PureGym London Canary Wharf

Positive experience: Good gym but busy in the evenings. Usual set of equipment from PureGym.

Negative experience: Extremley poor membership services department. I have been working overseas and had a 'Plus' membership. Apparently I am able to 'Freeze' my membership but the website is very limited and only allows you to do in small increments. This is a massive 'yawn yawn' when overseas. Mine unfreezed and was charging me even though I had been to the gym. Tried to explain to Pure but they didn't want to demonstrate any flexibility or understanding. I really thought the days of these types of gym companies were over, caring more about fleecing customers over minor technicalities than long term loyalty. Looking forward to joining a new gym.

Fantastic experience: Great staff Very friendly members, great location

Fantastic experience: Top quality and worth the price (for London) but like all London gyms just make sure you go when it's relatively quiet for the best experience.

Negative experience: Emergency number is absolutely useless. A thief broke in at London Canary Wharf gym and broke the lockers even with locks. More than 5 lockers were broken. not sure how many unlocked ones. One guy noticed the thief and called emergency. I called emergency and they said come in morning. Not sure what a bigger emergency would be than a thief being inside the gym. Eventually we ourselves informed everyone else in the gym to secure their lockers. Has been more than 24 hrs but gym has done nothing.

Negative experience: I have been here for months Wifi barely work and lately it doesn’t work And you can not use your own mobile data Machines are old and there is a lack in so many machines regarding leg and back machines

Fantastic experience: Had a great session in the gym. After 9 a.m., it is the best time to go. Very quiet, and you can get on all the equipment

Negative experience: My experience after 1 weeks membership of Pure Gym have been very negative, at every visit I am met by a foul stench from the toilets that completely fills the men’s changing room. I find the complete lack of respect for customers time from several staff members disgusting. Monday I booked a Get Started class with Wesley Lau but he never arrived, today the same thing happened, I had a Bodytone class booked with Fares Mahieddine but he did not bother to show. Very disappointing making the way there only to be stood up, will be looking for another gym.

Positive experience: It gets really busy during the peak time and forget about going on a Saturday or Sunday at lunch time since many bodybuilders will take over the machines for hours. If you get to go at the right time it is very nice, you get everything you need to workout and motivate yourself. Clean and tidy all the time, even the changing rooms.

Positive experience: Just joined, and seems to have a good choice of classes and equipment. I have been twice, and there are the usual people sitting on machines for too long rather than using and just moving on, but this happens in most gyms. The one thing that would be great for the team to keep any eye on is the sled area. On both visits, people using this area this for weights and stretching, which means I have not had the chance to use. Should not be for users to marshel, should really be staff.

Positive experience: I think the Gym is pretty OK, I paid for the daily use and I had no problems, the machines are good but I do miss some of them. The staff is kinda weird, I saw many people doing the exercises clearly wrong and there seemed to be no one to help them.

Fantastic experience: Amazing - Marina's classes absolutely make my week, she is phenomenal! also Sara's spin classes are utterly amazing...

Positive experience: Decent Puregym. Not very focused on heavy lifting. Most members prefer standard fitness/bodybuilding workouts. The equipment and atmosphere reflects this preference

Negative experience: I purchased a day pass to try out this gym before buying membership. I was charged and received a receipt to my email address, but not a PIN. I can’t speak to a human to help me, only bots and they say my question will be dealt with ‘in the next 12hrs’, which is after I wanted to use the gym. What a scam.

Fantastic experience: Been going to the gym for over 6 years now, a decent gym. Sometimes can take a while to sort out broken equipment and the drinks machine not having all the flavours. Huge shoutout to Fares though - a very friendly and approachable member of staff, his spin classes are great too- good music and lots of calories burned. A great asset to the PGCW team

Negative experience: I recently visited PureGym with my wife, and we had a disappointing experience with one of the personal trainers. When my wife had a question about a workout, the trainer simply ignored her and said he couldn't explain because he was training someone else. Even though he was working with another person, he still had the time to quickly address her query or show her the correct workout. Unfortunately, he chose not to do that. If trainers at PureGym behave this way, it may drive members to seek out other gyms where they feel respected and supported. Personal trainers should be respectful and polite to all members, offering guidance when needed rather than just showing off or focusing on a select few. I hope the management at PureGym addresses this issue and ensures that trainers are properly trained to assist all members with their fitness needs.

Fantastic experience: Great range of equipment. Good space. Great location.

Positive experience: Decent gym with regards to equipment. Members don't tend to put their weights away when they're finished with them so you have to search for stuff sometimes. Classes are ok, but often have instructors arriving a minute or two after the starting time - they should be there a couple minutes early to assist any newcomers so the class can start on time. Can be a little messy when coming in the morning, but they do tidy up a few times during the week. Afternoon has been too busy to train the few times I tried, so come early morning now and it's not often you have to wait for equipment. Overall it's ok. Could use more lockers in the front of the gym for people not wanting to use the lockers, which have been broken into I believe. They did redo the changing rooms in 2023 (I think) and they sorted the drainage issue as far as I know.

Negative experience: Miserable experience, average facilities; NOT THAT AFFORDABLE, an entire month at my home gym costs as much as a day pass, you’d think with the money they save employing ZERO HUMANS they should have top notch equipment and facilities; the free weights were not reracked apprpriately and were all mixed up

Positive experience: Too busy at times that I’ve had to wait for long periods of time. Some equipment worn out. Generally ok but a bit annoying it’s more expensive that other pure gym branches

Negative experience: The aircon is NEVER on ! Not even when the gym it’s at full capacity. Spinning class in a small rooom with not aircon on. Please avoid if you can !

Negative experience: I love everything about this gym except one thing: Break Dancers in the free workout area all the time. ALL THE F TIME. They take half of the space, so you almost never have access to the mirrors. They turn on the loud music so you don’t hear anything, including what’s in your earphones. The smell after them, especially if the group is large… I just can’t stand it. Why the management gives permission to do classes / jams without booking a class room? Feels like a public outdoor gym. Please fix it

Negative experience: Was looking to change from my regular pure gym to this branch. Unfortunately I had a shockingly horrible experience with the male tall trainer that works here. He is extremely aggressive and rude. The first day I attended he consistently stared at me whilst training another person. The next day I approached him to ask for help on adjusting the leg extension machine as he was the only staff member on the floor. He acted very weirdly and told me that he didn’t understand my problem and that the equipment I use at my usual gym isn’t “real gym equipment” (even though it is another Pure Gym). He aggressively spoke over me and when I asked that he let me talk, he rudely demanded “Speak then” and stormed away from me. He obviously has some serious issues and has problems with speaking to women. After the encounter I went to the women’s changing rooms and was shocked about the experience. Another female regular gym goer approached me and told that he is consistently rude to women - he had laughed at a girl who was struggling to keep up in his spin class. I can see that she has also left a review and said that his name is Fares Mahieddine. When I asked this trainer to show me where the manager was, he pointed to the managers door then shouted across the gym “you’re welcome” at me. The manager said that he would contact me about my experience but didn’t. They clearly don’t care about this staff member making women uncomfortable. Overall the gym is fine, there is a good variety of equipment. But I wouldn’t go back again based on the abusive staff member and the carelessness of the manager. If you are a woman, I would stay far away from here and go to the Limehouse or Bow wharf branch instead. As for the trainer, maybe he should look into anger management sessions to control his attitude towards women. Or find another job that doesn’t involve people asking for advice on gym equipment … aka a basic role of a gym trainer.

Negative experience: There's a mixed race guy with dreadlocks who tries to act tough who stares at girls in the gym very uncomfortable. Edit: the guy also appears to be a fitness trainer at the gym Anthony Ward.

Negative experience: Without exaggerating this gym the most disgusting changing rooms I've ever come across, the smell is absolutely atrocious, won't ever come back again

Positive experience: Limited equipment overall, considering the space it's not bad but it is cramped and hard to do a full workout at busier times.

Negative experience: I’ve been to this gym for about a year now, the changing rooms are smelly even with the refurbishment. Staff rarely smile or say hello.

Negative experience: I recently went to a spin class with my housemate. I honestly wanted to say that wasn't appreactive of Fares Mahieddine attitude to the class. The layout of his session was poorly made. It was a 30mins session. But I felt as if he was picking on me most of the time as I was pushed to my limits. I had to rest but was still cycling to keep my momentum. The fact that he kept coming up to me and being quite disingenuous about it. He also spent barely any time on the bike himself making it quite hard as a beginner to find my feet. I left the class feeling deflated and discouraged, Fares lowered my confidence. I've recently quit smoking so my lungs weren't up to par as I wanted to build on that. The fact I left the class and laughed about it was very disrespectful. Tbh I don't think he is in the right job. If you are a personal trainer you need to know how to work with people at different abilities. Be mindful. I'm not shocked that two other girls commented on their experiences with him. Compared to the other instructors. I was recommended to go to Sara Verna as her classes is actually planned, not forced on. Actually a sustainable session. UPDATE: I went to Sara Verna Cycle session, I actually lasted the whole session with her for 30mins with an actual plan to high and low intense workouts on the bike. To be fair it’s quite funny that I lasted 10 mins faris session as is his session was designed poorly there wasn’t any moment of rest. Shows how much can be done in a session. Many thanks to Sara Verna.

Negative experience: Same as any gym! But small! Oh and no spin bike by cardio areas!! Not good

Negative experience: Worst gym in the whole area. £40 a month for puregym and this gym’s standards are so bad. I have finally cancelled and joined a local gym which is cheaper and more quality. Don’t waste your time here

Positive experience: Great variety of machines and weights. Might feel a bit too crowded at times.

Negative experience: Worst gym I ever joined. Horrible cleaning conditions showers had mosquito inside and a horrible smell. Showers blocked and water from other peoples shower going in your shower side. Disgusting regret so much and they did not refund me after this terrible experience.

Fantastic experience: This is a smaller gym that boasts some of the friendliest staff I think I've ever seen. It can become overcrowded during the evenings, however.

Negative experience: Only one weightlifting platform that’s shared with the only heavy duty squat rack, everything split over three levels, impossible to find anything No towels as is available at other PureGyms at the same price level, rip off, will be using a different gym

Negative experience: Unfortunately this particular gym doesn't seem up to the standards of other gyms of the same brand I have been. The machines are warn out and clearly need maintenance (see photos), the main door has been cracked for months (now repaired with some tape), the vending machines are opinionated. The changing rooms and the area around them are also often smelly. The staff seems to be hovering around without achieving much. This is a message to management: please take a grip on the situation, at the moment the basics are not covered adequately, as a customer I feel I should get move value. Thanks

Negative experience: The changing room always smell and on the weights floor there is no ventilation whatsoever which makes it very hot and smelly. The dumbbells are never in their place so if you need a specific weight you might need to search throughout the whole gym sometimes

Negative experience: No AC works, entire gym sweaty humid and hot, impossible to breathe. To top it off, changing rooms have a looming smell from the bathrooms with a swarm of flies.

Negative experience: One of the worst pure gyms I’ve been especially considering the high monthly membership for this gym. There is poor ventilation, AC doesn’t work and now there is fly infestation in the changing rooms. Management needs to really listen to the feedback provided by the members and take action on it!

Positive experience: Very ample space but the barbell/free weights floor is poorly ventilated. We were only 4 people there and the room was boiling

Negative experience: Any 5 stars review most be fake,honestly? Instead of spending money on marketing, you should spend money on the condition of this gym. The male shower is not clean and with awful smell. Facility are not in good condition and always busy. It is one of the worst gym among all pure gym.

Negative experience: DO NOT BUY THE PURE GYM PADLOCK!!!!! NO HELP FROM PURE GYM MANAGEMENT. ALL VALUABLES REMOVED AND STOLEN FROM LOCKERS WITH PURE GYM LOCKS. I went to the gym late last night and had all my things removed and moved to the second section of the lockers and the lock was stolen. Many other gym goers had their wallets and valuables stolen. See images of all the lockers with pure gym locks opened. Buy a decent lock NOT A PURE GYM LOCK. I called the pure gym emergency number and they did nothing. By a 6-7mm shackle high security lock from Amazon.

Positive experience: Great machines and equipment. Sessions are good. Though expect to wait some time for them as some tend to like to use their mobile device rather then doing sets…

Negative experience: Hi , Personally I like the gym,but couple days before my I’d blocked, I couldn’t find any way to contact them still Iam paying for them which Iam not using.

Negative experience: ABSOLUTELY THE FILTHIEST, MOST DISGUSTING AND SMELLIEST GYM ON PLANET EARTH. I've used many gyms, most are generally clean, the main smell usually comes from smelly people who don't know what shower gel and anti perspirant are. However, this is the first time I've been in a gym where the gym smells worse than the SMELLIEST person. To make matters worse there is now a fly infestation. Mark my words I will be reporting this to the council. Pure gym you are a company who should have more concern for the condition of your product. This is absolutely unhealthy and unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: A great 24/7 gym. Im a 5am kinda guy so get to use all equipment I need. Well stocked, even has a hack squat machine ! Staff are friendly as well . Would recommend.

Negative experience: Been reporting nicely since beginning of winter that the showering experience on males changing room is not enjoyable at all. Heating system hasn’t been on at all at anytime and it’s freezing in there. When I reported it to staff it seem like they wanted to save the heating cost. But this made me write a review today, as the previous comet says. Walls full of flies in male changing rooms, it looks poor and gross. See on the pictures… (Heating on would make humidity disappear therefore no flies would be around)

Negative experience: Update: the middle stepper machine has been broken for several weeks possibly months. Still a filthy gym and lockers with pure gym locks get broken into now. I've never been in such a smelly and poorly ventilated gym, it's disgusting. Update: nothing was done to improve the condition of the gym, now there is a fly infestation! See images attached.

Fantastic experience: The staff at canary wharf pure gym are so helpful! Marina is amazing and her classes make you push yourself while having fun! Her classes have helped me stick to going to the gym! Wesley & Sara are also very helpful and have great classes. Im so glad the opening hours have gone back to 24hrs!!!

Negative experience: Used to be the perfect gym for me until they made the decision to change the opening times. Now it is no longer a 24 hour gym it is over crowded and the new opening times make it impossible to train in the evenings due to long waits for equipment. Will be cancelling my membership and going elsewhere.

Negative experience: If you finish work at normal time until your new closing time, it is impossible to train in the evening. Look at your stats, a gym that size with 150 people in means you can't do anything. PureGym Limehouse is in the wrong location otherwise I would have signed up there. Looking for another gym. Guessing I will get your standard response you have given all your other paying members?

Negative experience: Disgusting how you changed from 24hrs and using the same generic response. No it's not less busy until at least midnight so why not close it then if you have to! I don't see any discount offered either. Disgusting behaviour! Plus it's even more smelly in the gym now as it's so cramped. And still the toilets smell of sewage!!!

Negative experience: The gym has changed from 24/7 to closing at 10pm without further notice. The main reason why I joined Pure gym years ago was because of the flexibility and being able to go to the gym between 10pm to 12am. Given the location in Canary Wharf where a lot of professionals are based in I can't understand how Pure Gym think closing the gym at 10pm is suitable for the majority of its audience.

Negative experience: Ridiculous You are degrading Canary Wharf gym from 24/7 to daytime only and raising the membership cost. Whoever is the mastermind and decides these experiments does not care about members paying your bills and salaries of your workers and the ones are building your brand's culture. Everybody is feeling uncomfortable for this. What are you trying to achieve? ....destroying your brand?

Negative experience: Was a good gym up until they changed the opening times from 24/7 to 6am-10pm on weekdays and 8am-8pm on weekends. They have provided access to Limehouse however if I wanted to go to Limehouse I would have joined that site instead initially. If they are changing the hours they should reduce the membership price. The reasoning for closing the gym is because they noticed lower usage at night hours. However when I would attend at midnight there would be around 40 people at the site. That is still a high enough number to keep the gym open in my opinion. At least keep the gym open until 1am 7 days a week if you have to reduce hours! Now if I want to go to the gym there is over 100 people in the night hours and I have to wait for equipment making me question my membership.

Negative experience: Will be cancelling my membership due to the earlier closing hours. It’s pointless as I go to the gym between 9 pm to 11:30 pm. I joined Canary Wharf PureGym as it was convenient and 24 hours, and since it’s no longer 24 hours, I have no reason to continue.

Negative experience: Been a member here for 18 months and enjoyed it until this year. There's 90 people now in the gym, which is about four times as many as I'd see last year. Everyone's on top of each other and you're just waiting constantly. This must be down to the change of hours, which has meant everyone's crammed in at once because the gym for some reason is now shut a third of the time. They've also not dropped the price. Feel bad for the staff because they've no responsibility over this but they're taking the flak. Massively irritating that I have to change gyms from one so convenient because this one is now unusable.

Negative experience: Impossible to train now as from 6pm it is sooooooo busy until close at 10:00pm. Watching the app I went at 9pm as late as I could, hoping it would be quieter. But there was still 115 people in! So hard to train. Also, from 9:30pm you start to get chased out like rats. Limehouse is not convenient, hence why I signed up to Canary Wharf. Last week, I checked how busy the gym was when I left at 10:30pm during the week (before you started closing early) and you still had 40 people inside!! 40! The hours you have picked make no sense and does not work. Maybe there is no one in at 3am, but look at the data from 10-11pm. There is more than enough people inside to warrant keeping it open. Too hard now, I am cancelling my membership.

Negative experience: The gym has been very good for the last few years in the time that I've gone semi-regularly. However, due to the change in open hours recently it has been going downhill in convenience and expectations. I bought the off-peak membership hoping to attend the gym really early or really late, as I like to go to the gym when it's not peak hours and is convenient due to having to work in peak hours. I also tend to work out for just under two hours but with the time changes the only times I can go in are between 6am-3:30pm as I can't get a full workout in at 8:30pm as I would have to leave at 9:45pm. This only leaves me working out in the morning. But due to the time changes it has become more congested and so I can't really get a full workout in. It has now become unsatisfactory for me and I hope for the time to change back, or at least an extension in the time period, as the prices haven't changed at all and so it is pretty unfair considering it was advertised as 24 hours for the price that it was. The addition of the access to the Limehouse location after these hours doesn't really help as the only reason I chose puregym canary wharf initially was the convenience of location, price and timing. Otherwise I would've chosen the off peak hours for the Limehouse puregym as it is cheaper and is 24 hours.

Negative experience: Disapponited as I joined this gym for the 24 hour access and it being close too work, Limehouse is no good to me as I can't get to it, I don't see how you can still charge such expensive rates

Negative experience: I only joined to be able to come at 5am and because its the closest from my job. They say I have access to the limehouse one, however why the hell do I want to pay a higher membership to access a cheaper gym? Cancelling rn. Besides those are the opening hours of virgin and third space, that I do understand given they are health clubs. Puregym is a low cost gym generally unstaffed. The only thing going for you is the 24h

Negative experience: Whole point of using this gym for me was that it's 24/7 open. Not anymore. Extremely disappointed like everyone else who goes between 10pm-6am times. People have different lifestyles, work schedules etc, not everyone can go during normal hours.Why can limehouse be 24/7 but not this one? From what I see as well, you are unable to give a logical or reasonable response. Like I said, a great disappointment as it was my favorite gym.

Negative experience: Recently received an email saying that the gym will no longer be open for 24 hours, instead this will close at 10pm on weekdays and 8pm on weekends. They’ve given the choice for members to use the Limehouse puregym but fail to realise that many people attend this gym because of the convenient location. It’s very disappointing to see this happen and this will only change when they realise that the number of members will be decreasing very quickly. Recently, they have given a response saying that the reason behind this is because it is not as busy after 10pm which is why they have made this choice. This is overlooking the these groups of people who attend the gym after these hours but at the same time say that they value their members. Furthermore, the price of the membership hasn’t decreased which does not make any sense what so ever. Please do not give a generic response as no response will be better than this.

Positive experience: Pretty good quality overall. Machines are working fine and there's usually enough space or free weights/machines to exercise.

Negative experience: I was previously content with my membership at this gym however, they have recently announced that they will no longer be open 24 hours and instead will close at 10pm on weekdays and 8pm on weekends. This is very frustrating as they have not even provided any reasoning behind this decision and the main selling point for a large amount of people is the 24 hour access. Despite this, the 24 hour access is still being promoted on their website which is extremely misleading for any people interested in joining as this is clearly no longer the case. Moreover, the monthly cost is still expected to remain the same, which fundamentally makes no sense from a consumer's perspective. I'm very disappointed with this decision and it will leave many members with no choice but to look elsewhere.

Positive experience: Update: drain flies finally reduced, few left but manageable. When I was made aware that this gym became 24 hours again Immediately came back but unfortunately I came back to a locker room INFESTED when I mean infested, you have drainflies in huge groups all around the walls,sinks Heck they aren't afraid to fly on you when your changing at a distance, it's so infested I'm pretty sure they are beginning to escape into the actual gym.

Positive experience: *Update* Unfortunately I'm having to downgrade this gym as Pure has recently cut the opening hours so that the gym opens from 6am week days and 8am at weekends, without providing a rationale to members. As someone who was getting to the canary wharf Pure gym before those times to fit training around work commitments, this change has left this gym much less convenient. The group of people who used to train before 6am were dedicated, tidy and not poor 'customers' so this change doesn't seem to make sense. Otherwise the gym remains a very good venue. Pure Gym at Canary Wharf is the best mainstream commercial gym I've been a member of in the last 20 or so years. It has plenty of each type of equipment and lots of spaces where you can do cardio activities. It's clean and roomy, and the temperature is nice. The location is excellent and the staff helpful. The only things that get a negative from me are that sometimes the vending machines stop recognising bank cards so you can't grab the snack or drink you were after, and the music is bad and too loud, so do bring earphones. I use the mobile app to see how many people are there and tend to arrive about 5.45am to miss the busier times.

Negative experience: Install a properly wide and strong dip bar on the ground floor. The current one is too crude, too narrow, and the protruding parts get in the way of the shoulders. More than 10 members always complain about this, but no improvement has been made for a long time, and Canary Wharf's youth (prospective members) who like sports do not want to register.

Fantastic experience: The gym is well maintained, there’s enough equipment and space for different types of workouts. The staff i interacted with were nice

Positive experience: Morning until night always busy, it looks like they oversold the memberships. Only reasonable slot seems to be 15-17 if you manage to skip some meetings. Very frustrating when literally every bench and machine is occupied and you circle around wasting time and waiting for anything to be free. From plus side there is a lot of equipment.

Positive experience: This gym needs a refurb. It has all the equi6 you might need, but some it is quite old. Often gets busy mid day. But its great that it's open 24/7

Fantastic experience: Great gym, I don't like personally the area whe this gym is but is a great place to training and has all what you need in one place, a big studio, stretch area, functional area, fw area cardio area yanga water and more. If you need help managers are very friendly and experienced. I hope seyou arround

Positive experience: Great set of equipment and lots of variety. But can benefit from regular maintenance and lubrications. Also men toilet has not been well maintained for some time. The smell is very bad, and you usually see dead insects.

Negative experience: A little cramp as compared to other PureGyms in London, e.g. benches are close to one another. UPDATE: no longer 24 hours so im dropping my rating.

Positive experience: 5 star for equipment and space but toilet stink badly. it's not the management but the sewage system. I have not tried the classes but they have a wide range of equipments.

Positive experience: I have only been going to this branch since about May the equipment and layout is great. However I would not recommend as a place to have a post workout shower as there is an awful smell in the mens changing room and of the 8 showers only 3 have worked since I joined.

Negative experience: Good gym but the male changing room is really terrible regarding the smell, i believe is cuz of drainage and not enough ventilation.. anyway, this issue has to be raised to the top before becomes a health issue

Negative experience: Good range equipment but I’ve never been more sweaty in a gym before - the air con definitely needs an upgrade - not sure it was even on upstairs or in the basement. Talking of the basement free weights area - I’ve never known a smell so bad. No airflow meant it just lingered; and there was no one culprit. At the very least suggest a plug in air freshener to give us the placebo effect :D

Negative experience: It is ok budget gym but very crowded. It also has bad smells both in the locker room and in the gym. The ventilation or air conditioning doesnt seem to work very well.

Negative experience: Possibly the worst Pure Gym in London. Don’t want to tar all the staff with the same brush, but there’s a few staff who are very unhelpful and just hang out on their phones and leaning and sitting on machines all day. Not a great deal of good interactions. It’s also just very poorly kept. For its location, you should expect better.

Negative experience: Good gym, unless you have to use the change rooms. Positive: They make it easy to visit and charge reasonable short term rates. Everything is done online and it’s quick. I use the gym only when in Canary Wharf for work. The gym floor is spacious and has good equipment. Negative: The most filthy gym change room I’ve experienced. It smells like a No.2, except in the shower stalls, where the intense smell of No.1 miraculously overpowers the No.2 smell. You actually feel more dirty after a shower here. This time round they put up a sign acknowledging it, however it’s been like this for at least 1 year.

Positive experience: I don’t ever write reviews but I only just started using this gym and I am already annoyed. The equipment is generally okay - missing resistance bands tho. The gym is always busy even on Sunday you’ll struggle to get on the equipment. The air con in free weights area is never on and the dumbbells are never in correct order. Personal trainers could devote 5 min. a day to do that.

Positive experience: I use two PureGym branches, this one is smaller but quite well equipped. But the main thing that stands out about this gym is the male toilets that stink disgustingly every single time. I’ve been coming here for several months and no change, it’s really bad. The staff is not very friendly either. The last time I asked a very quick question I got bad looks as he was in a PT session but then how are you supposed to get your question answered?

Negative experience: Am a regular at this gym but the men's changing room has been a disaster for the past 3 months or so. They really should get it fixed fully so that issue doesn't keep re-occuring.

Negative experience: This PureGym needs to be investigated by environmental health and shut down. The smell of the mens changing room is rancid, they’ve closed twice before due to a sewage issue but clearly it is a deep rooted issue. Flies cover the walls, dirty sewage water coming up from the floors. This is the most expensive tier of PureGym and is meant to their top tier. Far from it. Seriously, this place needs to be closed down. Looking toward to them responding telling me to speak to the manager - who knows of the issues and does nothing. Since writing this, the roof is now leaking in several places with buckets placed around the gym. The mens changing room is now closed, and I was told to get changed in the disabled toilet and carry my stuff around with me. This gym is an accident waiting to happen.

Negative experience: Compared to other PureGym Branches, Canary Wharf Branch is the worse, as the second most expensive branch, one would expect good equipment, however it is extremely poorly, and higher management should look into changing the equipment to match other branches, and make it better. Poor equipment. Additionally, it is not as clean as seen in pictures, the changing rooms, shower, toilets are the worst. So bad that it is not safe to use for health reasons, and it feels suffocating. Furthermore, the water from the fountain had a strange taste, which definitely coming from and old pipe line which must be filthy. It is important that the Management acknowledge it, they say they are aware, but nothing is ever done, until higher management paid a visit and closed the gym to have a few issues fixed, but that’s not all. The manager doesn’t do much, and always in the office, hardly showing up on the floor, and certainly not as friendly as one would think. Further training to staff members must be arranged, and make a sudden change, as simple As that. In brief, regardless of the location, charging a higher fee and after the above mentioned, I am Not expecting a response to my review to email anyone, and there is no phone number to contact higher management. I expect higher management to read this review and step in ASAP, because I am certain they are not aware of the previous, and probably they are told it is all rainbow and sunshine, which is not the case.

Positive experience: It’s a PureGym - a relatively small and expensive one at that - but in a great location and generally clean and good selection of equipment.

Negative experience: I don’t expect to come to a gym and to be followed around by a Pervy member of staff. Every single room I went in to avoid him he would instantly follow me and just stand there and stare. It made me feel so uncomfortable and I couldn’t even focus on my training and spent most of the time trying to avoid him and go from room to room out of feeling so awkward. He continued to follow me around for at least an hour or so.

Negative experience: Big fan of puregym and their equipment and branch variety. This branch though I've never really liked. Have been to dozens of gyms throughout my life so I know this phenomenon pretty much happens in every gym. But in this one specifically I almost always happen to come across one of those muscle bound pumped up narcissists who thinks they own the gym and can hold onto equipment for ages and when you ask if you can do a set while they check their phones they puff up their Chests and tell you to wait till they're finished.

Fantastic experience: Clean and spacious gym, loads of equipment and training machines, peak times are usually very busy but off peak is a perfect time of visit if it works around your schedule, always staff around is any assistance is needed.

Negative experience: Editing my review as I can’t quite believe the email I’ve received with little to no transparency or context from PureGym. On the 16th of Jan they will now be opening from Mon-Fri 6am-10pm and Saturdays and Sundays 8am-8pm but are advising customers to make use of Limehouse for 24/7 access. How does one of the second most expensive PureGyms in London come to that decision and not even offer a price reduction to current members? 6pm-9pm is already a peak period with long waits for machines. Along with 7am-9am. There is something fundamentally wrong with how this branch has been managed overall and PureGyms general treatment of its members considering the monthly membership costs.

Fantastic experience: Good gym, and great staff. Definitely recommend Ryan, if you need a personal trainer. He's fantastic!

Positive experience: I had the best boatcamp class with Thomas Mallia yesterday. It was very energetic and fun. I enjoyed every bit of it and want to appreciate his professionalism throughout.

Positive experience: That feeling you get when after 1.5 years of plus membership you want try a new branch and you're told that you cannot: it's not for your (lower) level . So after Commuting to get to it, I am facing the closed door and the patronising staff member telling me that because my home branch has a lower monthly subscription (by .. £3?) I am not allowed in. (Actually joining my branch is more expensive on their website). Puregym, what the hell? Just let a dude visit a different 'more expensive' branch once in a while. What is that '200+ gyms available' statement about then?

Positive experience: All round good gym, great atmosphere and some amazing and helpful staff too. Staff member Lucy Carpenter always happy and very welcoming. All round pleasant experience.
