Fantastic experience: I use the leisure facilities at the Glasgow Village Gym daily . The staff are always welcoming and friendly so much so I have recommended the pool to friends . Gemma, Beth and Azra are staff members I see regularly and have got to know . It makes the visit all the better having staff who know and greet you .
Negative experience: Alright apart from the towel thieves. 5 towels lost in as many months, should be a listed cost ♂️

Negative experience: The gym is overcrowded and the wait times for machines makes your workout slow pace, the sauna and stream rooms are unhygienic, there is very little care to improve with the facilities for a gym charging 50 pound a month standard fee. You’re locked into a 4 month signup so tread carefully deciding if this is the gym for you it’s a commitment. Cheaper Closer alternatives: -Puregym; Bath Street/Giffnock/Shawlands/ Paisley -JD sports; Renfrew/Marhyhill/ Southside -Strathclyde gym facilities (sauna & steam)

Fantastic experience: My partner and i went there for an evening swim and used the pool and had some foods and drinks we really enjoyed our day just didn’t know the restaurant will close early so we couldn’t get any food after our swim .

Negative experience: My wife and I signed up for Village Gym in Glasgow on December 28th. We were attended by a very friendly young man who showed us the facilities and informed us that we had 10 days of trial to cancel if we didn’t want to continue. On the same day, I mentioned that I had read many reviews criticizing the gym’s cleanliness and hygiene. The young man explained that cleaning is done at specific times but that they can't cover the entire time the gym is open. When the cleaning staff leaves, gym staff are responsible for cleaning. Later that day, my wife visited the gym for the first time and experienced firsthand that cleanliness was a major issue. She entered the sauna and found the smell of urine so overwhelming that it was impossible to stay in there. She complained to the pool supervisor, who responded that the sauna is cleaned regularly. However, he never checked the strong urine smell, nor did he send anyone to clean or address the issue himself. On the morning of December 30th, my wife went back with me for the first time. That same morning, we both decided not to return. Due to the New Year holiday, we couldn’t cancel sooner, but today, January 2nd, 2025, I went to cancel our subscriptions. At the reception, I mentioned I was there to cancel, and a young lady told me I could do it online. I asked how the refund process would work, and she couldn’t answer my question. She told me to wait for someone to assist me. After about 10 minutes, a young woman (who I assume was the manager, as she didn’t introduce herself) came and told me that because a week had passed since we joined, I would be charged £15 and my wife £15 for that week. I said I didn’t understand why I should pay for a week when I was informed we had 10 days of trial without charge. She didn’t ask why we were canceling our membership so soon, which shows she didn’t try to understand or address our concerns. It became clear that the customer service, along with the cleanliness, leaves much to be desired at this gym. Furthermore, that STRONG URINE SMELL IN THE SAUNA completely put an end to any consideration of coming back. I hope this feedback helps open the eyes of those who are considering joining this gym. Cleanliness and hygiene are essential, especially after the recent pandemic. Our rating for VILLAGE GYM GLASGOW is ZERO.

Negative experience: Do not join unless you want membership for LIFE! Even if you give appropriate notice to cancel membership, they will come up with any excuse not to accept and then send debt collectors after you. Like I said, STAY away. Pool closed regularly too!

Negative experience: Avoid at all costs! I have been a member of this gym over 6 years and have watched it gradually deteriorate over time. Was a brilliant gym a number of years ago but this is no longer the case. Class timetables change constantly. Classes themselves no longer anywhere near the quality they were a number of years ago. Showers cold, dirty and changing rooms constantly unclean. I moved out of the area at the end of June and applied to cancel membership online. Despite T&Cs outlining having to give one months notice they are looking for me to pay for 3 despite providing evidence of new address (40 mins away) and refusing to cancel this. Clearly desperate to make it as difficult as possible for people to leave given the ongoing deterioration in the quality of the gym. Would save your money and go elsewhere. A far cry from the luxury gym they are trying to portray.

Negative experience: DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE! Told us we can cancel membership any time as I was waiting on an operation and could only use for 2 months and they signed us upto 12 months. When we told the manager this he refused to help and sent us straight to a debt collectors. Jaquzzi was broke before we even got the membership and sauna was full of water.

Fantastic experience: Fresh new shower cubicles with piping hot water Roasting steam room and nice hot sauna (re-fitting on the horizon) Lovely drinking water dispenser (don’t bother clutching your own plastic bottle filled with water) New jacuzzi for a maximum of 6 users on an automatic cycle of ten minutes pumping and four cleaning Lane swimming and general area in a 20 metre pool with constant cleanliness checking Poolside loungers Family changing area as well as male and female Friendly approachable staff on hand plus personal training

Fantastic experience: I'm loving the gym from using the cardio equipment to the weights machines. My favourite thing is after workouts heading for a swim, sauna, steam and jacuzzi to relax the muscles and unwind. They also have a great variety of classes which I will get to eventually. What's not to love about the 25% off food and drink in the bar.

Positive experience: Inconsistent Jacuzzi opening/closing timings- being a member of village since August of last year & being a extremely busy business owner My recent encounters at Village Gym have left me utterly dissatisfied, primarily due to their inconsistent use of the jacuzzi and the palpable low morale among the staff. It's disheartening to witness such mismanagement in what should be a place of relaxation and wellness.Firstly, the repeated instances of the jacuzzi being turned off without warning or explanation are deeply frustrating. As a paying member, one expects access to all amenities, yet Village Gym seems to disregard this basic expectation. Whether it's due to maintenance issues or negligence, the lack of transparency and communication regarding the jacuzzi's status is unacceptable. it's clear that there's a systemic issue affecting employee satisfaction. This not only reflects poorly on the management but also detracts from the overall experience for members like myself.Overall, Village Gym's failure to maintain consistent jacuzzi access & other issues highlights a severe lack of commitment to customer satisfaction. For those seeking a positive and reliable gym experience, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere until Village Gym addresses these fundamental issues.

Negative experience: A stuff member come out and threaten my friend at the car park and being very rude and there were few witnesses his name is aiden apparently he was standing up for her other friend all he asked was to get his card for he paid for earlier on 2.50 but she never gave it and when he asked she said u can cancel your membership .

Negative experience: Needs more accessible/ family changing rooms. We were unable to use the family changing room as a wheelchair user was using it meaning I had nowhere safe to change myself and my baby.

Negative experience: This Gym was brilliant for years, however past couple of years it has been going downhill very quickly with prices going through the roof, even though the Jacuzzi has been broken for 6months, the steam room and sauna being off and on randomly, showers were appalling untill they recently got refurbished but not to a good degree, changing rooms are mostly very dirty and I only go maybe 2 or 3 times a week, last night I walked in and walked right out it was horrible. Management is awful and when you complain nothing ever gets done about it. Guys there should be a standard in which the gym equipment, facilities and changing area's should be kept for the price you're charging. It's not very hard to work out. Am really upset that I have to write this review but things need to get sorted ASAP.

Positive experience: Fine enough gym but jacuzzi broken whole month at least and having to empty lockers everyday is VERY annoying! Plenty space for additional lockers for members to use and only empty once a quarter or so.

Negative experience: The gym has some decent equipment and the staff are generally friendly enough. The gym is completely overcrowded and lacks basic facilities like decent running water. Many of the amenities are damaged e.g hot tub. The free weights area has some of the worst gym etiquette I’ve experienced with barbells constantly left loaded, on top of that they demand a 3 month warning if your planning to cancel, presumably this is because management knows the gym is poorly ran and people won’t stay long. Absolutely wouldn’t recommend.

Negative experience: I am very dissatisfied with village gym, for many reasons: Firstly, the water fountains upstairs does not work. If you forget your bottle you need to go downstairs to the changing room/bathroom to have some water. 2nd, the jacuzzi is broken since September last year if I am not mistaken the month. I asked when it was going to be fixed and the answer I got was “soon”. How long is soon? Also there one or two exercises machine out of order for a while now. 3rd, the steam room most of the days stinks I think that should be cleaned at least 3x times a day. I never got an email from the gym apologising for the inconvenience nor a discount on the membership given the fact some of the amenities listed isnt available. Again I am very dissatisfied and disappointed. I hope these issues are addressed soon otherwise I will consider moving to a different gym!

Negative experience: I went in person to talk about a membership and talked to some very friendly employees who ran me through the different membership prices per month. Had a good 10 minute chat about memberships and then signed up. However I've just found out that my membership is locked in for a full year despite this never having been mentioned during the in depth chat I had at the start. Yes, I should have read the T&C's and read the emails I got carefully but I didn't think to do so because I trusted the employees as they seemed competent and friendly. Basically, will completely mislead you for a sale. So beware

Negative experience: I signed up for a membership at the Village Gym earlier this year, but have had an extremely frustrating experience trying to cancel when I moved away from the area. I followed the proper cancellation procedure by notifying the front desk staff twice within the 90 day termination policy. Despite multiple cancellation requests, I never received confirmation that my membership was actually cancelled. Following up with the customer service email, I was told I was no longer a member. Two months after moving away, I was charged again by the gym. When I contacted them, they claimed I was still a member, and their previous email was referring to 'my old membership' (this is despite explicitly telling them the membership details) and not the one I had explicitly asked to cancel three separate times. The gym continued to pursue me for additional payment even though I had honoured their cancellation terms. Unfortunately, the poor customer service and difficult cancellation process have soured what was initially a positive experience with the Village Gym. The facilities themselves are nice, but the staff seem unable to handle membership cancellations properly. I would not recommend joining this gym if there's any chance you may need to cancel your membership in the future. Despite multiple attempts on my end to cancel appropriately, I was ignored and still charged improperly. This has caused me nothing but trouble and hassle. I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service and cancellation process at the Village Gym. I would recommend finding a gym with more responsive and organised management.

Negative experience: Management is horrible and nasty in there (Neil)! Facilities are constantly closed, the pool and hot tub are filthy, lots of equipment is often broken. The club is unreachable by phone to check if anything has finally opened, and when you get there it turns out you came for nothing and can't use what you wanted to use. All they care about is getting new memberships! Jacuzzi has now been off for about 8 weeks. I also live about 30 mins away from the village and i came into the gym last week and i was told it was shut the gym and pool as they had short staff. There is ALWAYS something wrong in there. Don't recommend this place! Also the changing room is filthy, it’s disgusting Neil refuses to clean the changing room.

Negative experience: This gym is a scam tbh. 90 day cancellation period. So expect to pay 3 months over when you want to leave. Most things are broken. Treadmill stopped mid run a few times and almost sent me flying. Join a pure gym or even Nuffield. Far superior to the Village gym scam

Negative experience: Been a member of this gym for years. However, lately the place has been going downhill. Water fountains not working, body composition machine broken twice in the last few months, only half the showers are working, changing rooms are pretty dirty usually too. It's not a cheap gym so all of these problems should not exist.

Negative experience: I've been a member for about a year or so and it's starting to remind me of when I was a member at the Glasgow club public gyms.. and also reminds me when and why I decided to join a more expensive private gym. The changing rooms are filthy. I had to call a manager through last week as I briefly stepped the floor to step on a massive long toenail. Ffs.. boke! There were plasters, empty bottles and loads of soaked through blue roll. Probably other members had tried to dry the floor which is always insanely wet. Maybe this reflects on the non-existant cleaning staff or the very young clientele who probably get their mums to clean up after them. Every shower cubicle is filled with empty bottles, plasters and general detritus. Seems like it's never cleaned. I use flip flops every visit now because the same plasters lie on the floor for days. The changing rooms are always crowded too. It feels like someone is always right next to you so you have to shuffle up and move your stuff so they can use the wee benches. I do like the jacuzzi and steam room/sauna, it's just a shame I have to use the minging changing rooms. Private gym prices for public gym standards. Just join glasgow club..

Fantastic experience: I've been in many swimming pools across England and Scotland, but this is the first one where they not only made the rules but also they keep them alive. Thanks to this, that place is very clean, and you can feel comfortable about hygiene. Negative experience: I recently joined this gym with high expectations, but unfortunately, it has been disappointing. During peak times, there are long queues for machines, and the water fountains don't work. The men's changing rooms are filthy, indicating a possible staff reduction. Even the scales for weighing yourself are broken and unclean. Moreover, the weekend deals attract a crowd, making the sauna and steam room overcrowded. I would caution others to avoid making the same mistake and hope for better management to improve the gym's potential.

Negative experience: Truly awful experience using the village gym and hotel. I took out membership in summer last year after being given a hastily organised tour I had booked in advance, during which I was barely shown anything but was pressure sold into taking out membership and it was the only nearby gym so I thought it couldn't be that bad (by the way, they state on their website that the buy you a Starbucks at the end of your tour, but this is not true). I then booked an induction which was rescheduled several times as a result of staff leaving the business and was late being able to use my membership properly as a result of it. After going to the gym and attempting to use a few of the other benefits some time later it became quickly apparent that I had been told a lot of lies by the "tour guide" who had conveniently but unsurprisingly left the business. You do not receive any discount at Starbucks in the lobby against what I was told, and although you do get 25% off in the village pub and grill, it is insanely overpriced and the service is atrocious. I visited multiple times throughout my membership expecting that the service would improve but the staff there seem to have no clue. I was also told during my tour that I could have food to take out as well at the 25% off price but when I tried to do this using the village app (which gave me an option to order to take out) I was told that that was "illegal" by the guy managing the pub and grill that night. He agreed the app was misleading and took my details informing me someone would get in touch to arrange a refund but of course no one did and I had to spend MONTHS chasing this. This is because regardless of whether you tru to get in touch with the hotel, the restaurant or the gym team, no one wants anything to do with you and will quite happily ignore pho e calls, emails and live chat messages. On top of this, the facilities at the gym are not fit for purpose. The steam room is NEVER open, there's only one of each of the machines on the gym floor which means you're always waiting for one to free up, and although there are multiple treadmills half of them are usually broken. The shoulder press was out of use for most of my membership tenure and they have a T-bar row which should also be out of use but instead it's balancing hastily on some weights making it a deathtrap to use. I stopped using the gym in January this year but took me three months to get them to cancel my membership after eventually receiving a rather abrupt phone call from someone called Jamie claiming to be the manager. But I am still fighting for a refund of the time I did not use the gym and can no longer get a hold of Jamie or anyone at the gym. I have repeatedly asked for details of their regulatory body in order to escalate this but have still not received a response. This may arrive at legal action against the company. I simply don't like to be ignored. So please avoid the village gym, hotel, pub and anything to do with the brand!

Positive experience: I live on the outer hebrides and use this gym probably 3 times a month when i am over to play ice hockey. The equipment is good, techno gym is always the best! Staff are a credit to the company, as is always the case at Village gym!! yes the bathrooms need upgrading, but like most companies im sure the current climate makes this difficult. But the facility is well maintained overall. I love training here i just wish they did flexible passes! Thanks guys and keep up the good work!

Negative experience: Gym is small, swimming pool is small. Very expensive membership. They have the cheek to want 90days to cancel your membership. So when you want to give up your membership after a year they hit you with 90 days notice and have to pay for an extra 3 months. No other gym does this. Get it up them

Positive experience: Tried the pool and steam room for the day at £20.00 on a Monday night. Yeah it was ok. It wasn't too busy that I could have a lane to myself for a wee while. Love a steam room sesh and felt super relaxed after especially when it's so cold outside at the moment. Didn't visit the bar and grill and the Starbucks was closed at the time but I'll definitely think about the membership, there are day passes at places with saunas that are a little cheaper but it's worth a visit. A member in the sauna said it'd be worth the membership if you're visiting a few times a week. A bit out of the way from town if you don't drive, but a bus takes you right outside. I don't really like going to gyms so maybe I'll stick to the day pass for the pool and sauna as I'd only be visiting a few times a month maybe. The female staff were very approachable and gave me directions.

Negative experience: I genuinely dislike the overall attitude of people working at the reception area. Couple of times I got stuck at reception since there was no one waiting there around 8 pm. I had to call the main office to get out. They never offer towels etc since I am using the Gympass application. Unpleasant experience.

Negative experience: Me and my brother joined this gym and all was well for a while but as time went on the gym got more and more busy I said this to the staff that it was no good to us and our routine and we wanted to leave the gym they then told us we had to continue the contract for another 2 months each which we did after we raised the issue, one of the last times we went after the final two month period we said that , that was our time in the village gym up but the staff said an issue was raised but not finalised and we then had to continue to pay another 2 months each when they told us that we said that it we had done what they said and it was down to a staff member NOT doing his/her job properly. just recently my little brother has not heard any thing and now has a letter in-front of him saying he owes £300 and will be summoned to court if he does not pay it in full and has been given 14 days to do so I will be in to morrow to raise this issue with the staff as this is not on we had given them notice and they decided to not do there jobs properly, £300 pound is a joke as this is nearly a full years membership we will be seeking legal advice if needed to do so.

Negative experience: Terrible Terrible Terrible management. The changing room was so dirty, wet floor and hair all over the place.(digusting)!! Over crowded sauna and swimming pool!! I just wasted 20£ for a daily pass. Never be back in my life even if it was free!! So disappointed.

Negative experience: Started great then it deteriorated big time. Things closed on and off and poor excuses. Management need changed as the attitudes is very disgraceful and smug. No care about the members except getting money in. Most staff are very helpful and friendly and do more than they should but yet this is due to short staff again and staff leaving due to poor managers attitudes. Multiple members have slid and some fell and reported it but management deny this. It’s not about what you know it’s about who you know it seems.

Negative experience: Been a member at this gym since it newly opened . All I have seen is this gym go downwards. It has the worst management who don't care about there members and more interested in the numbers game . The equipment is always broken. If its no the sauna it's the steam room or the pool The touch screen machines are hardly touch screen no more and have of them you can't even log into witj your village app. The Hygiene in the changing rooms is very poor along with the showers. Oh and they switch off the Sauna and Steam one hour before rest of poolside . Originally it use to close at 10pm. They charge you an arm and leg for membership fees Management needs changed .

Negative experience: Wouldn’t normally post bad things about a gym cus none are perfect but considering the price they charge here it’s probably best to let everyone know what it’s like: - Equipments been out of service for weeks/month. Staff said that the entire building deal with maintenance issues in a ‘priority list’…meaning any hotel issue i.e. plumbing is going to the top and any gym issue to the bottom…so things with gym/pool to take months to be fixed - Not had a working membership card scanner for months (another thing not fixed). You have to give your FULL name to the desk before verify and they let you through the gates, which would be fine normally, but they’re always busy either on the phone or always a queue with long conversations about joining etc…meaning it usually takes like 15 minutes just to get in - If you arrive within like 90 minutes of closing some of the staff are rude / clearly wanting you to leave as well - on top of that, half of the facilities shut 30 min - 1 h before the gym is advertised to closed. Locked changing rooms, locked lockers (half of which have been broken for months), switched off showers, no toilets, etc. Nobody tells you that til you need to use them - Very strange layout. Half weights half cardio…but the majority of people that go are lifters etc…every time I’ve been, at all times of day, the weights area (which has the machines so tightly together btw) is always heaving and the cardio is virtually empty…yet the cardio area is huge and the weights tiny…? - The prices are absolutely insane but THREE months notice period to cancel??? Literally what - The Wifi let’s you connect but disconnects every 5 minutes you’d be better on 3G with 1 bar lol - Changing rooms (particularly toilets) are gross…weird that they close them so early but don’t use that time to actually clean them Again bare in mind the memberships are more than FIFTY a month and this is what you get…? Not really their fault but it’s on Govan Rd so if there’s a game at Ibrox expect to be stuck there for ages lol

Negative experience: UPDATED - POOL CLOSED AGAIN. cancelling my membership. Very poorly managed gym. Turned up at 6am for a spin class I had booked to begin at 6.30. Class had been cancelled with no notifications sent out. However I did receive a notification from the gym the day before to remind me to attend this class. Emailed the manager Jamie directly to ask politely for an explanation, did not receive a reply. Pool also closed at least a couple of times a week and ongoing . I realise the pool issue is out with managers control however it is still unacceptable. Replying to paying members emails however is something I'm sure any competent manager could manage and have the decency to do.

Negative experience: Where can I start. Massively disappointed by a member of staff that goes by the name “Calum. Not even sure if this is his real name because I would be really ashamed to be known after the attitude and answers he gave me. I go to this gym 3/4 times a week. And every time the staff have been friendly and very welcome. Especially the guy with glasses and bold (apologies this is not an insult but best way to describe him) I came into the gym at 10:20 on Monday 11th after a football game. I wanted to use the shower facilities. The gym reception was unmanned. I went to the Hotel check in receiption and spoke to one of the staff there. He was friendly and went upstairs to find a member of staff that worked in the gym. Calum came down and I asked him if I can use the shower facilities he said no it closes at 10:30 pm (it was 10;32 at this point as of the wait) but i said to him the gym says on google it closes at 11 then he said the gym closes at 11 and showers at 10:30 pm. Confused then I said to him how does that work what if someone wants to use the shower after the gym around 10:45 since the gym closes at 11? His reply and I kid you not “go Home and shower” with an attitude. I said what do you mean? So if you use the gym at 10:30 you can’t go down stairs and shower? Really ? Then he said I don’t make the rules and I said that doesn’t make sense ..he said cool. I told him what’s your name and he said Calum’s I said that’s fine then he said cool again with a face. Absolutely disgusting attitude from young man. I can’t believe this is how they I got treated. When I asked the questions he had no answers and cornered himself in a hole. I Could’ve went on and on but there was no point of wasting any more time and energy discussing this with him. My only regret is not recording the conversation as I couldn’t believe my ears Genuinely feel sorry for him .

Fantastic experience: I was a member for years mostly just for the pool and steamroom. I love the eucalyptus steam room as it's actually steamy. The jacuzzi is great too. I love late night swimming. I like the option of using the gym but i am there just for the pool tbh. I wish there was just a pool membership as i pay for pool and gym but never use the gym. I hate that staff open the door beside the pool as it makes the pool area cold and lets flies in from outside. The starbucks isn't a real starbucks so you can't use your starbucks app/ points etc

Negative experience: Cancelled my membership within the cooling off period but they continued to bill me (unexpectedly so that put that account into overdraft). When I finally got through they saw the error and told me I would be refunded within 5 days, no sign after that time so had to get back in touch and was told the refund is in my account with the gym but not my bank account but they didn't have the ability to refund me until the manager is in. A nightmare to deal with in general and still not convinced the problem will be resloved without going through more hassle. Not a great gym overall, sauna/steam rooms are a nice addition but overall not worth the hassle

Fantastic experience: I come here for turtle tots (swimming) with my daughter and its always a lovely Thursday morning. Family changing room is always a bonus and a Starbucks is there for a quick coffee afterwards. Staff are always amazing with the wee one too!

Negative experience: Update - It is October 1st. Still awaiting a reply from the membership team from the 14th of September! Gym and pool itself are good. Staff onsite are good at Glasgow. However the membership team handling cancelations are not helpful they take days to reply causing a delay on cancelation which of course gains additional money to the club. For such a huge company it shouldn't take 9,8,7 and 5 days to reply there should be a team to handle these replies with 48 working hours. You are stuck with this because you cannot cancel any other way. Even trying to call the membership team on many occasions to discuss my situation. I could never get through as it was always to busy and basically impossible to speak to someone unless via email. I even tried online chat but again was told call membership team and email. Which was not helpful. I cancelled due to a family matter which caused me to relocate within 48 hours. Having this ongoing with constant delays is more stress to deal with that I just don't need. If the team can't handle the process quick enough to when it was first notified then they need to think about another method. I see I am not the only person who as went through the exact same experience!

Fantastic experience: Excellent, large gym with lots of machines and weights. Decent sized pool with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. I haven't done many classes but enjoyed the ones I have. Changing rooms and showers are spotlessly clean. Membership also includes virtual classes for when you can't get there and staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

Negative experience: Having been a member of a number of gyms over the past few years as a regular user, I decided to try Village Gym. On the pricier end of the spectrum, I didn’t expect the customer service and overall gym experience to be far inferior to the standards of much cheaper gyms (PureGym, The Gym, etc). During the pandemic, the gym adopted the book in on their app system - which many gyms did. The issue with this app was that it was often down, it also wouldn’t let you cancel down the time slot you’d booked to rearrange for a different time - even hours in advance - which is needed in my job where my end time can vary. Instead you’d been given an “error” message. The app had no problem in generating the “missed appointment” penalty however, so I’d have to go through the tedious phoning process to have that penalty reversed every time. It was a very user unfriendly experience. There were also issues on the gym floor itself with blue roll and wipes often not replenished which isn’t ideal in a pandemic. When I then wanted to cancel my membership I emailed my month’s notice to the member services email. I heard nothing and sent a chaser a couple of weeks later. Still nothing. I tried phoning the membership department on multiple occasions “too high a volume” so they never answered. Almost a month later and I noticed in my bank account that my next direct debit payment is still scheduled to be taken. I tried phoning. Reception said they’d phone me back - they didn’t. I phoned again and reception tried to put me through to the membership head office team - they wouldn’t take my call “too busy” - but they would take the time to speak to the reception and get them to pass on that if the payment comes out it’ll be backdated to the email. It’s a costly gym and I shouldn’t be paying anything when I’ve given the correct notice. I also dread the thoughts of chasing a refund with this level of customer service! I asked if there’s any other way for me to cancel my membership and was told “no, it’s only with our head office team who are very busy at the moment and likely just haven’t gotten round to it”. If it’s the only way to cancel, they aught to figure out how to get round to it within the month. I’ve instead joined a different gym for a fraction of the cost and the user experience is vastly improved. Couldn’t recommend Village Gym.
