Spirit Health Club: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Great gym. Has a little of everything. Great pool and jacuzzi for relaxing muscles after a hard workout.
Fantastic experience: Nice relaxed place was my first time in a gym and got me hooked
Negative experience: Full of kids having swimming lessons and not that cheap to be a member, so i think I will cancel.
Fantastic experience: Amazing small gym. What can I say? I'm getting back into fitness and was a little nervous and this amazing place has made me feel right at home. The weights room is fairly small but I had no issues getting on machines, same goes for treadmills and cross trainers. The gym is very clean and has a pool and a jacuzzi that are great for post work-out routines. The showers are clean, powerful and go nice and hot. You've found a new member and I'm here to stay and a special thanks to Monica who runs the gym and is so helpful and pleasant. 10/10
Negative experience: Don't bother is my best advice. It's a circus rather than a gym. It's an unsupervised gym so basically people can do whatever they want. Children are often in the gym messing about and in the jacuzzi. If you come from 4-7 I wouldn't bother trying to get in the weights room or jacuzzi as they're pretty much taken up by selfish friend groups who use them as a social hub and spend am hour or so in the jacuzzi chatting. There's rarely a day something isn't out of use. The pool and jacuzzi weren't working for three weeks then the sauna for a month and now the water machine. There is nothing good about this gym except I get a small corporate discount but even this isn't going to keep me here, I'd rather spend another £30 a month and get a profession, clean well maintained and staffed gym.
Fantastic experience: Well worth the money, should be the title of my review! We joined spirit health club with the intention of keeping fit. After a induction by Monika, who incidentally is superb in her role of manager, we have all gradually improved our fitness levels noticeably. It’s a great place to come and keep fit or to relax. The swimming pool suits all levels with a section set aside for clockwise swimming. The steam room hot and steamy with eucalyptus oils in the air to open your airways. Jacuzzi with timer so you can relax but not overdo it. Sauna rooms for both male and female changing rooms so there’s no sharing! Changing rooms are clean and there are showers and lockers in good working order.Cardio and weights fitness rooms with bang up to date equipment including a peloton bike which you can set your own account with (included with your membership) so no extra money to spend. Cooled drinking water on tap and tissues and anti-bacterial spray to keep machines clean. I’ve yet to try the treatment room, but I’ve heard nothing but good reports of massage’s that are very good value. Membership also gives you 20% off food and drink in the bar and restaurant, Monika is great at encouraging you and suggests new workout routines to keep you focused. I definitely recommend spirits health club!
Positive experience: Facilities often are out of use for extended periods of time which isn't reflected in monthly membership. Changing rooms not the cleanest. Hoping will show signs of improvement soon and just teething problems after being closed for so long
Negative experience: The hygiene is terrible, there was brown substance leading into the changing room from the toilet for the whole hour I was there. Would not recommend.
Fantastic experience: Lovely afternoon out with gym, massage and pool
Fantastic experience: Cosy spa and fitness centre without all the B.S!
Negative experience: Wasn't impressed with my visit. I popped in to enquire about membership only to stand there for a few minutes being ignored by someone eating their dinner at the reception desk . I wouldn't mind but I wasn't even acknowledged whilst standing there. They just carried on eating after noticing me standing there
Positive experience: Found a good deal via Groupon for Day Spa. For £19 can't really complain... Lovely, friendly staff. Had a great 30 minute Swedish back massage by a lady called Pam. Facilities are clean- Jacuzzi, steam room & pool. Lunch was delicious & parking is free. A nice day out.
Positive experience: Friendly club with helpful staff.
Negative experience: Wonderful and helpful staff is the only thing keeping the shambles of a gym going. Regularly equipment is broken due to negligence to replace aging machinery along with substandard air con. Currently the hot tub has been broken for two weeks along with aircon in half the building. The list continues. To add insult to injury free towels at a gym that membership is not cheap have been removed. It is fair to say the wonderful staff at the gym bare the brunt of angry members, while higher management at director levels get away not having to deal with their financial decisions.
Fantastic experience: Great friendly staff...great facilities
