Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at PureGym Crayford for over a year now, and I still go there frequently. The atmosphere is incredibly chill, and the gym has plenty of equipment and space to work out comfortably. It is always kept tidy and clean, making for a pleasant workout environment. The people here really make the difference; the members are friendly, and the staff are consistently welcoming and helpful. A special shoutout to Becca and Jess, who always go above and beyond to assist. Additionally, the gym’s affordable pricing, convenient location and 24/7 opening hours make it accessible for everyone, whether you’re a fitness enthusiast or just starting out on your journey. Negative experience: Well overcrowded and busy,equipment pernamently broken,staff keep changing equipment locations,probably to make people thinking we do something. It use to be a good place to go,well located. It's look like management need to be change or start doing job properly!.

Positive experience: I've just attended Jess's stretch class which was great. Having more classes like this, to balance with the cardio based classes would be appreciated. I used to attend Deanna's stretch class but that moved to a morning slot. Only having one stretch evening class is disappointing.

Positive experience: I've been attending this gym for a while and am very pleased with the experience. The environment feels very safe, with comprehensive CCTV coverage and a dedicated helpline. The instructors are professional, knowledgeable, and approachable. They maintain clear boundaries for safety, and some make themselves available to help with form corrections during classes. The classes are well-run and inclusive, but it's crucial that they consistently cater to all abilities to ensure everyone benefits. I'd recommend warming up and cooling down independently of the 30-minute classes offered here to prevent injuries. It's worth noting that there isn't a lot of diversity within the classes, but this might be more reflective of the local area than the gym itself. Cleanliness seems to be a priority here, with cleaning sprays readily available for mats and machines. While the sense of community isn't as strong as in other gyms, people are generally friendly. I haven't used the showers, but they appear very clean and functional. Some may say it gets busy, but as someone who visits at different times, I've never struggled to find an available treadmill or cross trainer. There’s also plenty of free parking across the road. Overall, this gym strikes the right balance between professionalism and a welcoming atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: Good gym etiquette all round from members. The cleaning station needs fixing though. Limited parking, and don't forget to put your reg in when going into the gym. Can also park at the mall across the road. Not the biggest so might have to be patient and wait for equipment occasionally.

Positive experience: Thanks for sorting out the issue with the PA system and putting a sign up. There’s now no longer patrons who use it for themselves to play awful music at the loudest volume. Have amended my review to 4 stars accordingly. Still issues with the oversubscription and the gym not being big enough.

Negative experience: The cleanliness and maintenance are horrible, we have to wait a few months for a machine to be repaired or a replacement part. Always run out of hand wash soap in the men's toilet, which is a basic requirement and essential, even after notifying the staff several times.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Negative experience: First visit in months and the place has gone downhill. Gym area dirty and the showers were awful. Visibly dirty in the showers like they hadn't been properly cleaned. Gym equipment with loose bolts and litter all over the car park.

Negative experience: The gym spaces are oversold and oversubscribed. There are more members than the gym can accommodate. This is reflected in the classes that are overbooked 2 weeks in advance as well as the insanely high number of people at the gym. The showers aren’t working properly: there isn’t any pressure and the cleanliness is appalling.

Negative experience: Could you please make sure that your flavoured water has a flavour in it? It is not that difficult to schedule when to check whether the flavour has run out or not. It's not a one-time incident. That's annoying

Negative experience: Worst gym experience ever thieves from the management to the parking company country wide, I sign to this Gym for £20 per month and end up paying £420 on parking fine and court case arbitrary parking charge register machine and code wasn’t working when they first open tried to contact their head office speak to the gym management nothing all useless and unwilling to help ! Their machine wasn’t working and the code wasn’t working nearly a year fighting their parking management company countrywide Thieves they are had to end up paying them due to be threaten with a ccj so everyone Be careful with this stinky gym run by incompetent people !

If you get in touch with Member Services, we can also provide you with an appeal document which will be an official letter from PureGym Head Office, stating that you are a member of PureGym and your attendance log for the date in question, will also be provided as proof to show you were in the gym. If your appeal is rejected, we would suggest submitting a case with POPLA. POPLA are an independent appeals process which works with the Ombudsman Service. They investigate whether this fine was issued correctly in accordance with the terms and condition of the car park; whilst reviewing evidence provided in the appeal. Negative experience: Nice gym. But did not realise you would get ripped off with a hundred pound parking fine for failing to put in your car details at the gym. I only used the gym as my normal pure gym was being refurbed. Its not evident in the gym you need to do this. You would expect that as a member of 6 years the Pure Gym would want to assist you, but no. They dont care, offer no help. So, I will be cancelling my 6 year membership and that of my son. Update: They also just consistently send the same reply as below. Regardless of how you contact them.

Positive experience: I use the gym 3 times a week. For my £21 a month membership, I think it's great value. Parking is tight and you'll be lucky to find a space in the car park after 5.30am, but the moans about fines are silly as there is a massive sign saying about registering your vehicle as you go in through the main door, there is also a QR code and tablet to input the information. You won't get a fine if you can read and don't stay longer than 3 hours. The equipment is generally well kept, few of the treadmills have seen better days, they could do with an extra exercise bike or two for busy periods, but as previously said, for £21 a month I can't really complain. I go outside of peak hours and on occasions, there have been no sanitising sprays or paper towels to clean equipment down with after using. This isnt great in a post-COVID world, hence the 4 star rather than 5.

Negative experience: PureGym do not care about their customers getting £100 fines. EDIT 2: 4 days ago they are still giving factually inaccurate advice! EDIT: Even the information that PureGym are giving about going to POPLA isn't correct. Countrywide Parking appeals are via a different company. Also if you appeal the fine and fail it's at the higher price. £100 PARKING FINE for not registering my vehicle in the gym. A response to a review written just 8 hours ago says "Speak to the gym Manager to resolve", but they say they can do nothing AND have no relationship with the parking company. You write responses thanking customers for their feedback - Just make the 2 main signs at each entrance to the car park clearer that registration is required as they DO NOT make that clear. And how about an email and a warning in the App when you pull up your login pass?

Negative experience: Awful gym, I will be canceling my membership. I am new to the gym and area and did not relaise you have to register for the car parking. I went to the gym 4 times in a week and I have been hit with £400 worth of fines. I have appealed the fines with the parking authroity and despite being a new member making a honest first time mistake, they have disputed my appeal and are still asking me to pay the fines. I saw the huge sign at the front saying "3 HOURS MAX STAY PUREGYM MEMEBERS PARKING ONLY" and assumed as a memeber I was allowed to park there. Why not put "Please Register" in massive writting? I should not be penalised for being a new memeber who missed the tiny signs saying to register your vehicle!

Positive experience: Great gym to go and get your workout in, plenty areas available for squats and deadlifting. Really good that you can get 3 hours free parking at the gym, and if that is full the retail park opposite is also 3 hours free parking.

Positive experience: Been using Crayford gym for nearly two years, I like it the fact it is open twenty four hours a day. It can get very busy a certain times a day, but if you go early in the morning its lovely and people are friendly

Positive experience: The Gym over recent months has become increasingly overcrowded, with so many treadmills, maybe, it would be better to add an extra bench and leg extension instead as people are often queuing for these scarce apparatuses.

Positive experience: Alright gym, not overly busy and good culture when it comes to putting weights back. However, when classes take place, it's like the gym manager is competing with himself every week to reach higher volumes of music. I use headphones, and even at max volume, I struggle to hear my own music over their speakers. Please do not inconvenience the whole gym for the 6 people in the class.

Positive experience: Used to love the classes when we joined in January 2022. Sweat 45 and Strength 45 were challenging and fun, and they were taking place on a few evenings each week. These classes have now completely disappeared from the timetable, which is a real shame. The rest of the classes are just not as good as these were. Can you please bring them back?

Negative experience: Thieves setting up their members for parking tickets no clear instructions on registering cars now I’ve been given a penalty notice absolute nonsense DO NOT PARK HERE
Negative experience: There is a huge problem with the music volume in this gym. Whenever there is a class they blast music so loud I cannot hear my own music and podcasts. I don’t go to the gym to experience clubbing atmosphere I am here just to use facilities and don’t like to be subjected to one person’s music taste. Once my annual contract expires I don’t think I will be renewing.

Negative experience: I recently bought a fob because i was having issues entering my pin everytime at crayford ( although i dont have any issues with other puregym)although crayford is my home gym so i thought is easier to get the fob. And AGAIN I still get same issue, can the management PLEASE look into this? I have mentioned it before and nothing has been dealt with, so is left me with no choice than to write this review.

Negative experience: Gym management is ridiculous and have the same answer for parking problems. This gym should shut down so innocent people can use their money on useful things instead of paying parking fines.

Positive experience: There’s mold in the female shower (especially the 3rd cubical). This is really unhygienic and needs to be addressed and cleaned with bleach regularly . This is the reason why I’ve changed my review from 4 to 3 stars. Hopefully there’s immediate action. Overall Good & close to home. Enough equipment & variety during busy times. Very nice management that make you feel welcomed . Is it possible to implement regular cleaning?

Positive experience: Currently looking to move gym as this one is often over crowded & the facilities dirty, the showers and changing rooms are not cleaned enough and sometimes so dirty you have to watch where you are walking. Parking is also a pain as others have mentioned.

Negative experience: Stay away from this gym and read the rest of the review before you sign up. Only been a Member for a month and I received a parking ticket and I’m sure I have more to come in the post. It’s a 24 hour gym but you can only park 3 hours after 5am in the retail park. I have 8 tickets on the way to me at £60 each if I pay early.

Negative experience: Avoid this gym if you drive! I was completely unaware (thanks to puregym) that you had to register your car in the gym to use the car park FREE for gym members. I now have a 60 pound fine thanks to their vague details. If they don’t sort this for me (an the other innocent good willed people they’ve been robbing) I’m cancelling my membership and I hope it gets shut down. Absolute scam.

Negative experience: Rubbish air system!!!!!! Deoanna so rude!!! How comes we’re never able to ask to turn the air on, they cannot control -.- they’re always wearing hoodie and says is not hot! We’re doing exercise, not assist manager, manager or PT!!!! This needs to improve ASAP! Since last summer like this!!!

Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Negative experience: I got to put Puregym @ Crayford on Blast !!! It seems this Gym is more interested in making money from Parking fines than from Membership. Otherwise, why would a Gym ignore the fact a lot of their members are getting parking ticket for parking at an HATCHED OUT AREA AT THE BACK OF THE GYM AND THEY WOULDN'T INSTALL A SIGN THAT SAYS "DO NOT PARK HERE". Please don't give me that same talking point of " we don't have anything to do with it " because a friend that works with Countrywide parking told me that you guys have a say in the Enforcement activities within your premises. All you have to do is put up a sign near the HATCHED OUT AREA, and that would solve the problem, I even told one of your staff members, all he can do is to point to the signage on the wall and I told him that their members were not aware that they can't park on the Hatched out area, but you guys FAILED IN YOUR DUTY OF CARE TO LET THEM KNOW THAT.

Positive experience: Busy with very limited parking at the back, you need to register your vehicle and also park within the lines or you're getting a parking ticket, clean but untidy during rush hours. Management seams on point and very knowledgeable and rest of the team are very nice and friendly but slightly overwhelmed by the number of users .

Negative experience: Awful. The parking set up is the worst. Check out Countrywide Parking for the reviews. I cancelled my membership and constantly receive emails asking me to come back.

Negative experience: Very bad service by this branch which make me very upset, I m already registered this gym and always use it in late night between 1:30 to 2:30 am and I parked my car in their parking which belongs to the gym itself. Now they sent me 3 parking tickets and they say I need to register my car licence number to use the parking which I think is not a good customer service and I decided to cancel my subscription from this gym and gonna tell my friends and family to do so as well, really very upset with this kind of service bcoz a lot of other gyms provide better parking facilities than them.

Fantastic experience: I am quite newbie when it comes to gym. I used to go to my local gym- better gym, was absolutely disappointed. Last year I bought 1 days pass of Crayfords Pure gym and oh my, I fell in love straight away. All the staff members are just so friendly and polite, judgement free gym, it’s quite spacious. I am going to gym 5 x per week and I swear, I don’t have to queue to machines or weights. It’s literally my favourite part of day- go to gym. Pure gym app- so easy to use and can see how busy or not busy it is, its really clean gym, easy to access, ig page with updates ( follow me back )Thank you Crayford Pure gym staff of being so lovely all the time :)

Negative experience: I just received a parking ticket as my husband recently joined Pure Gym Crayford and used the parking lot without validating the parking session in the gym. The signage detailing the parking rules could have been much more visible and Pure Gym could do more within the gym to explain the procedure to members.

Positive experience: New member, I've been there twice so far, it's good to see the cleaning stations in there as some other gyms don't seem to have them, and nice to see them being used too, the only reason it's not 5star is because you have no use of changing rooms past midnight

Positive experience: I’ve been training here for powerlifting comps for about 4 months now. The atmosphere is great and I’ve made a few friends but I don’t appreciate staff members bullying and thinking they own the gym just because they are off duty (that’s why I wouldn’t give 5 stars)

Positive experience: Gym is busier than when I first joint, Still great value for money. Overall still very good.

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. Negative experience: Small gym, hardly any good equipment, but the 1 star is due to the fact I used the car and enter the car details in the kiosk and still received a fine, I tried contact PureGym but they decided not to help. Never use this gym or any pure gym

Negative experience: Way too busy even at 7am! I find this gym increasingly frustrating as there's not enough equipment for the amount of people. I frequent around 7am and a large chunk of free weights are taken because people take 2 or 3 pairs away with them, waiting for machines, no floor space, no free cardio machines unless you want to use treadmill. Even the layout is not intuitive like the cable machines don't leave enough space for 2 people to work on them freely and you can't add the free weights to the cable machines when trying to increase. I guess it's a cheaper gym so this is expected but not for me unfortunately. Constantly compromising on my workout at this gym.

Positive experience: Can't comment on the gym as I am not a member...2 stars dropped for the contraversial parking management company contracted by the gym...The company issue tickets even if you enter the car park for a few minutes...when the parking enforcement was first introduced the parking notification sign was installed the wrong way round so only the back was visible so car park users were unaware restrictions were in force...when a friend got some tickets they appealed on this basis but the car parking company simply turned the sign around took a picture of it and included it in the rejected appeal saying it was always the right way around and insisted upon payment! Scandalous! Management at the gym were no help at all.... Would of expected assistance from the gym management in the parking ticket matter but none was provided.

Negative experience: Let's see how this plays out. [Spoilers - not well. If you don't want to be landed with parking tickets and threatened with court action, find another gym - if you've been effected by this issue, please make your own review and express an interest and I will co-ordinate a facebook group. Similar issues have been raised nationwide and been reported to local press, and I am intending to do the same. Done correctly these tickets can be overturned - but really PureGym should be stepping up and protecting their members]. Original review - posted 19th Jan 2022. The gym itself is great. Great equipment, plenty of benches and free weights, such that even when it's busy you rarely have to wait for equipment. Over Covid it was a real boon. But as some other reviews have mentioned, the car park adjacent has recently started to be enforced and bona fide members are now receiving tickets with little support, it seems. I just checked and I have 56 emails from PureGym - and none of them mention the changes to the car park and the only prominant signage in place states "Members Parking Only" with no mention of having to validate inside the gym. I have now reached out to PureGym to assist me in getting my PCN cancelled (and whatever they say, they do have that right). You can judge a company best, based on when things go wrong. Will PureGym now support their members and get parking fines cancelled while this new "parking validation" system beds in? (Which is ultimately a good thing for members as it means you're more likely to get a space) or will they leave their members to the wolves? I really hope I can edit this review and give a full five stars and reassure would-be new members that, if something goes wrong, PureGym will step up. Time will tell. Update 22nd January 2022: Having contacted PureGym centrally, and speaking to the Crayford branch manager (the latter of whom was at least sympathetic and treated me like a human being), they claim not be able to help. Think on that a moment - it's their private land, they have contracted Countrywide Parking to manage their carpark, and have full authority as to what happens on their private land. Yet they are choosing to ignore the plight of hundreds of members. I am trying to escalate my complaint internally within PureGym but ultimately I expect I will be cancelling my membership soon. I also intend to go to local press (similar stories have been appeared in other regions concerning PureGym and their associates fining their members). Incidentally, I did not receive any communication from PureGym on the new parking arrangements. I scoured my emails, and not one of the 50+ emails I did receive from PureGym made a mention, nor from anyone else on the date specified. No mention is made on the app, and the new measures are lost amongst their other advertising in the gym itself. The complete lack of taking responsibility, at a corporate level at least, is shameful. They don't care about you. They only want your money. Atrocious customer care. Update 03/02/2022 - unsurprisingly my parking "appeal" has been rejected. The parking firm will no doubt threaten me with debt collectors and court action, before abandoning it as they simply don't have a case. Otherwise, I guess I'll see them in court down the line. But I cannot in good conscience simply hand over money to a firm that seeks to extort the very people they have been contracted to protect. Nor can I give my custom to an organisation that either doesn't look after its members, or puts itself in a position where it cannot. I have cancelled my membership with PureGym. Ridiculous.
Hi Chris, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you received a parking fine whilst using the gym. The car park is operated by a third party company in which we do not have any affiliation with. Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to cancel such tickets. Information regarding parking is available on the home page of any PureGym which offers parking. The correct parking procedures must be followed, to avoid a parking ticket. We would always advise that you appeal the fine and explain the circumstances. If you get in touch with Member Services, we can also provide you with an appeal document which will be an official letter from PureGym Head Office, stating that you are a member of PureGym and your attendance log for the date in question, will also be provided as proof to show you were in the gym. Fantastic experience: Clean venue and facilities, which are regularly checked and clean. Nice boost classes to chose from when you are up for a quick workout and a wide range of machineries and workout items.

Negative experience: Drop by on the 15th to make enquiry for the membership and check out the facility, today I am getting a parking ticket just for this? Definitely not worth the effort
Negative experience: In 21st century just how hard is it for a business of this scale to put this information up on their website or on Google and save clients the journey?

Positive experience: Good gym well maintained and clean but the parking policy has caused me a £60 fine. I will be moving to another gym the fear of forgetting to log your entry every time you visit isn't needed

Fantastic experience: Brilliant classes with Rebecca: professional and friendly. She's ruined every other class that are not with her because hers are just so good! I had only done two classes by the time Rebecca already knew my name! She always does the exercises alongside us so there's a real sense of community in the classes.
