YMCA Wimbledon (part of YMCA St Paul's Group): Opinions
Negative experience: Poor management -Group classes are unstable -Instrucrtors are keep changing for many classes -no any assitance when teacher the is absent -the app used for booking classes is not user-friendly (e.g app will not update immediately after you have paid, confusing to pay twice) -never respond emails or complain Most instructors are professional, but due to the management, I am bit disappointed of it...
Fantastic experience: Lovely way to start the day with a reformer pilayes class at 7.30 am with Femina
Fantastic experience: Was my first time visiting the ymca, the people were very friendly and helpful. I loved the reformer Pilates studio and the teacher was so helpful. I am a beginner to the reformer Pilates but the instructor was great
Fantastic experience: First class today and it was great. The instructor was very attentive and gave great instructions.
Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed my reformer Pilates class this morning. It was a great work out and the attention to my personal needs was well appreciated
Fantastic experience: Wow! What a way to start the day! 7.30am reformer class with Femina! All the tightness in hips disappeared and feel like I am walking taller! What’s not to love!
Fantastic experience: The newly built YMCA gym in Wimbledon is beautifully clean with lovely new equipment and well-trained instructors. The gym instructors are longstanding valued staff who are very much appreciated by regular users such as myself. Some of the classes have a community feel and attendees go for a coffee afterwards. The value is very good for Wimbledon, where there are many gyms to choose from. The changing rooms are small but you can get used to it and the new showers are hot, spacious and kept clean.
Negative experience: Absolutely terrible customer service, as never experienced before. I've been trying to get hold of someone for 3 weeks to cancel my membership but nothing, I don't know what else to do.
We sincerely apologise for the delay regarding your membership cancellation request. A member of our Health and Wellbeing team will be in touch with you directly soon regarding this request and to discuss this further with you.
Fantastic experience: Following the recent building refurbishment - the gym is wonderful. Nicely decorated, brand new modern machines & not intimidating. Staff were helpful and polite.
Thank you for your review. We're delighted to hear you're enjoying our brand new gym.
Fantastic experience: Incredible
Fantastic experience: Nice new reformer studio
Thank you for your review. We are proud of our new Reformer Pilates Studio. Hope you enjoy your classes.
Negative experience: The gym is dirty men changein room needs jet wash and sunaa smill like urine
Negative experience: The gym is like stepping into a time machine to the 80s
Positive experience: Gym, volleyball.
Negative experience: Dirty gym and old equipment. Always a lingering smell of BO and weed. Poor gym etiquette by many including a regular attendee who claims to have instructor experience and gives advice to other users which is unsought after. I know I’m not the only one. I feel uneasy being watched by this man and though I appreciate that he may be trying to help, I go to the gym as a place where I would like to be working out uninterrupted and without the feeling of someone watching and judging my form
Fantastic experience: Great Awesome place
Many thanks for your review. We aim to strengthen communities through housing, health and wellbeing and children's services, and are delighted that you are pleased with what we are doing!
Positive experience: I loved it. Everything was great.
Positive experience: I don't know about the gym and other things...but I come here for the soft play. Its not a huge soft play but that suits me well sometimes as my boys are playing right in front of me and I can relax without wondering where they are. It's usually a quiet peaceful atmosphere so if you're into that like me then this soft play is for you! (It CAN get busy at times but not a lot). And the best part? It's cheaper than a lot of soft plays I know! There is the main soft play room, a toilet and changing facilities section and a separate play room where there are toys and a couch to relax on. Cosy atmosphere. They also have a canteen which is opening from Tuesday again. And they have classes and play groups for kids which are also starting again from Tuesday
Negative experience: Pod 2 soft play area requires you full registration before you enter! Filling in a form with all details (age of child, date of birth, your details, address, phone etc plus your emergency contact details in case something happened to yourself!!) - seriously??!! Cafe is closed on the weekends - too much hassle!
Fantastic experience: Great little gym with all necessary equipment. Love this place
Positive experience: Good enough gym, and cheap for the area, but *some* of the staff are very unhelpful and borderline rude.
Negative experience: To busy
Positive experience: Great staff, clean tidy throughout, Good Quality food, modern gym, would recomend anyone to stay there..
Fantastic experience: Perfect place for youth activities on the weekend
Positive experience: Does a great job but it needs refurbishment
Negative experience: The Body Pump instructor didn't know how to perform most of the exercises, specially squats and pushups, resulting in most of the class performing harmful movements. For example she would perform squats by putting the weight over her shoulders and, while keeping the legs straight, she would move her head and torso down and up, arching her back forward, presenting a huge risk of injury for the attendance following her lead.
Positive experience: Good classes, new gym (bit small but rarely crowded) nicest staff I have seen. Been going for a couple of years.
