Positive experience: Great trainers, good equipment. But not enough classes always over subscribed

Negative experience: Rude Staff, unhelpful, there is no real PT OR GYM STAff In a gym. Very small equipment outdated! Yet they want to take £85 from My account, and there is no real manager that can deal with it! No wonder why I left in the first places

Negative experience: Stay away from this leisure centre! Rude and unhelpful staff, the company who own it are sharks and only out to make a pound note…

Negative experience: Gone cashless, discrimination in my opinion! Can only get in if you use a very slow QR code! Asked for a card as quicker. Refused one!! Absolutely disgraceful! I'm a paying customer! Very expensive for what you get, if you compare to the likes of pure gym! Only use as its local! Let's hope new one, (if it ever gets built!) is better! Most staff nice.

Negative experience: Open until 3pm on a Saturday… yes, that’s correct. 3 o’clock. In the afternoon. It must be one of the only gyms in the country with these hours. Sunday I can understand. Closed every bank holiday and 11 days over Christmas last year and I still had to pay for the entire month! The facilities are ok but if you’re looking for a gym with normal opening hours, this is not the place for you.

Negative experience: Adequate basic gym facilities. Always much too hot April- August in the weights area, they seem to dislike air conditioning!!!

Fantastic experience: PT Sarah Fitzwater is absolutely AWESOME. Her knowledge is amazing, her drive is amazing, her sessions are amazing!!!! She really cares and gives you the confidence to gym no matter what. Get in there, book Sarah F for some PT she'll change your life. X

Fantastic experience: Lovely gym with a real sense of community. My favourite part of going to the gym is definitely my personal trainer Sarah Fitzwater - she has been a massive help to me with my fitness journey and has raised my confidence levels astronomically. If you are new to Epping gym, have gym anxiety or just want to smash your personal bests I would definitely try out some personal training sessions with Sarah!

Negative experience: The gym is convenient if you live in Epping and don't want to drive, adequate for local but basic and not enough equipment. Pete is a great PT who makes the place, good staff let down by management. Closed for nearly two weeks over Xmas this year (still charged the entire month, their attitude was drive to another centre, which defeats the point of paying to go to a gym you don't have to drive to). Have cut many of the Virtual Studio Cycling Classes, which was a great benefit & USP and were on all throughout the day every day, now virtually no classes in the afternoons, just an empty studio full of bikes which you can't use apparently, even though you use them on your own if you're the only one doing a class, makes no sense! Junior session daily best avoided in the gym, groups of kids hogging equipment, benches and weights for long periods of time with no gym etiquette or consideration for other members. Frustrating, not like any other commercial gym I've been a member of, don't feel valued as a member. Too many compromises for the benefit of the location, especially when there are better and cheaper options if you are prepared to drive!! Hope the new leisure centre will be better.

Negative experience: The sports centre is hardly open, closes from 23rd Dec for 11 days and early closing at weekends. Never known anywhere like it! Not a great way to get more people to join really.

Negative experience: Little gym equipment , many kids hogging machines don’t pay if parents member….. BUT close to home , next nearest Harlow… maybe change gym only option , places Loughton good though

Positive experience: Only a visitor watching grandchild but amenities seemed impressive.

Positive experience: It is very outdated and expensive for what it is. Especially when compared to other gyms in Harlow that have much better facilities and equipment. Opening hours are slightly less than a usual gym but I expected this would be the case in Epping as it is a smaller town. I just hope the new gym that is due to open when qualis group finishes building the new residential properties has state of the art modern facilities.

Fantastic experience: Sarah Fitzwater is a great PT , and looking forward to more sessions & courses with her. she is engaging, pays attention to your health/wants & needs out of training and as a new gym goer makes me feel comfortable & safe. she also checked in with me after my session which was really nice. she helped push me but let me take a breather when I needed to. she corrected me on my form and use of certain equipment in a constructive manner which I appericate and need. I really recommend her. Also, the gym looks bright & fresh & has equipment that I am enjoying using.

Negative experience: During a party my 2 year old son was on a bouncy castle and a rude member of staff deflated it whilst my boy was still on it. My girlfriend said to the staff member " my son is in that" and he replied " I know, you better get him out then" Terrible customer service and if it wasn't a child's birthday party I would have made more of a complaint at the time

Fantastic experience: The gym is great, it has the equipment you need, just has a finite amount of it. During busy hours it's difficult to get on certain equipment, but if you time your sessions properly the selection is good and the staff are always welcoming. The staff are nice and welcoming... some of the other reviews I've seen seem a bit dramatic...

Positive experience: Nice sports centre and reasonably priced - they also offer a useful pay as you go service if you arent sure how often you will be going for. I havent tried out a lot of the classes but the cycle studios look great. They have decreased the amount of squash courts which is a shame but you can normally find time for these if you book far enough in advance. Changing rooms are average but good for the amount you're paying! :)

Positive experience: Helpful and friendly staff. Sport hall can be dusty at times and out of service shower facility when I visited.

Negative experience: I have visited this sport centre for 25 years, it used to be great but now it seems the manager is only concerned about the gym, car parking and not much else. The badminton club hasn’t been allowed to restart, I have no idea why there is such a bias against badminton! The range of sports and activities that used to be catered for has reduced. If you go to the gym, spin, attend gymnastics you will be fine, if you want to book a squash court, badminton court, ask for you child to join trampoline class, or ask for badminton nets to be properly set up, don’t bother, these are not concerns to be catered for. I do feel it is the manager and the current franchise as Ongar has gone downhill. The membership used to allow you to visit any leisure centre swimming pool in Epping Forest but I heard this is not allowed now. I won’t be taking out a membership. It’s a real shame this place was great for kids/teens clubs and socially- there used to be a bar and a big screen, now it’s a spin room :(

Negative experience: I stopped my direct debit on evening of governments closure of gym as i am now also out of work myself due to lock down I now have a very aggressive debt collection company demanding money from me How disgraceful when people are dying

Positive experience: Decent place. But there is a lot of basic equipments/machines that they should have tho. I asked the staff about it few months ago and apparently am not the only one, but nothing happened unfortunately...

Positive experience: Recently updated local gym. Plenty of equipment, staff very helpful. Showers changing rooms are good. Couple of squash courts, one glass back. Large studio offering lots of classes daily. Even a spin studio running all day. Then there is large indoor arena for basketball/badminton etc.

Positive experience: It has everything you need

Negative experience: The center has illegally withdrawn money from my debit card, despite canceling my membership in due time. But nobody is trying to sort this issue. It is a pure scam.

Positive experience: Not the biggest gym, but hardly packed during the day. Loads of modern to classic types of machinery. Friendly staff

Positive experience: It would bec5 star but there doesnt appear to be a lift to the sports hall which is down 4 flights of very steep stairs. Staff are excellent and facilities are what I would expect of a council run sports centre. Childrens party was very well organised. Good atmosphere, not too hot, vending machines and seating and observation area. I've not used anything else except the hall, good height for badminton. Good floor for ball sports.

Negative experience: This gym is below par, taking into account the price of their montly membership they need to invest in some new equipment, starting with some more resistance weights.

Positive experience: Good place, a lot of good service and equipment, but has a vending machine with unhealthy consumables inside right outside the gym, defeats the objective.

Fantastic experience: Recently renovated ... so everything is clean and fresh looking. Lots of activities do classes if you like that, a good gym and cycle room. Changing rooms great with friendly staff. And lots of stuff for kids to do after school and at the weekends.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous gym. Nice people. Classes are great and gym equipment is new and excellent. It is great family friendly place and I enjoy going every time.

Negative experience: Put the opening times for the gym in the website in a place that's easy to navigate. You have a s**t load of information except what time it opens and shuts. If it's there its not as prominent as it should be.

Positive experience: Playing the bowls here regularly,always look pretty busy,lots of development around.
