Fantastic experience: I have not been personally- my son went to check the gym out with another member. He enjoyed the gym. However he lost his airpod pro there, we think someone may have picked them up - I don’t know why they would have wanted to keep one AirPod and the case - strange people out there. Callum who works there was extremely helpful and genuinely wanted to help find them. So based on my interaction and my son enjoying the gym - yes I would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Gym classes are incredible and the staff are amazing and very friendly.
Negative experience: I am disabled and the lift broke to the gym making it hard for me to access the gym. Staff continually told me the lift was about to be fixed, so I continued my membership. I was offered one month of free access as compensation. Yet, this went on for over 7 months, so I tried to cancel and explained the situation but was told I'd have to pay another month despite not being able to access the facility. I was threatened with debt collectors if I did not pay. A huge waste of money for me and really dissapointing way for a gym to treat people with disabilities. From reviews others seem to have had similar bad experiences - seems a lack of any moral decency. Having seen the reply from the manager - a lot of inaccuracies here! I was offered one month free if I remained a member not 3. They did not waive the final payment, they tried to charge me for 2 months after I sent my initial email saying I would cancel.

We did offer one month of free access as compensation for the inconvenience, and additionally, we provided 3months separate freezes on your account to allow flexibility during the time the lift was out of service and we also prepared to use our facility for the further 3 months without any additional charge after the lift has been fixed. We truly hoped these measures would help mitigate the situation. However, I understand that the ongoing delays caused significant challenges, and for that, I sincerely apologize. Regarding the cancellation, as per our policy, we do require a calendar month’s notice and final payment, but we did waive the final payment due to the circumstances surrounding your accessibility challenges. We also made efforts to explain the importance of clearing any arrears to avoid debt collection, but I completely understand how this was frustrating, given the circumstances. Negative experience: I explained on induction to the PT that I was trying to conceive and was nervous about signing a 12 month contract if I was unable to attend the gym during pregnancy. I was reassured before signing up that this would not be an issue. I became pregnant, had terrible symptoms during first trimester. I contacted the gym to ask to end my contract, just two months before the contract was due to end. The gym refused to terminate my contract, asking to wait for my 24 week Maternity B form (which would be at the end of my contract anyway and they would not accept a doctors letter), or to pause my contract and use the two months later once baby was here (not convenient as we have no family in London to support us). I was told I already had a reduction in monthly payments (NHS - £31/m) and that I should have read the fine print contract. I think this is unacceptable, I would certainly not recommend Anytime Fitness to any friends or family. I should not have signed up for 12 months, I hardly used the gym after pregnancy and was a complete waste of money. No empathy or understanding from the team in High Barnet, London.

While we strive to support our members during significant life events, our membership agreement clearly outlines the policies regarding contract termination, including the requirement for a doctor’s note for early termination. We encourage all members to thoroughly read the contract and to utilize the 14-day cooling-off period if they have any concerns about our terms and conditions. As soon as you informed us of your difficulties in attending the gym, we offered to freeze your membership immediately. We communicated that while we can freeze your membership during pregnancy or after having your baby, terminating the membership requires specific documentation, such as a doctor’s note. The MAT B1 form allows us to extend the freeze further, but it does not serve as a basis for early termination. Unfortunately, without the necessary evidence, we were unable to process your request for termination, leading to an additional month of charges. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will continue to work on improving our communication. We hope that, in the future, you might consider giving us another chance. Fantastic experience: I have been attending AnyTime Fitness High Barnet since 2015.Over the past 9 years my attendance has consisted largely of coached-led classes from Yoga,Body Combat,Boxercise,Body Balance, Body Conditioning ,Body Pump ,spinning and Pilates lately zumba. I had individual classes with 4 different coaches at different times working largely on body tone up. Slthough not affected by Covid my attendance to classes have reduced greatly possibly a reaction to the different Covid vaccines. I have benefited considerably from the gym in terms of my fitness,health and wellbeing and very vitally Body and Mind awareness as well as their strengths and limitations. I have learnt a great deal from the different coaches(some have unfortunately left) who have been very supportive understanding respectful and they know their stuff,no doubt about that! .I have learned more from those coaches and been made to feel a great deal better within myself than a visit to GP surgery. No doubt Gym as an academy is well known in history.It is only for the past 20 years that the culture of gym attendance has really taken prominent role in England in.terms of health promotion. Gym attendance and under the good guidance of coaches it can definitely make a difference between health and Illhealth.It also benefits the Mind as mentioned above. Of course high cost of living can be a hindrance for many people to afford gym attendance which is very sad and unfortunate. I really believe that the Government ought to consider gym-class attendance as part of care and health and wellbeing management. But you see I am a Dreamer, always have been, and can only hope ""that one day you will join me"" My only issue with the Gym has been a terrible leak in one corner of the studio when.it rains. Dampness and Humidity build up in that corner the iron are rusted and if the ventilation is not fully operational which has happened on multiple occasions this can be very harmful to health especially if one is of advanced age which I consider myself to be.In winter it can be diabolical.Many times I have decided not to attend if the weather has been rainy and very cold. A body and mind that undergoes a great deal of exertions need absolutely to be in an environment that is reasonably maintained and clean and dry with proper ventilation.Absolutely vital.No question about that. Furthermore, I am not very satisfied with the cleaning of the studio.It really feels like there is a lack of proper regular cleaning and maintenance.It looks like there is only one cleaning session in the morning and even that seems to be only haphazard. The mats are filthy,I bring my own mat. I do feel the organisation is probably undergoing some financial constraints which is very much of a contemporary issue everywhere anyway but it does not stop me from complaining about it as an issue,respectfully. To conclude I am very grateful the Gym is near where I live and I try as much as I can to avail myself of its coach-led classes and its benefits and to attend the actual gym and try to do a bit of weight,treadmill etc. O yea the boxing punch bag is a new one,thank for that. I wish the gym management and its well and good fortunes.And I will definitely continue to attend. Thanks.

Negative experience: Tried this gym out Absoutley diobolical! So outdated and machines need wd40 equipment is ripped to shreads needs a major re vamp! Horrible atmosphere. If I could give it no stars I would!

Negative experience: People be careful this gym is very bad bad bad. Be careful for your self. I registered with them 6 months ago after I fined my self pregnant. I sent email to them to stop of my pregnancy time and it was called me all the time to charge me. And now one agency has called me for 500£ because I have stop going to the gym. Terrible service terrible service only for stress. And the manager they don’t care for anybody bad person is saying beautiful things in the beginning but is not true.
Negative experience: I joined around 2 years ago. Unfortunately the gym has gone completely downhill, equipment is not maintained, the gym is generally filthy and the changing facilities are disgusting. The front door has been broken on multiple occasions so non-members walk in quite often in the evenings when there are no staff present. Also gym etiquette is generally poor amongst members with plates and dumbbells not being re-racked.

Negative experience: Please Please do NOT do NOT DO NOT join this gym!!! Absolutely do not!! Read on. Like a previous client I was told 'join up and you can cancel anytime'!! This it turned out is a total lie and conveniently the person who sold me that line is no longer employed there - how conveniant? In just over a year I've only been twice and paid around £400 which works out at £200 per visit. I just didn't like the gym - often too full and the equipment isn't great. The toilets are awful and smell awful. When I tried to cancel they were like dogs with a bone and would not stop aggresively pursuing me although I'd made it clear how unhappy I was. I'm so so angry and upset with this business. They hassle you mercilessly for money and sit there in their office laughing at my situation. I would say again to anyone even thinking of joining Anytime Fitness anywhere in the UK think again as the place is BAD BAD BAD. Oh, and Anytime Fitness, forget coming back to me with any 'We're sorry you didn't enjoy your time at the gym blah blah blah'. I was told in writing that in December 2023 my contract would cease on the 30/04/24. This date it turns out - I was told yesterday 7/05/24 - was the point at which I can apply to have my contract terminated?? WHAT - ARE THEY SERIOUS??? And that it would be a further 2 months until I could finally get out if this nightmare. It Looks to me that the business is building up a good amount of very negative reviews and won't last long anyway. And another point people....don't be fooled by the positive reviews.....they are easy enough to spot. Good riddance to you and if you want anymore payments take me to court!
Negative experience: Took off work early to meet for a booked showing at 5pm and staff member didn't turn up. Waited outside for an hour. Wouldn't recommend highly.

Negative experience: DO NOT SIGN UP TO THIS GYM!! One of the worst gyms have ever had the pleasure of visiting. And being members of. We joined this gym as it was close to our house. The guy that signed us up was very nice and told us that we would be on what was called a rolling contract that we could cancel at any time after six months. So six month rolling contract. We finish this in March 2023.When this six month contract finished. I carried on paying for the gym, even though we had not been using it for months before I cancelled as we have moved overseas. Because of this, I decided to cancel my direct debit . As soon as I did this, I was bombarded with text messages and emails telling me that I owed the Gym money I replied back two weeks after Cancelling the direct debit to say that we were leaving the gym and we didn’t owe any money because the guy that signed us up had told us, we could cancel it any time after six months . Apparently, according to Adam, this is not true. So we were misled when signing the contract. However Every day after cancelling my direct debit and telling the Gym that myself and my partner had left. They did not accept our emails for cancelling Membership and carried on running up our monthly fees until we both owed enough money to be sent to the debt collection Agency . Very stupid thing to do, And also illegal…And No judge in this world will side with a corrupt Gym, and that’s exactly what they are.. I really don’t think you’re gonna get away with this when it goes to court.I’ve been on the phone to the debt collection agency. And I’m asking them for their financial department so I can send my Court paperwork to. Looking at all your reviews, it seems like you have done this with many other people . You’ve now messed with the wrong person and my legal team is now taking this over and going to be Taking out action against your Gym for harassment, and the illegal, passing over of debt with demanding money with menaces. As that, basically what you do when someone try’s to leave the contract at your gym. We have all the evidence on email and two witnesses that allowed me to sign two contracts and pay for two direct debits from my bank account. And two people witnessed this…. You really should’ve just let this one go!. I will be filing legal action against yourselves and the debt agency, and I’m also reaching out to all the people that you have done this to in the reviews for your gym. And I’m going to compile a huge dossier of evidence against you! And make this my personal priority. I’m also going to get the money back for the other people. You’ve also ripped off as well in court. The manager that works in Reception seems to think he’s some Sort of Lord of the gym. And that he has some sort of power to force people To pay for a gym Membership they do not use with misleading contracts and Bullying Demands for money! Well, the man that signed us up isn’t working for your gym anymore. So I’d love to see what really happens when this goes to court and he has to be called forward! As I will suing you for damages. Using misleading tactics with contracts and bullying demands for money. And I’m going to prove that what you have done is totally Illegal. Negative experience: AVOID!!! If I could give it a zero I would! Joined the gym over a year ago with my partner, signed up with a different member of staff, said that the contract wasn’t rolling and could cancel at any time. Went over the 6 month contract and we stopped using the gym and then cancelled the membership like the staff member who signed us up said! As we were only staying in the country for a year at most so we didn’t want to be tied into anything this is why this plan suited us. When we cancelled the gym would not have any of it and would not accept out cancellation. It seemed that the manager would not take no for an answer and used bullying tactics and harassment and now during a cost of living crisis, has passed my details on to a debt company who are now chasing us for money even though we did not even use the gym!!! You just wouldn’t accept our cancellation! How do you even sleep at night causing people stress! I can only address the staff here and there is only one face you see as a BULLY! The gym is absolutely filthy the toilets are always blocked and never clean with only ever one working and you literally go in there any feel dirty before starting a work out, the lockers are also way to small and my partner cut his finger on this locker . You said you was making a change? But never did? Maybe because you are more focused at trying to get working people into debt???sorry but why are you forcing it so much to cause people difficulty… seems very strange why you would go out your way so much considering after about 10 emails in each one I’ve put in writing that I have cancelled!!! Also not to forget to mention that when I joined the gym for the first few months my fob was not working, I spoke to the guy who signed me up who was great at the time (shame he left, but no shock why) he said that someone had double joined under my fob at another location which shouldn’t have been allowed and he even then said something dodgey was going on…. Shame on you and I will see you in court as I don’t tolerate bullying or harassment! It seems this harassment has gone on for 3 years by reading previous reviews!!!!

Negative experience: Future members beware. Do not go by the paid reviews. Horrible gym, horrible service. Dirty, bad ventilation, and poor upkeep. Too many members and small space, its definitely not worth the money. The customer service from Adam is beyond abhorrent, I honestly fail to see how in spite of all the complaints this guy still has his job. There are better gyms in the area, with more professional staff. Under no circumstance should you sign the contract, its a trap. They will continue charging you money in spite of your contract running out and explicitly being told that your membership should not be renewed. Others have raised similar complaints, go through the reviews online.

Fantastic experience: I am pleased to be joining AnyTime Fitness Gym. The member of staff made me feel so welcome it was like being at home. Paul who show me round the gym was very helpful and patience in explaining everything to me. And the manager Adam was also very helpful did not pressure me he took his time to explain about the membership to me.

Negative experience: The manager of this club AR needs anti racism training. Seems to have nothing better to do than harass certain people when they enter the gym, even if they are paid members. Besides this the facilities are limited.

Negative experience: For the folks currently depending on UC and in need for exercising their physical and mental well-being they don't offer any discounts. It is a shame I have to quit attending their facilities, however (travels Included) it's cheaper going somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: Excellent value. Also has a better laid out gym with traditional equipment like the Rear Deltoid and pec flyes, which 2 other local gyms didn't seem to have.
Fantastic experience: This gym has a friendly and welcoming environment where users share machines, and keep the space clean and tidy. It is very handily placed, never very busy and the staff (when the gym is manned) are there to help. Matt clearly explained all the membership options when signing up and made the whole process quick and easy.

Fantastic experience: Great local gym, conveniently located in The Spires Shopping Centre. I go 5-6 days per week and it's never overly busy in the daytime. The people who go there and the staff are all very friendly and approachable - it's not an intimidating space to train in. They keep it clean & tidy. The gym has all of the equipment you need - free weights, cable machines, cardio equipment etc. I personally haven't done classes but my friends have done body pump/yoga and say that they're good. It has a much better atmosphere than some of the other cheaper or more expensive gyms I've tried in the area.

Positive experience: The gym is on the slide. The equipment is not being maintained. Too many little broken things. Nothing is being checked regularly as it should be. Place needs a deep clean and a lick of paint. Several of the toilets have been broken for months. Only one member of staff, Adam, who appears helpful. I am writing this review as a plea for action.
Negative experience: Wow i’m truly and utterly shocked by the attitude from the manager of this gym SPENCER so uninterested, sarcastic and extremely rude. We all pay a lot of money to come here and speaking on behalf of a lot of people we feel intimidated and uncomfortable coming to work out due to the manager. I wanted to speak to somebody higher in the business but SPENCER wouldn’t give me anybody else’s contact details he said “I can only complain to him as he is charge” Please can somebody help me out I can’t find a number for head office or anybody higher anywhere?
So we only have one Aliya at our club who was in today and we spoke with her at length. She stated she did not leave this review nor did the account of the incident happen to her. We are happy to discuss any members issue but we have procedures we follow that are always explained to members.

So many of the staff are lovely but presently the gym has been neglected it also needs a very deep clean and a lot of equipment needs to be replaced I spoke to Spencer the manager about the cold and dampness in the gym and studio , he wasn’t interested in helping and had a sarcastic rude and condescending attitude Not happy at all
Hello Anna, With regards this we sat down and explained our position on the air con. It is set to recommended industry requirement's and all of this was explained to you on each of your complaint's you made. So we were helpful and explained despite that you kept interrupting and did not want to listen to the explanation. But if you would like to discuss again in club we are more than happy too.
Fantastic experience: A nice place for training and social
Positive experience: Decent, not too busy most of the time. However no ventilation, no open windows, fans, air con etc. Especially bad when using treadmills.
Negative experience: The two men working there are miserable, rude and uninterested. Would NOT recommend anybody.
Negative experience: Extremely poor customer service. Signed up for a trial session and waited outside for 10 minutes because the receptionist, Adam wasn’t there. He was very rude and I ended up not getting a membership.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been using this gym since 2016 and it’s had its ups and downs but since the latest management changes things have massively improved. Gym gets frequently tidied by all staff during their working hours, I’ve seen the machines being deep cleaned which is a great sign post covid. Any defects are sorted quickly and the PTs are great . I’m currently training with adam who is very professional, knowledgeable and enthusiastic instructor. All in all a great turn around.
Hello Chris, Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that this is the experience you have had. We look that all our members have a great experience at the gym. The clock in question actually broke but we always had the other just further up for members to view. We have spent quite a bit on repairs recently having works done in the shower rooms etc and we have plans for more works, we are just analysing the business at this point to see what could best be done. Negative experience: The gym membership is forced upon you they don’t tell you when signing on. They expect you to keep on paying for a whole year. The customer care is lacking I would not recommend
Hello, When you join the membership agreement is signed and emailed for every member to review. We are completely transparent with this. So it is there for you to review to continue with the membership. If you have any problems we are always happy to discuss in club.
Negative experience: I started this gym when they first begun in the Spires after leaving what was LA Fitness. I went very sporadically to be honest but in the last year since really reopening again after COVID, very little has been done to improve the gym and although Claude does his best but I don’t feel he is supported by efficient staff. I have had countless conversations over the phone and in person with the Barnet gym since June to cancel my membership. We finally got there 6 weeks later but I still get payment reminder emails from Anytime fitness even though my membership finished in June!? 20 years ago I would have understood such admin issues but not now. If it’s a franchise then the current owner really needs to spend some money on new equipment as was promised to members almost two years ago. I am trying a new gym in New barnet now so fingers crossed that place stays on top of things.

Negative experience: Used to attend regularly until covid with both my parents who were members, they kept their membership going to support the Branch but unfortunately we’re not able to return straight after lock down. We emailed and called repeatedly to have the their membership put on hold, and even the the payment was taken and never refunded. Funnily enough I’m a member at the Welwyn branch and have never had issues like this.
Fantastic experience: Decent gym, clean and fairly spacious. Worth the money.

Positive experience: Not a big fan, my big problem was cleanliness. Even during covid the watered-down cleaning products provided was mostly water. And you had sweat and splatter on most equipment
Negative experience: I canceled my contract two months ago, but today they withdrew money from my bank account without my permission, and when I called them saying they were too busy and it was better to send an email, I sent them two emails but got no response. , Management and customer service is very weak
Negative experience: Is your policy to harass members who cancel? My wife cancelled her Barnet membership back in may, is still continually being chased with texts & emails for payment, despite cancelling repeatedly. Now being chased by a credit agency. Infuriating company that ignores repeated communications
Negative experience: Air-cone in their very very small class room not worked for last 3 weeks! The room is small and still they put all the spinning bikes in their - dangerous health and safety issues. Hardly any classes on Sunday! Only reason I am still a member is I love the body pump trainer. They say they have staff from 10am - no staff their at 12pm to be seen on Saturday! Would be great is someone in the place cared replied back to emails! For the price they charge is chocking how little they invest!
Negative experience: Signed up for this Anytime Fitness gym at the start of the second lockdown after wanting to change from my existing gym and ended up cancelling due to not going and having the time after several months of being there. Took me at least two weeks to cancel the membership as it was a struggle to get in contact with the gym staff, which was shocking. I both called and emailed but nothing. Over the weekend, I received a text message saying my account is in arrears. Around two months after, I have cancelled. Absolutely shocking communication from the staff at Barnet Anytime Fitness. I received nothing about this when I cancelled my membership from whom the lady staff member I spoke to at all. It seems that other people have also been having this issue with one person having a debt collection agency being targeted towards them because they have been miss communicated. This is awful. This is not only shocking communication from the team at the gym but is massively un-professional, considering this kind of thing can affect credit scores for everyone, which is really bad. Beyond furious. I will be taking this further... I would not recommend this gym at all.
Fantastic experience: I had a great first time experience at Anytme Fitness gym today. Varied excellent facilities and very friendly and professional staff, highly recommended!
Fantastic experience: It's got much busier since reopening doesn't seem to make a difference what time you go. People have been locked away and clearly need it

Fantastic experience: The new refurb is amazing and the atmosphere is great inside the gym. The manager is super friendly and helpful. Very clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend to others.

Negative experience: AVOID Anytime Fitness at all costs! I used to be a member of Anytime Fitness in High Barnet, North London but I cancelled my membership in May 2020. I had fulfilled my 1 year contract so I sent them an email explaining I was cancelling and then cancelled my direct debit with my bank. I got a call a couple of days later from the club confirming my cancellation and I was confident that was the end of it and that I didn't owe any money to the gym. Then in Sept 2020 I get an email and a text saying that the club had tried to contact me several times (they had not) and that I still owed them £36 and now they had passed me onto a debt collector. They went onto write that I was unable to contact them or pay directly to them and all dealings were now with the debt collectors. Initially I felt bad for the gym so I paid a couple of months during lockdown but this wasn't appreciated so I cancelled because I was paying for a service I couldn't use and I didn't know when they would reopen again and then they have the audacity to pass my name onto the debt collectors! Its fraud and they are stealing!

Fantastic experience: My local gum, open 24/7, has showers. I mostly use free weights and don't visit during the rush hour, so I'm super happy. Also recently started to visit the classes! Wow, super happy with Pilates by Lydia
Negative experience: Tried going on last saturday evening about 6pm No one opened the door and there was no lift either.pathetic.i was thinking of joining not sure now.specailly since they cant be bloody bothered to open the door even.

Fantastic experience: This place is great! Nice space with all the equipment you'll need, fair prices for whats included, and a super friendly and helpful staff! I am doing the P.H.U.L. workout plan and they have all the equipment needed for that program and more. In terms of cardio, they have treadmills, bikes, elliptical machines, and row machines. Plus, there is spacious bathroom with showers and a studio!
Positive experience: Great gym, very helpful staff. It is not so busy even in the busiest time. Space is not that big for what it is so the machines and equipments are quite close to each other.
Negative experience: bad place never I would be in there staff rude people bad I hate it

Positive experience: Great gym, not the cheapest in the neighborhood, but that's the reason is not always packed! Machines are good, it's not too stifled, and the staff is really good too!
