantastic experience: I have been attending the morning classes at this gym for over a year now. The PT's are all super friendly, motivating and offer lots of helpful advice. The classes are all very varied and the gym has a real sense of community.
Fantastic experience: Nice small gym. Some of the kit is showing its age, but is still more than serviceable. Have trained with Emily Karoline for a while now and have more than benefitted from her expertise and good natured guidance: I had become very jaded and bored with gyms mainly because I felt I was in a bit of a rut, but now enjoy the sessions and the variety of exercise challenges set by her, so am re-converted. Overall, the people are nice and approachable and the facilities reflect a gym of this size.
Fantastic experience: My first visit here last week was a really good one. I had no idea where I was going and had to seek help from reception. Jacey was really kind and could see I needed some guidance (and even a little encouragement, since I always feel self conscious going to the gym by myself). She was exceptionally warm and friendly and put me at ease which is great because I now feel much more confident to return. Class was excellent and the atmosphere nice and relaxed. Well done!

Fantastic experience: Nuffield Health forum fitness sits on a quiet road next to the river terms. The number 424 bus stops directly outside giving excellent access from Fulham Broadway and Putney. This is my favourite gym in London. It’s small but has a really good range of equipment and free weights and a swimming pool. It’s not the latest tech but it all works well. The staff are incredibly friendly and supportive and there is a wonderful relaxed attitude at the gym which is never overcrowded. The pool is excellent. Although the dressing rooms look a little bit tired. the showers are incredible and very powerful. I took out a 12 week personal trainer program which is incredibly reasonably priced. My personal trainer Karoline, is a specialist in joint pain. She has put together a remarkable routine for me to exercise and stretch very particular joints and this is given more relief than any painkilling tablets. The sessions have been worth waiting gold and inspired me to attend the gym on a very regular basis as our motivated by her support. The gym has a very relaxed friendly attitude, and there is something about the place that simply feels warm and welcoming. There are two studios which offer a wide range of classes from Pilates through to circuit training. The fees are very reasonable and they offer an off-peak membership too. It’s the staff and a friendliness of the price that keeps me motivated to achieve my health and weight goals. I really recommend this place above other larger gyms in the area. There’s lots of car parking space making it easy for drivers to get to. the river is directly behind the gym and has spectacular view to the wilderness on the other side, making it feel as if you’re way out in the country.
Negative experience: Unfortunately due to lack of transparency on how to cancel my membership incidentally it is www.nuffieldhealth/cancel-gym-membership (nowhere is this visible on the site nor could anyone at the gym tell me) this woeful and I would say underhand management at this substandard establishment is the worst gym in London. So I’ve now had to pay another £75 for a gym I don’t use. What a detriment to the brand’s good name.

Negative experience: I was a member immediately after lockdowns. Live less than 10 min walk. It was pretty awful then but I stuck with it a few months, until the texts about no hot water became several weekly occurrence and the whole wet facilities almost never worked. Stuck my head in the other day - still live less than 10 min away - and whilst I couldn’t see the cleaner sat down in ladies playing on her phone, as the case was constantly two years ago, the cleanliness (or rather grimy filthiness) has remained the same. I guess they live off too many lazy yummy mummies and quasi-fit boomers who don’t know how to find their way out of the hood…

Positive experience: I can not believe this is part of the Nuffield group. My home gym is the city gym, and I trained here because I was in the area. The run down state of the facilities and the poor attitude of the staff (compared to how amazing it is in the city) is very disappointing, and I can't believe the contrast. I arrived at 7am and greeted the receptionist with a bright and cheery "good morning" she flat out ignored me until she had to tell me their card reader won't read the barcode on my phone screen. They also don't provide towels, which is fine to have different tiers, but when I'm already there, it's a bit late to find that out. Visited again today and a lot of the issues have been fixed, so added a star.

Fantastic experience: This 5 star review is only for the swimming lessons that I take in this gym :) I have been training with Zaccaria. I am a complete newbie to swimming and he has been great in teaching me to feel comfortable in the water. He is very patient and knows how to encourage and motivate me to keep going. I am quite happy with the swimming skills that I have picked up so far and it's all thanks to Zaccaria.

Fantastic experience: I have great time at my swimming lessons with Zachary. He is very professional, open, and the best swimming instructor as he gave me confidence. I can be on my own in pool, and have improved rapidly. I started from scratch without knowing how to swim and with Zachary I feel like a great swimmer.

Fantastic experience: Great local gym albeit a little tired but it has everything you need. The staff are friendly and helpful and the classes are brilliant. Shoutout to Zac, my kids swim teacher who is amazing and my kids have progressed so quickly since he joined!

Negative experience: The pool is ok, as long as there aren't more than 3 people in it. That's the best I can say about this place. The ladies' showers are disgusting - mold and mildew everywhere. They need a dehumidifier; instead, they occasionally put on the a/c which means that the changing rooms (clean, but much in need of repair) are freezing while the shower area is still like a swamp. The entire place is run-down and it is far too expensive for what it is.

Negative experience: I have asked about 8 different staff can they please straighten up the squat rack, they all said they will and it still isn't fixed...been asking for months. The gym is in need for a makeover, everything is dated and the carpet smells, changing room is old, but otherwise has everything you need. Classes are pretty plain.

Negative experience: All gym appliances are so out of date weight room all appliances are discontinued & have been handed down from other clubs as members of staff have told me personally plus treadmills & cross trainers are so old Nuffield is in the heart of 1 of the most expensive areas in fulham & it’s a joke as we & many of people I know constantly getting txts 2 say no hot water boiler not working steam or sauna not working there is constant leaks coming through the ceiling in weight room Ive been 2 Nuffield in Southfields & all the equipment is the state of the art fantastic place why is Nufield not like that it’s so wrong it’s like no one cares about the place it’s being run into the ground what a shame could b such a nice gym if the right person or persons had a proper look @ the gym & made it a nice place 2 come again I’m sure plenty of people would b queuing up 2 join
Negative experience: I went to this gym the other day. Take this review as a minus one star. I cannot speak of the sauna/ steam facilities because I walked in and walked right out. I should have known not to waste my time by the exterior. All i can say it that it looked like a dungeon. The employees at the desk their feet up as if I owed them rent and acted entitled as it was wasn’t my home club. I walked into the changing room and I left mentally scarred. It was dirty, hair, dust everywhere. I then went into the main gym, there was a smell that is still with me to this day. The hygiene was poor, it looked in need of refurbishment and the management needs to change. When I heard that with this price a month, the locals are going to this gym, I was astounded. They are even closing pool facilities because of energy prices, what a joke. Don't come here, save ur energy, GO TO VIRGIN! Those are the best gym experiences I’ve ever had in my life

Negative experience: Shabby. Not busy. Lots of machines in gym. Two rowing machines have been in disrepair for months. General maintence very low. Mens showers dirty. Swimming pool good but jacuzzi not always working. Needs a good sort out and clean up.

Negative experience: So far below the standard of other London Nuffield’s. What sort of gym doesn’t have a functioning water machine?? Many, many machines in need of an upgrade, half the lockers are broken, and generally the place needs some love. Nowhere near worth what they are charging, speaks miles that the machines are better and place is cleaner at PureGym !!

Positive experience: Good gym but definitely needs a facelift as decor looks tired. Good selection of machines and free weights but there's a real no frills vibe from the gym as a whole. The plus side of this place is that it doesn't get too busy and it's quite low key. The spa area needs a revamp as it's outdated and pokey. It would be worth investing in a refurb given the clientele of the area.
Negative experience: Came down to try out the club with the view of joining. Really nice guy at reception. Went for a swim and found a man floating in the fast swimming lane, blocking the whole lane. Politely asked him to swim in the open bathing area. He claimed he’s been doing this everyday for 10 years. Rude, obnoxious man, who said if I have a problem I should speak to the management. Not sure if the is is reflection of the type of people who are members here. Even so, changing rooms quite tatty and club dingy on whole. Won’t be signing up / coming back!
Fantastic experience: Used to be a member here from 2000-2003 when I had to cancel my membership as I was moving overseas. Recently returned to the UK, and went to see about renewing my membership. Staff are super friendly and helpful, in particular Ahmad who helped me to re-join the club. Looking forward to a work-out, swim and jacuzzi over the weekend.

Positive experience: I trained at Nuffield for a month with a 30 physio pass from AXA. I didn't use the pool or spa facilities. There is a good amount of equipment to use and it's all in working order. I used the boxing bag in the studio space which is a good addition. Free weights section is on the small side, which wasn't a problem as the gym wasn't usually busy. I trained around lunch times and occasionally around 5pm. I probably wouldn't pay £70 for membership but there isn't much option in the local area. The price is probably what keeps it quiet though. The staff are really friendly. They have a bike storage area with CCTV too, which is a nice bonus.
Positive experience: Decent gym. Other members leave a lot to be desired. Put your phone away (or stay at home). You're here to work out, not mess around on Instagram and take up equipment from the people who actually want to achieve something. And....please, please, please put your equipment away/unrack weights after use. It's not hard. You know where it goes....because you got it out.
Positive experience: Good gym, but premium prices. Friendly staff and good cleaning. Classes included, but no zumba nor any dancing classes :(

Gym - Great setup, has everything you need. Clean, safe and also has studio space when needed Swimming Pool - Clean, warm and lanes are usually free Sauna/steam room - Perfect for after workout, clean and spacious with covid rules in place Changing rooms - Lots of lockers and very spacious Bravo Nuffield Fulham!
Negative experience: Terrible “gym”. So many issues but to name a few - The place is always a mess, they have a very strict “don’t out your weights or plates away when you’re done with them” policy, the ceiling is literally falling apart in numerous places with lots of exposed mold, several pieces of broken/damaged equipment, and a general sense of apathy to all of this from the staff. The photos posted to google by corporate are extremely out of date as well. Do yourself a favor and work out anywhere but this sorry excuse for a “gym.”
Negative experience: I have been a member of this gym over the past year. Although it is convenient for me as to where I live, it’s level of standard is dated and a bit low! The hygiene isn’t the greatest with numerous times of sanitising wipes being run out, the changing rooms being dirty and a weird smell. The facilities are dated and some out of service most of the time. The staff are a bit hit and miss, and most of the time unfriendly especially as you see them when visiting.

Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN NUFFIELD FULHAM Appalled by my experience with Nuffield in Fulham. Customer service is terrible and it took me months to cancel a membership despite having moved out of London. They have all these administrative hoops you have to jump through so they can scam you out of even more money, for instance not replying to my emails and then claiming it was my fault. Any contact with managers and receptionists I had was hostile and unsympathetic. The gym itself is not worth the exorbitant membership prices, particularly not for students. Would reccommend signing up for PureGym or Easy Gym down the road for a fraction of the price and much higher quality service. * Update: I have just been contacted by Nuffield AGAIN to say I owe them money despite being told my case was close and membership cancelled MONTHS ago! I am the customer and it is not my job to do Nuffields admin for them. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Fantastic experience: If you like retro gym equipment and having access to a comprehensive Health Assessment this is a great place to check out. From their website we really like this caption about the Health Assessments they offer ... "Included in every Health Assessment: - Quality time with an experienced GP or health and wellbeing physiologist - Results given straight away, with time to review them during your assessment - A personalised report with your test results and next steps - Free one-month gym membership to start you on your road to improved health - Quick and easy referrals, if we need to refer you for further support from other specialists." Not sure, how that sounds to you, however it sounds pretty comprehensive to us - making it the key selling point about this gym for us. Just remember, like many gyms of this age and size, not every nook and cranny is going to be picture perfect, and to be honest, scanning through some of the other reviews, nothing will beat checking it out for yourself. Negative experience: Archaic gym, thats crying out for more than a new lick of paint. Pros: it's a gym Cons: it's dirty, old and needs new equipment. There's been attempts at appeasing members through new plates and bars but it needs more than that. There's no coordination at all with equipment. The changing rooms are filthy, I feel bad for the cleaning team cause they work tirelessly to keep it clean. The shower floors are dirty and are infested with flies which don't make showering a nice experience. Facilities seem to break on a regular basis, with leaks, broken equipment and steam room closures. Only go if for the convenience of its location, otherwise steer clear and find a nicer alternative in London. A great shame as I always thought highly of Nuffield Health but it's facilities are abismal.

Negative experience: Was a member here for nearly 2 years. The gym and changing rooms are badly outdated in decor and equipment. Every room looks as though it could do with a proper refurbishment. The changing rooms are messy and the showers have mould and cracks throughout. The pool/steam room/jacuzzi are just as bad. The Jacuzzi was out of service most of the time and the pool was usually quite cold. Id recommend you look elsewhere.

Negative experience: ** Updated review May 2018 — replaces my original review from summer 2017 ** Other than the green paint, there is little that makes this consistent with the Nuffield brand. This gym badly needs a refurb. but more than that it needs a management team that wants to invest in the space, develop its existing membership and attract new ones. Take today for example, there could have been all sorts of incentives to get people in on the bank holiday. I went there just after 5.30pm to find… the gym closed! Despite the opening hours on the door saying it is open till 8pm on a bank holiday. I phoned the gym and eventually someone came to the door and told me that they were closing at 6pm that day. So a wasted journey. Why weren’t members informed? This gym might not be in the top category, but it is still in the same price group as the excellent Edinburgh Omni Nuffield Health, which is worlds apart. Absolutely amazing, brilliant staff, first rate facilities. They’re even lucky enough just to have had an extensive refurb - even though the gym was in great shape already - and now have the latest technogym equipment, which you can use with mobile apps etc. The whole place has a buzz about it. Lots of reciprocal discounts with local businesses. Social events. A great cafe with an ever-changing menu. Turning back to Nuffield Fulham, they may have dated equipment, faulty air conditioning and the like, and less space, but they could make up in other ways. I’ve been coming here for a little over a year. There have been some great staff, but they seem to come and go. There are fewer classes than you might expect. The whole place just feels pretty tired and looks dilapidated, especially if you compare it with the nearby Virgin Active. It’s clean, but it isn’t well maintained. So why do I still come here? Well, it’s generally quiet. I don’t need the latest equipment, I just need somewhere I can focus on my workout. And generally the people that come here do just that - it’s not handbags, glamour and mobile phones. Last year I reviewed at 3 stars but am dropping down to two given the complete lack of investment in the club over this period. Come on Nuffield, give this gym a bit of attention. Your members will thank you.

Negative experience: Was there 7 years but the mould growing on the baby seat in the changing rooms finally pushed me out. It's generally filthy - no money has been spent on it for years. The poolside can be gross with bits of old float and cobwebs on the tiles. On emailed complaints no-one is interested or gets back to you. I get emailed asking me to re-sign but when I say why I left there is never any reply. Towels are ancient and they use them to clean sometimes! Gym equipment is old and the "entertainment system" never works properly. Staff seem demotivated and can't blame them as who wouldn't be working in a dump. Many move on very quickly as who wants to work in a dump? They either need to re-vamp it properly and take an interest in it or shut it down. It's supposed to be a health centre but wash your hands when you get home in case you pick something up! I joined virgin and wish I had done this years ago... now it is a joy to go to the gym. Avoid !! Whoever is the main boss at Nuffield really needs to sort it out. Manager and staff often are outside smoking cigarettes! Heath club indeed...

Positive experience: The good things about this gym: the staff are extremely friendly and there is a lovely atmosphere. Some of the instructors are very good. It's never too crowded although the better classes can be a bit crowded. Compared with other pools in Central London, there is almost always enough space. The gym has enough equipment to avoid queues. Gym staff are mostly excellent at one to one instruction. There is a new manager who managed to get some new mats for the studios...but...... The bad things: compared with some Nuffied gyms, does look quite scruffy. The pool is often too warm, there aren't that many classes, particularly in the early evenings and then there is very little choice, and some of the instructors just seem a bit bored. Use of teachers' headsets and music is not great and music volumes are often too loud. Candles not allowed in yoga/body balance classes, so not very atmospheric. Close proximity of weight equipment to yoga and pilates studio can be a problem - when heavy weights are dropped in the gym, and you are lying on the floor in the studio, you can feel the reverberations. There aren't always enough soft mats for yoga and pilates, and the mats are mainly old, thin and look grubby. No cleaning materials available for mats. If you are not a full time London resident, there is flexibility on membership but you have to notify the gym before the start of the full calendar month before, which isn't always possible.But providing you can shut your eyes to the facilities at times, leaking ceiling in the studio, it's ok.

Fantastic experience: Nice clean and quit gym
Negative experience: Been a member 13 years since it was Cannons (and perhaps before that). Sad to say giving up, it just lacks any energy or investment. Earphone jacks don't work on any of the bikes, and now they have stopped subscribing to sky sports - it is a gym!! Perhaps people who go are sporty and like sports?? Actually most people who go like cooking programmes and daytime TV, time to move on which is a shame as it is local and staff are friendly.
Negative experience: Terrible value for money if you want to actually work out. The gym equipment in the free weights area is old. You can't squat low in the squat rack. The machines go up by huge increments because they look like they are from the 80s and the weights do not fit the bars- if you can find matching ones at all. There is very little room to stretch. There aren't many classes compared to other gyms. It is generally a depressing place. You are essentially paying a lot of money for a pool/Jacuzzi/location. The gym itself has bare minimum exercise equipment which is not ok given the price.
