Fantastic experience: Pool is very nice and clean. Temp is fine. Kid friendly between 9am - 12pm and 3pm - 6pm. Staff are lovely. The gym is good with good equipment.

Fantastic experience: We come here at least once a week. The dual membership is well-priced, and we love how clean, relaxing, and friendly this health club is. It's part of the Crown Plaza building, has plenty of parking, and is easy to reach from any direction. We've been members since the major refurb in Nov 2022 and not had a single complaint. The guys on reception are brilliant, helpful, and always have the answer to any question. Decent sized pool, medium-sized steam and sauna rooms, but more importantly for us, it's cleaned multiple times a day. The locker/changing rooms are also OK, haven't had an issue (mens locker room in the picture) There are also spa treatments on-site and if you are members, you get 10% off treatments. I recently went for a full body deep tissue massage with Bespoke Spa Beauty, which was brilliant. Sarah was very, very good; I would highly recommend her, and I will be coming back again.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member here for a few years, and I have always been made to feel welcome every time I step through the doors. Hi Mike, Thanks for leaving us a review. It’s a bit of a shame you said this considering we’re undergoing a gym refurbishment currently. The works are scheduled to be finished by the 12th of December. We’re redoing everything inside the gym: - flooring - painting - electrical works - new TV’s - new equipment ie Technogym - new layout of the gym to allow for a larger free weights section A lot of work has been going on to renovate the club in recent months. Ranging from new spin dryers in both changing rooms. New gym refurbishment. Lots of upgrades in our pool plant room to ensure a good operating procedure & water quality. Furthermore, we also have plans to do much more during 2023. Hopefully after you see the refurbishment completed you’ll change your view on us. Nevertheless, thank you for the feedback. Fantastic experience: Revive is a lovely place to work out and relax. All the staff are very friendly and easy to talk too. Its a nice gym and a superb pool and spa. The aqua classes are great fun. Definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic experience: We have been members at Revive for several years, over this time period there has been a lot of changes and ups and downs. But that was then and this is NOW. Liam and his team are doing a fantastic job working hard to make revive a premier gym and spa. Revive has a fantastic pool, sauna steam room and jacuzzi that we use most days. The Gym area is great also. Revive is a very friendly club and everyone is welcome, we have made some great friends over the years. Fantastic experience: I have just joined the Revive club as my NHS physio told me to start swimming ! I found the monthly payment manageable and looked around with Scott who was helpful and knowledgeable about the pool and changing room facilities. A couple of days later Alex completed the membership process for me and again was very helpful and friendly. So far so good as are the pool and steam room and the showers and changing area. All clean and mostly in good order. I look forward to a regular visit and hopefully getting fitter too !

Fantastic experience: A fantastic all round gym and spa that covers everything from a quick sauna and shower to a full gym and swim session. Liam and his team ensure everything is attended to and kept to a good standard. We are kept informed of anything being fixed and all staff are friendly and helpful. I try and go as often as I can!

Fantastic experience: My experience in the Revive Spa was great. For the area it is located, the structure is very good, you wouldn't find anything else like that in Reading, they have decent gym equipment, sauna, steam room, heated pool, clean changing rooms and very helpful staff and management. The hotel has a nice bar and cafe over the reception where you can sit down to work on your laptop and free parking available. What else do we need? Highly recommended.

Positive experience: Showers only run for about 10 seconds and water either cold or tempid - no hot water. Hard to shower after a swim when the showers are like this. Smell of chlorine is strong on the skin which means not got right chemical balance in pool. Loads of scum/froth on jacuzzi. Nearest place to where we live or I'd go elsewhere.
Hi Tracey, thank you for your review. I will pass this information over to my maintenance team to see what can be done regarding the length of time that the showers stay on. From what I am aware, they're programmed this way to only run for a short duration of time as people tend to leave it running when they leave which is a waste of water. However, I do see your point and will see if we can change this to something a bit longer! Also, regarding temperature of the showers they shouldn't vary when on a setting so I will look into that to see if that is the case. The staff do check the water chemical levels every two hours and I can confirm that all of our readings are within H&S guidelines or else we must close the designated area off. Positive experience: Very busy because of half term. Steam room was a bit too hot for me!
Thank you for your review, indeed, we do tend to get busier in the half term but we do have children's hours which are 9.00-12.00 and 15.00-18.00 everyday. Positive experience: Good gym for my non-expert requirements. Pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi seem to work well. Only downside is parking and locker squatters. Disabled bays tend to be taken by inconsiderate non-badge holders. Car parking is a few hundred yards away and not directly outside the building.

I can confirm that if anything stays in the lockers overnight then we do bolt cut the padlocks as this is a breach in our security. Fantastic experience: I had a few issues with cancelling my membership (I needed to due to medical reasons.) The issues I had were not with revive direct but with a company that dealt with the financial side (direct debits) . After getting in contact with Liam the manager it has all been sorted out. I can’t tell you how helpful Liam has been, he has gone above and beyond and when I am looking at getting back to the gym I will have no qualms in rejoining revive. Thank you once again Liam

Fantastic experience: Just sharing my two cents on the Revive Gym/Spa. Most of the negative comments here were once valid but are now outdated as it was essentially the negligence and lack of care from the previous manager which led to its downfall, however they have now thankfully thrown in the towel and left it in much more capable, professional, and experienced hands. Ever since the recent changing of the guard where Liam took charge as the new manager, I instantly noticed a complete 180 of the standards being raised back up again to a much higher level that one would expect of a health club/spa that is situated inside of a 4-Star Crowne Plaza Hotel. Just in the short amount of time since taking over, he has injected new life into the club and shown his care, commitment, and dedication to maintain high professional standards. Whether it’s from his willingness to go the extra mile for his staff and club members by frequently coming in voluntarily on his days off to ensure that everything is running smoothly or by often getting his own hands dirty cleaning all of the gym/spa facilities himself are just some examples of the things that unfortunately the previous manager never once did or even cared about getting done despite the complaints. As others have stated, this new management has brought about a drastic change to the cleanliness, customer service level, and an overall much more positive experience for us club members. Any feedback we have is now actually taken on board and addressed in regular communication via detailed emails which keep us updated on how each thing is going to be resolved as well as any upcoming improvements and new equipment. It’s only just the beginning but it’s already evident that the new club manager Liam will be able to successfully ‘revive’ Revive Health Club/Spa back to its former glory, if not make it even better.

Fantastic experience: The Gym has been my place to relax and unwind for over 5 years. Though, yes through the management changes there have been more low than high in its service. Recently I have seen a quire positive development in service, equipment, and cleanliness. Liam as a manger has gone from Strength to strength utilising his many years’ experience to provide a service than benefits members. He has improved the existing relationship and fostered new ones. Please provide the Gym/Spa a benefit of the doubt and give a day or two. You might be surprised how much it grows on you. .

Positive experience: Replaced earlier review: Recently better than it was and mostly everything is working all the time. Early mornings are bizarrely overrun with a group of old ladies that make it difficult to swim before work but other times it's good. For the price it's a pretty good gym.

Negative experience: Overpriced, rude staff, old and not enough equipment. Don't think you can just turn up and swim, you can't, must book before hand (which they don't tell you on sign up) and rarely have space. Some advice - try for 1 month only then decide if it's right for you, saved me a bundle. Definitely not the place for me.

Fantastic experience: It was my favourite in Reading, however: Ruined from running the new membership drive for too long and overcrowding. Also the pool has gone cloudy due to lack of cleaning and gave me an ear infection. Many of the new members don't shower before entering to steam-room so I don't go in there any more. No shower gel in showers fir a month now. This adds to the overall shared level of higeane in the pool and shows a lack of duty-of-care and focus on priorities from the current management. *** Edit Jan 2022 - I updated this from 1 star to 5 stars because new manager Liam has turned it all around.****

Instead was faced with a dirty changing room, there was someone’s clothes left all over the shower but no one in the changing room itself and then on poolside there was a group of about 10 lads that were just sat in the hot tub being rather loud and swapping between the hot tub and the steam room which then minimised the opportunity for others to use. When I did finally get a chance to use the hot tube after about 2 mins was then bombard my the group of lads again. So got out and left. All in all a very disappointing visit and I hope someone can take the time to read this and hopefully I hear back from you soon.
Fantastic experience: Well equipped gym and pool with sauna /steam room and jacuzzi. The pool is often quite busy.

Negative experience: Mismanaged.No Doubt the rating is poor. The place is managed unbelievably bad. It use to be a quality, professionally run place when Darren was the Manager, not anymore. No surprise most of the good trainers and staff have left. The senior management of the group should look into this, it used to be a lovely place once upon a time!
Negative experience: Smelly mens changing rooms. No Soap, No Shampoo everything is falling apart. Very poorly managed
Negative experience: I was looking for a posher gym. Thought I'd give it a try so took a day pass. I lasted maybe 20 mins and then went back to PureGym instead. Will not be going there again. Machines are antiquated. Very crammed space. Probably fit one bench in the work space and that's it. It has one smith machine. It's got cardio machines but nothing spectacular. Most of the equipment looks rusty. If your staying in the hotel, I guess its adequate but wouldn't subscribe to it for long term membership. Didn't try the pool, sauna, jacuzzi etc. so can't comment on that.
Negative experience: The swimsuits dryer is broken and after more than one month it's still not there, the last excuse is that "they are difficult to repair " when one of them new costs less than one night at this hotel.
Negative experience: Had to drop my rating, I thought it a bit naughty to give pool closure notice for 2 weeks just as direct debit is about to come out, so you have no option but pay monthly fee even if you don't use the gym :(((
Positive experience: Still a few small problems but things have improved dramatically with the new management. Great efforts are being made to reward members loyalty and deal with problems in a timely manner

Negative experience: I will explain my 1 Star rating, so please read it all. My Wife got a corporate membership for both of us based on the misleading advertisement. We trusted what was advertised on their website and on other platforms that they have posted. So we decided to do the membership. Our first bad experience started when their member of staff was rude with my wife when she was enquiring about confirmation of the membership not being sent after weeks, compensation was promised after few complaints but the promise was never fulfilled. Second, when we found out that the pool was under maintenance (for just few months without any notice). Third when I saw the gym the size of a bedroom and a half with few outdated and out of order machines, lack of equipment and lack of space.They refuse to cancel the contract and claims that all the facilities are 1st class. I took time to write this review not out of anger but to give a true glimpse of this place for what they claim. It's not worth the price and the effort comparing it to other places with high class service and facilities around. Please check all their facilities before hand(which we couldn't do unfortunately)

Positive experience: We have been using the gym and spa for the last 3 weeks with no problems
Positive experience: Me and my wife went there for spa day. We used some of treatments and facilities. Swimming pool, jacuzzi, dry sauna, steam room was open. At the beginning you could see s lot of kids in swimming pool but after half hour get quiet. We spend there around three hours and we was very relaxed. Staff polite. Changing rooms and toilets clean. Probably we will visit this place again.
Negative experience: Very poor customer service and old, outdated equipment I and my husband signed up for corporate membership from Jan 2019. When I called up the club on 3 Jan to ask for our membership details, I received a rather rude and unprofessional treatment from one of the employees (William) whose words were “I don’t know what you want from us - ask GymFlex for your membership details”. I was shocked, not least because GymFlex had instructed us that the club would reach out to us to provide the details! This prompted me to check the Google reviews and I was horrified to read what members and visitors to the club had to say. Therefore, after some consideration I requested cancellation of our membership on 4 Jan, with 0 visits. Alas, the club wouldn’t let go of our money so easily- they said they wouldn’t aporove the cancellation as they didn’t understand why I wanted that, plus they lied that they’ve been trying to contact me via emails to let me know the membership details! I had received not a single email or even an apology phone call! This was the worst customer service experience I had ever had in my life till that point. Anyway, it soon became clear that the club relied so much on our money that they wouldn’t let us go - I find this absolutely shameful!! Finding ourselves in despair, we decided we’d at least visit hoping to give them the benefit of the doubt. Our first visit was not great - we were not provided with any explanation as to the location and usage of the facilities- we were just rushed into the club being told that ‘we could figure it out’! At the end of that first visit we requested that we are sent the schedules of classes and any treatments provided at the club, and provided our email addresses! We received no email at all.... Today was our 2nd visit - this time to the gym. The space is limited and the machines are rather outdated compared to our popular gyms (such as The Gym). The atmosphere is rather unwelcoming as well... On our way out we requested again to be sent the activities schedules but again haven’t received anything. It’s very unprofessional, to say the least! Their staff don’t seem like qualified personnel at all. Absolutely regret signing up! Please don’t make that mistake!

Negative experience: Avoid this place! Gone downhill and not worth taking a membership out. Only interested in taking your money and not proving a service. Management team are rude and arrogant. Was promised an email about my concerns from the operations manager on the 26/11/2018, nothing! Finally sent an email on 24/01/2019, 2 months later! Its no wonder that all the decent staff suddenly left! In all the years I was a member I only ever had an induction at the gym, no follow up at all. Please don't waste your money!
Negative experience: The pool has been closed for 2 months (with a brief reopening for 1 week and then it broke again!). Management has been very unhelpful regarding refunds of membership fee, no offer has been made so far! For members who only use the pool, this is totally unacceptable!!
Negative experience: • Upon arrival the reception was chaotic with one person on duty and a load of unhappy children as the swimming pool was closed due to high chlorine levels • The therapist told us she was a temp and did not know what treatments she was doing as she had a list and no treatment against them. • We then heard her ask what temperature the hot stones needed to be – (not good when you know they are going to be used on you) • We had ask for robes and when given them they were dirty with sweat stains on them • The changing rooms hadn’t been cleaned and there were dirty towels everywhere • The jacuzzi was out of order and were where not made aware of this when we booked on Wednesday • When the pool eventually opened there was no section laned off for normal swimmers as very noisy baby /toddler lesson were going on • The water fountain was hot – this must be a health and safety hazard – Jordan did bring some bottled water for us • We chased for robes – but they never arrived • We booked lunch for 12.15 and it arrived at 12.40, I had a treatment booked at 12.45 • The hot deli sandwich was cold and came with no fries when I asked the bar man he rolled his eyes and eventually came out with fries. • I advised the spa I would be late for the treatment and they said it was fine but when I arrived she said would have to cut my treatment short and made me bad!!!!! • I was not asked or complete a health questionnaire – standard practise – again health and safety!
Negative experience: I give them NO STARS. The place has gone downhill the swimming pool is always closed its closed more times then it's open! There's no classes any more you pay a lot of money for nothing, I have complained to the Hotel management if that's what you call them they don't care they just don't want to know very very unprofessional!

Positive experience: The health Club has Everything needed for a basic training: cardio Equipment incl. 2 Concept2 rowers, dumbbells and a view Kettlebells, leg press. What was missing for me was a Rack and some free barbells and medballs to do my crossfit excersises.
Negative experience: Sadly my wife and daughter cancelled their membership today as the pool water was cloudy and dirty and jacquzzi bath was not working . This was the second time in month the pool was left in a disgraceful state for members. If Monday is going to a maintenance day then the pool should be closed for safety's sake whilst it is being fixed. They are very lucky that they did not get a visit from the Council EHO !
Fantastic experience: Excellent club: great facilities - including a Spa with a medium-sized swimming pool - and very friendly and helpful staff.

Fantastic experience: I was looking for a mobile spa in Berkshire area and found Windsor Beauty Therapist. I called Windsor Beauty Therapist for a friends birthday with a group of 5 girls. Mariana and her staff were amazing, professional, and all around fun to be with! The products she used were natural and smelled great! I would definitely use their services again and highly recommend them.
