Negative experience: good luck cancelling your membership if you want to move to another gym. will take you months

Negative experience: Changing room is close on weekend at 8.00 oclose no staff there so it's not 24 hrs

Positive experience: Can we have signs in the toilet that remind these filthy people to wash their hands after using the toilets. Disgusted beyond belief.

Negative experience: Doesn’t let me enter more than once a day. It says no re entry in short time - I can go in the morning but it won’t let me back in at night. No staff at night either so complete waste of time. No gym limits you to 1 session a day, ridiculous

Negative experience: Place has gone awful , most equipment is always broken. The manager or whatever he likes to think is he Martin is usless always talking to his girlfriend while all the other staff works and he just chats away to his bird. There’s no room here for locals anymore all rammed full of rude people and students.

Positive experience: A huge gym that’s open 24/7 with a large selection of equipment. I mainly like to use the step masters however most of the time only about 3 of the 6 machines are working at any one time which can be very frustrating in busy periods. Some of the treadmills have parts missing or the heart rate sensors don’t work. Staff are great. Place is clean and plenty of free parking. Be good to know what is being done about the faulty Machines instead of a generic “thanks for leaving us a review” from the site staff.

Negative experience: Gym has gone very bad 6 stair masters and only 1 that works always dirty and full of sweat equipment is out of date all needs replacing yohish is the only one that is helpful and cleans.. toilets are always dirty and smelling air con never works just one thing after another

Positive experience: Great place to attend. Nicely laid out. and good variety of equipment, "when it's not broken/out of order". Which seems to happen quite alot. Can be very frustrating.

Negative experience: Ramped price up after buyout and the entry exit, after all the money wasted, is a complete shower....!!

Positive experience: has a nice ladies gym, good dumbbells area, but the space is definitely not enough for all the people. doesn't have any separate area for stretching besides the studio and that one could be closed for classes. the ladies toilets and showers definitely need some work - especially ridiculous to have one drain for several showers, it's kind of disgusting to stand ankle deep in soapy water from someone next to you. the stairs between the floors need some non slippery coating (i once almost sprained my ankle on it) some changing cabins would also be nice.

Positive experience: Gym is good but the same staff member keeps blasting the speakers on his shift so you get a headache and can't hear your PT

Negative experience: Weird cancellation process. I don’t want to go this gym anymore and I want to cancel my membership. But even after cancellation I was charged. I understand that cancellation process can take up to 1 month. But should it be so?! If I decide not to go I have to pay anyway!?

Positive experience: Visiting here for a little while as our main gym is closed for renovations. Lovely big gym and spacious. Took us a little while to get the hang of the bar code readers but we got there in the end. Plenty of machinary to choose from, though some of the numbers for kg & lbs have come away so had to find others nearby and take a photo so we could see which weights were what. I enjoyed my session here today and looking forward to next week.

Negative experience: I’ve been trying to cancel my membership once I heard you were transferring from Simply Gym to JD Gyms. I’ve received no reply’s on my emails and now subsequently been charged for my membership.

Fantastic experience: Always a great early morning class with the instructor Yogi, iv learnt soo much since attending his classes on mobility and flexibility, his attention to individual progress and capabilities is something Iv not experienced in any class or gym before. Yogi is a credit to Jd gyms.

Positive experience: It's fine. But sometimes staff crank the volume on the piped music really high early in the morning, and it's pretty obnoxious.

Positive experience: Impressed with the gym facilities at JD Gyms in Swansea. The atmosphere is welcoming, and great for workouts.

Negative experience: Don’t usually post reviews but had to share. Witnessed an employee sign the check sheet and walk out, with the toilets stinking of urine (as usual) with the soap dispenser empty. This speaks for the cleanliness of this place. Machines also in poor condition. However there is a wide range of equipment and is only busy at peak times.

Fantastic experience: Great classes. Especially the HIIT Classes

Negative experience: As Foreigner take care he book the money from your Card after you can not training there , he say you need a UK Bank Account. I and a co worker not become the money back. You get a phone number and after you call you get other phone number. And he have the money and you not can Training there . The Gym looks very good

Negative experience: The metal stairs are very slippery especially when they are being cleaned. Today I slipped and smahed my phone walking down them. applying grip tape to the stairs would be a cheap solution and make the stairs alot safer.

Fantastic experience: It is a good gym, but there are a lot of notes, such as the toilet, as well as the gate and entrance that sometimes do not work, and there are always a lot of people in it. I expect that these people who have a membership will bring their friends who have nothing in the gym.

Negative experience: I cancelled my membership not too long ago as I couldn't afford it no more and even know I cancelled it I still got charged for it and now I need a refund

Negative experience: Gym is constantly packed at all times during the day. Can’t get on any machines even at times which are supposed to be quieter. Especially hard to get on squat racks. Air-con doesn’t seem to work, always hot, stuffy and smelly. Very poor gym etiquette here, nobody seems to put anything back where it belongs. Never witnessed staff patrolling. All the equipment is old, broken machines take ages to be fixed. Gates open most of the time allowing anyone and everyone to walk straight in. Probably part of the reason it’s so busy. There needs to be some sort of policy on people filming themselves here with others in the background.

Positive experience: The membership fee is good value for money and the gym well equipped. However, the music played is too loud (I could hear over what I was playing through my earbuds), the air conditioning doesn't seem to work very well, staff members are very few and far between, and the QR code entry/exit system is sporadic at best.

Negative experience: Worst gym, how can you lock the changing rooms knowing people have their things in there

Negative experience: I haven't been to the gym for a month . Returned this morning for spin class only to find continuing lack of air conditioning in spin room. Both doors open ,including ladies gym to try and get some cool air in there. Ladies gym is freezing!!!!!. The poor staff at Swansea gym have no support from upper management to rectify this problem. The bikes are shocking, been told new bikes have been coming since before covid. Poor swansea members are being sold short compared to other jdjyms. Get a grip senior management of jdgym. You are as useful as a chocolate teapot, all blah blah. Desperately needs a refurb.!!!!!

Positive experience: Great gym, has various sections, only wish the female section was as slightly bigger with more equipment.

Negative experience: The app doesn't always work so it is impossible to get in without the QR code. You used to be able to use the pin pad but this is not an option anymore apparently. I wouldn't use this gym at night as I'd be worried that if the app failed, how could you get out?! Also, the timetable is not always accurate. I've turned up for classes to be told that the trainer is away but the app hasn't been changed. Frustrating.

Negative experience: Decent equipment. Nice gym overall however, on many occasions people go as 2-3 or even 4 through the gate as a friend lets them through, probably why the gym is so busy. Staff dont seem to care either

Fantastic experience: Guest visit to workout with a friend. Lots of apparatus to avoid waiting for machines, free weights or dumbbells. Clean and modern feel with good energy/vibe

Fantastic experience: I’ve always managed to get a treadmill, even at their busiest periods; the women’s only part of the gym is fantastic and very popular as it’s usually full! It seems a shame that so many machines are out of order at any given time, but again, I’ve never had to wait for one yet.

Negative experience: Is there any possible logical explanation why the locker rooms are being closed after 8 when the gym is 24 hours working? Any logical explanation….any Where am i supposed to change my clothes and take a piss if i need, as i am coming straight after work Definitely switching to another gym, that just does not make sense??

Negative experience: Been here 3 times throughout the week, all 3 times showers smelled very bad and shower doors couldn't close and were broken. Not a great experience, very dirty. Have to walk through a toilet before you even get from the wardrobe to the showers. In the sh Toilet also very dirty. One time flooded. Place needs to be refurbished!!!

Negative experience: Absolute Shambles! I wanted to attend a late night workout as my original gym closes at 10pm (David Lloyds) so I decided to sign my self up to this gym as its the most local 24 hour gym available for me with parking. Where do I start upon my arrival I was stopped by the changing room doors the imbecile running the gym had a great idea of closing the changing rooms after 10pm without providing access to secondary locker rooms for us to use in the gym (bloody genius) so upon my arrival wearing winter clothes and having all my gym stuff in a large bag I was told I will have to carry this all around with me on the gym floor if I don't want anything to go missing.. but then I decided ok if that's the policy however absurd it's the gyms policy so I decided to take all my stuff and put it in my car for safe keeping within 3min I returned after dropping my stuff off I was refused back entry as apparently another gym policy is "we are not allowed to go back into the gym club within a short period of time." So I will be definetly getting money back tomorrow and cancelling my memberships as the imbeciles who came up with these rules they do not understand basic reasons why access is required just incase we forget our pre workout in the car or if I decide I want to give my partner keys to the house whilst am in the gym as she forgot hers, I mean you get the reason why we need access when training in North London Wood Green in the gym we had access to all facilities and unlimited access and never had any problems guess common sense has not reached people running this gym here in Swansea!

Negative experience: Advertised as a 24 hour gym however their locker rooms apparently close at 8pm? There was no warning, this was not clearly stated anywhere and as I was leaving I found the locker rooms locked with my stuff still inside. Staff member told us they couldn't open the doors and to come back tomorrow to get it. My car/home keys were in the locker room and my and my boyfriend had to contact the reception of our accommodation just to get back home. This policy needs to be fixed, a lot of people were left stranded when we left. Very concerning.

Fantastic experience: Visited my family in swansea for a few days, so i managed to squeeze two free sessions at the gym! I must say the team are super friendly and accomidating. One guy in particular (PT called Arnie) who was very friendly to me and i saw him helping other members with nutrition and exercise advice ( which is great to see). It's a real shame i dont have a JD Gym near me in west sussex, I'd join it in a heart beat! Great variety of equipment and no egos thst i saw

Positive experience: decent gym, decent equipment. Issues: sometimes weights are scattered across the gym and it gets proper packed. A massive issue is that the ventilation isn't great, therefore a mass amount of condensation builds up in the gym which could be a safety hazard. for example, the rubber floor gets very slippery. When I started to do my dumbell chest press exercise, due to the force of me pushing my feet down on the floor for stability, both my legs slipped which could've caused me to drop a weight on my head, which is why that day I couldn't do a top set. Also, when doing chest flys, if the condensation is present you will find yourself unable to do them as you slowly slip backwards.

Fantastic experience: Lovely place and staff ngl

Positive experience: Great atmosphere, machinery apparently the best in town, needs more wiping down the surfaces regularly throughout the day with proper cleaning detergents, it the surface looked with dry sweat. Else all good.

Negative experience: Weights for equipment all over the place and terrible staff who will not answer the support button.

Negative experience: Not good for disabled gym users. You have to ask for then to open the wheelchair accessible gate when you arrive and when you leave. The disabled changing room/ toilet in the women's facilities has been out of order for what seems like months.

Positive experience: Lots of equipment!

Positive experience: A nice gym with good facilities, a good atmosphere, not too busy all the time, plenty of parking lots, but the equipment is not diversified enough

Positive experience: Good equipment, and always clean, but only gets a 3 star due to not enough cables, weight discs, and way too many students in peak hours.

Fantastic experience: So disappointed with what's been done to the gym. The spin studio is unusable because they refuse to turn the air conditioning on outside of classes. I changed gyms specifically for the spin studio and now it's unusable. They also seem to be totally understaffed all the time. I assume that's why everyone keeps leaving from burnout. Such a shame. I'm editing this because although there's still no air con outside of class the new manager has gone above and beyond for me to use a spin bike 24/7 and you can't argue with that level of customer service. (I'll start complaining about heat again in the summer )

Fantastic experience: Onky been once, but it's a massive gym that looks very good inside, very nice staff, and all the equipment you would need. They also do lots of different classes. Would definitely recommend it if you do strength or bodybuilding training.

Positive experience: Can be quite busy morning or afternoon and some equipment out of service for a couple of weeks but other than that it's fine does the job.

Fantastic experience: The price is very good for what the gym offer. Although I would suggest to add more machineries because during the peak time is almost impossible to use what you want. There is space but is not 100% optimised. The staff is friendly and the Gym is very, VERY clean.

Negative experience: Good luck cancelling, they need 30 days, ignore your support tickets, charge you further then send debt collector emails. Scumbags. Don't bother, go to a normal modern gym which allows direct debit cancellation, not these con artists who make you jump through hoops to leave. As far as the gym goes it's okay I guess?

Positive experience: I would recommend adding more machines and equipment in the Ladies’ area.

Negative experience: I’ve been coming here for years, on the whole it’s a pretty good gym. However, the blonde girl who works there has a horrific attitude within 15 minutes of the gym closing, and shuts all the lights off as soon as the clock strikes o’clock (or before sometimes). I’ve worked retail jobs before and it’s just part of the job that people will try to hang around for an extra 5 minutes (I leave at o clock, personally). It’s an annoying part of the job but you can’t be rude to people who choose to stay until o clock since it’s their right and part of what they pay for. Fair enough kick people out who are still working out past closing time but some people like myself come to the gym just before close when it’s quiet and don’t appreciate being barked at from quarter to onwards. They also shut off all the music at that time too. Just my thoughts :)

Positive experience: Great equipment and very large but it has a terrible culture, people hogging equipment for eternity while chatting and texting, no staff to monitor behaviour I've literally had my equipment stripped of weights while walking across the gym to get a weight plate If you love Instagram and have 3 hours to train a day this place is for you

Positive experience: It is huge but some of the machines are very little numbered. I have ADHD and noise sensitivity. It is too noisy. My cancellation earphones are not able to completely stop it..super annoying..I suggest the management to reduce the volume of music. This is not disco nor they are not running circus in gym. This music is not motivating but exhausting people.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym. Too bad it's not 24 hours open. And it's only 2 hours free parking.

Negative experience: I've used this gym for year ,lately its become very overcrowded ,way to many members and this causes the place to smell very bad of body odour and a very unpleasant smell this with inadequate aircon is tough to bear ,this is in no way a reflection on the cleaners who are the best I've seen just to many people using the place . If anything breaks it takes an age to fix,go smell for your self.

Positive experience: I like this jd gym not going to lie, the atmosphere colour is dark and you can use this to grind and to achieve your goals.

Positive experience: Great gym, some of the cable machines are in a bad state, missing pins, carabiners and need some general maintenance. I also wish they had more cable attachments and better D handles. Some better benches in the dumbbell area would be great, ones where the seating pad moves when you adjust the height.

Positive experience: I have been using the gym for many years before JD took over and have found it not to bad. The women only area is very small room with very little equipment or space. Lately everytime I have gone it has been very busy that this room has everything being used. I have unfortunately had to leave without doing my usual routine. Its such a shame as I am in the process of looking for a new gym.

Positive experience: Clean and modern gym with plenty of equipment. It is reasonably priced, but it can get overly busy at peak times.

Positive experience: I absolutely love the gym. Great equipment, never any problems or bad vibe. However, the car park is infuriating. Not the gyms fault but it will definitely affect their customers and they should try some sort of deal/complain. Two hours isn't sufficient time to change, warm up, work out. I can never get to cardio or stretching afterwards. All the other jd gyms I've ever been to have free parking so you can really enjoy the equipment/your session even if it is a busy period. I use the gym as an escape but constantly checking time and worrying about fines ruins that. I've had to pay every time I visit at peak times or if I want to do a full session which costs more than the membership over the month. Really sad because otherwise it's a great place.

Negative experience: Just wanted a one off trip, and made it clear I was only in town for the day. "Nahh mate we need your direct debit details."

Positive experience: Pros: Gym has up to date equipment and a variety of cable pulley systems & adjustable benches which is great during peak times. Also has a big changing room with plenty of lockers. Cons: A lot of machines require maintenance, plenty of rust can be found on machines and as such it can be difficult to adjust the seat and chest support on some of them. Also not a fan of the fact that the Stretching room is forbidden access during classes when only a dozen people are partaking in the class. More weight plates are required as well.

Fantastic experience: Been off training for a while due to injury. Returned to JD gym and realised how much I'd missed it. Staff are friendly as are most of the other users of the gym

Fantastic experience: I think jd gym is awesome. It is very friendly welcoming and a pleasure to train there.the atmosphere is open and the trainers are amazing. The equipment is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need.the Place is clean and spotless. Full marks in my book.

Positive experience: Great gym and atmosphere, wish had multiple pairs of the heavier dumbbells, can be a pain when busy, might as well not come if you don't come morning/afternoon

Fantastic experience: Pretty good. It's best when visit early in the morning. The evenings are busier. They have workout sessions with coaches that you can join if you don't have your own work out routine

Negative experience: The gym is nice and with an open space layout. However it is often very crowded and with very limited opening times. If you go in the evening after work, expect most machines/benches to be full and to find it difficult to breathe due to no air circulation and the gym being overcrowded.

Positive experience: Nice gym, horrendous showers, gimme a temperature dial and some water rather than just boiling mist.

Negative experience: Joined today and visited to use the spin bikes. Unfortunately the bikes are not built for people who are 6 foot 2 so kept banging my knees on drop bars. I have requested a full refund as only joined 5hrs ago I will let you know how it goes....

Negative experience: Equipments and machines need TLC, maintenance, or replacement. I've nearly injured my lower back on hyper extension machine, because the machine isn't levelled, which applied more pressure on one side than the other side. Had to recover for a week from that, and that's not all, most machines are RUSTY, need oilling or something to make movement smooth. Have told staff there but they brush it off saying they do maintenance every now and then but it's been over a year now, and the machines state is only worsening. I'm considering joining another gym because of this negligence.
