Negative experience: Small pool was advertised online to be open when in actual fact it wasn’t. So we all had to cram into the big pool which the majority was tapped off for lessons. . The pool was really cold. Changing area was disgusting, toilets reeked of poo. Won’t be going back there are much better pools not that far away

Negative experience: Came here for the first time today, staff were very welcoming & polite however, I would not recommend using the sauna & steam room facilities here. They were absolutely vile, I felt dirty even just walking through. I paid almost £8 to swim and use the sauna & steam and they looked and smelt as though they hadn’t been cleaned for months. Lockers that don’t lock, showers that run cold, steam room with no steam, and sauna with no heat. I wish I asked for a refund it was a joke.

Negative experience: I went to the pool recently, but most of the lanes where being used for kids lessons. Leaving the other half for the public, however there where random kids just jumping into the pool in the public part? the lifeguard wasn't bothered at all. Meaning you couldn't basically swim in a straight line as there was no space also... The changing rooms are grotty as well and a lot of the lockers have broken keys on them meaning you cant lock your locker making the name meaningless.

Negative experience: Staff members squared up to 13 year old boy swearing at him and staff are very immature and the water had lumps of poo and insects it was and awful experience

Positive experience: I remember the "l" fell off the sign, and was a fair reflection of the place at the time, A bit better now, but the ever present linger that the aforementioned may be awaiting on the changing booth ledge

Positive experience: Enjoying coming here for many years. Seems to have got a bit tired last few years in terms of cleaning/maintenance. Loved Jacuzzi which got boarded up post Covid. Didn’t bother buying membership back afterwards as price increased for less being offered.

Fantastic experience: Now looking a little jaded but still giving the community a very good service. The staff are very good as is the service.

Negative experience: Hello! We do not recommend at all, there are no conditions for people! the dressing room is all dirty, in the swamp, you feel very uncomfortable! it is not possible to dry your hair, you pay 20 pence for a 2-minute use of the hair dryer, the staff remains friendly. visitors to the bachen walk in shoes and carry mud where others walk barefoot. It was disappointing!

Negative experience: Terrible experience. Attended for a swimming lesson, arrived 10 mins early so struggled to occupy my one year old. I just sat on the edge of the empty pool to let her splash to stop her screaming, a extremely rude life guard came to me and told me the lesson hadn’t started yet so I must stand at the side. Bare in mind all staff were just stood around doing nothing. My child then screamed and became restless so struggled to enjoy the lesson. Absolutely filthy changing rooms, people walking in outdoor footwear everywhere, no suitable changing facilities for babies, no clips on baby changing so I struggled to get myself changed while trying to hold her down. Noticed the water was merky as well, clearly dirty Would never return, stay clear

Negative experience: It hasn’t been open multiple days in a row and now they are closed to chemical failures complete disgrace the place is falling into shambles and it’s filthy

Negative experience: Useless waste of decent land, if anything is broken it's a minimum time of months for anything to be fixed nothing is ever quick could be utilized so much better.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service from the on duty life guards on our latest visit, my son who is learning to swim was refused the use of a pool noodle of which there where many. We have never been refused before so I asked why, i was told that the noodles and other floats were being damaged and so had to be kept for the sole use of the children who had paid for lessons. I felt this was a poor excuse as all the children should have access to the floats as they are a swimming aid.

Positive experience: Family swimming with granddaughter. Excellent facilities. Slightly awkward to fine as ormskirk Town centre is one way and sat nav tried to sent me to morrisons carpark

Negative experience: The changing areas were filthy & the changing rooms were extremely small. There's a 20p charge for a useless hairdryer which struggled to even dry my fringe, so gave up. Pool was busy but could swim. Loads of kids in having lessons in half the pool, but none had been in any shower before entering the pool, same with most adults too. Gross. There's no easy access into the pool for anyone with a disability. Pool temperature was fine. Entry charge £4.20 excessive & £1.00 to park. Won't be going back.

Negative experience: Changing cubicles have a tiny bench inside them which is less than useless. Wouldnt say it was value for money either. We take our granddaughter swimming and use pools in Liverpool. Cost for 2 adults and a 4 year old £4.80. The same for Ormskirk £9. 50. Not impressed

Positive experience: Gym spot on, Jay n Odell sound guys. Cleaning lady n lifeguards sound. Be nice if they had a jacuzzi n sauna were workin more but other than tha would get 3.5/5. Oh the shower pressure is sh*t o/w nice spot. Try n go 3/4 times p/w

Negative experience: We come here once a week for the kid's swimming lessons. Two out eight showers working. The rest were barricaded off. Gents toilets in the changing rooms still out of order since before Christmas. Place has really gone downhill in the last few months.

Positive experience: Decent pool and changing facilities but some areas of backlog maintenance required. Paid parking outside (free on sundays).

Fantastic experience: Lovely pool and facilities.

Negative experience: Low rating due to a number of female toilets out of use in the changing rooms and no sinks working to wash hands. Disabled toilets are not open to use this facility whilst others are being repaired. With so many children using the pool for lessons this evening I was shocked with these poor hygiene standards especially since it has been the last 2 times we've been now. On a positive note, plenty of parking (pay and display) but this will be refunded in the centre. Swimming lessons also great, regular updates on progress.

Positive experience: Considering the current Pandemic has limited certain things, Like the sauna being closed etc, wasn't sure about the jacuzzi? But it's had its Pros and Cons, it's my first visit aswell. Pros: (for me atleast being autistic) It's not as busy or loud, plenty of room to swim without people getting in your way, quiet area to change clothes, Showers nice and hot. Cons: Lockers unavailable so nowhere to really safely store your things, sauna was closed, some places taped off in the changing area, access to whole pool is limited/separated by lane markers. I'd like to return due to the quiet of swimming without interruption, but I'd be interested to see how the place is after the pandemic has calmed and things go back to normal, other than that, not a bad experience, helpful friendly staff too which is always nice.

Negative experience: No changing faculties/toilets or showers you have to get dressed at the side of the pool while everyone is swimming to standing around. I understand with covid but surely you can clean two or three changing rooms after every prebooked 55min slot.. when asked about the changing rooms was told you should bring a dressing gown and leave in your wet clothes.. no logic at all. Won't be retuning.

Fantastic experience: This is an older pool, so no water chutes or anything but I'd recommend it to anyone. Staff are great and really helpful. Our son has learned to swim there and the instructors are excellent. The pool and changing rooms are always clean and well serviced. There is very sensibly priced pay and display parking outside and you'll need a pound coin for the lockers in the changing rooms (you do get it back though). Great facilities in the changing rooms for getting small children ready too.

Positive experience: The kids pool is fab but the place just looks so run down in the changing rooms. Also there was only one out if three family change rooms that wasn't out of order, had to use a "group" changing room which had been left open (I assume by accident as all the others were locked). Staff were nice though and it was only £7 for two adults and a baby so a fair price for the experience.

Fantastic experience: Nice affordable gym. With plenty of space and equipment. Jacuzzi, steam room, two pools, and sauna (temperature can be much higher) but probably it for some reason not to hot. Nice and clean. Very polite and helpful staff. Parking only a £ (8:30 - 17:30 weekdays). Been there for couple of weeks and it never been crowded. Love it

Positive experience: My son has swimming lessons here. Facilities are just okay I dont find it the cleanest place and sometimes the staff are not very helpful. However has good parking and my son enjoys his class with mike who is a very good teacher.

Negative experience: Remember your Swimming baths in the 80's? This is exactly one of those. Underfunded and just about passable for HSE. Even has wood jammed in the handrails to stop them wobbling when you climb out. Classy. It's also Ran by Serco so don't expect happy staff.

Fantastic experience: Council owned leisure centre. It has 2 pools, one of which is a baby pool and is warmer than the big pool. A gym which is well stocked with exercise machines and free weights. A health suite which consists of a sauna, steam room, and a jacuzzi. There's a wide range of exercise classes available which you have to book in advance. Membership fees are very well priced, and can be paid monthly or annually. The staff there are always helpful and cheerful. It's well placed in the town centre, so after a swim or workout you can easily pop to the shops without having to move your car. The carpark is £1 for 3 hours, but if you give your ticket into the reception you get 40p back. A great place to visit and become a member. Well done West Lancs Council, and top marks for your staff.

Fantastic experience: Went to the Pirate Pool Party here with my son, only £1, thought we'd give it a go. Really glad we did. As we entered they had music playing, three staff members getting us all in the mood for the games, Volley Ball, Walk the plank, various competitions.. the winners won a water gun toy. I thought it was well organised and excellent value for money. The guy getting us all involved did a superb job, as did all the staff on our first visit.. defo be back. Cheers
