Parklands Leisure Centre: Opinions
Positive experience: I have just joined as a disabled person, I was delighted withe the care the staff took to explain everything. My only concern is that the lift has been broken for some time now and staff have been reporting it with no response. As a new member I want to use the gym but until the lift is mended I can only swim. I can't fault the staff who were fantastic a credit to the place.
Fantastic experience: It's my favourite place, i have made friends with the lifeguards who are the friendliest and everyone is welcoming, it's a nice place, pool is good average, and affordable
Fantastic experience: Excellent place to be .
Fantastic experience: Great Gym, Great Pool and Great Receptionist, Very Helpful..
Fantastic experience: Clean and pleasant. Water warm in pool. Helpful staff.
Fantastic experience: Swimming. Gyms. Sporty stuff. Avoid if you don't like exercise.
Negative experience: I occasionally use this centre for a stop off "pay as you go" session when I'm passing through the town a couple of times a month on average. The pool is good although the changing facilities are outdated and the lockers old fashioned. That is at least made up for by it being a nice pool. The gym is rather small and close knit but has good gym equipment. Sadly for my last two visits (two weeks apart....!) the showers were all closed off and out of bounds on both occasions, basically as they were not working. I expected that to be a 'one off' for my previous visit a fortnight ago but for them still to be not working two weeks later was a real eye opener for me! Anybody would think getting the showers to work would be top priority for hygeine's sake in such a set up but seemingly not here! Phoning ahead to check on such things in advance is nigh on impossible too and my calls in the past over various queries here are rarely returned on the day - which is when you obviously need them to be if your call isn't even answered first time around! It's obviously very short staffed for this to even be the case. Sadly, as much as I occasionally enjoy using Parklands LC, it does seem to me to be a leisure complex in decline and with little to no money spent on it in the five years or so I've now been occasionally frequenting it for! I hope the future for it is brighter than the past five years or so have been as far as I've been concerned.
Fantastic experience: Lovely enthusiastic staff, really make you feel welcome. Good facilities and nice warm pool
Fantastic experience: Really friendly team who are always helpful. Great programmes for children, coaches are really enthusiastic. Gym is a bit small but the new Intencity studio is great as are the classes.
Fantastic experience: Great
Negative experience: Spamming me with calls every day cause someone in my house looked at their website once, blocked the number now
Negative experience: This place is boring u can’t do anything except for pencil jump and my brother kicked out for playing catch outside of the pool he defended his self even attempted to compromise which is a big thing for him as he has mental health issues never going again
Fantastic experience: Highly recommended swimming pool - great family fun
Positive experience: good
Negative experience: Can't cancel membetships on website, I asked in person for it to be done. 2 months later still being charged so I just told the bank to stop it, just wondering if this is the last of it. Social distancing not existence, gym never has any staff in it. All these stupid gates everywhere, so reception staff can be even more ignorant than before. 10/10 ruined the place
Fantastic experience: Nice park for a walk and swimming pool/gym for public use
Positive experience: Aqua fit class away fun x
Fantastic experience: Really friendly team and a brilliant pilates instructor
Negative experience: Rather run down and dirty. Showers on the poolside filthy. Saw plasters in the water and people were asked to walk around poolside in outdoor shoes in order to leave the pool area. Most of the lockers broken, however there was a lack of information regarding not being able to use these lockers or where in fact to place your belongings due to over the top covid restrictions still in place. . Sanitizer in the reception dripping onto the carpet welcomes you. Come on Parklands the rest of the country is adapting to more relaxed covid restrictions.
Negative experience: Please can your website information match your answering machine information? Website says you are open and answering machine says you are closed. I've tried to book a swim on more than one occassion and no one answering. Pretty basic stuff really. Very poor.
Positive experience: The gym is bad but nice pool
Positive experience: Reception needs to be more proactive and people friendly when clients arrive at the desk to pay their dues and facilities checked for cleaniness.
Negative experience: The air in the swimming pool was area was too warm to breathe properly so we had to leave without swimming which was disappointing.
Negative experience: Tuesdays swimming is limited if your a Male......ladies sessions take over, which is fine but there should also be Male only sessions unless we get a discounted membership due to less sessions??? Bit of a joke to be honest....
Fantastic experience: What a lovely friendly, helpful place.Im not use to the gym environment. Now in my late fifties I wanted to feel fitter.I needn't have worried I have been made to feel very welcome and the workouts are doing just the job.James and Jeanna are fantastic and we always manage a laugh.Im so pleased I joined
Fantastic experience: Great Open Day on Sat 13th - taster sessions in the new Intencity Suite were hard work but great fun! With new, quality equipment already in the main gym, and 3 knowledgeable, enthusiastic instructors available, there is something suitable for anyone, at any level of fitness.
Negative experience: Most of the lockers still don't take the new pound coins, some do but if you put a new pound coin and it gets stuck you have to wait while the receptionists goes and releases it with a pair of scissors! Some of the lockers have keys in but broken or missing wrist bands what are we supposed to do with the key while we swim? The movable floor has been stuck in a shallow position for months it got even shallower last week as swimmers unexpectedly banged their knees. The pools is sometimes unexpectedly closed in the school holidays. It wouldn't take much to put out of order stickers on the lockers or a "Closed Next Friday" notice on reception Some improvements have been made such as a new turn style system. I now have to ask if I want to use the loo !
Fantastic experience: Great place, really helps me focus on my life! True inspiration to the world of leisure centres! Yours truly the queen
