Fantastic experience: Nice clean pool, and they still got the frog slide from when I was a kid in the 90's!

Fantastic experience: Excellent atmosphere, staff are welcoming very friendly and helpful and warm.

Negative experience: The kids swimming lessons are the worst. Save your money and take your kids somewhere else. Also they are using a third party direct debit company which is one the worst I've seen. The facilities aren't that impressive either. AVOID for kids swimming lessons !!!

Negative experience: Awful swimming lessons for kids. Take your kids somewhere else. Not the mention all the cancellations. Also they work with DFC for direct debit payments which is one of the worst companies. AVOID !!!

Fantastic experience: This is the 90th pool swam in the year within M25..it rates well in top twenty...sadily poor public transport makes it difficult to get too

Negative experience: Have three kids going for swimming lessons and they always sending cancellations emails. They lack swimming teachers yet they take their money every month with hesitation. I called my bank to cancelled my direct debit with them as they keep cancelling their lessons yet they taking the money. Now they send additional £15 on each child’s account for me to pay because they couldn’t take the direct debit. These people are horrible. If you want your kids to enjoy their swimming lessons without unnecessary cancellation, then avoid this place.

Negative experience: Played a round of golf and came off at 6:45 to be told we can't buy a bottle of beer because the tills are off when it states it closes at 7pm. The way the "manager conducted himself is disgusting we would of been out of there by 7 and plus we was sitting outside. Re thinking my membership. Top top it off the fella said you can go to the shop to get one!

Positive experience: We have been a member for 7 years but they don't give us any discount and moreover they keep increasing the yearly rates. No sauna or steam and can't use swimming unless you book them in ahead. Very few gym equipment. Only for convenience but good gym or class trainers. They are really good.

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to share a really positive experience we have recently had with Mary (memberships). I recently signed my daughter up but she has been so ill and so couldn’t attend her induction. Mary was so kind and went out of her way to find an alternative date for us and accommodate us never though I know she is so busy. I also mentioned to Mary that the junior gym slots look over run and there do not appear to be many spaces and instead of fobbing me off she said she also has seen this and will see what she can get done her end. Mary you’ve been amazing and we look forward to ruby attending the junior gyms. Nice to know there is still some fantastic customer service around x

Negative experience: Massively disappointed, clubhouse weren’t allowing me to have my shirt off while others can, i have a big scar on my chest and I have to prevent it getting hot or infected. Never coming back!

Fantastic experience: Been going for a month now. I've only used the gym so can't say much about the swimming but I've had no issues. All equipment needed is there and I quite like that it is never busy so is to use what you want without having to wait for it to be free. Staff have been friendly and helpful.

Positive experience: Just wanted to get a price for gym membership but the phone is rarely answered and when it is, you never get a straight answer. Actually popped in but was just told to book an appointment with the membership manager. All I wanted was a straight basic price.

Negative experience: Can’t retain swim teachers now recruit any! My kids started swimming pre-covid and we’re doing great. Since then they have seen a sea of different teachers. My youngests teacher was there less than she actually was in, that was till she finally quit. He then waited 7 months for a new teacher, gets in the pool, 3 lessons later this one quits. Similar with my eldests, yet we are still getting charged for lessons. Told by management to come to them for issues, yet, ‘they’re in a meeting’ or ‘not in today’ when they clearly are and telling reception staff to pass this message. Ok I’ll email then….nope nothing. Charging erratic amounts for lessons that are cancelled, then freezing direct debits which then try to pay you a penalty for you who freezes it. Thinking of going private to ensure my kids can actually get some consistency with their swimming. My eldest last lesson he was told he could go up a stage, teacher leaves and doesn’t fill it in….nope you can’t go up as he didn’t tick the one box. Shambles, I don’t know how you can afford to stay in business, the fact you’re unable to recruit or retain anyone shows you need to review your business model.

Negative experience: Swimming school at Belhus is a big misunderstanding. Classes are constantly cancelled therefore children cannot improve their swimming skills. I don't recommend neither classes or gym to nobody.

Fantastic experience: Nice and peaceful place to workout has a driving rage, gof course and two swimming polls Staff are friendly, supportive and knowledgeable

Negative experience: Approach roads inside Belhus Park nearly killed my suspension . Staff seemed to be socialisng with each other & I felt like I was interrupting them . SO LEFT WITHOUT TRYING TO GET FIT . Want my feed back that is it !!!

Positive experience: Been swimming here now for a few weeks and have become a member. Easy to book sessions on the app. Some problems at the beginning but issues have been resolved and makes the experience a lot more enjoyable. Lots of parking. Take own padlock for locker. Most staff are very friendly and helpful. 1 star short for cleanliness in changing rooms. Lots of flys and not regularly cleaned well.

Negative experience: Swimming lessons are cancelled nearly every week. Not only that but those moving to another stage have to wait ages because there are no spaces, my son had to wait for over a month to move stage. Staff are rude and not helpful at all…oh and toilets are filthy. Avoid at all costs!!

Negative experience: Changing room was dirty…, informed Daniel Halsey Duty Manager, he told me … “if you don’t like, then just don’t go” . .. also he’s been so rude with me, when I asked about booking for my kids to swimming pool…, will cancel my membership there ….

Negative experience: I went to the reception to ask more information about my son swimming lessons,it is register and on a waiting list and the staff that was present there was very rude. I don't understand why it is so hard to be polite. Really disappointed!

Positive experience: Nice pool area. Yet to see the rest of the centre but it appears to have been recently renovated as quite modern looking and clean. Staff could be a little more attentive and professional however as noted a couple of incidents that could have been handled better.

Positive experience: We only use it for swimming so I can not comment on the other services. The changing rooms are clean and moderately maintained. They as expected can get quite wet and it varies if they are clean. The app for booking swimming with kids is painful and you have to ring. It can take a lot of rings to get through. We did finally get through and were told to use the app but the app says to ring so was fun....but got sorted. The kids swimming pool is small but it does what is needed. Overall I would recommend coming here.

Negative experience: Course in pretty poor condition, not worth paying £20 a round for. Silly booking system where you have to name every player.

Fantastic experience: Belhus is a great place to be a member. Could fo with a refurb or some better gym equipment but then that's out their hands. Shame the whole place couldn't be extended to make better. Membership reasonable and the swimming pool is fine. The swimming lessons are great value if your child is a member.

Fantastic experience: My experience with Belhus park is 50-50, some of the staff members are super friendly and helpful but some are quite opposite. Place is nice and clean. Parking is not a problem, beautiful park outside if you want to wak or play with kids. Location is bit too inside and no path for pushchairs. You have to use main road to walk if you have a push chair or wheelchair.

Fantastic experience: Loved it, booked a session online after finishing my work, swim for an hour and went home happy and tired) clean and nice place.

Negative experience: Waste of time. £45 a month each for a membership and the swimming pool is fully booked. So I've had to pay to go elsewhere.

Negative experience: Swim lessons for kids are always cancelled but the direct debits are always taken. You don’t get a refund of the cancelled lesson. And when your child’s been moved up....you have to moan so many times before they move your child up. Teachers don’t get into to the pool with first time swimmers, just instruct the kids what they have to do....if this swimming was not Near me, I would definitely not bring my child to impulse Aveley. The male staff are rude and never do they answer their phone.

Positive experience: I really love it that you can shower properly. The water is just that bit warmer than in the other leisure pools which makes it so much more pleasant for those that can't swim fast due to disability or physical problems. The only problem is the design with the steps before you enter the pool: people using walking frames or wheelchairs can't use them and those needing the hoist have to go a very long way round.

Positive experience: All is great except when we have to pay for slide and we are not using it at all. Sometimes is really cold in dressing room after swimming.

Negative experience: I have called their number 26 times in the last three weeks, and they have never answered. I was standing at reception while phoning them.... Still never answered. I wrote the review this time because I have been calling since 2pm to go to the driving range to spend some of the 1000 balls I bought from them. before the Christmas madness... No answer. If you want a manager that can bring this place up to standard, let me know.

Negative experience: Gym equipment is good. Music played is rubbish and more suited to sitting at home with your slippers on than working out!

Negative experience: They really more reception staff or keep a separate queue for member to quickly swipe and go. The showers need to be self cleaning as they are dirty. The pool also needs to cleaned thoroughly as there debris during peak times. Let's not forget the potholes in the car park.

Negative experience: Lovely place my only issue is the swimming changing rooms, its very hot and theres alot of disgusting flies. It made me feel a bit sick to see so many bugs, please get this sorted if possible as its a beautiful place.

Positive experience: A small and basic gym that comes with a hefty monthly price. If you are only using the gym, the membership is not worth it as this gym lacks a lot of standard equipment. However, the gym is often quite quiet and the staff are friendly. It's a shame as this would be quite a good location for those who can't travel to Lakeside for gyms that don't require a long contract and have lots of machines.
