Our comment from FitFit UK about PureGym London Tower Hill:
PureGym London Tower Hill offers a range of fitness facilities in a convenient location. The gym boasts a friendly atmosphere with helpful staff who are eager to assist members in achieving their fitness goals. Many users appreciate the variety of equipment available, including cardio machines and free weights, and commend the cleanliness of the gym.
Some standout positives include:
- Great staff who foster a supportive community.
- Well-priced memberships that provide good value for the facilities offered.
- Not overly crowded, allowing for a good training experience without long waits for equipment.
- Various classes and personal training opportunities are available.
However, there are several areas which require improvement:
- Some users have noted that the gym lacks female instructors and that there have been ongoing issues with hot water in the women's changing rooms.
- The gym is closed on weekends, which can be inconvenient for many members.
- Inconsistent cleanliness, especially in the showers, has been reported, along with a need for maintenance and upgrades to certain facilities.
- A few members expressed concerns over insufficient equipment during peak hours.
In conclusion, while PureGym London Tower Hill has its strengths, such as pricing and dedicated staff, attention to maintenance and extended hours could greatly enhance the experience for all members.

PureGym London Tower Hill: Opinions
Fantastic experience: I got an excellent advice from Danny who also showed me a great workout routine. Definitely recommend for all who want to get to the next level.
Negative experience: They didn't refund something we paid for where they advertised the gym was open but it was closed. Misleading company. Will avoid in the future.
Negative experience: Why are there no female instructors? I don’t feel comfortable with a man training me and this is something that should honestly already be in place Also there’s been no hot water in the women’s changing room for over a few months which is ridiculous for the amount I’m paying which is over £40 a month Just an update - going into 2025 and still no female personal trainers....
Fantastic experience: Exercise place
Fantastic experience: Great staff and a community feel
Positive experience: I've been a member of this gym since July 2020, and sadly the quality of these facilities degraded over time: machines are being continuously replaced with worse analogs (e.g. last year a smith machine was replaced with another one with a shorter range of movement, made in 2013 with visible rust, see the photo), water in male shower rooms is getting colder and colder (sometimes showers can be shut down for a week), there's no mobile reception at the gym, and the local wifi barely works. Going to this gym at 6-7pm on Mon-Wed is impossible because the amount of equipment is insufficient for all members at this time. I flagged my concerns at the end of 2023 when I received a feedback form from PureGym, and to my surprise the response was basically discarding all of my points and claiming that everything functions properly. To sum up, I don't anticipate any positive changes coming to this gym, so I've switched to another [non-PureGym] gym in the area, where for the same price I can enjoy 24x7 opening time, sauna, brand new equipment, great wifi connectivity and get motivated by professional athletes working out next to me. Bye Pure Gym Maybe one day you'll change for the better.
Positive experience: It is small, but has enough equipment for me. My only problem is the internet isn't great. Otherwise, everything is very well with staff.
Negative experience: Does this gym ever actually open on time? Yet again this morning no one decided to open despite advertising 6am open time. There was no notice anywhere that the gym would be closed today. This happens far too regularly.
Negative experience: £38.99 and closed on weekends is laughable. The equipment is the bare minimum and not nearly enough to cater for the number of users.
Fantastic experience: Friendly, clean and well equipped.
Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed this gym during my stay in London. I had visited many gyms (more expensive but way more crowded) around the area but this one is really by far the best for my personal needs: it is not crowded, has all necessary equipment, very clean, and has a really good price with a possibility to have one month membership which is not easy to find. The stuff is also very friendly and helpful. Thank you for this experience!
Fantastic experience: Great facilities, great value and good classes
Fantastic experience: My favourite GYM, very friendly staff who are easy to get along with. The GYM is not big, but it also doesn't get too busy so it's just right for me. Good amount and variety of machines and equipment too.
Fantastic experience: Great and clean place, skillful and wonderful staff
Negative experience: A small gym that's good for cardio, but extremely limited for weights and resistance machines. I guess the price is based on the location more than the facilities, but still it feels a bit too high given the lack of equipment. Also the showers have a lot steps, some of which are hard to see (I have a couple of bruises now, thanks). When I finally got to one, passed the several out of order ones, the water was icy. There was a temperature control but the hot water pressure was so low as to practically not run at all. Overall I'd only recommend it if you're already a PureGym member somewhere else and are using this one occasionally. I wouldn't take out membership just for this.
Fantastic experience: Quiet atmosphere, standard puregym equipment.
Fantastic experience: Good gym with decent equipment
Negative experience: Barely any equipment, overpriced and toilets smell terrible year round. Only redeeming part is that the staff are very nice.
Positive experience: Great Gym but it seems like the manager is purposely trying to run this place into the ground. Every time I go there, it's either, ALL the cardio equipment is out of use or there's NO hot water in the showers. People have stopped going and it's kinda empty, I feel like it's gonna get shutdown soon which would be a shame. Hopefully they get a new manager thats capable of fixing the issues
Positive experience: A great little gym. Small but perfectly functional. Almost has a "boutique" vibe to it, probably from previously being part of the Soho Gyms chain. The manager here is exceptionally friendly and willing to help members. He is a true asset to the company. I'm deducting one star though for the horrid smell in the men's toilets. Not sure if it's the drains or what, but it really is putrid every time. Would be great if the company could get this sorted.
Negative experience: This gym location is fabulous as we live walking distance BUT when the company emailed me to say the membership will increase to almost £50 for multi gym options, I cancelled my membership and now I’m getting fat again, just because it’s located in the city of London, it doesn’t mean you should penalise local residents who want to use this gym rather than one a bit far away, I know you got a business to run but having a high price for city gyms is highly inappropriate, you need to charge the same or very close to same price for all gyms no matter where they are located
Hi Sid, thanks for taking the time to leave this rating, but I'm sorry to see it's one star. We are always keen to receive feedback so we can improve our service. Memberships are based on different factors and access is based on the highest gym wanted, you can contact Member Services, or search our website for more information. PureGym pride ourselves on the facilities we offer, and in order to maintain and continue to improve the facilities we offer it is necessary for us to make this small price change in line with rising maintenance costs. We sincerely wish you the best in your future fitness goals! Thanks, PureGym
Fantastic experience: Great facilities and really helpful & friendly staff when using the gym during short-stay in the city.
Hi Andy, thanks for your great review. Get in touch if you’d like to tell us more about your great experience! PureGym.
Fantastic experience: My first time today and overall I’m extremely satisfied. Clean, spacious, lots of equipment and friendly stuff. I would highly recommend it.
Hi Ichnusa! Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. We want to provide our members with a safe space in which they can get a great workout in and do so, in a clean and friendly environment. We are really happy to hear you enjoy using the gym! Thanks, PureGym
Negative experience: This gym location is very convenient for me and it's not busy but the men's toilets absolutely STINK, it's a bad smell and it would be good if the management could sort out this problem, I like the 3 shower cubicles at the rear of the shower rooms, only drawback is if I need a pooh, I have to go out of the shower room and walk to the toilets, apart from that everything else seems to be ok, and I give a 5 star rating for the rest of the gym areas
Hi Saeed, thanks for taking the time to leave this rating, but I'm sorry to see it's 2 stars. I'm very sorry to hear about these issues as we take our standards very seriously. We are always keen to receive feedback so we can improve our service. The best way to pass feedback on for practical action is always to get in touch directly with the Gym Manager. You can approach them in the gym or leave a comment in the feedback box as this is regularly reviewed and will be taken into consideration for updates and improvements, or you can contact Member Services. Thanks, PureGym
Fantastic experience: Good
Hi - Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. We want to provide our members with a safe space in which they can get a great workout in and do so, in a clean and friendly environment. We are really happy to hear you enjoy using the gym! Thanks, PureGym
Negative experience: I decided to switch to a different PureGym site given that, for the price (nearly £40!), this is a rather small gym and on top of that, it’s not open in the weekend. From my point of view, there are too many cardio machines. The free weights area only has 4 benches. The WiFi does not work and I wasn’t getting any signal as it’s a basement floor gym. It wasn’t a very busy one but a few people would be enough to make it feel busy.
Hi Arturo, thanks for your message. We can only apologise that we are unable to open the Tower Hill branch on weekends. We always aim to provide a broad spread of kit to cater to a range of fitness needs and meet demand as it changes through the day, getting the balance right between weights and cardio, but if you have any other/specific suggestions please approach the Gym Manager or leave a note in the feedback box, which is regularly reviewed. Thanks, PureGym.
Fantastic experience: For me, it was a great space and had all the kit I needed for a good workout. There is a room to workout in too. It's smaller than the average pure gym but decent location. One thing I didn't realise is it closed on a weekend and turned up on a Saturday to train without realising (I had to go elsewhere). My experience with the staff was pleasant and they were all really accommodating and helpful. Hope to be back again sometime soon!
Hi there. Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. It's great to hear you enjoy using the gym overall and that you've given us 5 stars. We hope your time with us continues to be positive! Thanks, PureGym
Negative experience: Doesn't have a place to do chest to bar pull ups without banging your head on some pipe or the ventilation system. They have a high enough ceiling, it's just they put all the bars where the ceiling is at its lowest...
Hi Kevin, thanks for leaving us a review. We are sorry to see this is 1 star. We appreciate and value our member feedback. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this. If you believe this to be a common issue, we advise speaking to the Gym Manager who may be able to take a look at this. Thanks, PureGym
Fantastic experience: Nice and clean , good range of equipment some that other pure gyms don't have ( due to this being Soho gyms before )
Hi Rakesh. Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. It's great to hear you enjoy using the gym overall and that you've given us 5 stars. We hope your time with us continues to be positive! Thanks, PureGym
Fantastic experience: Best gym in the area and great for the price
Hi Alex, thanks for taking the time to leave us a rating for the London Tower Hill gym. It's great to see its 5 stars! If you have any feedback about how we can improve our services going forward, please feel free to get in touch! Thanks, PureGym
Fantastic experience: Very good layout of the gym floor and equipment, staff is polite, big and spacious changing rooms
Hi Lorena, Thanks for your great review, get in touch if you’d like to tell us more about your great experience! PureGym.
Positive experience: Good gym and location but unfortunately is closed on weekends!
Hi Leandro, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Sorry to see this is just three stars. We would be interested to know the reasons behind the review and have the chance to discuss this and look to resolve any issues. Please get in touch via DM with any concerns. Thanks, Puregym
Fantastic experience: Never very busy, equipped quite basically and a lot of cardio
Hi There. Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. It's great to hear you enjoy using the gym overall and that you've given us 5 stars. We hope your time with us continues to be positive! Thanks, PureGym
Positive experience: Really comfortable
Hi Leinnon, thanks for taking the time to leave us a rating for the Tower Hill gym. It's great to see its 4 stars' If you have any feedback, feel free to get in touch! Thanks, PureGym
Fantastic experience: Not the best to be honest
Fantastic experience: Good social distancing, friendly staff and you can see them regularly cleaning everything down
Positive experience: Smaller gym but everything is working fine the opening hours a bit limited
Hi Szép. Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. Great to hear you're enjoying the gym and if you ever need anything or have any issues, feel free to raise these both locally with our branch staff or by contacting Member Services. Thanks, PureGym
Positive experience: A bit small, not too busy after working hours
Hi Marco, thanks for your feedback. It always helps us to improve! Thank you, PureGym
Negative experience: Sweaty equipment I go to this gym as it is close to work but be warned it is not particularly clean!!! I know they have a policy of "bring your own towel" but no one ever does resulting in really quite disgusting gym equipment. It wouldn't be too bad if there were tissue and cleaning spray but this gym doesnt even seem to have this as far as I could see.... I used one of the stairmasters after two guys were LITERALLY dripping with sweat all over it. Disgusting. PLEASE BUY SOME TISSUE AND CLEANING SPRAY SO PEOPLE CAN CLEAN EQUIPMENT AFTER USE! Thanks!
Hi Yvette. Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. Staff do regular cleaning checks in the gym and we have dedicated cleaning teams who come each night to carry out and comply with internal and external audits. Of course, during peak times it can be difficult for us to compete all cleaning routines, however as soon as it is possible our staff will complete all procedures and checks. If you have concerns with the cleanliness in your gym we can check the cleaning rotas and ensure all procedures are being followed. Please speak to your Gym Manger for more information on your experiences. It is in the Gym Rules that members should bring their own towels as a courtesy to other members. We made a conscious decision as a company to not provide wipes, so we could reduce waste from all of our gyms. Thanks, Harry
Fantastic experience: I love this gym for basic workouts during the week. I don't understand the poor reviews, but I have to admit I haven't been to the classes. The changing rooms are huge (which is great when it's busy!) and I love the lighting/design of the gym. Admittedly, the equipment is limited, but I also attend other Pure gym venues for more complex workouts.
Negative experience: Literally the worst gym whatsoever. Especially if u consider the price. Don't spend money on this gym.. I know the gyms in London are expensive but it just isn't worth it spending money on this one.
Hi - Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. I'm very sorry to hear about these issues as we take our standards very seriously. We are always keen to receive feedback so we can improve our service, but it would help us if you could get in touch directly to provide more information about where we may be able to improve. We'd love to talk to you in more detail, so if you have feedback the best way to pass it on for practical action is always to get in touch directly with the Gym Manager. You can approach them in the gym or leave a comment in the feedback box as this is regularly reviewed and will be taken into consideration for updates and improvements. Alternatively, you can contact Member Services through [email protected] or our social media avenues. We look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Ru, PureGym.
Negative experience: Terrible Gym, There is no hot water and they have been saying that they are going to fix it but they have not! unbelievable! Unclean and cold water always. What a disappointment!
Thanks for taking the time to leave this feedback. Its very important to us as it highlights area's that we need to improve on in order to make our facilities as enjoyable for our members as possible. I’m sorry to hear this is affecting your enjoyment of the gym. I can assure you that we are trying to get the water temperature at this branch fixed as soon as possible. We politely ask for your patience whilst we have the issue resolved. If you would like an update on this issue then please get in touch with our [email protected] and we can provide you with a direct email address for the gym manager of this branch. I do hope that you are able to continue training with PureGym working towards reaching your fitness goals. Thanks, George, PureGym.
Positive experience: Shame. Used to go there when it was a Soho Gym, but moved to PureGym Aldgate with a work discount. That had a towel service and decent showers with soap. Moved to Tower Hill to be closer to work, but gutted about the lack of towels so my bag is now heavier and stinks. No soap at all in the showers and trying to twist them on is a workout in itself. Don’t understand why classes happen in the middle of the track...? There’s an extra space they’ve knocked through for free weights but would expect consistency across all of their gyms
Hi Sam, Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. I'm very sorry to hear about these issues as we take our standards very seriously. If you have a suggestion about how we can better our facilities then let the gym manager know your suggestion but leaving a note in our feedback and suggestion box within the gyms. These are regularly checked! In the meantime, I hope you're able to make the most of the gym and reach your personal fitness goals Thanks, George, PureGym.
Negative experience: Excellent gym and equipment – however that credit belongs to Soho Gyms. Pure did a fine job rearranging floor layout, but not a terribly commendable feat. Members are courteous of each other and most are regulars which also adds to great atmosphere. Two stars are due to the now regular [prime time] morning group classes that happen on the track, literally blocking any other member working out on their own, or with a PT, from using the functional and main rack area. In fact some veteran PTs can be overheard asking why classes aren't happening in the designated (and available) group fitness room. Its unfortunate and awkward, adding insult to injury having to listen to/observe the most frequent coach not only shout as if she were a Slovakian prison guard, but also completely misguide her classes and ignore their lack of proper form. The change room showers aren't ideal, but blokes don't really care about shiny tiles – just bloody get someone in to sort the taps so all showers work and others aren't aimlessly wandering looking for ones that do. Ru, Henry, before you suggest 'speaking to the manager' after a benign thank you as per other reviews, address these issues with the branch directly as thats your...job? And what Google reviews are for. Who wants to go have a chat like this in person? Cheers.
Hi - Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. I would be more than happy to pass this information on to the Gym Manager on your behalf. When feedback is specific such as the class issues and taps, as above, we pass this on to the Gym Manager but also give the option of speaking to them directly so they can liaise with the member face to face (if that is something they want). As above I have contacted the management in the Gym so the issues are looked at further as soon as possible. In the meantime, I really do hope this does not put you off from attending the gym. Thanks, Ru, PureGym.
Fantastic experience: Great priced gym. Large selection of machines and free lessons.
Negative experience: My mate Dan would rather get changed at a conservative government run leisure centre. Equipment is okay but he said he completed it in a matter of weeks. The word 'booki' was thrown around a lot in his description of the environment. Shout out Tommy K.
Fantastic experience: Super et pas chère
Positive experience: I have been going for a few months. Overall, I think it is good value for money given the prices for other gyms in the area seem to be much higher. They have used up all the available space quite well, but because of the area almost everyone attends at exactly the same hours, meaning you often have to line up for equipment or go looking for weights that people leave lying around. The cleaner is always hard at work but the toilets are usually a bit stinky. But that's also because men insist on peeing all over the toilet instead of in it. Staff I have interacted with have been excellent.
Hi - Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. I'm afraid it's true our gyms simply are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day. To make the most of the space where possible, though, we are always looking to expand and improve our facilities, so please keep an eye out for updates. Also in my own experience, members are often happy to let you jump in and share equipment especially at peak times. If you have any concerns regarding hygiene in the gym please notify a member of staff, or leave a note in the feedback section, so they are able to act on this. In the meantime, I hope you're able to make the most of the gym and reach your personal fitness goals. Thank you, Ru, PureGym.
Negative experience: So Purgym bought what was previously Soho gyms. The place has really gone downhill since. Although it's open the place is still being decorated, no mirrors in places, poor paint jobs. The equipment is ok-ish but really a refresh is required as it looks dated. 3 different types of dumbells in the functional room, 2 different loading plates. The showers were dull and worn out. The changing rooms are cramped and half the lockers doors are broke or the locking mechanism doesnt work. Very dissappointed in Pure Gym with this one. A eye opener in contrast to the Aldgate one and so others ive visited. Sort it out man
Hi - Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. The club has never been without mirrors since it was opened – none were removed. We actually have additional mirrors being fitted this week in our free weights and stretch area. Also, our staff do regular maintenance checks, and the showers haven’t changed from Soho nor have we had any lockers out of order since opening I've checked with the Gym Manager that the whole club was painted prior to opening and no further work is needed. We do have 2 different types of dumbbells but neither duplicate each other in terms of weight, providing members with weights from 1-50kg. Also, we do have different types of plates, again these are what we were left with from Soho but without these there would not be enough plates for all members. If you have any more concerns the best way to pass them on for practical action is always to get in touch directly with the Gym Manager. You can approach them in the gym or leave a comment in the feedback box as this is regularly reviewed and will be taken into consideration for updates and improvements, or you can contact Member Services. Thanks, Henry, PureGym
Positive experience: After the Soho-Gym rebrand, we got more racks but lost the Sauna, the closest thing I had to utter luxury. No soap in the showers, but you can use the pink handwash in the loos. Airlock doors took some getting used to. Also it feels like they were planning on using some integrated locker system as they have posters up all over about asking staff to help with your locker, but each lock is different... I like this Gym.Its given me the opportunity to try some new things. If only everyone would put their weights back we would be sorted..
Hi - Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. It's good to hear you like the gym overall. I'm afraid we removed the sauna as our focus is on providing quality fitness equipment while keeping costs affordable for all members. If you have any more feedback or concerns about anything else, the best way to pass them on for practical action is always to get in touch directly with the Gym Manager. You can approach them in the gym or leave a comment in the feedback box as this is regularly reviewed. In the meantime, I hope you're able to make the most of the gym and reach your personal fitness goals. Thanks, Henry, PureGym
Positive experience: Really Good gym with a very broad selection of equipment and weights. The recreational and athletics room is a bonus, however the showers could do with being cleaned more frequently but not a major drawback
Hi - Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. It's great to hear you enjoy using the gym overall, but I'm sorry to hear there may be an issue with the showers as we take our cleanliness standards very seriously. As far as we are aware the showers are in a good and clean condition as staff undertake regular cleaning checks and we have dedicated cleaning teams come each night to carry out and comply with internal and external audits. It would really help us if you could get in touch directly to provide more information about when you've visited and noticed the showers, such as date and time, so we can properly investigate it. If you have more information the best way to pass it on is always to get in touch directly with the Gym Manager. You can approach them in the gym or leave a comment in the feedback box as this is regularly reviewed and will be taken into consideration for updates and improvements. Thanks, Henry, PureGym
Positive experience: Excellent gym. Friendly staff, wonderful equipment Great facilities and classes!
Negative experience: Since change from Soho Gyms class instructors do not seem as qualified or structured
Hi - Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. I'm very sorry to hear about this - it would really help us if you could get in touch directly to provide more information about any classes you've attended such as date and time so we can properly investigate them. If you have more feedback, the best way to pass it on is always to get in touch directly with the Gym Manager. You can approach them in the gym or leave a comment in the feedback box as this is regularly reviewed and will be taken into consideration for updates and improvements. Thanks, Henry, PureGym
Positive experience: I was a member of Soho Gym before it was bought by Pure Gym and I was apprehensive regarding the take-over. I was pleased to see that several of the Soho Gym staff have been retained as they were one of the reasons I joined originally. I was also pleased that they kept the majority of equipment/weights so there is still a good selection (I go off-peak so never any issues with it being too busy - in fact at some times it can be rather lonely). I was disappointed that the toilets and showers have not been updated but hope they will be considering this in future. I also miss the sauna but I understand the economics of getting rid of it. In summary, this is a great gym, at a very competitive price, with a good selection of equipment that is deserted if you are able to go off-peak.
Hi - Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. It's great to hear you enjoy using the gym overall. We are always looking to expand and improve our facilities, be they changing rooms or equipment on the gym floor, so please keep an eye out for updates. If you have any more feedback, the best way to pass it on is always to get in touch directly with the Gym Manager. You can approach them or leave a comment in the feedback box as this is regularly reviewed and will be taken into consideration for updates and improvements, or you can contact Member Services. Thanks, Henry, PureGym
Negative experience: Used to be Soho Gym and so much better than what it is now. Taken over by PureGym and now you have crammed in machines and a gym that you have to wait for equipment. The usual low price and squeeze as many members in as they can with no service gym. They have even cut the lockers down by half which was always tight, and now no towels and not even shower gel. Showers are dirty even with a pair of men’s boxer shorts left on the floor in the shower cubicle. Wouldn’t recommend and time to move on.
Hi - Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. I'm very sorry to hear about this experience and that you'll be thinking on cancelling. I'm afraid our gyms simply are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times. But everybody is welcome, and we are always looking to expand and improve our facilities to make the most of the space where possible. Regarding the cleanliness, staff undertake regular cleaning checks and we have dedicated cleaning teams come each night to carry out and comply with internal and external audits. It would really help us if you could get in touch directly by calling 03444 770 005 to provide more information about your visits such as date and time so we can properly investigate the cleanliness then. For now, though, I really hope we can welcome you back one day. Thanks, Henry, PureGym
Positive experience: It is a real shame that one gym won’t open on Saturdays AND Sundays, days that people most expect to work out with more time.
Hi - Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. I'm sorry we've not been able to open the gym 24 hours due to local conditions and regulations, but we are always looking to extend the opening hours when possible so keep an eye out for updates. Thanks, Henry, PureGym
Positive experience: Best class is Bodypump with Edgar on Thursdays
Negative experience: Celler Gym- air and maintenance could be better
Fantastic experience: Nice gym, good range of equipment at a very reasonable price. Staff all very friendly and happy to give advice.
Positive experience: Good place to work out.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, good selection of equipment, very nice and helpful staff.
Fantastic experience: Exceptional. Has everything one needs.
Negative experience: Pros: Reasonably priced No 'admin' fee on sign up Gym is equipped with most of the equipment one would need for the average work out Cons: Men's changing room smells of untreated sewage - It's quite revolting and put me off extending my one month pass Gym lacks character and branding USP - Unclear what the connection to Soho is
Fantastic experience: Even with free membership through work, I enjoy the gym, love the indoor 2 lane track, sled and tyre!! I'm a girl who likes to squat, so another rack is needed...even at 7am!!
Positive experience: My gym. It's alright.
Negative experience: This is overly negative but it’s to get a point accross. The gym has had a renovation with Great new equipment. The staff are great. Prices great. But oh my God you have to renovate the shower area. I can send you several disgusting pictures of damp and mold, and filth that’s made the screen doors yellow from lack of cleaning. I would be recommending this place to clients who stay over at local hotels but the state of the shower area is I believe lower than any prison. Upgrade the dam shower rooms they are totally and utterly disgusting Further it’s misleading as you show people around who maybe impressed...but obviously in a given day they won’t inspect the male shower. A quick glance it’s ok and you then sign up.... and get ready for the horror show of mold and disrepair. Do that update .....and it’s a five star grade. Again this is to make a point with the 1/5 but they are foul I wish I could upload the photos
Positive experience: New equipment, not too crowded. There are about 20 treadmills and 5 bikes, all latest technology. Only grow is the music, it's far so loud I can't listen my own music
Negative experience: Arrived at 15:30 on Saturday and they were already closed (Not sure if they were opened at all, nobody answered the phone). Supposed to close at 17:00 on Saturday. An hour of wasted trip. Thanks...
Positive experience: Good basic gym
Positive experience: Good gym
Fantastic experience: Decently priced gym, good facilities and nice staff
Positive experience: Good little gym with ok free weights, can't comment on classes as I have never used them. Changing rooms are a little dingy but hey it's just somewhere to get changed, there's a sauna in there but I have never used it. If you want to go there to 'weight lift' then you may not be that keen as there is 1 lone power rack so people are queuing for it at busy times No lifting platform, so heavy deadlifts, snatch or clean practice and oh yes NO CHALK only liquid chalk... If you want somewhere to go do some curls [no disrespect bro!] then this is the place for you, if you're serious about your lifting then as the manager said to me "this isn't a proper weightlifting gym"
Fantastic experience: I am the MD for Soho Gyms, I have seen negative comments posted during the transition from Fitness First to Soho in the early autumn, the gym is now fully refurbished with new equipment, changing rooms and a settled team. From £29.99pm it is now worth a look..... thanks for the recent good comments too! Mike
Positive experience: An okay gym
Fantastic experience: Great overall gym! It's a really nice space with a good variety of modern equipment and lovely changing rooms with sauna. The staff are always friendly to speak with and the space is never over-crowded so easy to get an overall workout without waiting on machines.
Positive experience: Good price gym
Negative experience: Ok facilities, nice staff, but if you don't have enough lockers then that's a bit of a deal breaker!
Fantastic experience: Great gym nice people
Negative experience: One of the worst gym in whole London! I love soho gym near Borough station, cause it's a nice one with perfect equipment, so I decided yesterday to go to try the tower hill one for the first time. 5 main negative points: 1- the lockers do NOT work!! I spent about 20 minutes just to find a locker that could work, as you lock them with a special magnetic card, but most of the lockers do not work at all! Really frustrating and risky leaving your bag and clothes inside an unlocked locker. 2- the team is not friendly at all, not even a smile. They look sad and serious, so depressing, asuch ruth off for workout. 3- the gym is dark with horrible low bricked ceiling, it feels weird and in some way some sort of dark underground club, there is not bright light from outside, you don't see anything else than just bricks 4- the equipment is not that good, there are so many running machine but not enough machine to build muscle, so you have to queuing up to use one single machine. 5- the showers feel dirty and old, and the sauna is a tiny spot, which was completely off, so it took about 15 minutes to get hot. This tower hill gym is terrible, just avoid it! Luckily there are others soho gyms, borough station one is the best, it's bright, open, pumped music, energy, clean and friendly stuff.
Negative experience: Immoral cancellation policy - AVOID My gym Fitness First has been acquired by Soho Gym a few months ago. Firstly they have not informed us about this process prior to it happening and just received an email a month later saying that I am no longer a Fitness First member. As it happens, I have been relocated with work and so this gym was no longer suitable for me to go to so I tried to cancel my membership. I clearly asked a member of staff for my membership to be cancelled in the beginning of the month (September) however I was asked to pay an additional month of membership (September and October) so ended up having to pay 2 months after having cancelled...I have tried to reason with them even speaking to the manager but there was no help. The new manager has not been able to deal with this situation effectively and her customer service delivery is lacking to say the least! In addition, the standard has dropped considerably and even if I wasn't re-located with work I would still cancel. If there was an option I would give NO star to this review! Very disappointing!
