Our comment from FitFit UK about Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness & Wellbeing Gym:
Welcome to Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness & Wellbeing Gym, located in the heart of London. This gym boasts a variety of facilities aimed at enhancing your fitness experience. Our members appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities and the helpful staff, making it a pleasant environment to work out. It's equipped with many machines and workout stations, suitable for various fitness routines including cardio and strength training.
However, there are some areas for improvement noted by our members. The opening hours can be limiting, especially on weekends when we close at 6 PM, and there is a one-hour cutoff for entry before closing time. Complaints have been raised about overcrowding during peak hours, leading to waits for equipment. Some users have also commented on the state of certain equipment maintenance and cleanliness in changing areas, which does not meet the high expectations given the membership fees.
Despite these challenges, many members find value in our offerings, particularly our friendly instructors and various fitness classes, which can help enhance your workout routine. If you're looking for a gym that accommodates a wide range of fitness needs and provides a supportive community, Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf could be a suitable choice for you.

Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness & Wellbeing Gym: Opinions
Negative experience: Opening times on the weekends are just ridiculous. It closes at 6 and to add to that they have a 1 hr cutoff. I was 5 mins late and couldn’t get in while I saw someone enter just 2 seconds before.
Positive experience: Decent gym and swimming pool, Clean shower's. The only issue I found was it was 3 floors which is lost time.
Positive experience: ## A Symphony of Suffering at Nuffield Canary Wharf: My Quest for Gym-Induced Zen (Or Lack Thereof) Let me preface this by saying I adore the gym. It's my sanctuary, my happy place, my… well, it *should* be. A place where I can transcend the daily grind, commune with the iron, and emerge feeling invigorated, not violated. And for the most part, Nuffield Canary Wharf has the *potential* to be that place. The equipment is decent, the facilities are clean, and the location is undeniably convenient. But there's a dark cloud hanging over this otherwise promising fitness haven, a sonic torment that transforms my workout from a meditative experience into something akin to a psychological experiment gone wrong: the music. Oh, the music. Where do I even begin? It's not just loud. It's not just bad. It's a carefully curated playlist designed, I suspect, by a committee of tone-deaf squirrels with a penchant for early 2000s pop anthems and the kind of generic dance music that makes you question the very fabric of reality. Imagine the soundtrack to a particularly chaotic teen disco, amplified to the point of pain, and then pumped directly into your eardrums for the duration of your workout. That's the Nuffield Canary Wharf experience. Now, I'm not some grumpy old Luddite who hates all music. I have a rather eclectic taste myself. But this… this is an assault on the senses. It’s so loud that my noise-cancelling headphones – the ones that usually cocoon me in a blissful bubble of my own carefully curated workout soundtrack – are rendered utterly useless. They become mere fashion accessories, clinging desperately to my ears while the sonic tsunami washes over them. I've tried everything. Metal, classical, whale song – nothing can penetrate the wall of sound that emanates from the gym's speakers. It's like trying to whisper sweet nothings during a rock concert. And the truly baffling thing? Look around. Ninety-nine percent of the members are wearing headphones. *Ninety-nine percent*. This isn't a scientific study, just a casual observation, but it speaks volumes (pun intended). It screams, in unison, "Nuffield, nobody wants to listen to your music!" We're paying a premium for this membership, and in return, we're being subjected to a daily aural onslaught. It's like paying for a massage and then being tickled relentlessly for an hour. Sure, it’s *technically* an experience, but it’s not exactly what you signed up for. So, Nuffield Canary Wharf, I implore you: Consider the plight of your headphone-wearing members. Consider the concept of "peace and quiet" during a workout. Consider, perhaps, the possibility that not everyone shares the musical tastes of your resident DJ (whoever they may be). Give us the option. Create a "quiet zone." Or, dare I suggest, *turn the music down*. Just a little. Please. Before we all collectively develop tinnitus. My sanity, and the sanity of my fellow gym-goers, depends on it.
Fantastic experience: Nice gym, has everything you need, all equipment works and you don’t need to queue. However can get a bit overcrowded around 6-7pm but this has improved recently.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, good quality equipment, nice location.
Negative experience: Came here for the first time to try out. None of the front of house staff has been train to inform the guest relating to the app which can link to your phone/ apple watch device in order to save your workout results. Try to explain to them but they haven’t heard that before which is really odd if you work out at the gym and have no knowledge whatsoever! Better train staff, better business guys!!
Negative experience: I go to a few Nuffield branches around London. Nothing about this particular branch feels premium: not very clean, ok equipment, restrictive opening times, strict one-towel and last entry policy :-/
Positive experience: Small pool, old gym equipment, dirty steam room, small place, over crowded . Staff cleaning are useless, 30 minutes to clean the Steam room , Steam room is close between 2pm-2:30 pm , ridiculously.
Positive experience: Spacious gym with a number of machines and equipments but lack of abs equipments. Clean overall. Haven’t tried out the pool yet. The only improvement point is the changing room which is a bit run down that requires renovation
Fantastic experience: Best gym , best staff
Positive experience: Not Bad ! I’ve been to worst, definitely overpriced at £88Mth, the male staff are like a Joke, I’m just at my job not interested in what’s happening in the Gym. The equipment is o.k could be better, could not find a machine to work my Abbs, overcrowded at times. But if you’re not picky and just need a Close Gym to have a workout it works.
Negative experience: Very expensive. Overcrowded. Poor working times (closes at 6pm in the afternoon). Poor kit selection. Takes 5 minutes to connect to WiFi every time. The only redeeming quality is that it’s in an area where there aren’t many gyms.
Negative experience: Avoid! Not worth a penny, called to cancel 12 month membership due to lack of communication in getting membership started that I done online, happened to be swindled with debt recovery agency talks over the phone if I refuse to pay up, gyms side of contract was nor fulfilled and no access to service but expect payments. They won't reply to your emails either. Avoid!
Fantastic experience: Amazing gym located in South Quay. The staff is very helpful especially Rafi, Christina and Elham. I fainted and fell and Christina brought me water and protein bars. Rafi stayed next to me until I was able to move. I really appreciate your help Rafi.
Negative experience: Increase in membership fees despite dated equipment and consistent overcrowding + limited opening hours? It’s a shame Nuffield is starting to venture into the quality of PureGym. Advice - if you want a nice experience join Third Space. If not join PureGym as this gym is not better yet costs double.
Negative experience: TL;DR: Avoid. Pure gym if you are on a budget, third space if you don’t care and the London Aquatic center if you are serious about fitness/training. Gym is way over capacity, machines are at least a decade old, some of which need urgent maintenance. The location might be convenient if you live near by and DLR access is important to you, the membership fee and contracts are way overpriced for its class of gyms (I paid 78 GBP monthly for a year) which is not as cheap as other gyms that are roughly in the same class (pure gym comes to mind and it’s only monthly commitment) and not as nice as fancy gyms like third space. The other aspect is the staff doesn’t care almost about anything (which sounds like a management issue, I don’t think they actually don’t care I reckon they tried and failed). I’m typing this as I haven’t visited since 15th of October and have been trying to cancel my membership since then.
Negative experience: Ryan, very unfriendly staff, rude and unprofessional, kept looking at his phone when he caught a moment during the health test, impatient, even judging my height in a very mean way
Positive experience: Decent equipment but it is always super busy especially the free weight area.
Negative experience: absolutely the worst GYM experience I had. The staff is entitled and rude, the equipment is faulty and subpar. The membership service is downright rude. Do not give them your money.
Negative experience: Average Gym that's overpriced. The monthly rolling cost is over £100 but you get a fairly small average gym that's always packed in the evenings. The opening times are terrible especially on weekends. The contracts are also annoying as hell.
Fantastic experience: Fabulous yoga and pilates instructors!
Fantastic experience: The staff it’s very friendly nice people and nice environment. The only thing it’s tha cable machines it get broke quick and takes long to fix it . The cleaning services 10/10
Fantastic experience: Paige was super helpful and friendly when dealing with my query. Great atmosphere and facility too
Fantastic experience: I have been working out in this gym for last 1 year, Great place, great staff and specifically Khoa, got a personalised workout schedule from him, he has amazing knowledge and experience! Must visit!
Negative experience: I am in 30 days trial with Baltimore Wharf Nuffield health gym as part of 360 Health Assessment offer. People at reception are ok but I was expecting tour for the gym and was not offered. Overall there are lots of cardio and weight equipment but as everyone said in review, it is super packed and you will have to wait for weights. Hygiene at shower room was quite poor. Same goes with steam room. I don't think I would recommend this gym for the price.
Negative experience: Staff other than one lady on reception are the most miserable people you can want at a gym. Place has gone to pop - loads of reviews here and they’re all true. Grubby. Unhelpful. Towels are awful and you can’t take one for sauna. Hugely unimpressed from what people perceive to be a private members gym. Shoddy service, low hygiene and not enough equipment. Gym stinks like a bin house by the weight machines too
Negative experience: Terrible Experience – Scammers and Incompetent Team I am extremely disappointed with Nuffield Health and the way they’ve handled my membership cancellation. After they started replacing the gym floor, I couldn’t use the treadmill and other essential equipment. Since I had a “no commitment” membership, I decided to cancel. However, despite the gym being unusable, I was told there’s a one-month notice period and they sent my account to a debt collection agency! I’ve called them countless times, visited the gym in person, and even discussed this with the manager, who assured me repeatedly that they would “drop me an email tomorrow” or “call me back.” Guess what? They never got back to me. It’s been weeks of chasing them with no resolution. This is a team of scammers and completely incompetent staff who will make false promises just to get you off their backs. They’re quick to take your money, but when you have a valid complaint, they’ll just ignore you. Avoid Nuffield Health at all costs unless you want to deal with a frustrating, dishonest, and utterly useless service. You’re better off taking your business elsewhere!
Negative experience: Very good gym if you go off peak or just want to do cardio. But the downstairs area has become very overcrowded, with constant competition for most equipment. There is a boxing ring that is barely used and they should get rid of it and claim back some much needed space. Staff are generally nice, but some PTs treat the place like their own personal gym, even during peak times. Taking up multiple equipment during 1-1s or sparring up and down the gym getting in everyone’s way (again, there is a boxing ring, use it or get rid!) The cardio area is usually quiet, yet there is still cardio equipment downstairs in the weights/machine area that are barely used. Could be a much better if gym if management looked at the machines and areas being used or survey members to know what equipment aren’t popular and what is missing.
Negative experience: These opening times make no sense for that price
Negative experience: WiFi hasn't been fixed after it was "upgraded" monthw ago. When machine or anything else gets broken it takes ages to fix.
Negative experience: Gym is quite good but you pay an adults membership and then put children’s swimming lessons on at peak times during the week. Most gyms would have these at non peak times to accommodate. Staff on front desk also rude.
Fantastic experience: A cozy gym with various equipment, services and facilities. I like it.
Negative experience: Summary: consider to use other gym. While the facility is nice and the staff is generally friendly, I am not so sure if it’s worth the money. Pros: Nice Facility: The equipment and layout are well-maintained. Friendly Staff:Most of the staff members are pleasant and helpful. Turn Offs: Overcrowded:The gym weights area is consistently packed, making it difficult to get a good workout in without waiting for equipment. Limited Hours:The gym’s hours are ridiculously short. They only open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM during the week, 1 hour shorter than its competitors. It closes even earlier on weekends at 6:00 PM. Other gyms in the area are open until 8:00 PM, giving you more flexibility. Restricted Entry: To make matters worse, they prevent entry one hour before closing, effectively reducing their already limited hours. There’s no valid explanation for this, making it feel like a deliberate attempt to shorten your access to the facility. In short, You can find better options elsewhere with more reasonable hours and less frustrating policies.
Fantastic experience: Great staff and equipment. They offer a free consultation upfront where you get an overall health check and sit with a personal trainer to map out a program customised to your fitness levels and goals. Really valuable stuff!
Fantastic experience: Viktoria is super helpful and lovely to talk to. Made the joining easy and very welcoming getting the gains soon
Fantastic experience: Spectacular team and club, i dont know what the others are on about
Fantastic experience: Very clean and very friendly staff. Viktoria has been excellent at advising me as I’ve only just started working out and has been super friendly throughout.
Fantastic experience: I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the fantastic experience I've had at Nuffield’s gym. The entire team is truly the best, but I must give a special shout-out to Victoria. She is absolutely incredible! Victoria is always so helpful, making sure I have everything I need. Her support and encouragement have made my time at the gym not only productive but also enjoyable. It's clear that she is passionate about helping others, and it really shows in the way she interacts with all the members. Thank you to the entire team for creating such a welcoming and motivating environment. I look forward to continuing my journey here!
Negative experience: Nice facilities but always over crowded, and their contract terms are incredibly inflexible. They shut their cardio area for two weeks but gave no option to freeze your membership. You have to give over a month's notice to cancel unless you happen to do it exactly on the 1st of the month. Plus, the staff aren't particularly friendly.
Negative experience: Always busy and small space for lifting. Equipments are often broken and nobody take action to fix them. Several complaints, which resulted in 0 problems solving. This week lights were off in the corridor for bathrooms.
Negative experience: My review is actually from June 2022 but I was in a pretty bad place at the time so wasn’t wasting my time doing reviews… Anyway, I was in Arena Tower from Feb 2022, and in June decided after speaking with a PT, Victor, to book a ten pack of PT sessions with him for £500. Note here- WITH HIM. One morning as I was about to head to my 6th session, he sent me a text to say he’d been fired and that there would be no session. About TWO weeks later I finally had an email from the manager Nuffield to tell me the same thing and she told me to choose another PT. I advised her I’m a bit on the spectrum and it takes me a long time to become friendly with someone and that I didn’t feel comfortable with anyone else and asked for my remaining sessions reimbursed. She told me that was against policy and my only option was to choose another. I again told her I wasn’t comfortable but she refused to give me my money back. I moved out of the flat to another around the corner two months later, and even though I considered staying on as a paying customer, decided against it because they had stolen £250 from me. Stupid policy, it’s not your customers fault if you fire your staff. PT’s are a personal experience, I booked with a SPECIFIC PT. If that PT can no longer deliver a service, you can’t just steal your customer’s money. Nuffield- if you reply saying you can’t see me on the system, my last name begins with a W and I was in 2002 Arena Tower in June 2022. My PT was Victor. Not that you’ll do anything now just like you didn’t back then.
Hi Micha, thank you for this feedback and sorry for any upset this caused you. We do regret to advise that we will not be re-investigating the concerns raised, due to the time that has lapsed and we can't comment further on any decisions that were taken with regards to staff. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness & Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: The staff is rude, catty, and extremely unprofessional. Makes you not want to visit again
Hi Dhairya, thanks for this feedback and apologies for any offence interactions with our team have caused. If you would like us to investigate this further, please reach out to us via: [email protected] With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness & Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Equipment: - Not a huge variety: around 4 benches for dumbbells and 3 benches with a barbell, in terms of machines there arent even some for core and otherwise only 1 for a single muscle . However some cable machines to make up for a lack of options - On the positive note there is a sled and plenty of treadmill, so a good gym if the focus is on cardio Availbility: - Far too crowded most of the times, so either prices to be risen (but already expensive) or memberships limited. This is the biggest annoyance as its barely possible to run a workplan Staff: - The PTs are friendly otherwise rather neutral Overall: - The overcrowding is too big of an issue hence the 1/5, otherwise could've been a 2.5/5
Hi Patrick, thank you for your feedback and we are sorry if you have been unable to complete any planned workouts, due to club footfall. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Fantastic experience: I recently decided to go for PT sessions and I'm so happy I finally did (little tip, don't wait, start now!)! I have been working with Elvio for the past month, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He's extremely encouraging and supportive, and clearly explains what I'll do with interesting background information. Elvio challenges me with new exercises that allow me to go out of my comfort zone here and there and this is helping with my confidence too. One month in and I already feel so much better, can't wait to continue. Thanks Elvio!
Lovely feedback Chiara, we are very pleased to read of the excellent advice and guidance Elvio is providing during your PT sessions. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Positive experience: Overall good, has a pool and steam but no sauna. Occasionally the sauna is not hot enough. Classes are great. Instructors are good.
Thanks for this positive rating and review Humayun. We are however sorry for any instances where the sauna has not been at optimum temperature. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with my experience at this gym. The staff were consistently rude and unhelpful, making each visit a challenge rather than a pleasure. On top of that, the gym is constantly overcrowded, which makes it difficult to use the equipment without long waits. Cleanliness seems to be a low priority here; the facilities are often dirty and poorly maintained, adding to an overall unwelcoming atmosphere. Definitely not worth the membership fee. I would not recommend this gym to anyone looking for a supportive and clean environment for their fitness journey.
Hi Jay, thank you for this feedback and our apologies for any element of your club visits that were not to standard. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness & Wellbeing Team
Fantastic experience: Love the boxing area
Superb feedback. We are very pleased to read you are enjoying your club visits. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness & Wellbeing Team
Fantastic experience: Nice gym pool and steam,
Thank you for this superb review and rating. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness & Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: Just tried to arrange some Physiotherapy sessions and was told that the system wasn’t open and could I call back tomorrow as the system takes 30 minutes to load! Really 30 minutes? I asked if they could call me back today when the system was up and running. Let’s see if I get a call back!?
Hi Jill, thank you for your review and our apologies for the issues you experienced with booking a physiotherapy appointment at our centre. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness & Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: I enjoyed using this gym last year but since the Canary Wharf branch closed. It's been a nightmare, I mainly have membership for the classes which I can never go to now. It's been terrible. I don't understand why the capacity aspect is not considered.
Hi Deborah, thank you for this feedback. Whilst a small minority of members have transferred across to our branch, any increase in footfall is mainly due to the increased club usage that we generally see at the beginning of the year. We are however very sorry for the impact this has had on you being able to book onto your favourite classes. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness & Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: The gym is horribly busy and over capacity. I've seen at least 2-3 people queue for one equipment. Also, it smells of sweat. They really need some corrective measures.
Hi AD, thanks for this feedback and we are sorry to read you haven't been enjoying your club visits. Do not hesitate to request the Duty Manager on your next visit and we can discuss any outstanding concerns further. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Negative experience: Agreed with all negative comments, been going to this gym for the last 8 years ... stuff and management are unprofessional, not to mention that once - a couple of years ago - a few members of the stuff had a farewell to one of their colleagues by throwing them to the pool while still crowded full of customers. As for the price has increased 2...3 times within the same year and also wanna highlight the cheapo shower gel ... just replace it with Fairy... Defo going there as it's nearby and defo not value for money considering the level of service ... and last refurbishment of equipment really tragic they brought in machines with less kilos and very unfriendly to body anatomy... each year worse and worse...
Hi Ioannis, thanks for this feedback and we are sorry to read you haven't been enjoying your club visits. Do not hesitate to request the Duty Manager on your next visit and we can discuss any outstanding concerns further. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Negative experience: I recently had the displeasure of visiting Nuffield Health Baltimore wharf and was thoroughly disappointed with my experience. The staff were incredibly unprofessional, showing a complete lack of knowledge and enthusiasm for their jobs. It felt like pulling teeth just to get assistance or even a simple greeting. The gym itself was poorly maintained, with broken equipment and a general lack of cleanliness throughout. Save your money and find a gym that actually cares about its members’ experience.
Dear member, we are sorry to read you are unhappy with your club membership. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to request the duty manager on your next visit. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Fantastic experience: Very clean, lots of equipment, and facilities work as expected. Note, it’s only open till 6pm on weekends, and the pool and steam room close even earlier at 5pm.
Thanks for your superb rating Loran. We are very pleased to read you are enjoying your club membership. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: I’ve been going to this gym for almost 2 years now and it’s getting worse and worse.. I have to agree with all the negative comments here. Also I would like to mention that my biggest issue is that sauna is “under maintenance” most of the time. I think I’m one year out of 12 moths is only working and available maybe 1 month which is ridiculous. I cannot comment on equipment because I only go to classes, pool and sauna (when it’s works so almost never). Pool is also most of the time overcrowded. Classes were ok one year ago, but for the last month I find it really hard to book a space even to the ones that were always available. Perhaps they’ve taken in too many new members and capacity of this gym is now exceeded. I’m thinking to change the gym because it ridiculously - when I look at the timetable for next week all classes are fully booked! Oh and also I forgot to mention that his gym is actually quite pricey, it’s like 80£ a month and most of the gyms in the area is around 35£
Hi, thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to read you are not enjoying your club visits. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to request a duty manager on your next club visit. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Positive experience: Decent gym with adequate facilities but they have really benefited from a lack of competition in the area since Hybrid Fitness closed. The gym is often over-capacity and some members keep rudely taking up more weights and space than is necessary like they own the place, which the staff need to crack down on. For the monthly price you pay, you would expect reliable wifi (it never seems to work nowadays), better weekend opening hours and functioning air con at a minimum.
Hi Philip, thank you for your review and suggestions. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Negative experience: Most machines don't work, mens changing room showers are in really bad condition, WiFi never works properly and on top of that they're increasing the monthly price!
Hi Vig, thanks for this feedback and we are sorry to read you haven't been enjoying your club visits. Please do not hesitate to request the Duty Manager on your next visit and we can discuss any outstanding concerns further. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Negative experience: Taken a downturn in the last months, machines were changed for worse ones, packed every afternoon and new members show anti social behaviour. Ridiculous for the price.
Hi Cesar, apologies for the recent issues experienced. If you do spot any breaches in member etiquette. Please do not hesitate to contact a duty manager, who will take further action. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Negative experience: Super rude staff. Cancelling today
Hi Rachit, thank you for this feedback and we are sorry to read we have lost your patronage as a result of these interactions. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience with Dominic and Andrea at the Baltimore Wharf development. They were both very informative and helpful with all my questions & it was a quick and easy process! Thank you both so much! :)
Fantastic feedback Betsy. Thank you so much for this positive review. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Negative experience: What in the actual fresh heck has happened to this place? They boasted about "new" treadmills but replaced them with cheap second-hand ones which are falling to pieces and constantly broken. Out of the 10 or so machines there are often just 3 or 4 working. The gym is always absolutely rammed full to capacity with queues for equipment and unfortunately the cleanliness has taken a dive as well. Far too many members, even during off-peak hours. Horrific to think how much I am paying in service charges (I live in the development) for this god awful place.
Hi, apologies for the initial challenges we had with the recently installed equipment and for the impact this would have had on your workouts. If you do have any outstanding concerns, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the management team. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Negative experience: Been coming here for almost 2 years. Not sure what has happened in the past month and a half but the gym is a polar opposite of what it was. Machines have been changed (in some instances for worse ones), half of the treadmills have switched off and haven’t had any repairs done in almost 6 weeks, the gym membership/sign up policy has far exceeded its capacity and the club is now a health and safety hazard. I do not understand why they are walking around signing up new members at this rate (they should have put in a waitlist about 50 members ago), it almost impossible to exercise or do stretches because it’s over capacity. Then lastly the smell/body odour of some of the new members is putrid and have passed this feedback to the staff.
Hi Jonathan, thanks for this feedback and apologies for the impact equipment outages have had on your workouts. We are working hard with our service agent to sort this. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Positive experience: Recently replaced most Cybex equipment (which was great) with poor, cheaper Techno gym equipment with significantly worse range of motion. Gym also over subscribed and full, newer members need to use deodorant
Hi Joe, thanks for this feedback and we are sorry to read that you do not like the alternative equipment. Unfortunately, the Cybex equipment was at the end of its lifecycle and we have exchanged to improve reliability. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Negative experience: Very overcrowded, dirty gym. Needs better ventilation. Fellow members please can you shower before training? The smells are indescribable
Hi Yara, thanks for this feedback and sorry to read this. We'll share this with the ops manager for further review. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Fantastic experience: Nice club/gym
Lovely feedback Victoria, thank you for your positive rating. Best Wishes, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Fantastic experience: Looks much more spacious than from the outside and changed since a few years ago. Became better distributed with more equipment :) love the staff too
Superb review Tom. Thank you so much for sharing your positive experience of our centre. Best Wishes, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Negative experience: Staff are rude and have no manners. They also cut off my padlock and my belongings went missing. There is no sign in the changing rooms saying you cannot leave things over night. The staff then said I need to buy another padlock from them after they chopped off my own personal padlock. This is not right.
Hi Kyle, unless a locker is hired, it is only for usage during club visits. To make sure there are sufficient lockers for members, lockers chops are performed. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Negative experience: Not worth it, just go to PureGym.
Hi Alexandra, sorry to read you didn’t enjoy your membership. Our club provides a pool, sauna and steam room, in addition to the gym floor which we believe still represents excellent value for money. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Fantastic experience: Easy access, great classes and the club is able to pack everything a gym needs and more. I'm very satisfied with this club
Superb feedback Matheus, we're really pleased to read you are enjoying your club visits. Best Wishes, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Negative experience: Reception staff are incorporative and rude wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone even for the price it's not worth it
Hi, we are very sorry for any element of your club visits that have not been to standard. If you have any outstanding concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of the management team on your next visit. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Positive experience: It's a decent gym but it gets quite busy these days even during off peak hours. It has basically everything you need. I don't often use the classes but the ones I have attended have been very good. They could probably do with reducing the amount of space dedicated to cardio equipment and adding more benches and squat racks since they are often all in use. The air conditioning also isn't great on hotter days (though fine most of the year). The changing rooms by the pool can double as a sauna they're so hot (there are also more temperate changing rooms upstairs). The lockers are plentiful and spacious. They say the most difficult weight to move at the gym is the front door. At this gym it's true both metaphorically and literally.
Thanks for the positive review and constructive feedback and suggestions James. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness & Wellbeing Team
Fantastic experience: Amazing place
Thank you for the lovely feedback and review Luis. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness & Wellbeing Team
Positive experience: Friendly service but not a lot of equipment! The pool also gets crowded
Fantastic experience: Amazing facilities. The pool has only two lanes but it more than makes up for that in the vast number of weight training stations
Negative experience: GOOD vibe, some of the classes are great. Steam room is a joke though - no seating area nothing! No sauna either. If you go gym for a whole experience probably would not recommend.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, not too busy even in peak times and the steam room is great
Negative experience: The step machine has been out of order since I joined the gym more than a year ago, what's the point in keeping it there? Repair or change with another one.
Negative experience: Extremely busy gym and super expensive for what you get! You have to wait lots for the weights and currently the aircon is not working in the cardio area! Not great, without mentioning the equipment is very old!
Negative experience: Fix things
Hi AK, apologies for any impact service issues have had on your club visits. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Senior Management Team
Negative experience: Too small and busy. Not up to the community it wants to serve
Fantastic experience: Nice good place to work out sauna swimming pool boxing ring Friendly staff
Negative experience: One of the worst gyms I've ever been to. Most of the machines and equipment are old and not properly maintained - many of them are dusty, not aligned and broken somewhere. There are too many people who are not seirous in work-out - many jokers playing with their phone - I even saw a person vaping in the gym. The staff at the counter doesn't seem to know what they are doing. The personal training and classes are not serious in teaching, not worth the money. Ah there is no signal in the gym. Wifi is available but doesn't really work just like equipments and staffs in the gym.
Fantastic experience: Great Gym, good range of both weights and machines. Usually 2-3 classes due peak times AM, lunch as after work. Nice 25m pool and steam room. Less good for families as they have no slots at all in the week for children of any age. Great value.
Positive experience: Very good. Local, affordable with knowledgable and polite staff.
Negative experience: Very Rude receptionist.
Positive experience: Good gym but pretty expensive due to location. Needs a refurb as its very aged and more equipment as you'll have to waot to share if coming in the busy periods Has a pool and steam room but no sauna. Provides towels.
Positive experience: I really do like this gym, helpful staff, not too busy, plenty of classes. My main complaint is that I wish it was open for longer hours
Fantastic experience: I recently had a PT session from Clara Chevallerau, she was very professional and nice. she gave me a detailed explanation of the workout and I have learned a lot. On top of the class, she wrote a very detailed email to follow up. she is lovely responsible PT anyone could wish for, highly recommended!
Fantastic experience: Very good and big place for excercise, good swimming pool. I like this place a lot.
Negative experience: Think the only positive thing I can really say about this gym are the opening hours and boxing ring. The cleaning stations are barely topped up with new wipes and I agree with some of the other reviews about some of the staff being rude or unhelpful. Additionally, there was a loud, verbally aggressive altercation between two gym members, staff just stood there and did nothing to mitigate the situation. Other gym members were clearly disturbed by the aggressive demeanour. Disappointing way of managing that situation.
Fantastic experience: Great facilities, spacious multi-level workout areas. The pool and steam room are perfect
Negative experience: Staff are very unprofessional. A lot of swearing by staff and can be very loud. They all hang around not knowing what to do when you walk in. Very dirty, mould in showers and hair all over. Cleaners are very lazy - always on break - even staff I heard complaining about them. Equipment very old - so running machines not maintained and make a lot of noise. When equipment is broken they never fix it for 6 months….water leakage now for several months nothing happens…it is the most unprofessional Club I have seen…..if you lazy and want to hang out they are hiring….just dont join
Positive experience: It is a good gym with good facilities, however, it could be better if they prioritise maintenance and cleanliness everywhere in the gym.
Positive experience: Please fix the machines quicker.
Hi CB, thank you for your review and apologies for any delays in equipment repairs. We are working closely with our servicers to improve repair times and we are very sorry for the time it has taken to bring some of the gym equipment back into use. With regards, the Nuffield Health Baltimore Wharf Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Fantastic experience: Top of the range fitness facility..excellent staff
Positive experience: they seem to run out of towels every time, staff are nice though
Positive experience: It’s a very good gym, sometimes a little too busy but have decided to go early early morning and is a lot better, wish they had a few more weight machines such as maybe a pec fly deck or a Tbar row anything like that seems a bit too spread out. But so far so good employees are lovely, haven’t used the pool yet. Changing rooms are decent and clean and showers are nice and warm after a workout, aside from the gym equipment the only I would say is I wish their was a bit of Wi-Fi perhaps in the gym, if their is I don’t know about it but at the moment I have no Wi-Fi or 5g to stream good music without having to download or watch any workout videos to give me an idea of the exercise to do as sometimes I write it but forget completely haha, but good gym and lovely staff
Negative experience: There is NO mobile connection inside, so Wi-Fi is very important, especially for people who have to be always online because of work. Wi-Fi is very bad, it is not even always possible to connect and is very weak. Very expensive membership for such a price you expect the highest quality of service. I hope they read the review and listen to the client and put more Wi-Fi spots with a private password and not the entrance through the site because the site doesn't always work as it should. This is terrible. Thanks
Negative experience: No way worth 80 pound per month the cleanliness of this gym is terriable sinks are dirty shower floors have people's old shorts on the floor old towels Bannana skin on the changing room seats eurin stains on the floor where you go to the tiolet old towels just chucked on the floor cleaners need to be sacked for the way it's been left this is in mens changing room swimming pool is decent steam room is OK cable machines are dated and one side of the cable machines is stiff pretty much on all of them for the price they are charging should defiantly have better machines but they need new equipment and need to keep onto of the cleaning to be charging 80 pounds per month
Positive experience: Good gym, although a bit expensive for what you get. Some of the equipment is aged and worn down. Treadmills definitely need an upgrade, they are old, clumsy to use and not fitted for serious running workouts. The gym overall is clean and staff was nice and helpful whenever I had a chat with them.
