Fantastic experience: The gym is so much better now with the upgrade.. Finally! I look forward to my sessions more now, as there're more equipment to work out with, and the space has been better utilised.

Positive experience: Peckham pulse / Southwark leisure centre is a great local, community gym. The hours available are great. I just wished that they had adult hydro pool available after spin class ( group cycle). I’d love to do an early morning spin and shower then have a swim in the hydro pool which I find quite relaxing. They have a wide range of classes available and they always seem packed and popular. I enjoy the total stretch and chai class with Julia. Spin class is absolutely amazing with Isaac, Theo and James. They have great music selection and know how to motivate the class!. My fitness levels have definetly improved. I always smile when I finish my workouts. The gym facilities and equipment are great. If you want to use weights it’s a great place to strength train. The swimming pools are good. They are clean and very family friendly. However sauna times should be extended and open to members in the mornings. I enjoyed the personal training taster session Kyle. It was great to understand how to use the equipment properly, which has increased my confidence and now I can use the equipment properly and independently. Kyle used his personal training skills to encourage us if he sees us perhaps not using equipment properly and pushes us to do our best, which I appreciate! I am not happy with the pigeons coming into the building because of the damaged roof and a leaky roof that drips water on your head as you walk-in and up and down the stairs it’s grossly unhygienic and seems to be an on going problem. Southwark council need to fix this issue ASAP. Tip is to wear a hood over your head when you walk up the stairs! Déjà who works front of house on reception is really helpful and so pleasant and staff generally wish you good morning and good evening and do their best to help and guide you, which is great customer service. There is a Good soft play area for children and my child enjoys playing there. It would be great to have a sanitary pad dispenser for women in the bathroom and also a better range of drinks and snacks in the vending machines for adults and children. The ladies toilets always seem to have an issue with most of them in the changing area not being able to flush. Please correct the flaws and not drag on the work needed to repair the faults. This gym has a lot of happy regulars and loyal members. Some big improvements needed in areas mentioned. But it’s a happy space with good facilities, good lighting and polite staff. Edited to add literally hours after I posted this review I noticed workmen in the building attending to the roof repairs! I also saw them in the ladies changing area so I’m assuming the toilets will be fixed too! Is this coincidence or just quick accountability whatever it is it’s great to see this happening! Fantastic experience: Not been coming to this leisure centre, but I already feel completely comfortable here. The gym, swimming pool and sauna are completely easily accessible, and at a reasonable price. Peckham Pulse has everything I could need to help me improve my fitness.

Fantastic experience: I am attending the Pilates classes with Wendy, brilliant teacher! Her courses are the highlight of my week, and I have been attending them since December of last year on Thursdays in Peckham and Saturday mornings in Camberwell. Her classes are challenging yet accessible, regardless of your fitness level.Wendy creates a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable, regardless of their experience level. Her teaching style is engaging and motivating, and she always makes sure to offer modifications for different fitness levels.Furthermore, she constantly adds something new to her classes, so they are always different. It is clear that Wendy is passionate about Pilates and dedicated to her students. I highly recommend this class!

Negative experience: This place has the best pool as its the biggest and widest from all the Southwark centres and i use to swim here in the evening times. However, it's in serious decline the pool is all open plan now in the evenings until 9pm/8pm with no lanes so the sauna/steam room can stay open. So what about the pool users who now treat the place like a holiday camp, sitting around, lounging which creates a poor atmosphere. All your attracting is people whom don't take their health seriously and are using your facility like a social club. Some of them are even eating! Who the hell eats at a swimming pool! The adults whom are trying to swimming are just weaving in and out of people. Some members also keep their belongings in the changing room overnight and don't get me started on the showers. There are only 2 functional showers full of flies and the pool is constantly cloudy. Whomever manages this place is seriously failing.

Fantastic experience: The perfect place for a great swim with kids or by yourself. Gym facilities are great. The thing that makes this place tho is the staff from the reception team Angela and Sarah and everyone else to the pool side team fabian especially they are all so welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. I go every week with my daughter and she loves it.

Sarah especially on the front desk is wonderful! Recently just joined and for the price you pay, I cannot fault this place at all! Fantastic experience: I came to train after the refit, and I am thoroughly impressed with the thoughtfulness of the design. The managers listened to client feedback and gave us the equipment and gym we wanted. My best feature so far is the Box 12 pod. Its varied programs ensure a full body workout - weights, cardio, etc, and is so much more engaging than a treadmill session. I was not shy about complaining about the old gym, but having great things to say about the new space is much nicer. Fantastic experience: Very good Southwark Council leisure centre at Peckham Pulse. I was there to try out the newly refurbished gym. But the Centre also has a great swimming pool. The newly refitted gym is light and airy and has all the latest equipment from Pulse Fitness. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Fantastic experience: I like this gym so much because it’s very easy to access and easy to come to. People are very very friendly even when I went in swimming I had no complaints whatsoever. I like to come to this gym because it’s friendly it’s understanding and great gym, especially equipment and easy to access. That’s why I give it a five star rating 10 out of 10.

Fantastic experience: Abbey is the Best yoga teacher, the new gym looks great, staff very helpful. My only request would be for vending machines. Sometimes you forget your drink, you need a sugar hit and you’re stuffed

My life and well-being and peace of mind have changed since I’ve attended the Centre. Great teachers, such as Wendy doing Pilates and Abby doing Yoga. Attending these classes, have change my life for the best. One of my top three best choices to date.

Fantastic experience: This leisure centre is an integral part of the community. It is very warm and welcoming centre in comparison to other council run centres like elephant. From the moment you enter thee building, you are warmly greeted by receptionists like Deija and Constantine. They play an important role in helping customers with hidden disabilities feel confident and comfortable to use the facility. It’s very accessible and offers multiple disability swim sessions unlike other centres that have one/two per week. There is an accessible changing area which provides large cubicles and easy access to the hydrotherapy pool. The hydro pool is warm which is great for those with mobility issues. The hydro pool lowers and raises at the beginning and end of every session and helps disabled users to walk in and exit the pool at floor level. Some improvements would be to keep the accessible access open until 9.45 when the pool closes as sometimes the door is closed early and disabled customers have to walk all the way around and through the Women’s toilet to gain access to the disabled access changing area thus making that process itself not very accessible. Possibly introducing a quiet swim sessions for those who are neurodivergent.
