Our comment from FitFit UK about New Chiswick Pool:
New Chiswick Pool is a welcoming recreational center located in London, featuring a variety of facilities aimed at fostering a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere for all its visitors. Guests have positively noted the helpful and friendly staff, particularly acknowledging individuals who provide exceptional customer service. Many describe it as a hidden gem in Chiswick, with particular praise for the cleanliness of the pool and the supportive environment for swimming lessons.
Despite some limitations in terms of swimming hours, especially on weekends, the center aims to cater to families while also providing quality facilities for individuals. Many users appreciate the affordable prices and clean gym amenities, making it accessible for most visitors. The gym area itself is noted for being well-equipped and generally well-maintained.
However, concerns have been raised around pool cleaning and hygiene, with reviews mentioning the need for better maintenance and addressing issues such as overcrowding during peak hours. The timetable restrictions have also attracted criticism, particularly regarding lane swimming availability. Furthermore, some users have expressed dissatisfaction with customer service experiences during cancellation processes and an inconsistent response to complaints.
In summary, New Chiswick Pool is a pleasant place for fitness and leisure, offering good facilities, a friendly atmosphere, and a strong community vibe, though certain operational aspects may require improvement to enhance overall visitor satisfaction.

New Chiswick Pool: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Great centre, staff couldn’t be nicer, makes a nice change to find a place like this!
Fantastic experience: Wonderful place and the staff are very helpful!
Fantastic experience: This is one of Chiswicks hidden gems. A really friendly gym, tucked away by Chiswick house. The reception staff were so knowledgable and made me feel very welcome. The tour was great thanks James five stars for customer service and the pool is very clean
Negative experience: Gym: Small but functional Sauna/Steamroom: Capacity of 6 people Pool/swim: (Not happening) *Mon 2.5hrs late night *Tue 0.5hrs late night *Wed 1.75hrs late night *Thu 2hrs late night *Fri 0.5hrs late night *Sat Lol *Sun Lol
Negative experience: Not good not that much bad, always busy and awful shower and bathroom not clean at all.
Fantastic experience: Really nice place, shout out to James who is the sales manager, very professional and a straight up guy!
Negative experience: You aren't allowed in the pool at the weekend, unless it's between 8-9am. At 9am, staff kick everyone out so the pool can be used be families with kids for the rest of the day. How is this fair? Especially to members who are paying for full membership. You can imagine how packed out the pool gets between 8 and 9am because of this unfair rule. During my last visit, I had to leave the pool after 10 minutes because there were 8 people in my lane, all swimming at different speeds, which made it impossible to swim properly. It's also a health and safety hazard, but staff don't seem to care about overcrowding. I think management should be more considerate of the fact not all of us work from home, or live near the pool, so weekend swimming is the only feasible option for some pool users.
Negative experience: The pool water is not safe to swim; the water is full of debris, containing bunch of hairs, particals of floats and clothes. I even pulled out strings of plastic rope out of water! It is not possible to have some many debris in the water unless the rubbish is swept into the pool. I once saw one of the staff washed the floor and pushed the dirty water into the pool while we were in the pool.
Positive experience: Limited general swimming
Negative experience: I don’t recommend this place!! Very poorly managed…very dirty inside everywhere ( pool area, shower rooms and toilets are filthy). They are so nice when they convince you to have a membership but when it comes to issues you raise, you get treated bad as they turn the blind eye. They don’t call or email members to say services are closed for whatever health and safety reason they find but no they wait till you show up and drive all the way to there to inform you that the pool is not working or any other service. We cancelled our memberships for 5 of us. What a waste of money! Oh and also, they charge you one full EXTRA MONTH for each person cancelling their membership as this is what they call it policy ( they don’t mention it to you when you sign up ). Avoid this place at all costs! The fake reviews of staff friends and family are really funny and if you believe it then go get scammed yourself at this place!
Negative experience: staff don't know what they're doing, allowing men in during women's only swim (he was not told it was women's only so not his fault). no clear timetable online. dodgy refund system
Negative experience: Very disappointing structure for this learning to swim... children are not grouped as per their abilities which puts off kids from going back to pool.
Fantastic experience: Excellent !
Fantastic experience: Love it. Perhaps I went on a calm day. But it was during school holidays and it was still very nice and calm. Nice small facilities but room for everyone.
Positive experience: Nice please
Positive experience: Single pool. Great teachers for kids, good progress
Fantastic experience: Really friendly clean and good facilities
Fantastic experience: Great gym. Great staff. Great atmosphere. Overall 5/5
Fantastic experience: Not too busy, and warm.
Fantastic experience: Warm ,lovely, clean and reasonable price
Fantastic experience: excellent
Positive experience: Run of the mill community gym.
Fantastic experience: I'm a big fan of this place, except when fusion had it! But now it's gone back in house, it's brilliant. And the hard working staff are fantastic as well, so all round a big thumbs up from me.
Fantastic experience: Just want to say thank you to Tia who has a lovely way about her and very knowledgeable and helpful. You are an asset to your team. The changing rooms, pool and steam room / sauna were all clean enough and well maintained. Only annoying thing is pool timetable is quite limiting.
Fantastic experience: Awsome place
Negative experience: very cold pool, I registered my baby for swimming classes but I really regret that!!
Negative experience: Avoid at any cost.. as many people wrote in reviews - they are trying to falsely use the T&C to trick members and charge extra. I have been trying to understand the logic (which doesn’t work from legal language perspective) of their cancellation policy and the fact that they are charging one full month on top of the direct debited freeze charge, and though after 3 months they acknowledged that the wording in T&C is misleading, I didn’t get my wrongly charged money back and I decided to give up. So much stress and anxiety this situation and the management have caused me - definitely not worth it. Extremely disappointed.
Negative experience: Still shocked when I think of my experience with her tbh, it's almost comical. I joined and cancelled within 2 weeks, which their T's & C's advise gets you a full refund. I called and spoke to someone, who confirmed I would get a refund. Chased up by email, and another person said that my refund would hit my account in 1-2 weeks. After receiving verbal and email confirmation of my refund by 2 different employees, I was confident I would get the refund. They then ignored several of my emails, then said they'd chase it up with a Customer Relations Manager, then said that person was on annual leave, then ignored me some more... I honestly don't leave reviews much but I'm actually incredulous. It's not even that much money, but the more inept, and staggeringly bad at customer service, that they are, the more determined I am to get the refund? Honestly did not know that there were companies out there that acted like this lol.
Positive experience: the pool is a little small but still good. students get a discount too and you get to use the sauna. staff r nice.
Fantastic experience: Clean and tidy, friendly staff and parking is fine
Fantastic experience: Great place ,But 40 a month is expensive !
Negative experience: Deserve 0 star. They forgot to cancel my membership and kept taking money. The request of the refund is already 45 on going and i am still mailing every day, but without any success. AVOID!!!
Fantastic experience: Staff are fantastic, always kind and helpful
Fantastic experience: My children love the coach and the pool environment but mostly they feeling is cold, hily recommend
Fantastic experience: Just joined this gym. Surrinder was very helpful on reception. I was given a full tour and a break down of options. Very professional and polite. Im excited to start my fitness Journey with this Gym.
Positive experience: Pool needs cleaning but otherwise very good
Fantastic experience: Parking is a little tricky. Suitable for families and loads of baby changing areas.
Fantastic experience: Best place for swimming lessons, good teachers, amenities,
Positive experience: It's OK, a bit dated and on the small side. An old fashioned styled leisure centre
Positive experience: First time attending today, mainly for the sauna and steam room. Having taken time out from Virgin Active. Shown around by Stuart (thank you). It's a nice gym area and equipment and sauna/steam all good too! I only had two disappointments, the first being having no basic hooks to hang my towel in the spa area (hygiene) and having to put it on the only bench where everyone sits! The second is the water fountain! I wondered why people were taking so long to get water into their bottles until I tried and saw that it was literally ‘just dripping out,’ so not sure how long it has been like that. Apart from these two things, it's all good and excellent prices with the options of PAYG or monthly option which is less than £45
Fantastic experience: I attend Aqua class on Friday mornings and love it. The teacher makes it fun and his playlist is all music the class knows! Polite and helpful Reception. All i have to fo us get there with my swimsuit ready to rock 'n' roll!
Negative experience: Needs more parking spaces, parking space on the end next to bush hard to use bush needs cutting down. Reception staff not very helpful.
Positive experience: it is a great place to go swim and workout, however it would be better if they had a plyometrics area with plyometrics equipment
Fantastic experience: Lovely staff, great atmosphere and comfortable, well mantained instalations. Highly recommended gym
Positive experience: As far as public pools go this one is very well managed, great staff
Negative experience: Not clean bad customer service
Positive experience: The gym is good value with competitive pricing. It’s well equipped and generally kept pretty clean. The new management seems to be a bit more across maintenance issues although some machines still seem to stay broken for months without getting looked at. The hours are a bit restrictive: closes Saturday and Sunday at 6pm and 4pm bank holidays so may not be the best choice for people working a full week especially given some of the comments from other reviewers about the early shift. I started going there because my PT (the brilliant Asa McCormack) works out of there so I’m used to the set-up. The downsides are that the Wi-Fi hasn’t ever worked properly and 4g coverage is terrible so if you like to work out to music you’re stuck with the dreadful in-house playlist coming from their terrible speakers unless you remember to download your music beforehand. The sauna and steam room are nice but for some reason the pool is frequently closed for private lessons so always check it’s going to be open first. Changing area is ok for a municipal pool/gym. There’s no cafe. Some staff are friendly but others barely seem capable of engaging with the clients. There’s some free onsite parking which is a bonus but it seems to be shared with the shops across the street so spaces not always available. They have bike racks which is great.
Fantastic experience: Clean gym and not too busy. Friendly staff
Positive experience: Need a work out or a swim. Keep it local and support your local council. Great gym, friendly staff. Enjoy Jeff
Fantastic experience: Excellent swimming pool for children's lessons. Parking outside.
Fantastic experience: Our local swimming pool is wonderful. Hygiene is at a high level, there is a steam room, sauna and the pool is deep up to 1.85 m. Staff is quite helpful, everything runs smoothly.
Fantastic experience: Spacious and fully equipped!
Fantastic experience: I ve been with this gym for 1.5 years and like it very much. In the last time things are improving even more in every aspect especially cleaness and environment. Staff is very helpful including all fitness instructors Jardel, Chloe and Andrei who helped my out to design my future fitness journey. The guy is a library of knowledge and he is very king and opened. Kindly recommended to all my buddies. Always a pleasure to train there
Fantastic experience: Great place great staff! Been going here for about 4 years made some of my closest friends now and loving every minute of it! In terms of the staff Charlie Jardel Asa Andrei just to name a few there is more! Who have all welcomed me and kept me in good spirits and in good shape! Highly recommend the gym has everything one would need!
Fantastic experience: Great gym for training. Clean equipment, good atmosphere, The new staff including Andee is very friendly and helps me all the time. I will recommend to all my friends.
Positive experience: Nice spot. Elliptical machines need internet connection and touch screens fixed. Sauna, steam room and pool are great. Shower doors are big and glass and smash closed very loudly. Friendly and helpful staff. Membership is well priced too.
Fantastic experience: Amazing stuff, The best swimming pool in area. 5 ⭐️
Negative experience: New company managing the venue and some improvements are seen but still low quality council type venue and it is not even free everything is paid in taxes and in fees should be better
Positive experience: Well managed lovely pool rules for swim times are a bit complcated
Fantastic experience: Swimming lessons are really good in here highly recommend
Negative experience: Looking rather run down on my last visit this week. Men's toilets looked like a pubs with the toilet seat hanging on by a thread. Holes in the wall in the gym. Needs some serious tlc
Positive experience: It is a very nice place, a complete small sports centre - it has a gym, rooms for group sessions, a 25m swimming pool, sauna and a steam room. Sauna is very rare in London. Not expensive. Traditionally suffers from not working steam room. Refurbished. Requires signing forms for using the gym, which is a bit too much. Not all the staff is friendly - due to PC, I suppose.
Fantastic experience: Very enjoyable
Fantastic experience: Great pool, lovely staff!
Fantastic experience: Nice pool with lots of showers.
Fantastic experience:
Fantastic experience: Great to visit here after a great number of years away. Warm friendly welcome. Changing rooms and showers excellent. Pool great. Not crowded when I visited, until the Aquafit class started , which I joined in. It was fabulous, the guy running it was very good and everyone enjoyed. Because of this I decided to take out a monthly membership. Parking is very difficult and on this occasion I took the bus route, which is rather long winded. However, hoping to use my bicycle soon, if injuries don't exacerbate the extra exercise. Thoroughly enjoyed though.
Positive experience: Really good for the money On site parking space.
Fantastic experience: Awesome small leisure centre, really clean and staff are nice
Negative experience: So disappointed, poor customer service.
Fantastic experience: Very clean staff very friendly
Fantastic experience: Highly affordable council gym with pool/parking/classes. Has highway access via A316. Has sufficient equipment and floor space. Does not have floor trainers. Affordable paid training services are available.
Fantastic experience: The gym is large and the device are well spaced. No boxing stuff but all for musculation and cardio. The swimming pool looks a bite "tired" regards to the rest of the facilities.
Fantastic experience: We have been using the pool for 3 or 4 years and have lessons there. The teachers and pool side staff are amazing. Lovely part of our week.
Negative experience: This place need to be investigated by the public safety and health officer. It is not safe at all . Very dirty. Steam room never been clean .please if you are using this facility stop before you done any damage to your health.
Fantastic experience: Returned after many years. As good as ever and now has water rowers.
Fantastic experience: Loved it see you guys soon
Fantastic experience: Nice place, clean and nice pool, nothing to complain
Negative experience: The Internet still down more then a week and no one know when will be back. The cell phone signal is so bad you need the internet to send text massage or make emergency call or get phone call. But no one care. I keep asking everyday no body care sadly. They just said sorry and have a good day but no action. We pay lots of money becomes member this gym. So I hope this review helps for the manager doing something about it. Today Monday October 25 still no Internet. Upsetting management. Still no Internet till today October 26, 2021.
Fantastic experience: Took our Granddaughter to the pool for the first time. It was lovely the staff were very helpful and friendly. Returning next week. Great fun.
Negative experience: I am absolutely appalled by this place. Terrible facilities (the pool is as warm as a bath) with a terrible timetable allowing about an hour a day for lane swimming. To make matters worse, when you try to cancel your account, you're told you have to pay two months more. Appalling.
Negative experience: I have been cautiously optimistic about New Chiswick Pool since it re-opened after lock down under the management of Lampton Leisure. But I have been very unimpressed by their new timetabling... I went to the pool on Sunday morning for my customary 8am - 9am lanes swim. The lanes swim on a Saturday and Sunday morning has been a staple of the pool for at least the past 20 years. I paid etc., but was only informed (after I had changed) that the Sunday session was now for mother and babies only... (and the Saturday session had been converted into a general swim). As a result there were now no lanes. But (I was told) as the pool was empty I could swim anyway as they had forgotten about the change (special dispensation indeed for a man, and with no baby in tow!). In fact for the whole hour that I swam, there was myself and just one lady swimmer. It was most pleasant... but surely not sustainable! When it was lanes swimming (I gather until 2 weeks ago) there used to be some 20 swimmers swimming between 8m and 9am. But last Sunday there were just two of us with the pool to ourselves. It is a very odd change to the timetable. It came with out warning - no email for those of us registered with the pool and with leisure cards, no notice at the reception desk, no announcement that I can see on the web site... I wonder if there was any consultation at all on the timetable change. It would appear that there wasn't with the regulars. And I doubt with the mothers and babies, who clearly aren't clamouring to have a swim at 8am on a Sunday morning...! There was no mother and baby in sight last Sunday... I wonder why and who at Lampton Leisure took the decision to disenfranchise their regulars so very effectively and reduce the numbers in the pool? I would urge them to revert to the old timetable of lanes on a Saturday and Sunday in order to get people back in the swim before it is too late!!
Fantastic experience: I'm membership lampoon leisure but actually I went to brentford so I can't use parking for car so I decided to go Chiswick pool because I can use parking free for car and so place clean and staff very friendly very nice pool and I use souna everything is ok
Fantastic experience: Great local pool. 25m
Fantastic experience: Oh man! This place has got such an amazing swimming pool! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Has all facilities from lockers to showers and even includes a sauna! 10/10 place!
Fantastic experience: Very nice place. Clean and warm water. Very polite staff.
Fantastic experience: Nice quiet very welcoming staff
Positive experience: Its okay, not the friendliest of places when it comes to staff. A few occasions ive said thankyou to the staff on desk as im walking out and there has been no response, heads down just carrying on with whatever theyre doing. I wouldnt mind just once but its been on every occasion.
Positive experience: Oh lovely experience on the first day. Highly appreciate the staff and also in particular Mr. Jadhav one of the trainer who was very kind in helping me and my friend and instructing us so well with the equipment and its use. Thank you. Lovely place to come in and relax to keep our bodies fit.
Fantastic experience: Great swim . Clean and well organised
Fantastic experience: Great facilities
Fantastic experience: Simple, clean, pls don’t go here as I love it not too crowded.
Fantastic experience: Great to have it open.
Fantastic experience: Lovely friendly staff, and affordable children's swimming lessons with their teacher Stella, me and my daughter loves it.
Positive experience: Nice and quiet, the only downside was the unavailability of hairdryers due to covid cross contamination risks
Negative experience: Absolutely disappointing services. Despite charging me £10 each month during quarantine, they have made no effort to clearly communicate when they will be re-opening their facilities. I was happy to support a leisure centre which is struggling financially more so than other privately owned organisations during lock-down but due to their lack of transparency, I will be signing up to another gym. I may have to pay more per month but at least I'll be dealing with a competent organisation.
Negative experience: While the gym was closed due to the lockdown, I found that they continued to charge me £10 in April and May. They refused to give me the refund. I quit the membership.
Fantastic experience: Still closed
Positive experience: They renewed my membership a few weeks after I asked them to cancel it via email. If you ignore the requests of your clients and charge them for unwanted services, then you are seriously incompetent from a customer service standpoint.
Positive experience: Pool is nice and not too cold, but the pool locker facility is so cold always. Overall a nice place
