Nuffield Health Nuneaton Fitness & Wellbeing Gym: Opinions
Fantastic experience: If you have kids that are not confident swimmers or nervous, Tammy at Nuffield is the person you need! Thank you Tammy for motivating my daughter to always do better and not give up! Your planning and organisation skills for your lessons are incredible, so much so that my daughter does not want to come out the pool! Importantly your communication of absence and gym closures during holidays are really good. Tammy, the time you invest and your dedication to the kids does not go unnoticed- thank you!
Negative experience: I wanted to buy a day pass and use the sauna, but it turns out the service is only available for members. Congratulations to the company.
Fantastic experience: Had a great session with Mia during a swim fit lesson. I’ve swam for many years but have never been able to master the tumble turn. After just one session with her I can finally do it! I’ve had numerous lessons over the years but Mia’s demonstration coupled with her clear, concise instruction is the reason I’m now able to successfully tumble turn. From a retired teacher to an excellent teacher, thank you Mia x
Negative experience: Had a price increase come through and decided to move gyms as its not worth the cost. Price increase came through on the 2nd and I tried to cancel on the 3rd. However, due to not giving a full calendar months notice they're demanding I pay for January as well. There supposed to give a full calendar months notice which they never as the price increase is in January and won't let me end our contract at the end of December. They demand you keep to the contractual rules yet fail to follow their own. Very poor
Fantastic experience: We have been taking quite a lot of classes with Simon and I would like to say that he is an excellent trainer, his instructions are clear, workouts are tough and we genuinely get a lot out of his classes. Thanks Simon!
Fantastic experience: Thank you Mark for assisting me this morning and explaining in layman’s terms how my cholesterol work, I was a bit panicked when I saw my high body fat %. Your positivity and understanding really made my day
Negative experience: Attempted to sign in : I am deeply disappointed with the experience I had, due to the inconsistency and confusion in the information provided. This experience has led me to question the reliability and trustworthiness of the service and company. If there is such a lack of clarity and responsibility in the onboarding stage, I am concerned about the support I will receive in the future if I need. Really frustrated with what happened. I hope the standard of customer support is better for others than what I experienced. Update: Staff kindly give me a call to feedback and apologies
Fantastic experience: Amazing group cycle with John. Structured, professional and fun! Thanks mate
Fantastic experience: Carol was lovely during my visit and look around the gym today .. thankyou so much
Fantastic experience: A lovely lady named carol helped me sign up today & was helpful from start to finish
Fantastic experience: Amazing team, great atmosphere, decent kit.
Negative experience: The two stars I am giving are for the staff as they have always been friendly. The centre itself is in dire need of a massive overhaul. Saying the place is grubby is an understatement. Half of the lockers don’t work. The showers don’t work properly. The floor in the changing room is constantly dirty. The lanes in the pool aren’t wide enough. It seems there are ALWAYS swimming lessons or family swim sessions no matter what time I turn up. We have a public pool ‘The Pingles’ in town and that’s where parents should take their kids. Nuffield need to change to adult only otherwise they’re going to start losing customers because everyone is sick of it!
Negative experience: So I am a member at Derby Nuffield but have used Nuneaton and the difference between the 2 is massive you would think it’s different companies. The Derby gym is really modern really spacious. Equipment is modern and lives up to the state of the art equipment line used. The equipment is Well set out. And is worth the membership price. The Nuneaton one is the opposite. It’s small, not very inviting, strangely laid out. I wouldn’t claim state of the art equipment because it’s not it could really do with some upgrading and fixing it. Machines out of order, bench backs wobble. Honestly it’s far from worth the membership price charged. You expect the same standard throughout the company. The showers could be better in Nuneaton also. Realistically for such a big named and well known company that boasts its gyms high standards …. Nuneaton certainly does not follow it. It should be better for £60+. Which is a big price to pay for a mediocre gym. It’s no comments or faults of anyone who works at Nuneaton it’s more of an observation on the 2 gyms to pass up the line. Someone from Nuffield HQ should check out the difference.
Fantastic experience: Excellent gym. Great classes. Highly recommend
Negative experience: First time here on a Wednesday morning, there's a class taking up all the equipment, no treadmills free because 2 of them are not working, was completely unable to do a work out, also can't get in to the car park. Would expect better for £60 per month.
Negative experience: If you are a serious swimmer or training hard - avoid this gym. It seems to have become a place for NHS recovery We were are unable to train in this premesis and the staff seem either unwilling, or unable to intervene. slow swimming is tolerated (and people walking up and down) in the fast swimming lane. when I ask the staff to intervene I'm told to ask the other members to move out the lane myself, which I have done much to my reluctancy, resulting in a dispute between myself and three other members and I'm sure, this was also an embarrassing situation for them being confronted by another member. There are clear signs and when the pool is checked by staff, people should be asked to move as it stops serious swimmers training. My partner has had similar issues in the gym. Where he has had confrontation with individuals who are refusing to share machines to complete sets and instead are allowed to sit texting on the machine between their sets. Unfortunately, this gym lacks gym etticate and staff control. It seems to be highly over subscribed and judging by recent reviews has teamed up with NHs for pain management - to the detriment of all other members looking to train. Jacuzzi is closed still after originally promising a reopen later in the year. (yet London clubs have kept theirs so why has ours been taken?) It is very normal for people to exit the sauna and use the fast lane of the pool to wipe the sweat off their feet. This is absolutely disgusting and degrading for me when it's right Infront of my face in the water I am stood in. This had happened on several occasions with one resulting in a confrontation. I have found the staff unhelpful and at times rude and dismissive. I would suggest avoiding and instead getting a membership at a gym where people go to build on their health and staff support this.
Fantastic experience: I joined the Joint Pain program at Nuffield as I suffer with Rheumatoid Arthritis, it was a 24 week course consisting of 2 sessions per week where we were giving advice practical and emotionally on how to deal with the health issues we had. Andy was amazing , I thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and gained lots of tips and advice.
Fantastic experience: Good gym for traveling, only 5 pounds
Fantastic experience: I joined the Joint pain programme due to osteoarthritis in my knee’s, attending the group twice a week with Andy and the other group members who we all support one another, really helped me getting back exercising that was right for me not to mention the help with weight loss. It has certainly gave me the confidence to get back in the gym, improved my own mental health wellbeing. I will for one be keeping up my membership as it has renewed my relationship with exercising not to mention the friends made along the way and the support we give each other.
Fantastic experience: I have had a great experience with the Joint pain programme. For 12 weeks, twice weekly, we have got classes with Andy and Sally. This Joint Pain programme is excellent for those with mobility issues and pain. It help us to understand, learn our conditions and to know that we ourselves have to take steps to improve ourselves. Never overdo but keep going steadily. I recommend this programme to those with joint issues.
Fantastic experience: I began the joint pain program in October 2022. I could not even stand during the warm up at the beginning of the program. 9 months later and I am doing Yoga, Bodypump, Kettlebells, Spin, Bodybalance and Aqua Zumba! I cannot express my gratitude to Andy Cousins enough for his guidance during those first three months in class and for always being available to help and advise me if I need it. This is a fantastic gym, the staff are always friendly and approachable, including the class instructors. I highly recommend it!
Fantastic experience: I attend as part of the joint pain program and can honestly say it has been life changing. Whilst I’m still too young for a knee replacement, my symptoms are better managed and the frequent exercise in the pool has left me with more movement.Big thanks to Andy our program leader for his support and encouragement.
Fantastic experience: Andy Cousins has been helping and advising us through a process called: "Joint Management" This is available through your doctor or health advisor. Andy has done a fantastic job of building my muscles up so I feel stronger in my body, but also helping with the mental side of things we all suffer from. This has given me a more positive outlook to my future.
Fantastic experience: I have attended Nuffield Gym for several years. I'm surprised by the negative comments on this forum. Yes, the Jacuzzi has been closed, due to the spiralling electricity costs, as many companies have but there is an excellent sauna, steam room and pool. The range of classes are excellent especially the Pilates, Body Balance and Yoga - the instructors are fabulous. There are also a wider range of classes to suit everybody from Rig, Body Pump, Aqua, Get into weights, Kettle Bells and a range Dance style classes. There are a range of specialist classes for people who have limited movement - chair yoga and the joint pain classes etc. The instructors make the classes fun although some can be challenging it's amazing what can be achieved even for somebody of 61 There's a relaxing area near reception with comfortable chairs where people often stop and chat. The gym is constantly being updated ...yes sometimes equipment breaks down but it's mended in a timely manner. I have also used the Physiotherapy Services based at the gym, thank you Ben - excellent service. (There are discounts for members of the gym) all in All, I would highly recommend Nuffield Gym Nuneaton. mostly the staff are smiley and chatty even the reception and cleaning staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes, cleaning after the members who have trouble cleaning up after themselves!
Fantastic experience: Joint Pain Programme I broke my back, L3 & L1 and was suffering in various different ways. Andy and Sally were both wonderful and taught me so much. They never pushed me too far as I was nervous of some activities. However, I managed to participate in all activities at my own pace. I would highly recommend this course.
Fantastic experience: I took part in the Nuffield Joint Pain in January. I learned so much on how to deal with the pain and reduce my reliance on pain killers. This programme is open to members and non-members alike. Non-members also get free use of the gym facilities for 24 weeks. You've got nothing to lose, other than the pain!! Andy, who runs the classes, is also very knowledgeable
Fantastic experience: Nuffield Health Nuneaton is very friendly and welcoming. I joined through attending the Joint Pain Programme which was an excellent 12 week course led by instructor Andy. I self-referred to the programme and, after a suitability assessment by Andy, started the course as one of twelve participants. The groups sessions of discussion and gentle exercise have helped me understand my condition and take steps to better fitness and health. I highly recommend this programme.
Fantastic experience: Staff very helpful and friendly, If you struggle with joint pain the joint pain programme, run by Andy who is a lovely guy is brilliant for helping with disabilities and health conditions also Sally who does classes to help with mobility
Fantastic experience: Staff all very nice and polite I joined the pain and joint programme. It was great. Run by Andy and Sally who went beyond what they needed to do. Very happy that I joined. And thank you guys very much
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place with friendly staff. V helpful. if you have joint pain- join the 12 week joint pain course. It is great and good for people with health conditions and disabilities. Andy is a great instructor and very helpful as is Sally.
Fantastic experience: Excellent joint pain programme
Fantastic experience: I came to Nuffield as part of the Joint Pain Programme. The support of both my fellow participants and staff, especially Andy, who guided us all with encouragement and empathy. I’m still attending some classes and occasionally the gym. This is a massive move forward for me. Thankyou.
Fantastic experience: I have been attending the joint pain management exercise programme with Andy and I must say it has been a very good experience. I have learnt from others as well as what equipment can help me. Highly recommend. Pam.
Fantastic experience: I came to Nuffield on the joint pain program as I have really bad knees. Andy was my trainer who helped me and the group tremendously. It has helped me to strengthen my knees and deal with the pain when I have an inflammation. Definitely recommend this for people who suffer with joint pain.
Fantastic experience: Joint Pain Group.....2 hourly sessions weekly for 12 supported weeks. Excellent .. Staff knowledgeable and friendly. Nice to mix with a small but perfect bunch of people....try it if you suffer you are not on you're own and you will be surprised what you learn and achieve.Well done Nuffield and team.
Fantastic experience: Joined pain management course.1st you do 2 days week 1hr ...1/2 teaching you about trying to manage ur pain then 1/2 hr of gentle exercises ... It then carries on .with us getting health check then a gym program to suit the individual person ..iv found it been very good. Iv learnt a lot about myself and what exercises will benefit my health and pain ... Andy has been very helpful. And understanding of what our issues are ..Highly recommend the course ..Met some nice new friends in group who help p to support each other .... All staff are friendly and helpf6...
Fantastic experience: When I joined nuffield nuneaton it was the pool area for me over the gym as I had bad back and other mobility issues then I seen an ad that they where running a pain management course which I signed up for met Andy Cousin the pt and he has helped change my life by showing me how to adapt the exercises to my needs to now I'm lifting weights and mobility has improved that I'm not taking pain killers and can do more in my everyday life. The whole team at the gym are friendly and helpful
Fantastic experience: It was with some trepidation that i joined this but i can only recommend anyone suffering with joint pain to enrol in the Nuneaton Nuffield'Joint Pain 'Clinic '. Andy and Sally (our 'advisors')were amazing, adapting to the different needs of the group. Friendships were made with ongoing gym use .
Fantastic experience: Have had an excellent experience on the joint pain programme. Fully supported for 3 months then encouraged to self motivate. The group have been very supportive to each other and Andy and Sally available for support if needed. I feel a lot more confident to take part in the classes but work at my own pace and ability. All the instructors are very supportive as well. Thoroughly recommend this programme to anybody that struggles to exercise.
Fantastic experience: Started on the Joint Pain Programme run by the gym. Found the experience valuable in managing my pain and wellbeing while getting fitter. Plan to continue in the gym after the programme.
Negative experience: Never visited, was thinking of joining but after reading the terrible reviews and your even worse your responses to many members that clearly aren’t happy we certainly will give it a miss …… you clearly do not offer good value and you are defending a business that clearly only wants to extract money
Negative experience: Dirty grubby even moldy in places, changing rooms, showers & wet areas in desperate need of an upgrade. Over subscribed, very difficult to get onto any of the classes, always at least 10 on the waiting lists. Cancelled membership.
Hi, sorry to read you were unhappy with your club membership. We will look at the areas identified in your review and take action, where necessary. With regards, the Nuffield Health Nuneaton Fitness and Wellbeing Centre
Negative experience: Serious concerns about this gym. "Discrimination" and "lying" are at the centre of their ethics. If you make a valid complaint all the staff (including manager) gang up and begin making false alibis. Go read some books and attend some courses. We're no longer living in England during the 70's.
Hi, apologies for any aspect of your membership that you are dissatisfied with. If you remain unhappy, our full complaints process can be found here: https://www.nuffieldhealth.com/contact-us/complaints-gyms With regards, the Nuffield Health Nuneaton Fitness and Wellbeing Centre
Negative experience: Change the closing times to 9:45 if this is the time you are going to kick us out. When told to leave at 9:45 I told the staff member I had 2 minutes left on the treadmill, she just said no in a tone that felt like I was being told off. They don’t close the door until 10 so what difference would it of made? You’ll would be leaving work on time regardless and I’d of been able to workout for the extra 2 minutes I signed up for and pay for.
Hi Wasim, thanks for this feedback and apologies for any offence this interaction caused. Doors are locked at 10:00, so we'll make sure the website is updated to reflect this rule. With regards, the Nuffield Health Nuneaton Fitness and Wellbeing Centre
Negative experience: No cleanliness, saving on paper, closed the yacuzzi, dirty changing room, but they keep raising monthly membership.
Hi Steve, thanks for this feedback and apologies for the impact the spa pool permanent closure will have had on your club visits. As a trading charity we would like to confirm that any revenue raised from these actions will be reinvested into the club’s operational costs and to further expand our community programmes. We will continue to focus on club standards, to make sure all areas of the club are clean and functional. With regards, the Nuffield Health Nuneaton Fitness and Wellbeing Centre
Negative experience: Always overcrowded and have to wait for ages to get on anything. So expensive too. The quality of the gym and the equipment is just not good enough for the price you pay. Do not recommend.
Hi Jack, thank you for this feedback and apologies for any element of your club visits that were below standard. With regards, the Nuffield Health Nuneaton Fitness and Wellbeing Centre
Positive experience: Nuffield is a great gym, lots of classes in the studio and on the gym floor. Friendly instructors (bar one!) and good equipment. Only issue is turning air con off when the energy price goes up and switching the jacuzzi off! Changing room needs attention as it dated now but they have replaced the tiles around the pool and shower area so hopefully changing rooms are next. Good value if you work for NHS…..
Hi, thanks for this positive rating and we are pleased to read that overall, you are enjoying your club visits. The spa pool is now permanently closed. We would like to apologise for any impact this has had on your club visits. Best wishes, the Nuffield Health Nuneaton Fitness and Wellbeing Team
Negative experience: They closed jaccuzi for winter time without reducing membership price.I understand reducing energy cost but personally I would rather play £5 more and have left jacuzzi or leave just one sauna. For me jacuzzi was main thing in this gym..
Hi Renat, thanks for this feedback and apologies for the impact the spa pool closure will have had on your visits. Unfortunately, any savings made from this action have been used to meet our increased operational costs. Therefore, we are not in the position to provide a discount for the discontinuation of this facility. With regards, the Nuffield Health Nuneaton Fitness and Wellbeing Centre
Positive experience: The pool area is small - often 1 or 2 lanes taken up with children’s swimming lessons. Only 2 sun loungers. Decor dated, especially in changing room - old lockers, looks more like a council run leisure centre private. Monthly fees just increased and over priced. Friendly staff and facilities kept very clean.
Hi Mia, thanks for your rating and apologies for any element of your club visits that have not been to standard. The new management team are continuing to work on club standards, and we hope that you notice an improvement in your club experience, going forward. With regards, the Nuffield Health Nuneaton Fitness and Wellbeing Centre
Negative experience: Been a member for a year and air conditioning hasn't worked the whole time. Feels over subscribed with too many people.
Hi James, thanks for this feedback and apologies for any element of your club visits that were not to standard. We hope we can welcome you back to the club in the future. With regards, the Nuffield Health Nuneaton Fitness and Wellbeing Centre
Negative experience: New member and it's Just too hot too do anything, No air conditioning and can't open the windows so it's effectively like training in a greenhouse. I have to go into the sauna to cool down. Shame.
Hi Shaun, thank you for this feedback and apologies for the issues experienced. The AC is now repaired, we would however like to apologise for the impact this had on your visits last Summer. With regards, the Nuffield Health Nuneaton Fitness and Wellbeing Centre
Negative experience: One star is too much for them.... Stay away if you want a decent service with decent staff to treat you with respect.
Fantastic experience: I have been a member for 15 years. It has been essential for my health. 2 years ago I had cancer and have had 2 major operations, lost all my muscle and could hardly walk. On both occasions I adopted a programme of swimming to take my body weight. It has worked brilliantly. Without my controlled exercise I would not be here today. The Nuffield is perfect.
Fantastic experience: I started going to Nuffield Nuneaton gym a couple of months ago. It is very friendly with a wide range of facilities. Wide selection of classes at various times of day with welcoming and supportive instructors, also a very user friendly app which makes it easy to book classes. I have also been going to personal training sessions and Andy has been very encouraging; helping me to improve my fitness and confidence around the gym. The gym has now become part of my regular routine and I enjoy going.
Fantastic experience: Nice and friendly gym , started going a couple of months ago and really enjoy it . Nice atmosphere, all the PTs are very friendly and helpful. The PT sessions are very good. Andy C is good too and puts me through my paces on a weekly basis
Fantastic experience: Andy was in gym when I asked him for help. Very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!
Fantastic experience: I cannot fault Nuneaton Nuffield Health. I moved from Kent recently and needed to transfer my membership. I booked a look around the centre, Jake was brilliant. I had no trouble at all with paperwork and their booking system works brilliantly.
Fantastic experience: The team are excellent. From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out, you feel truly welcome. The site has all the equipment you need and I've noticed that they are always looking at how to improve the gym. Definitely take advantage of the swimming pool and sauna after your session or class followed by a nice costa coffee after.
Positive experience: I’ve recently joined Nuffield Nuneaton. I love the APP and being able to book myself on a class. So far have done a couple of classes and really enjoyed them. Haven’t ventured into the GYM yet but will soon. If I were to pick on a negative it’s that I wish the pool was a little bigger and deeper. The deepest part is like 3ft 6” and about 4 or 5 lanes only which seems more kiddy proof than for adults - it was for being able to swim that was my main reason for joining. The jacuzzi, at times when I have been so I could have been unlucky, seems full of men in group sizes of 4 to 8 so I won’t go in it as a female on my own. Apart from that it all presents well and is friendly and clean.
Negative experience: dead gym
Positive experience: Nice atmosphere and the team is always helpful and professional, the downside is that equipment is not very well maintained and gym is often very busy
Negative experience: I checked if it was disabled friendly and was assured it was fully geared up for people like me.Clearly they think all disabled people come with a carer attached because without one to hold doors open and move obstacles even the toilet was not accessible .As for the frosty welcome at reception,I feel like the poor relative we don't talk about. clearly this is all about wannabe yummy mummies letting their kids burn off a bit of energy in someone else's space.
Negative experience: Not impressed..They need to make sure that Teenagers exactly know what they are signing up for or their membership just keeps rolling over every month without them actually using the facilities :-(
Negative experience: Not worth the money. Something is out of order every week, staff act like you owe them something. About 50% of people in the gym are on repeat free passes, real members are continuously milked in full. I know a few friends who have had repeat 1 month, 10 day passes etc. Can't wait for my contract to expire so I can move on. Don't make my mistake.
Negative experience: Maintenance is extremely poor at this place, yet they keep taking your full monthly membership. For the last month the steam bath has been out of action and nothing has been done. The spinner to dry your swimming trunks has been out of action for the last week or so and still not sorted. One of the shower door is missing, offering no privacy and is still not replaced. Sometimes machines are out of action and they don't get fixed quickly. Seems like poor management when it comes to fixing things.
Negative experience: Does anybody know hom much the gym membership is as it says in the site £44 a month and not to sure if this is right as it's a bit expensive thanks
Good Afternoon Cal. The price on the website is the correct price, there is also an off-peak membership that you can join with. The best recommendation is to speak with the site directly to find out more about the membership options available to you. Kind regards, Nuffield Health Nuneaton Fitness & Wellbeing Gym.
Fantastic experience: Great
Good morning Jonny, thank-you for your recent review. We appreciate member feedback and are grateful for your 5 star rating! We hope to see you back in our gym again soon. Kind regards, Nuffield Health Nuneaton Fitness & Wellbeing Gym.
Fantastic experience: Equipment and space for workout is spot on for the volume of people when I go from 4pm to 6pm. I've never had issues with getting on equipment so long may that continue. I don't use the swimming and sauna so I can't comment but from viewing, it seems a good size swimming area for a relaxing swim, I guess if you want bigger you go to a proper swimming facility. Staff are always friendly and helpful. I've enjoyed the facility so far
Morning Andrew, Thank you for your 5* review of our Nuneaton gym! We appreciate you taking the time to post feedback.
Positive experience: Having visited many of the nuffield gyms, this is the poorest out of the 3 I have visited in England so far. The sauna is forever having problem's...the clocks ain't situated in appropriate places.... What would make this gym better? 1.The sauna needs updating and mending 2. The lockers need changing with the key card entry system, so we are not forever trying to look for pound coins. 3.Someone with a little common sense to reposition the clocks instead of hiding them behind gym equipment. However, despite the small flaws, the gym is the best in the area, if you want better, you would have to commute about 30 minutes extra to meet the facilities these have to offer.
Good morning Daniel, we are very sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience in our gym. Thank you for taking the time to write this constructive review of our Nuneaton Gym. We appreciate all feedback, both good and bad, and use it to better our service. Kind regards, Nuffield Health Nuneaton Fitness & Wellbeing Gym.
Positive experience: This Gym is below par for how much they charge per month, compared to 'David Lloyd' or 'Virgin Active Gyms' Nuffield Health Nuneaton is just too small! The gym area is too busy in peak times not enough space for the volume of people they are trying to attract. The pool area is nothing special again too small not enough space. Another massive factor is their opening times compared to other competitor leisure clubs, Nuffield health should be open 6:30 - 23:00 six days a week as a minimum this will allow all users to have a more relaxed workout and make peak times less busy.
Dear member, thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you are not completely happy with your gym experience. I have shared your constructive feedback with the gym manager and would like to thank you for taking the time to present this feedback to us. Kind regards, Ben, Nuffield Health consumer care
Negative experience: Your prices are not under the prices on yoir website
Hi Gemma, I apologise that you were unable to find the prices. Membership costs begin at £48 per month for our long-term contracts. Further information can be found via https://www.nuffieldhealth.com/gyms/nuneaton/membership alternatively please contact the club on 02476 992 414 alternatively please feel free to apply for a 1 day pass by using the link that I have supplied. With kind regards, Ben, Nuffield Health consumer care
Negative experience: I am a member at this gym and have been since it was the old Cannons. Since then the gym has had new equipment but very little else, oh forgot to mention the much needed refit of the changing rooms, which may I add could do with this being carried out again! TV screens that you can see but can't hear as the audio equipment on the treadmill and cross trainers does not work to the TV stations selected or to the music being played in the gym, I can say however I watched the Liverpool V Man United Game yesterday whilst completing my workout!! Equipment at this gym is always in need of repair and constantly out of order, (awaiting parts) and some have been prior to Christmas 2015! The weighing scales again not working since Christmas 2015 are still not working. The staff however, (management excluded) are friendly and try to be helpful most of the times. It's ok as a gym when location dictates that nowhere else is convenient but with the top prices paid for the use of this facility you should be expecting and getting more!
Dear Mr Dahri, thank you for taking the time to feedback your recent gym experiences. We take constructive feedback extremely seriously and as such Ian and his team have investigated the issues that you have raised. I am pleased to advise that the scales are now in full working order, we apologise for the delay but where possible we attempt to repair before replacing. As this was a top of the range scale, a detailed examination of the equipment needed to take place before replacement to determine the fault. Following feedback from yourself and other members the audio equipment in the gym will be undergoing a full audit over the coming months. Lastly, with regards to the equipment we appreciate the feedback and apologise that in two instances in particular there has been a small delay in repairing the equipment. This was unfortunately an issue with our servicer, which has since been rectified. On behalf of Nuffield health we would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention and similarly the general manager also appreciates you also feeding this back directly to him. Kind Regards, Ben, Nuffield Health consumer care
Fantastic experience: The staff are friendly and gym is very clean could not ask for more
Negative experience: Considering how much they charge, the maintenance is woeful. Steam room walls and floor often slimy, glass doors have calcium streaks. Grill around pool has black mould. Sauna has planks of wood missing for at LEAST 2 years! Jacuzzi has had 1/2 the jets disabled, and despite being told at least 6 times, the tiles around the edge of the jacuzzi are NOT round edged, but cheaper standard bath tiles. This has the effect of having sharp edges all around the jacuzzi! Add to this the fact that kids are having swimming lessons and the floor is wet (due to being right next to the swimming pool, it's an accident WAITING to happen. Managers have been REPEATEDLY warned of this, yet REFUSE time and time again to do ANYTHING! Recently the shower rooms were upgraded, but AGAIN they neglected to put non slip steps up to the raised cubicles. This if anyone slipped (as DID happen), the likelihood of someone cracking their head open on a wet floor was there! It seems the staff there are either unwilling or unable to look into such BASIC safety issues! If it were a council run facility there MIGHT be an excuse due to numbers, but a PRIVATE club! INEXCUSABLE! These serious safety issues have been there for YEARS! So it is penny pinching! I just hope that no kid cracks his head open on the jacuzzi tiles. I certainly wouldn't want the blood of a child on my hands for the sake of replacing a few tiles!
