Negative experience: Guy called Ryan on reception was exceptionally rude, we hadn't visited this leisure centre before. We parked at the back, followed the entrance directions which took us around the back. We walked to reception from that path, mentioned to the lovely Ryan how we'd like to pay for a swim day pass, responding with a wait you entered through the back? DONT DO THAT AGAIN. With such attitude! We explained that we followed your signs but couldn't seem to comprehend much at all. Then we clearly had one toddler, asked for one adult and one toddler but charged for two toddlers and when asking for a refund he said it will take 6 weeks so you're best off having credit

Positive experience: I can't say I dislike attending here as my main gym, however, there are plenty of issues that don't really seem to be getting resolved: 0 heating in male changing rooms, I don't want to be searing hot, but I also don't want to be freezing before starting my workouts. This includes the taps and showers, both of which are ice-cold. Some of the lockers- specifically on the left wall when entering male changing rooms; are dirty and have been in that state for around 1 year. As far as the gym goes, there is a lack of equipment and lots of the existing equipment is showing its age (incline benches are peeling for example). It would be nice for the gym to be bigger if possible in order for there to be more squat racks, benches and cables to be fitted as it's quite common for them to all be taken for long periods, and this is at the less busy times. Additionally, the free weight area in general is quite cramped and it can feel awkward to use the inclines with people having to walk 1-2 feet in front of you to get new dumbbells. There used to be a plethora of plates for the squat rack and bench, but suddenly half of them have vanished, leading to people poaching plates from the squat rack for bench and vice-versa; for example, there are only a few 10kg plates left, and the ones that are left have torn plastic exposing the iron on the inside. Besides that the gym has a fine selection of cardio equipment and various weight machines, although I do wish there were more machines, like a pec-deck or calf raise machine. Staff are friendly, and helpful when I've had queries; never had a bad experience with them personally.

Negative experience: I use this centre several times a week. It needs a total refurbishment as it’s dated and poorly managed. This morning after my swim I went to shower and found there was no hot water. I reported this to reception and was told “yes we know about it, it’s going to be sorted” No apology, no explanation basic poor customer service. The gym has at my last count got 8 broken machines. Whilst I welcome the fact that students from the college use the gym there should be a requirement that they wear gym clothing and footwear. On several occasions I’ve seen them in normal shoes and jeans or trousers. A good leisure centre is a really important part of any town so please Fusion invest some funds in staff training and upgrading the centre

Positive experience: Personally the whole place could do with a bit more investment. The changing rooms are cold and dated, damaged tiles had brown parcel tape securing them to the wall. There were 3 showers now there are 2, 1 which was warm for the best part of 2 minutes and the 2nd was completely cold. Waiting for the pool to open felt like we were in prison waiting for the guard to open a metal gate amd when we got in the pool the atmosphere felt dark and uninviting. The water wasn't exactly heated either. I really think they could do more to tart the place up. Now onto my main concern, the charge for am adult and 1 toddler under the age of 2 is £7.50, not a major expense however when you consider I wasn't even in the pool for less than 20 minutes due to my daughter being scared of water it becomes alot more expensive. Personally I think they should introduce a toddler group, or something along those lines in order to help parents get their children used to water without it being such a waste of money. I will attend again, but I do think more can be done to make the experience better for the customer. (Turn some lights on, or the heating wouldn't go amiss)

Negative experience: The pool is ok, a bit cold imo. Half the showers are broken and there doesn’t seem to be any heating in the changing rooms so at the end of a swim you have to stand in line shivering for a shower. They should really be discounting the price of a swim until this is fixed as the pool is not cheap anyway. The staff are nice though!

Positive experience: Ok for a small gym. Treadmills, bikes the normal fitness machines. Good for anyone that is not too into weight training

Negative experience: This gym is poorly equipped and has had multiple leaks since my time being there. It's not one of those gym in which your feel intimidated either, mainly due to the fact it's poorly equipped

Negative experience: The pool has plasters and matted hair few scabs floating around lifeguards just chilling on their phone not even paying attention the soft play dirty as hell the windows are black the soft play itself has mouldy and green food in it a gross things it looks like the last time is being cleaned was 30 years ago do anything good here is the badminton courts and the squash courts but the best things on the more expensive also there's a bouncy castle there that really killed me my mum and my younger brother went off to the toilet I stayed in the hall I'd like 2 minutes later the bouncy castle is deflated if I was in there it was a crush me and I would have died if I could I would rate this place is 0 star do not come here I swear to not the worst place

Positive experience: On using the pool, it’s fine if you can find a quiet session. Changing rooms and showers OK but a bit dated. However for the past 3 weeks, my wife and I have streaming runny noses, presumably from pool chemicals, for around 3 days after swimming despite trying lots of ‘remedies’.

Negative experience: I can never seem to get through to anyone when I call. Much rather a truthful answer than “we are busy on other calls “ Either don’t have a phone number to call at all, or have someone answer it.

Fantastic experience: My first visit. Very impressed and we were shown around by a very helpful employee.

Negative experience: Really dissapointed with this sports centre. Initially, I thought the low prices reflected the cheap and cheerful standard of the gym, however a drastic price increase came without any warning. Upon requesting a refund, as per the 'direct debit guarentee' I am still waiting a month later. Atrocious customer service and impossible to speak with someone able to help resolve the situation. Unfortunately, it is over priced, poorly staffed and does not value customer satisfaction.

Positive experience: Opening times not as described on their site. I have adjusted the costing so they are accurate. If you are joining this gym on the premise thay they are open at 6.30am daily then look elsewhere. It's due to staffing apparently and should be temporary (though has been this way for 3+ months). Gym itself is fine but as well equipped as others locally.

Positive experience: We only used the soft play area. It's got a reasonable amount of things to do and the price is fair. Staff are friendly. The cafe wasn't open so we brought our own food which was acceptable. My grandson who is 3 enjoyed it all and it wasn't too busy which is good when you want to play on everything. If it was busy I would say space would be cramped. It was clean and tidy.

Positive experience: Staff are always friendly and helpful but the squash courts need some repairs and the lighting is not all working. Also, the changing rooms, esp the showers, need a deep clean. Changing room and shower temperatures are also a bit hit and miss. Have reported these issues on several occasions now.

Negative experience: Every time I've been all three vending machines here are either lacking stock or out of order. I paid for a hot chocolate and a cup of coffee at 1.20p each and what I got was a cup of hot water. At least this time the changing rooms don't smell like a public toilet.

Negative experience: Needs another 2million spent on it

Positive experience: Go swimming here occasionally with my granddaughter. It’s tidy enough the pools are ok. It’s very old the pools are the same as they were when I was a child swimming. For the price I’d expect better facilities the toilets are a bit grubby and always a bit grim smelling and they don’t feel clean. But as a town Frome is lucky to have a facility like this. It can be very difficult to get through to book

Fantastic experience: The best pool in the area. Good cool water temperature, and clean. Changing rooms clean, showers good, though a little too hot but that's personal choice. I only use the pool so can't comment on other facilities.

Negative experience: Staff nice but cleanliness needs to be improved. Toilets were dirty when I visited 9/2023

Fantastic experience: Good facilities. Showers are hot, tried to adjust to a cooler water but had no luck! After playing hockey, I was so hot and going to the changing room, it's like a sauna ! Even after shower, I was still hot and stinky, and clothes stuck to me! Really need a fan of some sort during the hot weather.

Negative experience: Squash courts in terrible condition plaster falling off walls and only half the lights working.

Fantastic experience: Facilities are great and the staff are helpful and friendly.

Positive experience: Pool could do with a heater in it but not too bad if you keep moving

Fantastic experience: I try and swim every day here, the staff are so lovely and friendly and the pool is great. Its 25m and well maintained.

Negative experience: Terrible experience, online booking system is complicated and doesn’t work. Called 3 different times and there was no answer. Poor management. Ended up driving 45 minutes to find that they tend out all the courts every weekend, for birthdays so even though we booked we were told we couldn’t play. Didn’t get a refund, but got a coupon.

Negative experience: A great disappointment went to see my grandchildren swim and the pool was shut again. Annoying as I travelled 112 miles to see this happen.

Negative experience: No clean ... Toilets, floor in the studio dirty!!!

Negative experience: The service was awful and the manager was rude and unhelpful, the pool was also filthy.

Negative experience: DONT PAY FOR A SUBSCRIPTION HERE. I've tried cancelling mine twice and they're still charging me... Edit: They also never pick up the phone

Positive experience: Changing rooms need cleaning more thoroughly, but the staff are friendly and well-equipped gym with squat rack and free-weights area.

Positive experience: Popped in to enquire about temperature of pool and classes for differently able.... staff were very friendly and helpful

Positive experience: Only use it for swimming lessons for the kids but it's always great, they love their lessons at all ages and think it's reasonably priced too.

Negative experience: Gone downhill since COVID-19. Not enough lane swimming sessions, price for swim has doubled, showers either don't work or temperature is not consistent. Staff still pleasant though. Needs investment. edit: Price for swim has come down slightly, but the centre now doesn't open at 6am, so even less lane swimming available

Positive experience: Went swimming and my little boy had lots of fun, kids pool was warm and there was a little slide also

Positive experience: It's local and can provide swimming lessons for my child but the changing rooms regularly smell of urine, the showers are mostly broken and it just feels a bit grubby.

Fantastic experience: Love the booking system. Its easy to book and the equipment is always available to use because there is less people allowed in at a time. The gym is very clean and staff is always so friendly and helpful.

Positive experience: Love going to Astro with my mate however the price has went up and you can’t pay cashless anymore so we don’t really go so if they want more money make it cheaper and so you can pay with cash

Positive experience: If you're wanting to lose weight, then this is the perfect place for you to come. There are so many fitness machines that I can't figure out what all of them do! As well as this, there are squash courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, hockey, netball, climbing walls, two swimming pools (one big, one small), a soft play area and out the back is a 3g pitch. From upstairs you can watch most of the courts. There is also a café upstairs and snacks, cold drinks and hot drinks vending machines downstairs.

Negative experience: Amazing to me that Frome doesn't have a better facility than this. It's expensive too!

Positive experience: Really mixed bag! The Spinning lessons and the gym are clean and very well looked after, the dry changing rooms are great, however the swimming pool and the changing rooms are outdated. This is not the companies fault, but parents of kids seem to completely ignore the fact they need shoe covers so the floor is usually muddy. I think fusions main focus is the gym and therefore they don't really worry too much about their pool. Great Gym, not so great pool.

Negative experience: This review is based off my experiences 6 months or so ago so it may have changed. Membership is expensive. Showers were constantly broken making it almost impossible to train in the mornings before work, staff didn't seem to have a clue when it would be fixed, kept getting fed generic excuses. Much better value gyms around Frome.

Positive experience: Like taking my kids swimming here

Fantastic experience: Go to soft play here with my son he loves it, it appears cleaner than most and is a great place for us both to enjoy.

Negative experience: Nice pool but stage 3 swimming lessons are awful. To many kids for one teacher, class always starts late, teacher has no idea how to talk to children therefore has no control, unable to cancel lessons at site-need to do via internet, rude, non apologetic answer from ‘admin team’ and NOONE ANSWERS THE PHONE!!!

Positive experience: We had a lovely swim here. Not too crowded and not as freezing in the changing rooms as last time we visited !!

Positive experience: Swimming pool is ok, inflatable sessions are good but you aren't allowed deep in the pool for it, overall it's ok.

Fantastic experience: Great staff and a range of fabulous classes and well stocked gym.

Fantastic experience: A good sports centre with a range of activities to suit most tastes. There is also One 20m pool and one small learning pool.

Fantastic experience: Have Family Membership but have been a membership for a year. It was bit slow to start but with support and more people joining it will become a very active sports center. Any session with Alice is great highly recommend her. I know she does Pilates and Spinning i am sure a few other classes. Swimming lessons free for children with family membership is a big bonus.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, for a fair price. There are swimming pools, several badminton and squash courts, a well fitted gym, and lots of different exercise classes, which can all be used as part of the subscription for no extra cost. I especially like that there's no minimum contract, and you can cancel with 4 weeks notice anytime.

Positive experience: It needs a refurb in the pool area missed last time round
