Pace Health Club at Stansted

Negative experience: In all honesty, I was in shock when I tapped my card to find out the day pass has gone from £10.... to £30. I was a member here nearly 8 years ago and everything is the same. The gym equipment, the hygiene levels and the state of the changing rooms. The only thing they have changed is the lightbulbs from a white light to a warm light. Not worth the increase in all honesty.

Fantastic experience: Just finished an awesome blue cow conference . What better way to finish the day than with a lovely swim and spa to relax . Big shout out to team member George . Thank you for going above and beyond and helping make my visit special . See you again soon xx

Positive experience: Myself and my partner enjoyed a spa day for two this Sunday. The whole experience was very relaxing, and Fatima’s Aromatherapy massages for both of us were fantastic. We were served our glasses of Prosecco at the pool right after and enjoyed use of the spa facilities for the afternoon.

Fantastic experience: I had a full body massage performed by Lena...this was a really relaxing experience....Lena was very professional, her expertise in her field shone through, and her calm and friendly demeanour put me at ease. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Negative experience: We used to use this club regularly, while it was in disrepair. As soon as it was refurbished, they changed their policy to bar local families. We are so disappointed they are so u supportive of their local community.

Negative experience: This gym use to be really good, I am going back 10 years when it had a small jacuzzi pool, PTs, scales to weigh self, gym classes including aerobics and free parking. Now there is none of this just a small gym pool and sauna. Showers didn’t have any shampoo body wash in and price has gone up loads! Far too expensive for what they offer.

Negative experience: This is truly the filthiest gym I have ever been to. It is disgusting with layers of dirt on the machines, loose dirt on the floor that cant have been swept for weeks, let a lone disinfected. Broken machines, leaking water fountain puddles on the floor, no towels available- it’s too much to mention. Shame on Sheraton management for not keeping a higher standard with this gym that is associated with their establishment. I only took the pictures of the treadmill as I left, but it is all horribly bad. I will complain to my employer (a major airline) and ask that they change hotels as this this so far below the standard that I have never seen anything like it. Hope you fix it for the next guy

Fantastic experience: Small pool, steam and Finnish sauna. Nice atmosphere

Negative experience: The only thing we like is the pool, the staff are shockingly rude, and unhelpful, they try and charge £30 for parking when parking is free for 3hrs, drinking water machine is empty.

Negative experience: No massage.or Spa treatments even though it is on their website

Negative experience: Manager is rude talking down to us like we were children then had the cheek to ask me how old I am to then laugh in my face best hope I don't see him about rude little muppet

Fantastic experience: Really relaxing place and clean

Negative experience: Desperately needs an upgrade to the gym, half the machines are faulty and there isnt enough collar clips for the barbells they have (only 1 set).

Positive experience: Lovely and quiet pool, sauna and steam room. Had the place to myself today. Pool water was a little cloudy but they were testing it whilst I was there so clearly well looked after. Didn't sample the gym but it looks big enough and well stocked. Many thanks to the very welcoming reception staff too who explained everything clearly.

Negative experience: Well, I have expected more from this place. No enough space, old machines, some even are not available. Accessories-what is this, no pad for the barbell, no belts, only a pair of barbell collars… Went for a shower before the sauna no shampoo in the dispenser, went back for a shower after sauna - cold water. The only positive was the friendly staff, Natasha showed me around the place before myself to use it. Day pass £10, honestly £5 are enough. Not impressed however, if you have some time free and you don’t want just to sit on the airport you can go. I am not a swimmer so couldn’t enjoy the pool facilities. Anyways, any experience is better than no experience, thanks! Desi

Negative experience: ATTENTION TO ALL PARENTS AND WOMEN: I have been coming here for a few weeks now and tend to bring my kids here for the swimming classes. The guy on the reception needs investigating, he is a bit weird and pervy to the women who come in the gym but also looks at the kids in the pool in a weird way and likes to spend more time watching kids swim then been on the reception and doing his job. BE AWARE!

Fantastic experience: I had 6hrs l till my next flight at Stansted and I needed some time to wind down and relax. So glad I made the decision to come here, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed the sauna, steam room and relaxing chairs they have near the heated pool. Will definitely return should I find myself in a similar predicament.

Fantastic experience: We were at the Stansted airport in transit 03.05.23., had to wait several hours, figured out to relax with the children at the Pace health club. It was very cool! We would like to pass on a BIG thank you to the manager of this club, who welcomed us very professionally and was very kind!!! He was really very interested in making sure we were doing well!!! Thank you very much to him!!! We want to convey to the owner of the club information that the premises and equipment should be slightly repaired...

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed my time here soooo much. I did workouts in the gym, danced in the studio, swam in the pool and had a relaxing time in the sauna. What a place for that little money!

Negative experience: Pace gym has gone down over the years. There used to be classes included in the membership. Pool is freezing cold! Changing rooms have wet towels all over the benches. Showers have hair over the floor. Not happy at all for the cost of the membership

Positive experience: Was camping out and decided to go to have a nice morning swim, sauna and shower, paid to get in £10 then discovered they had no hot water, bit of a funny one would have thought they would have been telling people on entry. Was a party of ten of us and bit of a fight to get money back but the hot water did get switched on in the end and by time we were leaving manager had started worked and refunded us have or entry fees so got £50 back of the £100 we paid.

Fantastic experience: A neat enough gym. It truly is a hotel gym first: it had only one Olympic bar, one EZ bar! There were plenty dumbbells and kettlebells. Don't use it for leg day though if you like freeweight squats and deadlifts. The pool is small but it's always warm. The car park is validated by the gym for the day!
