Ping Pong Parlours are ‘pop-up’ spaces (usually empty shop units), filled with table tennis tables to provide a fun, accessible venue for passers-by to play ping pong for free as well as creating a buzz in shopping centres and the High Street.
In 2021 the Ping Pong Parlour project won the Activation Award in the prestigious ukactive national awards. The project was also shortlisted for a Sports Industry Award in 2019.
Just pop your postcode into the ‘Places to Play’ map using the link below and use the Ping Pong Parlour filter, or simply search for Ping Pong Parlour!
Generally Ping Pong Parlours follow the normal opening hours of the shopping centre, but we advise you check ahead with the centre to avoid disappointment.
Ping Pong Parlours are not staffed, we rely on the people who play in them to respect the equipment and not remove bats and balls, so that everybody can continue to enjoy using the facilities.
If you would like to volunteer at your local Ping Pong Parlour: whether that might be with some coaching; leading a Bat & Chat session; running a competition; or in any other way; we’d love to hear from you! Get in touch
ping pong parlour: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Visited Durham today what a great place to go while doing some shopping
Fantastic experience: This is brilliant! The 9 year old I look after loves this! We've been very fortunate that we've never had to wait long for a game and there is always a great atmosphere in there with other players. Best of all, it's free!
Positive experience: It's free ping pong. Unfortunately (but not surprisingly) people have stolen the paddles and balls so bring your own. Also, it's quite popular so you might need to wait a bit to get a table.
Fantastic experience: great place with great atmosphere. I is literally free. No one is trying to sell you anything. They are very friendly and will help children learn ping pong. Paddles and balls included
