Negative experience: guys please keep an eye on the cleaners the sauna is very smelly and filthy sweat stains tissues bottles etc all over the place specially under the bench the sauna definitely need a deep cleaning which has not been done for years i believe the shower rooms are filthy and the walls are also full of stains a good hygiene standard is very important thank you.

Negative experience: SCAM. I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for three months. Every time I call it’s nearly impossible to get through to someone. I have been in contact over five times and been told that my membership has been cancelled and I’m still being charged.

Negative experience: Terrible gym. Half the equipment doesn’t work. Music is painfully loud and they don’t turn it down after several request. Staff don’t reply to emails.

Negative experience: First time here the other day. Walked in and was yelled at by a rude man to just “hurry up and get in I’m trying to do my damn job and you’re just standing there”. I wanted to ask where I put in my PIN and how to get a fob but didn’t even bother. Instructor was late for a class. Definitely do not recommend. My group of friends were going to attend but I’ve told them to go elsewhere. EDIT: they have also tried to take payment twice in a month for membership, one every 10 days. I’ve seen other reviews below also stating this! Honestly not one single good thing I can say about this place.

Negative experience: Awful gym, be prepared to get bothered by PTs at and given moment, even go as far as interrupting you mid workout/set. Equipment is poor also given the fees

Negative experience: I was given misinformation about the membership payment so when I was told I still need to pay for one month extra, I contacted with the manager and agreed with a refund. But now it’s been over a months I still haven’t seen my refund and when I emailed the manager again, I did not get any reply back and I do not appreciate this type of behaviour.

Negative experience: Staff are very groupy and only chat with and say hello to people they know! Terrible! I have been managing gyms as my own career for several years, and it is known within management that the biggest reason for people leaving gyms are due to social reasons! People want to be spoken to and to be made to feel welcomed! I addressed this with the manager and he literally said to me "they don't have to say hello." Wow! What a joke! I have been coming to this gym for 3 years! And they've just lost a long time member. The staff from before were much better. Shout out to Ford - he's one of the PT's still there from the old team and is literally the only staff remaining who is friendly and says hello. The others know nothing about member retention or customer service, they are just there to pass time. Terrible customer service. Cancelled membership and won't ever return.

Negative experience: I like the facilities and the PTs seem knowledgable. It’s rarely super busy so I can usually get the equipment I need without wait. Weights go back in the right place and generally there aren’t too many hoarders. However of the 20 or so times I have tried to go at 6am in the last year it has been shut 5 of those times - they are not good odds. I have only ever had dismissive responses when I have complained, if I get any response at all. The lack of reliability is probably going to push me to join another local gym instead, which is a real shame.

Fantastic experience: A very clean gym,the staff and personal trainers are great and friendly. Great facilities and not crowded. GURAY is such a amazing Personal Trainer he is fantastic when you need to get back into shape, he listens and has great advice and knowledge for each individual's body. Would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to tone up, lose weight or just to keep healthy. He is equipped with all the knowledge and gear to help you reach your goal. He tailors the workouts based on your requirements.

Fantastic experience: Good place to come and lift some weights. Bought a day pass and there was no hassle with bureaucracy; I just paid the fee and entered. Not crowded at all, and the equipment is in good condition. I would come here again.

Negative experience: decent place but a bit scammy, they ask you to pay an extra month once you leave because you need to give them a 30 day notice period...

Positive experience: This is a great gym, good facilities well organized. A recent influx of students however have made the gym messier and more dangerous than it perhaps needs to be, it'd be nice to see more people tidying up weights and being aware of people using machinery dangerously or using the gym in a generally disruptive/disrespectful way.

Negative experience: The rudest, most ignorant and unfriendly gym staff ever. I have been a member here for about a year, and it still amazes me, that non of the employees have ever greeted me, but not only that, they have never accepted my greeting ether. I have been going to gyms for the last twenty years, in different countries, and I used to work as an instructor in my twenties as well. I can honestly tell, this is the unfriendliest gym I heave been to. The most of them seem quite fit, and they are very happy showing off their bodies, but a smile, eye contact, and maybe a sly "hello", have never happened...
Negative experience: Cleanliness is bad - you can smell the stench when you enter the toilet right away. Also asked for invoices numerous times via email but the manager ignored, only responded when I called. And shockingly doesnt provide invoices.

Negative experience: I signed up to a deal that promised 3 months for £9.99 per month. 2 payments of £9.99 were taken out as expected. I then cancelled my membership as they required 1 month notice before leaving. The website told me that my membership had been cancelled and the final payment of £9.99 will be taken out in a few weeks. However, the third payment was £29.99 instead! I called to ask why and the manager told me the 'website was wrong' and offered no further explanation or refund. Management very uncooperative. I will never join a gym run by this company again.

Negative experience: I signed in for 9.99 a month but they started to take 29.99 from my account without notifying me. I called them many times and left voicemail but they did not respond. Now that I had to cancel my direct debit and they are asking me to pay another 29.99 to cancel my membership. Finally today they answered my call but they guy was quite rude on the phone, without discussing this with me he was very rude and said I have to pay 29.99 or it will affect my credit score etc, I feel I have been completely mislead.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, good equipment, lots of space. The only problem is there is no ventilation. There are large windows and doors which should be opened. We now know that the spread of covid is by air and ventilation is much more important than wiping down surfaces. Opening a few windows and doors is much cheaper too! I will feel much more comfortable continuing to come as cases rise, if this is changed.

Negative experience: Terrible. You can't book slots because their app doesn't work, so you need to ring up to book a slot every single time, then they get confused when you arrive. Billed me for an additional month even though I cancelled ages in advance and had paid an additional month upfront and they sent me a threatening email from a debt collection company
Hi Katie, I cannot find a membership for you at my Borough branch. We do not have any booking issues with our app as hundreds of members use it daily. Plus all our staff are trained to help you with the booking process. What branch are you a member of
Positive experience: Nice and helpful Staff. Be careful if you want to cancel your membership they might charge you without even knowing.
Fantastic experience: The gym is very spacious and sectioned off so it's safe and you have your own space. They have an amazing array of different workout equipment and machines to use, the staff and personal trainers are all very welcoming and create such a friendly and inviting atmosphere. And how the sauna has reopened so that's an added bonus! 10/10 would recommend to people of all capabilities, if you're a gym enthusiast or a beginner trying to start your work out journey, and they're are so many amazing personal trainers at your disposal your really can't go wrong!

PTs are all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and customers are also friendly and polite, always putting weights back and cleaning after use. Gym equipment is great - clean and in good condition, and the gym also has a large frame which is really useful for pull-ups, chin-ups etc

Negative experience: The gym charged me additional 1 month membership although I don't use it due to Covid 19 - but this is NOT THE POINT OF THIS REVIEW. This review is on how the manager, Marcin, dealt with the situation. He did not remain professional and even hung up on me after I mentioned that I will leave a honest review on social media. He told me to deal with their debt collection company (Harlands) and pay the admin £20 + outstanding membership fee £22.99 if I were to write a review. His threatening behaviour is not acceptable. Every customer is entitled to write an honest review about the business they deal with. The shower facility leaves a lot to be improved as well - when I frequent the premise, I wrote 2 emails and 1 suggestion card to suggest the installation of rubber mat in shower area but never receive any response. The dirty shower water and urine from the next shower stall will just flow past your foot. This is a hard time for everyone - and it truly show the best and the worst of human behaviour. The facilities are acceptable. 2 stars. Update - Respond to the management's reply: Perfect example of them not listening - I did not "call them dogs". I asked if not reviewing them is the only way they would "call off the dogs" - an idiom which obviously went over their heads. only if they spend as much time in school as they did gym. Also, regarding the rubber mat, no one can prevent other people's urine/dirty shower water from running past another's feet except the gym management - the mats will become not sanitary and would collect bacteria IF YOU DO NOT CLEAN THEM REGULARLY, similar to all the gym equipment. How can the customer rely on the management to sanitize the premise if they cannot even lay down simple rubber mattings?
Hi Chen, we are very sorry that you feel that we only deserve 2 stars. However, we will not accommodate your aggressive tone & foul language over the phone. Being called dogs is not appropriate and any caller who uses that type of language will be disconnected. We will never be blackmailed into changing our rules for a positive review. We have given you an option to pay for your notice without any admin fee (which is due under the T&C's that you have agreed to when joining) and you have decided to cancel your Direct Debit instead without paying your balance. Our showers do not require rubber mats which are not sanitary and would collect bacteria. We have seperate toilets for you to urinate in.

Hi Lorenzo, you did not make any payments during covid lockdown & you froze your membership online once we reopened. Your membership type has a one months notice period to cancel so unfortunately this is standard and not a scam. A payment was taken this month as you froze your membership online and chose to end your freeze the day before your next payment was due. I know this is not what you were hoping to hear but this was explained to you on the phone earlier and is normal for this type of membership, so you have not overpaid as you requested to cancel your membership. You were also offered a refund for the unexpected collection in August which you declined as you opted cancel instead. We hope you enjoyed the gym while you were here and continue to stay safe during this time

Fantastic experience: literally one of the best gyms around because of their customer service! It feels like a family here, everyone is so friendly and they sure go out their way to help you ! Styles and Dee is probably the friendliest people you will ever meet!
Fantastic experience: I was a member of the Borough gym. It has a good selection of free weights, cardio machines, kettlebells, TRX, pull up bars and a studio. The instructors are helpful and crowd decent. Only drawback is the mens changing room gets very cramped during peak hours.

Negative experience: Signed up for a 1 day pass with a view to joining and received email to go to gym with pass to try it out. Abs (one of the staff) told me that I wouldn't be able to use the gym even with the pass and tried to charge me £7 for the day. I've decided not to join. Looking at reviews online, it looks like they make cancellation mega difficult and have a reputation for overbilling. Looks like I dodged a bullet here

Positive experience: Basic gym, with decent amount of equipment. My main complaint has to be the changing rooms. The bench area is absolutely tiny and even at quiet times sometimes you don't have anywhere to sit. Quite pathetic to be honest
Negative experience: Gym is great staff is friendly until u get a personal trainer. I got a personal trainer, constantly late up to an hour. Cancel on the spot frequently, doesn’t show up to lessons when you have booked with them way in advance. Unprofessional. Forcing u to come to sessions when u told them you have other important priorities. became extremely rude and Didn’t bother even turning up to session because I didn’t want to book again. Claims I have finished the sessions when I haven’t. Became very rude with Personal attack when I asked for the money back. That’s my money donated to ‘charity’. But overall the gym is ok staff is always friendly to help

Fantastic experience: The boxing class lead by will is amazing his teaching style is fun and interactive we never fail to laugh and at the same time the workouts are intense and help you gain a higher level of fitness. His knowledge is detailed and professional. One of my favourite gym instructors amd classes !!

Fantastic experience: Great local gym in Southwark! It even has a sauna. Professional and friendly instructors who love fitness. If you do calisthenics there are proper bars for Your practice. Love the vibe. You don't need to pay 9 times the price for third space!

Positive experience: Good gym, spacious and good value for money. My only concern was that changing rooms/toilets were always dirty and never enough soap in the dispensers. Regular cleaning checks would improve this.

Negative experience: A disappointment. I joined the gym as it is close to work as it was recommended by a colleague and it opened at 6am and there's nothing wrong with the gym or the equipment whatsoever. Staffing is the problem. On my first day, a member of staff was outside smoking a cigarette (great advert for a personal trainer) and then was rude to me and treated me like an idiot because I wasn't sure how to access the gym (I was using the wrong finger to enter!) to the extent I questioned why I had joined to be spoken to in this way. When I went to leave I also had trouble leaving and the same person just laughed, I thought first day teething troubles and put it behind me, but a weird experience! First day impression was fairly terrible. To add insult to injury the showers were not working. Next day, I turned up at 6am only to find the place in complete darkness and customers waiting outside complaining. Conversation went "this happens all the time" - it gave me no confidence. 6:30am I gave up and a days training ruined. Southwark is not the place to be standing outside in the dark at 6am in the winter. Thank goodness Pure Gym in Waterloo has opened, never looked back with regret at leaving this place.
I have tried to find your membership & we no record of Myrna Loy on our system, although I did enjoy her performance in The Thin Man. At Energie Fitness Borough we provide excellent customer in an award winning facility.
