Fantastic experience: Professional and friendly approach during swimming sessions. Andy, my swimming teacher, uses effective methods and understands that every individual learns in a different way. I never feel unnecessary pressure or stress; Andy makes sure that everyone feels comfortable. Helpful staff and clean 25m pool. I very much enjoy swimming at Forum Leisure Centre.

Positive experience: My daughter as been going here for swimming lessons for just under a year, she throughly enjoys her lessons and as enjoyed being taught by the various teachers as she has moved through stages. Her new teacher Hannah is brilliant, my daughter as only been in her group for a few weeks but is really comfortable and she always comments after each lesson how much she has enjoyed the lesson and how proud she is of herself. Highly recommended if you are thinking about swimming lessons for your children or even yourself.

Negative experience: DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD COME TO THIS NUSTY PLACE. After my child's fifth period today, I assisted my child get out of the shower. Because I couldn't hold my child to get dressed on the other side, so I put them on the chair. Not even a minute later, I turned around to get them, then everything was thrown on the floor with dirt and hair all over. I literally couldn't understand what kind of human would do that And another parent witnessed the whole thing and alerted me that was made by the cleaner! My child has got eczema and sensitive skin, this cleaner’s behaviour makes me very uncomfortable! WE WILL NOT COME BACK AGAIN!!! THIS PLACE EVEN NOT WORTH A SATRT. THANKS

Negative experience: I am not from leeds and found this remarkably hard to find. Parking was a nightmare and even locals (when asking for directions) had no idea where it was. I went to play badminton and whilst I’m a novice, I know that the nets are supposed to be properly tied and they was not. I will certainly not be attending here again.

C West 1 year ago

Negative experience: Good facilities, but the sports centre is always fully booked up with block bookings, customer service is slow and not very helpful and there's no online booking system which is pretty poor for 2024.

Forum Leisure Centre
Forum Leisure Centre

Hi Sorry to hear this. Our block bookings are local clubs that have been with us for many years and make an upfront payment to use the facility, we do still have plenty of court times available on a first come first serve basis. If you are not a full member you can only book up to 5 days in advance were our full members can book up to 7 days this is were you maybe missing out on slots especially at peak times. We cant provide online basketball bookings due badminton taking place so we manage the bookings from reception. Bookings can be made at reception or over the phone, we have alot of basketball guests that book and play on a daily basis. Happy to discuss further and help with future bookings. Regards

Negative experience: Pool closed without providing any information on opening for ages and charging the same amount. Website is not updated with closing time properly, I went to gym today at 2, but was not allowed entry stating, it closes by 2 on Saturday. Couple of my friends did not like the overall services and behaviour of centre and cancelled membership in group.

Bekah Chapman 2 years ago

Negative experience: Pool still closed (has been for months)

Alex Lyon 2 years ago

Negative experience: Truly dreadful if you're looking to go to the gym, the person at the desk needs to let you in and there's never anyone there, they don't think it's a problem either, also theres not been any changing rooms for months and the pool is randomly closed until further notice

Positive experience: I take my kids to the centre for swimming every weekend. The teachers are friendly and helpful, and the classes are not too large for group sessions, and you can ask for private lessons if you need extra help. There are also karate and a host of other activities available at the centre. Indoor football, basketball, and an equipped gym with various classes! The only gripe is that the building is so thick that you have poor mobile reception indoors.

Negative experience: A member of staff was incredibly rude and confrontational to me today as I went to collect my child at the poolside. She was verbally aggressive towards me infront of my children. I made an attempt to resolve this by reporting to the Deputy Manager where I found that rather than admit to her disgusting behaviour she lied about the whole encounter. I am extremely disappointed at the leisure centers handling of this ordeal. Especially when they are supposed to be wardens protecting families that use the facilities against these sorts of encounters. Rather than properly investigate the issue by asking any of the numerous eye witnesses; parents, staff members and children that were present at the scene and ready to coroborate my experience, they chose to "take my number and ring me later".

Sebastian Mes 4 years ago

Negative experience: No good standard for price

James Ludlow 4 years ago

Positive experience: We visited yesterday with two young children, and we really enjoyed it. All of the facilities were clean and tidy, and quite a good size, the price was good for us too. A pair of goggles were even provided after my daughter had forgotten hers, which was so lovely. There didn't appear to be a lifeguard on duty, although there was a member of staff providing swimming lessons. The security staff who allow entry to the building was for some reason, extremely rude when allowing entry and the staff were aware of this. It's a good alternative to going to a normal leisure centre, however Leeds City council leisure centre might provide a little extra space to move around in.

Fantastic experience: Nice, affordable pool for lane swimming, especially during the day if you can get there, app to book swim times is easy enough to use and staff are generally friendly. Only major criticism is the lack of lane swimming options on Saturdays, only been one lane open for lane swimming on the last two Saturdays I've been, with private lessons in all other parts of the pool. Makes the one lane swimming option more busy and stressful than it might otherwise be. Some weekdays have the pool consumed with school lessons too, which is fine but later evening swimming times would be welcome to give more options.

Simona Svabauskiene 6 years ago

Negative experience: Three weeks ago I bought family membership and already cancelled it. Most of staff are really rude. At second visit I arqued with one of trainers who kicked me and my 4 years old autistic son of changing room because we used it while school lesson wasn't finished. We even weren't informed about it. Furthermore kids swimming pool are too cold, changing rooms without heating and floors always wet where is the risk to slip.

Forum Leisure Centre
Forum Leisure Centre

We apologise for this and we do everything we can as a company to put customers first, We do keep our times up to date for swimming and pool temperature is kept at 29'c, The centre has gone through a refurbishment and all changing rooms are now regularly maintained

Wojciech Dybikowski 6 years ago

Negative experience: Very basic swimming pool (I haven't used the gym). Pretty busy daily until 8 pm (due to swimming lessons). Despite the recent refurbishment the changing rooms not really improved. They kept old lockers that are key operated (you need to leave £5 deposit at the reception to have a key). No drinking water facility at the pool. There is constantly standing water in the dressing room and management/staff seems not to be bother to mop it regularly, especially at peak times. This is health and safety issue and they just ask for a slip/trip to happen. If you use the car park you need to show your ID 3 times (at the gate, by the main door and then at the reception). The only positive fact is the monthly swim pass is only £17.

Forum Leisure Centre
Forum Leisure Centre

We do have set times for swimming and lessons, to see times please look at our website. We have a cleaning schedule in place and we do clean every hour, the lockers are fixed and you no longer have to leave a deposit at reception. we do not have a drinking water facility on the pool due to health and safety however we have a water fountain across from our reception. The car park is managed by Quarry House as it is part of the security, we do not control the gates or the main door. We thank you for your review

John Instone 7 years ago

Negative experience: By far the dirtiest swimming baths I’ve had the misfortune of using. Showers, baby changer, benches all broken. Tiles which should be white but look like something is growing on them. To cap it off the windows have been open for the last month in the pool area. Today it was 11c on the poolside. Why / how they had sense not to close the pool I don’t know. Lifeguard sat there with coat and blankets on. Absolute joke of a pool.

Positive experience: I got the family membership for this pool a few weeks ago. The pool is very clean, water is warm and the staff is very friendly and cooperative. Members are generally nice as well. The only downside is that it's near a chavy area. Chavs come around randomly to steal stuff from the parking lot. Once they took a light off a bike in the evening and the poor cyclist had to go home in the dark.
