Negative experience: Teenager joined this gym. Gave notice on contract via online account. Gym continued to take payments. Eventually stopped direct debit - company then sent debt collection after a teenager. Can't give no stars - have to give one or this won't post. Recommend people join Brookes Gym.

Fantastic experience: The personal trainer Mason Amos, has helped me build my training program including my calorie intake and protein intake per day. it is very clear and useful, it has helped me alot with my training and I am seeing a lot of progress already, i would definitely recommend Mason if you are looking for a personal trainer.

Positive experience: Excellent Personal Trainers, I’ve worked with Mason who is very friendly and pushes me to reach my goals. Highly recommend working with him! As for the gym itself it has very poor management and business ethics, do beware! Cable machines break down regularly and take over a month to get repaired. I got conned into signing up for a 12 month plan without being properly told my terms and conditions, exit strategies and cancellation policies. You might be pressured into signing up before you can even get a chance to read anything so be careful. I Honestly felt very betrayed by AnytimeFitness as I why a long time member for over 2 years, when I wanted to cancel by membership due to an emergency, my reason wasn’t valid enough to the contracts t&c, I was just straight up rejected and sent 3 documents explaining why. Won’t be renewing any future contracts with them because of these practices ✌️

Fantastic experience: Great 24-hour gym with a wide range of equipment. The staff are friendly and always quick to help. The place is always clean and tidy, which makes a big difference. Convenient to get to and has everything I need for a good workout - solid gym!

Negative experience: Not impressed with the service now. I moved here for work and they were quick to make this my home club - but have cancelled my fob in the process so now I’m paying for a gym I can’t use. I paid up for 3 years in advance and so far I’ve lost a month. Each franchise operates like a bandit in my opinion - so much for train anytime and having 5 thousand clubs if you can’t get in to them. Oh, and no blue roll, weights not re-racked and no toilet paper.

Positive experience: For the price , the gym should have more equipment's and surely space. People say the gym is clean , well is getting there but I still wouldn't use the word clean. Staff seems to be friendly. The locations is good as there's buses and scouter/car parking(you pay).

Negative experience: Decent gym. Missing a few machines such as an arm curl machine. Can feel a bit cramped during busy time. I purchased a 6 month contract, expecting the direct debit payments to stop after 6 months. They didn't. I was charged for 2 extra months before I noticed and cancelled the direct debit. Now I'm getting emails from them saying I'm building up late fees. Don't go. Just go to PureGym instead.

Positive experience: Decent gym, good equipment, does the job. Some suggestions: install water fountains, get the standard anytime fitness arm curl machine, a phone charging point(s) and combination code lockers.

Positive experience: Went in for a trial, the member of staff who showed me around was, friendly and helpful. In my opinion it is a decent gym with good fascilities lots of machines and weights. Although if you like using a skipping rope then the ceiling is a little too low.

Negative experience: They put this sticker everywhere, but when you referred any friends to them, you will get nothing. This is doesn’t matter of money, this is a matter of promise and trust.

Negative experience: Great equipment and a decent gym, but the membership terms and conditions render the gym useless. Why can I not pay upfront for a month membership to use the gym, or day/week passes. I regularly visit Oxford for a couple weeks at a time and WANT TO PAY money to use the gym. However due the frankly piss poor membership options, they rule out a significant portion of their customer base.

Fantastic experience: I joined in Dec.2021 and have used the gym regularly ever since. The staff are excellent, very helpful and friendly. The gym is clean and airy, with a wide range of equipment and, depending on the time of day, not too many people to get quick access onto machines. It's well-placed at the heart of Headington.

Negative experience: Go to Puregym instead. Way cheaper and way less hassle with cancellation. Their terms and conditions will screw you over trust me. They will cut contact with you as soon as they find any inconvenience. EDIT: Your terms and conditions aren't clear, which shows in the majority of your negative reviews. Also, i have contacted you multiple times and still been ignored seems like im not the only one on this issue. Explained my situation that i was charged about 4 months beyond my 6 month contract and requested a refund as i didn't consent to renewing my contract beyond the 6 months in the first place. They responded by requesting payment for an ADDITIONAL month, even though i no longer having residency in the area. Clearly, taking your money and screwing you over is the top priority for this gym. LOOK AT THEIR RESPONSE: terms and conditions are more important. They intentionally make their ToC as anti-consumer friendly as possible. Look at other reviews, sadly seems like im not the only one having these issues. Interested to see if they respond here, even though my emails have been largely ignored.

Positive experience: Convenient location, especially after working in a nearby shop. Decent kit, friendly staff. However, there doesn't seem to be much kit to my liking, which can be a slight nuisance for some (best to either hop in with someone on a machine or come at quiet times). Can feel somewhat claustrophobic at times.

Negative experience: Can’t count the number of times I’ve almost been hit with a piece of equipment by a member of staff while they were moving it for a class, complete disregard for personal space. My lock has been cut and my belongings thrown out because I’ve been away for 1 day while a new policy has been implemented and I wasn’t informed of it before. I’ve been charged for one month over my 1-year contract, when I cancelled manually, I got no confirmation of it and only today my fob did not work. I assume that is because toy contract has been actually cancelled of which I was not informed. I assume, because when I tried ringing the bell and calling to be let in to confirm, no one picked up for 20min.

Positive experience: Helpful, sharing and neighbourly place for those attending with a good attitude. I may pick up another class at Anytime Fitness.

Negative experience: Spent 10 minutes waiting outside to get in for a tour with the intention of signing up for a 3 month summer membership but no response to pressing buzzer and no answering of phone despite numerous attempts! Not very good

Fantastic experience: I signed up more than 2 years ago and I am still very happy. Staff is very friendly, professional and helpful whenever you need. Although the space is not massive, you can find all the equipment needed for training. Last year I started PT training with Jade and I can say she is very professional, always smiling and helped me boost my confidence a lot!! Also I enjoy a lot classes. Very good location, especially for hospitals staff!!

Positive experience: I have had membership for here for over 2 years now. I always manage to get on the machines that I want. The shower rooms are clean with ghd hairdryers and straighteners. The only downside is the price banding doesn't include off peak/peak times and shorter time frames i.e. Pay as you go, weekly/monthly etc. like other gyms.

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. Gym is not being cleaned properly, often out of products to wipe the equipment after use. It took me 3 weeks to negotiate cancellation of my contract. Haven't had response to messages or phone calls, had to chase it myself . Dishonest owner. No control over amount of people during the busy times. High turn over of staff, and unprofessional. Most important, if you are a teenage girl or a young woman I would advise not to join this gym , to avoid unnecessary ,,attention " from certain individuals at the gym. Forget about cancellation of the contract before 12 months have passed after joining. They still will be charging you ,even if you are dead.

Fantastic experience: This is one of the best gyms I’ve ever been too. It’s very clean and it has amazing use of equipment. It’s very conveniently located and you have everything you could ask for in a gym. The staff maintains a consistent manner of professionalism at all times, and Shaz in particular is amazing at what he does. He has helped me achieve most of my goals by building my confidence, showing me how each set of equipment works, and always being so kind and helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this gym to anyone.

Positive experience: Be very careful to read the small print when signing up. The terms are lengthy and archaic. You can only sign up for a 12 month membership. They have a relocation clause which states that you can cannot terminate your membership if your new address is within 15 miles of another Anytime Fitness. I decided not to sign up on this basis. It’s a shame because Anytime Fitness is in a very convenient location for residents of Headington but imagine moving to another town and having to pay out the remainder of your membership for nothing - or having to travel 15 miles to use an Anytime Fitness gym rather than whatever is your new ‘local’. Also they had an unfriendly cancellation policy during COVID lockdown. The gym itself is reasonably well equipped and the staff are friendly but personally I decided to sign up for Buzz Gym who offer a simple month-by-month membership with very transparent and straightforward terms. I’ve been burnt with stinky terms in the past and I don’t want to have the same thing happen again. There’s a reason why Buzz Gym and Pure Gym are doing so well.

Positive experience: Great facilities: with 2 heavy duty power racks (1 with a platform); trap bar; dumbbells upto 50kg; large cable station with a very ergonomic chin/dip assist machine (one of the best I've used); a range of kettle bells; punch bag; and a machine to cover every part of the body this Anytime Fitness definitley has my seal of approval for somewhere to get a fantastic full body workout. And to top it off, very hospitable, friendly, staff. Not the biggest gym but it has a more personal feel than that of larger commercial gym chains.

Positive experience: Always like to use this gym. People are respectful and it's well organised and laid out. But needed a bit of a clean with debris in the corner of the studio where I was stretching.

Negative experience: I have been trying to quit this gym for months Have moved away from oxford , had no job and yet was forced to pay for a closed gym until the end of my membership (jan2021) I had clearly requested at joining if it were possible for me to have a 6 month only membership and was told sure sure that can be discussed Best part I am now being forced to have my membership extended despite me telling them that I no longer live in oxford -as far as I am concerned I payed for a gym that was closed for almost a year and I am not paying a single penny after jan 2021 Anyone who joins this gym will be making a big mistake Nothing is worth the amount of misery they put you through I say it again Donot join this gym It’s not worth it

Negative experience: Rang saying I had lost my job to covid, said they wouldn't charge me for the month until I could prove this ( I have been charged.) I have no income. Also shielding due to my father in law( I live with) being a cancer survivor and paraplegic. Very unsympathetic. Sad as when I went I enjoyed the gym

Negative experience: Not letting someone cancel during a pandemic due to shielding a relative is terrible. choose a gym that looks after its members welfare at home too.

Negative experience: Wouldn't let my partner cancel her membership after having to leave her job because of Covid, and having to shield my multiple disability stroke/cancer surviving paraplegic farther. My girlfriend has used gym a handful of times before lockdown after signing up in February, was forced to pay through lockdown and pays nearly 40 quid a month and doesn't even live near the gym anymore. If they could guarantee their gum is Covid safe we would understand but it just isn't.
