Our comment from FitFit UK about Acton Centre:
Welcome to Acton Centre, a modern and community-driven sports facility in London. The centre offers a variety of amenities including a gym, swimming pool, and fitness classes that appeal to individuals of all ages.
Highlights of Acton Centre include:
- Affordability: Memberships are priced competitively, making it a budget-friendly option for those who want to stay active.
- Clean Facilities: Many users appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities during their visits, particularly in the mornings.
- Diverse Classes: The centre offers over 60 group exercise classes weekly to cater to a wide range of fitness interests.
- Friendly Staff: Most visitors commend the helpfulness of the instructors and front desk staff, enhancing the experience.
- Family-Friendly: The swimming lessons for children receive high praise for being engaging and effective, with dedicated instructors.
However, there are some areas that require improvement:
- Management Issues: Many guests have reported concerns regarding the management's responsiveness to feedback and overall organization, particularly in handling cancellations and maintaining facilities.
- Inconsistent Service: Some users experienced a lack of communication regarding lesson cancellations which often leads to disappointment.
- Cleanliness Concerns: While some facilities are clean, others, particularly changing areas, have been described as needing more attention. Instances of dirty conditions and broken equipment were noted.
- Overcrowding: During peak times, guests have reported overcrowded swimming lanes and long waiting times to access facilities.
Despite these challenges, many patrons still find value in the Acton Centre due to its pricing and dedicated staff. Continuous improvements are expected as management takes feedback seriously to enhance the overall experience.

Acton Centre: Opinions
Negative experience: USELESS MANAGEMENT- Never at thé office - never call back And no response to enquiries USELESS and No TRANSPARENT ORGANISATION can’t complain the max is complaint about the management is to the management . I WANT MY MONEY BACK !! SWIMMING LESSONS STAGE 10 on FRIDAY are just a joke. The teachers doesnt't correct any mistake and even they finished 6 and 11 minutes earlier the lessons. I reported it to the reception staff in november. Nothing imporved really as the teachers most of the time doesn't look the children and no correction. So the children doesn't imporve. I submited 2 writen enquires to ask a full refund for the previous and current memebership as I paid one month in advace and my son wont attend anymore. So basically I asked for a refund of the January and Februry lessons. the manager suggested just a refund of 1 or 2 lessons! The biggest disapointing joke. Clairly, the issue hasnot taken seriously. So, avoird this time and this level if you want your children improve. Parents are less pressent in the pool comparing with other stages and most of them doesn't look the children just their phones,.. so most of the teachers doesn't do their work properly and the management doesn't care.
Fantastic experience: Always very clean, gym well equipped and friendly, not butch or aggressive at all. Pool is good too.
Positive experience: Lets start with the good things Everyone Active Acton is cheap - about a quarter of the price of Mode/W3/Virgin and sixth of David Lloyd. Since all I do here is swim its hard to argue with that. Its convenient. For me at least. Its clean when I go (morning) but I'm told later in the day its not clean. The staff who work here are pleasant and willing to help, but really they don't have any control over the place. The management are really disconnected, you feel bad telling the staff something is broken because they usually know already and nobody is bothering to fix it. (Showers and toilets stay broken for months.) Even the front line managers are pretty powerless and poorly informed. Everyone pushes you to the app, and the app is truly awful. Slow, cumbersome, too many notifications (you have a class tomorrow! you had a class today! don't forget your session!) so you switch them off. The app frequently doesn't sync with reality (it often lets you book slots on days they are closed and it rarely shows bank holiday opening hours correctly). The senior management clearly don't understand technology and haven't made it anyones job to make sure the technology works even though they want you to use it. The website isn't much better, particularly if you want to contact them. I can't comment on the telephone service as I gave up telephoning them years ago; call after call after call went unanswered so I just stopped. Its actually easier to walk in and do it in person - if they right person is there; and if the staff on the desk have been told. When you do raise a query with them they may well not know and on occasions give the opposite answer. Basically senior management fail to communicate at every opportunity. Its when things go wrong that you see how bad the management are. "Customer service" is a complete oxymoron at Everyone. They even fine you if you don't attend a slot you booked. (I could pay a penalty fine every week and it would still be cheaper than the local alternatives!) This shouldn't be a surprise, the people who use the centre aren't the actual customers: the council are the customers and they probably award the contract to the cheapest supplier. In summary: it is cheap and the staff you meet are nice so just accept the rest. On that basis I've been using it for years and will probably continue to do so (unless this review gets me banned!)
Positive experience: Staff was friendly and swimming teacher was nice but unfortunately the hairdryers were not working. Hoping management will fix the issue asap.
Negative experience: The duty manager, Jamie, has stolen my phones from the pool side. Instead of suspending him, the centre decided to block my membership and refused a refund. I will be attend ing regardless until my refund is sorted but in the meantime, I send a warning regarding a thief called JAMIE. Best believe, the other employees refused to help me and instead supported their colleague when I confronted them.
Negative experience: We have been coming to the swimming centre for a few years, we feel facilities and customer services really need improving, the place has limited showers with long queues, shower temperature could be anywhere from freezing cold to boiling hot. Most hair dryers are broken. Changing rooms are quite crowded. We carry on coming as the current swimming teacher Ms T is very good, but we cant say the same about some other teachers, they shout at small children to the point they cry and unwilling to carry on with their lesson, they are also rude to children about their performance. Also there are a couple of incredibly rude and dismissive staff at the desk and by the pool who are unhelpful and barks at parents to take their shoes off repeatly. We were all waiting with our children for their lessons to start yet we were told we were not allowed to wait wearing our shoes and to leave our children to be collected by the teachers. First of all for the whole length of time we had been coming teachers never collect children and it's up to the parents to bring children to the lessons' location. To tell parents to leave children like that is completely unacceptable, no right minded parent would leave their child alone by the pool. Perhaps you should provide a safe and appropriate waiting area. Secondly other swimming pools provide covers for shoes, Acton does not, so that is unhelpful on their part. Thirdly, we were not wondering around at poolside with shoes on, we were just standing to wait. Fourthly, this male staff proceeded to raise his voice at the parents waiting and we felt harassed. Please provide training to your staff, good customer service is vital to a good business otherwise you will lose customers and word will spread. The 2 stars are for the good teachers and the polite and helpful staff.
Fantastic experience: Great experiences when using the facilities and swimming lessons. They are always spotless. The swimming instructor, Veronica is absolutely wonderful with kids of all ages. Stephanie on the front desk staff, is a tremendous asset with her knowledge and excellent communication skills. Abigail is also another amazing member of the team and helped us when we needed some steering with changing classes. Very lucky to have such excellent facilities on our doorstep and a great team of staff.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, lots of different fitness classes to choose, great facilities and female gym its great.
Negative experience: Very poorly managed and organised. We’ve been attending swimming lessons there for two years. Teachers change constantly so there is no consistently. The quality of instruction is hit or miss. Sometimes they don’t turn up at all. Our class is supposed to be advanced but there is no regulation of ability so we have fast experienced swimmers trying to train in one single lane with barely intermediate swimmers. Sometimes we are kicked out before our lesson ends because the operations manager has decided that other groups take priority. He is not polite about it either. We have also experienced bad behaviour and bullying in the pool which staff did nothing to stop. At one point, I saw a senior member of staff call a woman over and chat to her for ages. She did not realise she had fallen out of her swimsuit top and he was enjoying the view. I brought it to her attention and she was clearly distressed by the situation. The facility is not well organised when it comes to handicapped users and I have seen handicapped swimmers reduced to tears by the lack of accommodation and clear policy. This place needs a major management overhaul!
Positive experience: Been a member for about 7 years. Overall a good and affordable option when compared to private clubs. Facilities are very good and clean although maintenance issues arise from time to time, like A/C or lifts. Instructors are enthusiastic and effective.
Negative experience: I tried to redeem a free day pass today but I got the same error message 3 times. I asked the receptionist twice for help but all I got was follow the instructions on the email and register. I would have appreciated some help from her.
Negative experience: Dear Manager I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share some feedback regarding my recent experiences at your facility. As a regular visitor, I appreciate the services you provide and the efforts your team puts into maintaining a welcoming environment. However, I have encountered a couple of issues that I believe need to be addressed to improve the overall guest experience. Firstly, during a visit on end of June, I inquired at the reception about booking the swimming pool for me and my son. I was informed that the pool was fully booked. However, upon checking the app, I found that there were 19 spaces available, and I was able to make the booking without issue. This discrepancy suggests a lack of communication or knowledge among the reception staff, which can be frustrating for guests. Secondly, on another occasion, I visited the library for the first time and was unsure if I could bring my pram inside. When I asked at the reception, the staff member consulted a colleague in a red shirt, who responded abruptly with "NO SHE CAN'T." This interaction felt dismissive and inappropriate. I believe a more courteous response would have been, "I'm sorry, you can take the pram with you." As someone who works in hospitality in central London, I understand the importance of excellent customer service. If I were to respond to a guest in such a manner, it would be deemed unacceptable. I hope you will consider addressing these issues to ensure that all visitors have a positive experience at your facility. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Kind regards, Daniela
Negative experience: I am writing to express my disappointment with the handling of an incident at the leisure centre. Yesterday, my son and I accidentally left his scooter in the parent section after his swimming class. Today, we called the leisure centre to inquire if it had been found. Unfortunately, we were told that it was not there. We then requested if the staff could check the CCTV footage to see if the scooter was taken. To our surprise, our request was dismissed outright, and we were made to feel that it was an unreasonable and absurd request. When we asked where in the policy it states that CCTV footage cannot be checked in such circumstances, the manager, rather than providing a clear explanation, decided to hang up the phone. We are appalled by the lack of professionalism and empathy shown by the staff, particularly the manager who's name is ( VERA ). Their unwillingness to assist in a simple request has left us feeling undervalued and frustrated. We have now reported this incident to the police as a theft. We hope that the leisure centre will take this feedback seriously and review their customer service policies to prevent such unpleasant experiences in the future. Furthermore, I intend to share this experience with our 70,000 followers on Instagram to inform them about what they might encounter at Acton Leisure Centre. If they decide to sign up, they should be aware of the poor customer service and lack of empathy we experienced
Negative experience: Normally it's ok...but customer service for cancelled lesson is so bad ....we went for swimming all the way from Southall to Acton and no one told us in advance that there is no lesson today untill we reach there... They need to forward a email atleast or phone call just to let us know about cxxld.lesson by them and they shouldn't charge us for that....
Negative experience: Beware! One would expect they would reimburse part of the monthly payment if a class gets canceled, or at least provide an alternative date to make up for the cancelled class, but no. Tried calling several times during their usual opening hours - no one bothers to pick up the phone. The quality and customer service of this facility is dropped significant.
Fantastic experience: I can only review the swimming pool because I use it a lot. For adult swim on fast lines is not very busy. The membership is decent price for swimming only. People who work behind Reception desk are friendly and helpful. Can recommend this place
Negative experience: I am using the swimming pool, the main issue for me is the hygiene! They never clean that swimming pool you can't imagine what you can see every day there! The changing room and the toilet nobody cleaning! The have to pay more attention! Very expensive for what is offering!
Fantastic experience: good value for what it is. functional, lots of classes and swimming for kids is decent.
Negative experience: The worst leisure/fitness company ever. The approach of the staff is as they don’t care about customers and same goes for their sales team and head office.
Negative experience: Very Disappointing Experience at the Swimming Pool-cancelled my membership-read before you want to go For the past three years, my daughter has been attending swimming lessons at our local pool. Initially, our experiences were positive; however, the quality of service has significantly declined over the last eighteen months, affecting everything from teaching quality to customer care to facility cleanliness, including persistently out-of-service hairdryers in the female changing room. Despite these issues, we continued to attend this facility due to its comparatively lower cost. Today, however, an incident occurred that prompted me to cancel our membership immediately, on the spot. My daughter was supposed to start Stage 8 of her swimming lessons today with a new instructor we had not met. When I requested the appropriate swim cap for this stage from the reception, the staff member, seemingly inexperienced, provided a cap that was the same color as the previous stage. Despite my double-checking, he assured me it was the correct one. As the lesson time approached, my daughter positioned herself under the Stage 8 sign, but by 3:07 PM, no instructor had arrived. Concerned, I returned to the reception to request assistance, only to find the staff disengaged, chatting idly, and showing no urgency to address our concern. Despite my daughter's visual impairment affecting her ability to react from a distance, the reception staff was unhelpful and one individual even refused outright to verify the presence of the instructor. By 3:17 PM, 17 minutes into a 30-minute lesson, with my daughter visibly upset and still unattended, I finally thought that the swim cap might be the issue. Indeed, it was the wrong color, leading to our confusion and my daughter being overlooked by the passing instructor, who failed to engage with her. At 3:20 PM, I comforted my distraught daughter and we left the facility for the last time. The indifference and lack of professionalism displayed by multiple staff members today, not only inconvenienced us but also caused significant distress to my daughter. I have canceled our membership and will be requesting a refund. I feel it's important to share our experience to inform others of the declining standards and poor customer service at this facility. Do not go!
Positive experience: Smart modern complex much needed in area. Contains stores such as Lidl, KFC, Poundland and Iceland but needs more stores as is quite sparse.
Negative experience: One of the reception was not respectable he was wearing yellow
Negative experience: Where do i begin...So much dirt in spots particularly the mens changing area... one evening i literally spotted a mouse in the waiting area a fortnight ago too... its a tiny gym so i wouldnt ask for anything elaborate...but the pool could do with an overhaul...just found it grimey...a contrast from the other everyone actives i know. i wont call out the abrasive members of staff (they've been mentioned already)..needs a shake up in this place. Anyhow i'm pleased to move on to a better center nearby for 2024. I hope the relevant investors will address these issues in the future...Acton deserves better.
Positive experience: Great spot for kids birthday parties. Decently maintained and well organized. The pool temperature always seems wrong (colder than it should be), so this may not be for you if you’ll feel the cold. Overall, though, a good venue. Parking could be a challenge but there’s a parking lot behind the centre.
Fantastic experience: Great community sense, especially between members attending classes. 60+ group exercise classes a week, there's something to suit everyone. Classes are very popular and often fully booked, generally speaking it's possible to book in on the day though due to last minute cancellations. I really like the pool, although it can be a bit noisy when the swimming lessons are on. Cleanliness could be improved, however there's considerably less staff in the gym than a few years ago and due to PT tasters staff is often busy with members, not to mention it's rather unrealistic to expect one person to do the same workload that was previously 2-3 people's job. I've seen reviews complaining about broken equipment, no mention of why equipment breaks though... which is most often misuse (slamming weight/cable machines, holding onto screens on treadmill, etc), spraying screens and equipment directly instead of spraying cloth/tissue and then wiping the equipment. Of course things will rust/break. For the price of the membership this leisure centre offers great value
Positive experience: Actually pretty good not sure why such bad reviews the pool area can do with a revamp tho and more cleaning. Also more treadmills in gym
Negative experience: Very badly managed and the local authority should do something. Held on phone 44 minutes no answer. All facilities everything going downhill.
Positive experience: A good experience using the pool and the library. A morning well spent and a chance to meet some interesting people.
Negative experience: One star for Olek. Not professional and not helpful person... I just ask why every Thursday is a mess with teachers and why kids start lessons late then I get answer " I don't know you can change company... " I'm very disappointed with experience what I have with this place because they cannot sort out problem.
Fantastic experience: Great service. Nice team. Fair price.
Negative experience: The womens gym is charged the same but the machines available are not the same and most are out of order for months at a time. Its very rarely dusted or cleaned. I have complained a few times and the extremely tall giant mixed race guy laughed in my face so not sure what to make of that! Also at 9.57pm (or 7.57pm on weekends) on the dot the cleaning lady comes into the ladies gym and says “the gym is closed and tells us to leave” well no the gym closes at 10pm not 9.57pm? Also they allow the gym goers in the main gym to stay well past 10pm with no cleaning lady challenging them! If it wasnt for the location I would have swapped gym ages ago because on weekends u open at 8am and close at 8pm whereas all the other gyms open earlier and close later. The ladies gym is very rarely dusted and cleaned - i see the same dust and dirt for months - disgusting. Thankfully i dont use the shower facilities there. The ladies trainer Mounia is lovely and sweet but agree with the other reviewer she is really loud to the point you can hear her over whatever you are listening to on your device. Lots of broken bits in the swimming pool changing rooms too - this centre desperately needs a refurb!
Positive experience: Very good place to swim exercise and libraries as well, I really do like the place so quiet to do your activity. I guess is the best place in Acton for kids or adult
Negative experience: I'm not normally one to write reviews but I'm so done with this gym - I've just cancelled my membership here - the quality of service and kit is going down rapidly and whenever i go, the kit I want to use is always out of order. I use the women's gym, the kit is very old, and at my last visit I wasn't able to even put the pin into the weight I needed on one of the machines because it's so old and rusty. The staff there are not approachable and are quite cold. The gym is filthy and not cleaned - dust everywhere. Also, the women's toilets are disgusting - very dirty inside the actual toilet if you get what I mean. Outta there!
Negative experience: The manager Tanisha here does an absolute disservice to the company, in which I will be taking this to head office of the brand. Extremely arguementative, AGGRESSIVE and hostile ; not a people's person at all. Absolute disgusting demeanor on the phone. Very animalistic approach when she should understand that when speaking to customers to uphold a neutral stance instead of " mean girl bully mode". This company took direct debits for almost a year despite having cancelled, my son only attended one class. Beware with the trustworthiness of them holding bank details. I only realised via an accidental call months down the line regarding a class that had been cancelled to which I was taken back as explained my son isn't a member. Tanisha if also dealing with any issue should it occur, acts very defensive and bullys like a bull with horns. My son is autistic and didn't find the set up was for him. As a brand who deals with youth, I'm appalled in the way which Tanisha speaks to people. Awful example. Contrary the workers ( female receptionist and a male I spoke to ) were lovely. Tanisha would do well to learn from them. I would like to be directed to Tanisha's senior and higher authority of the brand regarding my experience.
Negative experience: Not really taken care and most of the time, almost anyone can come in to swim and it’s very dirty. They don’t even take their shoes of when strangers go to the poolside. Tip from me: always wear your sandals/flippers if you don’t want to get your feet infected.
Negative experience: Iam now considering to start petition on the unhygienic ways of acton lesuire centre. I have a chronology of photos from the past 18 months if not longer. To prove that the short Asian lady does nothing but empty the odd bin wip floors and chat. She refuses to wipe down tiles clean cubical check the tiles and grout that have never been disinfected or Scrub since the day it opened. The womens gym is Totally ignored and yesterday there was bugs on the very dirty carpet. The cleaner that plays the music in the evening cleans the communal areas well. But no deep cleaning for changing areas and from what the gents tell me there shower area is dirty too. It seems they dont know the difference between tidying up and real cleaning for health and safety. So now we will be going ahead to environmental health let them deal with it . Also the womens gym is not a good place in the morning anymore as the young lady instructor with the hijab is so loud talking for the whole world to hear not even the music can downed her out. AND It's not even about exercise. It's very unsettling although she's very polite. Time for everyone to stop complaining in the changing rooms and take Acton
Positive experience: Good facility, will be good to have more people to help at the information desk and also a short induction to new joiners will be hwlpful
Negative experience: I am very dissatisfied abut Swimming lessons Poor management, because you do not find solutions to problems because, it is difficult to find a manager on the site Teacher called Martin has very poor behaviour with kids & parents, and do not teach properly.
Negative experience: Toilet always busy by the cleaners. Too busy.i I'll change gym. There's literally 3 way of scanning the membership Card before I can get in. Ridiculous
Negative experience: Absolute joke. My daughters swimming lessons are constantly cancelled, total chaos in management and constant excuses why the teacher changes every week for the last year
Fantastic experience: Gym is not to big but new and have everything. I'm happy to going there.
Negative experience: The gym is quite small. 5 treadmills, 5 cycles. They are all compact and not much space to walk around. The membership (£25) includes both gym and swimming pool. I guess the selling point is the swimming pool, not the gym.
Negative experience: Took them 3 years to fix a hair dryer
Negative experience: Barely anyone at reception most of the time no one Very poor customer service been trying to call all day today and yesterday and no one answers the phone …. Also ladies gym could do with a spring clean
Negative experience: Very affordable but very poorly managed. I appreciate swimming is very underrated in London, however (and that applies to private clubs as well) some things are just not acceptable. You could puke just after crossing the gates. Everybody wear their shoes in the changing rooms which leave the floor muddy, HAIR, DIRT you name it it's on the floor mixed with water from the pool. I've seen children bare foot walking around then jumping to the pool... Why!? Don't even get me started on the pool... Mold everywhere I don't wanna know what's on the bottom of the pool but it floats and swims together with you, even more mold, children EVERYWHERE. WHY WOULD PEOPLE AGREE TO SUCH STANDARDS? No idea. The only reason I go there is bcs I can't do any other sports and my poor a** is broke but seriously taking advantage of all people who just want to teach their children swimming and don't have a fortune on private swimming pools (which also happen to be gross, if anyone has recommendation please share). I don't know what's on the surfaces but imagine all dirt from outside plus people's crusty feet and don't even know what else from their private parts soaking off in the water ... Jesus fix it please
Positive experience: We've had ups and downs with Acton Centre, with our kids attending weekly swimming lessons. In the six months after COVID lockdowns it was really unreliable with lessons cancelled with no notice, but they have massively improved since then. The instructors are really good, friendly, patient, and communicative with the children and importantly, pro-active in moving children up through the stages when they're ready, so I feel like my kids are making good progress. The pool is generally clean and the receptionists are really helpful and friendly (where previously they seemed a bit aloof) I definitely recommend the place for children's swimming lessons.
Fantastic experience: I would like to write this review Just because the service I received from Vera from the contract team . This lady is star , Helpfull, nice talking and very Passionate for her job she helped me with everything patiently I would like to thank her from here .
Negative experience: I would give 0 if that was possible. Need cleaning it's dirty.
Negative experience: DO NOT USE!!!! Absolutely shocking, dirty and poorly maintenaned club with helpfulness of staff equal to jellyfish. I have been a loyal member on and off from 2015, using Acton, Elephant an Castle and Bishop's Stortford branches. Acton is the worst and never been maintenaned since opening. Constantly blocked toilets and sinks, lights are broken (sometimes I had to take a shower in the darkness!!), AC is not functioning, showers smell sewage, swimming pool is falling apart, filthy wet changing rooms especially at the evening after all school kids swimming lessons, water fountains are out of order, some machines are not working, vending machine never disposes bottles, membership cards are not scanning properly, you get charged for non attendance when you attend. Staff are so unprofessional and basically act like it's their first day at work. Unbelievable - you still see sales people get more people in!
Positive experience: Small male and female changing rooms. 4 group changing rooms and only 2 family cubicles. Group showed = only 3. (1of which is broken) Location is good and bus stops right out side. If not a member getting booking can be challenging as they have very limited spaces for swimming due to a limited amount of life guards they have. Venue is clean.
Positive experience: It's good but a bit to deep for an 8 year old
Negative experience: Years ago the staff was nice and competent- during the last few years I don't know what happened -the level of incompetence and lower customer service reached the sky. I am still attending these facilities ONLY because it is the only swimming pool walking distance from where I live, if I had had another choice I would have stopped using their facilities long time ago. Save money and time if you can
Positive experience: Very modern, clean building/poolside. However, there is no music.
Positive experience: Needs a bit of maintenance like more hairdryers and improved showers but overall completely adequate. Good pool temperature, warm changing rooms. Not at all dirty and crowded on a weekday afternoon, however a completely different picture in the evening. Eight people in one fast lane with absolutely no management when some should clearly be in other lanes.
Positive experience: It is not at the required level and also requires a long time, perhaps extending to a year, to transfer the trainee to the next level
Negative experience: It's good value for money, but overcrowded and clearly overbooked during summer. Forget to book swimming any time during weekend, because even if you get slot, they will cancel.
Negative experience: Male wet side changing room is like a swamp dust and dirt everywhere, smells awful Swimming pools - dirty Gym- well maintained and staff helpful. No soap on dry side changing rooms. Soap dispenser not even there lol
Negative experience: This could be a great place but ….. it has quickly become really chaotic, disorganised and dirty with random people walking in and out of the changing areas, people standing around the pool with dirty outdoor shoes and many with camera phones. The staff just seem to have given up with who enters and wanders around! Someone in management needs to make a bold decision about who enters the pool and changing area and to not allow people to stand poolside or hang around outside the changing rooms so members are blocked from using them. If you are watching your children while they swim, there is a designated spectator area only. People should only stand poolside if they change into swimming gear and flip flops, especially for hygiene reasons. If you do use this centre, never ever go barefoot poolside and never expect a relaxing experience at weekends when you will be faced with most of the pool blocked off for lessons, filthy changing rooms and general chaos. It’s become a really busy centre and at times appears to be a full time crèche and school sports facility. It’s either a leisure centre or a full time children’s swimming club, not both.
Negative experience: Classes are ok but the service is not great. I attended a class yesterday and today received a £4 penalty for not attending this class. A bit absurd. The class teacher dis not check the list of attendees and there is no place to swipe your card anywhere (apart from the swimming pool entrance). So, how do they even know if I attended or not? I called them today a few times but noone is picking up, although someone should be at reception. Every time I go past reception they dont seem to be too busy, so why not pick up the phone? Will, have to go there in person.
Negative experience: Horrible experience at the kids swimming pool. No communication. The place is super dirty. No professionalism at all. The teachers didn’t even pay attention to my son, didn’t engage him to swim even though he was scared to swim by himself. Worthless place.
Negative experience: The staff are SO rude. they have extremely bad attitudes and look at you like you shouldn’t be there. I would never attend this leisure centre again in my life unless staff are changed.
Negative experience: The swimming pool is very good, but everybody around the pool walks in shoes and is dirty everywhere because of this. it's disgusting! And managers rubbish. For them don't care everything.
Negative experience: The swimming pool could have good potential but otherwise it is exasperating to receive such poor treatment to the customers after paying a lot for four classes of 30 minutes a month. Everything is incredibly dirty and stinky. The staff in reception is rude and unfriendly, they need to find educated and kind people for that job. The lifeguards are not doing their job. Unfortunately worst pool I have ever seen, needs a manager change asap
Negative experience: The place is okay, but the swimming changing area is incredibly dirty. Hair all over the floor creases on the floor, and more horrible activity happening here. A few times we got cancelled because the showers had cold water running. I recommend to use another centre or swimming pool around London.
Negative experience: If they rebrand their service for swimming lessons to water play then it's fine. Otherwise it's complete rubbish service that noone knows where the swimming teachers are, noone cares to inform you about cancelled lessons until you are next to the pool ready for swimming. Their managers don't care to respond emails. They charge you for cancelled lessons. Their receptionists are robots to tell you that they are sorry and to havnd you the email address of managers who just don't care. Other than above it's fine.
Positive experience: I really think this gym is great. the instructors are highly skilled and hard working but the reception and team members seem a bit all over the place. When I say this I mean the gym could be a bit cleaner. Sometimes I show up and there is one receptionist or they are inside the door next to the reception. It's like there are not enough staff available. Also problems with the spinning class and not clearing the chairs and table before I mean we are paying for a service, it seems like the staff in general think they are doing as a favour.
Negative experience: Our worst ever experience with kids lessons. We have joined on 05/09/2021 and until today 10/10/2021 we had 3 out of 6 lessons cancelled. The worst thing is you never would be informed about this until you change the kids cloths and enter to a swimming pool. Our son is very kin to swim, and now every second Sunday he comes back in tears. Why the hell on Earth the receptionist can't call parents to advise about the cancellation. It would allow parents not to spend Sunday morning for a fun journey to the pool and back. When the receptionist is asked for the reason of not calling parent, she just says I have not time. The receptionist is absolutely rude. Even if there is no lesson and the receptionist couldn't call the parents, why the teacher can't meet parents at the entrance and say the lesson is cancelled. Why not to put any advertisement at the entrance, to allow parents know there is no lesson before kids are completely changed and excited about swimming. The swimming teacher even doesn't come to a pool to say sorry when the lesson is cancelled due to a lifeguard being not available. If you value your time and money, think twice about choosing the pool. I know it is cheaper than others in a neighbourhood, but you will have no lessons for the money you pay.
Negative experience: Worst Gym/swimming place to go to. Firstly, the receptionists (all ladies) unprofessional, does not know how to speak to people, dismissive, and has the worst attitudes. I am not asking to be friends with them but I expect some respect as a client not to be dismissed when I have not even started speaking. Unbelievable attitudes. 2nd, the place is so dirty. Lots of grime in the shower area, toilets do not have toilet paper, mosquitoes everywhere. 3rd, they always cancel swimming lessons and will just say they called you, even if they don’t. And when you ask for evidence, they will say how can I give you evidence when it’s a phone call because they are lying people. Liars, liars. We make effort to wake up early and pay parking only to be told every week that swimming lesson is cancelled. You should look closely to your staffing. They are unprofessional, incompetent people who will put the whole business down. Avoid this place unless you want headache and disappointments every time you go and be faced with miserable staff.
Negative experience: Haven't been in the gym so can't say anything about that. But the pool, is badly managed, and the changing area is disgusting.
Positive experience: The doors of the changing rooms are broken. And the pool is tiny. Not recommended.
Fantastic experience: Great place, clean and very happy with customer service
Positive experience: Nice swimming pool, pokey changing room.
Negative experience: Twice proofed that they are not professional. My daughter started there when she was 1.5 years old. After one lesson we couldn't take her near to the swimming pool (only at Everyone Active, she was fine in other pools with us). We moved her to a small private pool where she settled easily and got confident in the water and has been swimming there until now. After 6 years we decided to give another chance to Everyone Active Acton as she grew out this previous place. She was in the water for 2 minutes and said that she will never ever will go back there or swim again. The teacher were rude with her and with me, inpatient and unprofessional. After sending a feedback to the centre they ignored my message. Just ruined 6 years of love of water and swimming.
Positive experience: I have mixed feelings about this centre; relatively good facilities and generally not expensive. Maintenance does suffer, and issues I reported several times went unfixed for more than a year. Changing rooms for swim are too small, in poor state of repair and not clean enough, though the pool itself is clean and well maintained. Staff vary (not unexpectedly for a venue of this type) from helpful to completely disinterested and unhelpful.
Fantastic experience: Great Gym. Went with my sister in law and joined a ladies session..very good
Fantastic experience: Staff are always super helpful and personable. Really enjoy the swim classes which are excellent value for money and the teachers are very good. Additionally on the gym classes, I really enjoy Linda's Body Pump and Body Conditioning classes. She really focuses on helping you with correct form and makes the class enjoyable
Positive experience: Solid gym just wish it was open earlier than 8 at the weekend
Negative experience: It could potentially be a great place with good facilities. Unfortunately, it is extremely dirty and neglected. Staff could benefit from a customer service training. Swimming coaches are good and professional.
Positive experience: Not a bad place after all, shame that members' requests and suggestions are not always listened to. It has a great potential and the right means, but I believe they are not used to the full (personal opinion). Staff is always friendly and willing to help most of the times, that makes a big difference.
Positive experience: I use the fitness centre which has a lot of modern equipment and also plenty of free weights. Pay monthly and visit as often as you like for about £50 (adult). I pay as I go at £5.80 a time, which is excellent value.
Fantastic experience: Swim here regularly when I can get a spot- really smooth one way covid system in place that feels secure
Negative experience: Nothing original inside at least architecturally speaking, only the front façade left with all original interiors pulled down a few years ago... :(
Positive experience: The new equipment and gym layout make the main gym much more functional. Haven't been able to use the changing room and the classes are always fully booked so will update accordingly in the future.
Fantastic experience: Very organised place. Clean and staff are very friendly.
Negative experience: Glad to get out for swim pool side really good we went as a family like a few others had, no adequate changing facilities.
Positive experience: So far it's been really good, facilities are nice, I only use the swimming pool for lessons and it's great. No complaints
Positive experience: Basic gym and swimming pool. Some classes. Shared building with social services.
Fantastic experience: love this gym cause it has a woman section only and it makes me more comfortable
Fantastic experience: Great customer service- Thank you to the very kind lady at reception managed to fit us in even though i had messed up our booking- much appreciated!
Fantastic experience: Very great swimming pool feel free to swimming
Negative experience: Horrible website and wouldn't let me or my partner book. Same with the app. Waited for customer services for 30 minutes and then it hung up. Such an annoying message and music on loop too Looking for another gym now...
Fantastic experience: Swimming centre, gym and just a good atmosphere with a lot next to it such as a climbing centre
Negative experience: First time here. Apparently you don't need to be a paying member. Just follow the signs on the floor for the gym, past reception, up the stairs, into the gym, workout, leave. They've closed changing rooms, lockers, and showers because apparently soap and water is actually a bad thing during a pandemic if it's in the context of a gym shower block. :-/ Gym itself was quite nice. Unimpressed with the fact that it's a free for all (except for paying members) and closure of peripheral facilities.
Negative experience: The swimming pool instructors are great but they are all utterly disorganized and they don't follow the swimming stage requirements written on their website. We are now planning to move our son to another swimming pool. Sad because the lady instructor was great. But how can we trust instructors who do not know what stage they are teaching and their requirements. My son started in stage 2 as he is in full time education and could swim over 1 or 2m. According to the stage 2 requirement he completely qualifies. "This stage [STAGE 2] is for children who are in full time education and have no previous swimming experience." During his first session his instructors (Cesar) asked us why we put him in stage 2 as he didn't keep his head under the water long enough. According to the website "If your child is over the age of three and hasn’t swum before, then this is the stage for them. " We were quite surprised as our son is very confident in the water (was floating alone in the Mediterranean sea for 10 minutes). We moved him to stage 1. During the first lesson of [stage 1] the lady instructor told us he is ready for stage 2. We asked her if we needed to move him to stage 2 and she said that was not necessary as she is in fact "teaching both stage one and two. " After two months in stage 1 (with exact same exercises as the ones thought by Cesar in stage two ) she told us our son is learning quick and is ready to move to stage 3. So we go to reception and ask to move him to stage 3. There they say he is in stage one and should go to stage 2. Stage 3 requirements are "If your child can swim five metres on their front and back unaided, then they’ll need to enrol in our Stage 3 lessons. " Which he learned to do over the last 2 month (backward and forward using legs only and no floaters). At this point I am lost for words, despite flagging the issue they don't seem to acknowledge or realise the problem.
Fantastic experience: Lifeguards very polite and professional. Front office staff are helpful.
Fantastic experience: great shopping place, wilko especially useful shop with nice staff
Positive experience: The pool is clean and spacious (double lane so plenty of space). You need to book in advance and there are only 10 people per speed lane so once again, lots of room to swim. Changing rooms are also clean and can be used on the way out for a quick shower.
Fantastic experience: Immaculately clean, capped numbers and plenty of space. There is a one way system for arriving and leaving. Plenty of hand and equipment sanitising stations. Highly comprehensive range of equipment. I feel safe there so well done to the team there. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: I had a lovely swim during the first lockdown!
Fantastic experience: Spacious, clean, a lovely pool and many group sessions.
