Welcome Anglian Leisure, Bottisham. Bottisham Village College has a widely important role in the local community. The Sports Centre's facilities are available to the general public as well as primary and secondary schools. Bottisham Sports Centre was opened in 1997 by Frankie Dettori and was originally set up by a Community Association which was based in the village.
Bottisham Sports Centre: Opinions
Positive experience: For a small village, the gym is very well-equipped and compared to Cambridge prices reasonably priced. However, don’t try using the gym when it opens at to the public at 4pm on a weekday - you will most likely find it full of youths either hogging the free-weights area or standing around doing nothing. Recently, a pair of them had propped-up the arms of the shoulder press machine (which apparently they’ve been told to do by their teachers) - breaking the machine in the process I might add - whilst using the actual seat for something else entirely. And don’t get me started on dumbbells being left on the floor - the biggest breach of gym etiquette! A great little village gym, let down only by the tendency of some of its clientele to use it as a glorified Youth Club.
Negative experience: I would like to express my concerns regarding the cleanliness of the facilities, particularly the restrooms, at your venue. While the football facilities are commendable, the hygiene standards observed in the toilets are alarming and pose a significant health risk, especially considering the presence of children. During my visit, I noted several issues, including a visibly dirty sanitary bin lid that appeared to have not been cleaned for an extended period. The state of the toilets was equally concerning, with urine stains and grime on the floors, as well as hair and other debris. Furthermore, the condition of the sinks and taps was unhygienic, and the uncovered toilet brush added to the overall unsanitary environment. In light of the ongoing public health concerns, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic, I believe that a more rigorous cleaning protocol is essential. It is disheartening to see that these standards have not been met, and I urge management and Anglian Leisure to take immediate action to rectify these issues. Ensuring a clean and safe environment should be a top priority, and I hope to see significant improvements in the near future. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Negative experience: When my Dr told me to do some exercise. I had try to go to bottisham sports Centre. I find out that's only opened after 4pm. Only weekend they opened all day. I am senior over 65 years. But quite active. I like to go only in the morning until 4pm. Because its getting dark. Can't go in the evening?. Is it any possibility that bottisham Sports Centre can open day time?
Fantastic experience: Love the class there
Fantastic experience: I attend a yoga class at the sports centre on a Tuesday night, pay as you, a bargain at £5 a session. Really good class.
Fantastic experience: Visited for archery competition recently , hall was nice , well lit and the toilets etc were clean , lots of free parking too
Positive experience: We booked for a birthday party in the swimming pool and It was a very good experience. Children were very happy!!!
Negative experience: Coming after school timings causes the gym to be packed with kids that leave equipment laying everywhere and don’t put the weights back into their respective places. 50% of the equipment has faults of various reasons. The staff need to grip the school kids to put the weights away after use.
Negative experience: Swimming times not great, was even worse during the summer holidays. Lovely pool and, friendly staff. Public swim half the swimming pool is cut off. having to book. Will not let you in if you haven’t booked and will not accept cash.
Positive experience: Good cricket nets
Fantastic experience: Good pitch and all sport facilities available
Fantastic experience: Great place with ample parking which is free. They have the best, biggest and warmest pool in the Cambridge so far. They have gym, indoor badminton court and outdoor football court. Will totally recommend pool, and indoor court as have used them. Their membership fee is also reasonable which gives you access to all facilities anytime. They also have classes for different activity which are run by them and other institutions as well like Elite swimming, Cambridge gymnastics etc. Edit: stand by the reviews even after couple of years usage.
Positive experience: Good sports centre. Decent pool and gym. Suffers maybe a bit from being attached to the school. Would recommend though.
Fantastic experience: Great facilities, lovely staff and easy access
Fantastic experience: It is a lovely sports centre, very clean and COVID safe - approachable staff and very friendly.
Negative experience: Basically closed. No staff - but yet they waste energy with the football pitch flood lights on
Negative experience: Booked the same slot on the 4G pitch for 4 years straight, and on 9 occasions have turned up to find the unprofessional manager has double booked our slot. Such a shame that a great facility is run by such careless people
Fantastic experience: Great local pool. It's hard to find a good pool in the area so i find it very convenient. The staff are friendly and the new inflatable is excellent
Fantastic experience: Great party visit; facilities and clean centre this year. Professionally staffed.
Fantastic experience: Really great experience, once I was met by a good and friendly staff team I had a nice swim and gym session.
Positive experience: Not a bad place. I visit it every now and than and I like it.
Negative experience: Even though you leave the notice and quite the membership they will charge you. Therefore after a month you must make sure the agreement is cancelled and block the Direct Debit. I haven't done it and still have problem with getting my money back after one and a half year.
Negative experience: Aboslutely flawless experience, loved the Sweet menu!
Negative experience: expensive and poor quality
Fantastic experience: CB74PJ 180 KING AVENIO
