Positive experience: Nice with many pool for everyone - young, old and kids. Very good ambiance. The staff members are friendly. They do regular cleaning to maintain hygiene. Ample parking spaces. Nice inside cafe. Only the temperature of the main pool should be slightly higher as many people talk about it.

Negative experience: Need a place to train regularly for swimming. Paid for 1 off session £6.10 Fast, medium and slow lane sounds promising. However the fast lane was packed with slow, medium and no fast swimmers, all trying to overtake each other. No policing of lanes so best described as chaotic at best. Definitely not for me. Thanks anyway

Positive experience: If more people walked to this sports centre then the car parks wouldn't be so full and require security cameras to stop people staying so long.

Negative experience: Mens changing rooms are horrible. The constant smell of ammonia was too much for me. Gym and car park get very crowded too.

Negative experience: It may be a good centre for sports and gym but the company has subcontracted their parking to some scammers who ticket customers at any excuse. After having paid several hundreds of pounds in possibly illegal fines, I now avoid this place complete. AVOID.

Fantastic experience: 'Parking Scam' - doesn't affect people that can accurately enter their registration number into a very simple system which features large buttons for ease of use.

Fantastic experience: Excellent sports centre run for the community by people who are not in it for a profit ! Great range of new equipment in the Gym, loads of classes for all kinds of people, spaces for your own sports including Football, Swimming, Badminton, Archery, Trampolining, Street Hockey, the list goes on and on. Full service facilities at great prices not a swipe and get on with it organisation.

Negative experience: Parking fines not fair.

Positive experience: Visited to watch the Hemel Storm basketball team play a match. Parking was easy, as was registering on the terminal. The seating in the court was fine and the match was great. A fun evening out.

Positive experience: Not sure about the 'parking scam' comment. You can get 3 hours free parking for any of the Sportspace car parks so long as you enter your vehicle reg into the system on arrival. This isn't a privately owned gym and spa, it is a community sports centre with good, not luxurious, facilities. If you are expecting a spa like experience you will need to pay for it elsewhere. If you want a reasonably priced sports centre with recently refurbed and good facilities, then Sportspace is great. One criticism is the management of parking space when there are events on, if yo uarrive when there is gymnastic or other competition being held in the large hall, you will struggle to find parking. This can be annoying. However there are overspill car parks, and if you arrive in reasonable time (I often don't!) then you will find a space.

Negative experience: sportspace are a very poor establishment and is run poorly

Fantastic experience: I am using this place to swimming. Swimming pool is very clean always, they water temperature according to weather, pool helper is always there to help you. They keep running kids courses for swimming, tennis, football, trampoline, gymnastic, martial arts and so many other courses. I think this is good place to keep kids busy, they can spend their energy. Reception area is good, centre people are good and friendly. Their is small shop you can buy sports related stuff but bit expensive compare to other sports shops. Parking: you need to register otherwise ready for fine. Eating: there is a restaurant but I never been in that restaurant so no comment. Price: there is two kind of price one for member and other for non member. Members price always cheaper.

Fantastic experience: The gym is great - lot's of equipment and I never have to wait to use it. The classes on offer are fantastic - lot's of variety! They do get booked up quickly though. I've used this place for 4 years + and never had an issue with the new parking system. I agree with the controls they have put in place as commuters and residents from the new housing development were using the car park and finding a space was a nightmare! It's obvious when you enter you need to register your car details (if you are a member you can register online and there is no need to enter your details each time you go). Plus there are signs everywhere!

Positive experience: Great Gym & Pool the changing room floor was not as clean as it could be however I will take flip flops next time. Parking was no problem. Class & Gym Instructors are fantastic.

Negative experience: I'm another that was duped into thinking parking was free for 3 hours as always was and saw no signage on entering the car park advising otherwise and have now been landed with a parking fine. Shoddy way of generating revenue from paying customers. Won't be back due to this.

Negative experience: Be very aware of the parking scam being operated here by Sportspace. When you park in the car park if you don't put your car registration EXACTLY into their logging system you will get a nasty £60 fine. Won't be taking the kids here again.

Positive experience: The Ladies changing room on the ground floor could not be bettered. However, I was surprised to find a man in the swimming changing rooms not realising it was mixed. I am not a prude, but really prefer not to share my changing experience, albeit in a cubicle, then to stand next to a man whom I don't know whilst drying my hair. The swimming cubicle floor was not very clean consisting of dead leaves evidently off someone's shoes. The swimming changing room is large enough to have made it into Women and Men's changing area. To use the ground floor Ladies changing room which was excellent, from the pool area means slapping through Reception. Why? This changing room was empty and so much more preferable.The showers round the pool area are fine but I don't really want to see people undertaking their full ablutions whilst I am swimming. The staff were pleasant but a brief overview would have been helpful or even someone to conduct a quick tour of the premises as I had no idea where I was going. I was directed to the aerobic studio twice by a very kind reception lady, as I got lost and had to ask again where to go. On the plus side, the aerobics studio was very good and the Zumba leader excellent. The pool itself was just the right temperature and Just a few minor additions as described would have made the experience so much more pleasurable. Someone said, "Well, it is Council. That should not make any difference at all. It is still a service to the community and a commodity paid for by Council Tax payers.

Negative experience: Parking is a nightmare, fines given out like sweets, if you don't register.

Positive experience: Decent gym, not as "posh" as Virgin etc. but adequate and reasonably clean. Cheap membership packages. Only pet peeve is registering your license plate at the entrance kiosk every time.

Positive experience: Great local centre, with lots to do
