Anytime Fitness Chatham

Negative experience: DO NOT COME HERE THIS PLACE IS CLOSED. Guys, this place shut down from one day to another, I renew my subscription for no reason, waste of money!

Negative experience: The worst customer service I have ever experienced. They are only after money and have no care for their customers. I have been trying to cancel for months, and they would not cancel. They have also reported me to multiple debt companies due to THEM not listening and having no care for their customers. Disgusting. ( Reading the reviews, I see many people have experienced problems with Anytime fitness cancelling and just taking the money)

Fantastic experience: I'm so glad that I have joined Anytime Fitness in Chatham.. i am very much new to the area and have been very much welcomed. I have felt so safe and comfortable in such a short amount of time. In my initial induction, I was welcomed by Danny who gave me a fantastic tour around the gym and also Informed of the classes and services available. He gave me lots of encouragement and advise and i felt happy i had joined. Generally, i can say that the staff are very friendly and professional. They always smile and greet me on arrival. The gym is decent, very clean and i always see cleaners on most visits which is reassuring. There are not many gyms in Chatham but this is one of the very few gyms in Chatham I can say that it does the job for me. It is a little smaller than what i am use to but has a lovely community vibe.

Fantastic experience: recently signed up to the gym and i honestly can’t fault it! Katie and Danny were so helpful and i look forward to training there again! love it!

Fantastic experience: Seen a few managers come and go but hats off to the new guy Danny I’ve seen a big turn around in effort, cleanliness, friendliness and most of all he really seems like he cares but I’ll still be there doing my thing whoever’s managing but let’s hope he’s here to stay

Fantastic experience: Had my first PT session with Danny today and what a lovely man he is, I was so nervous about joining a gym for the first time but straight away Danny made me feel comfortable and the nerves disappeared soon as he put me through my paces , can't wait for next week

Negative experience: Been trying to cancel for months but had no response at all. 3 months now they've ignored emails and they've continued to take money. Had no choice but to just cancel the direct debit. Started off okay but sadly the terrible service has very much put me off completely.

Fantastic experience: Me and my husband Gordon have been training here for a while. Gordon has been in this gym since it opened on and off and he love it there. Sometimes more than being at home

Negative experience: Small gym , has what you need , fairly quiet but have been trying to cancel for months now due to personal and financial issues , got told cancellation form is online...couldn't do the form , staff kept telling me to reinstate dd to pay for the next month then i cancel , after months of numerous emails being told different things and being told i need proof of financial difficulties or medical , its now being taken to debt collector because of the poor customer service the company has for them to not reply to emails now .

Negative experience: I joined this gym last summer as it seemed like a great place and it was extremely convenient as a location due to my job. I chose to have a 3 months contract because I wasn't sure if I'll have the consistency to commit to a full year. After my contract ended, at the end of November, I wanted to stop my membership. I've been trying to cancel my membership until today, I've sent them emails, calls and went to them personally numerous times. I kept being told that I need to fill in a cancellation request, but it wouldn't let me do that at all, saying that my membership cannot be identified. No-one replied to any of my emails, nor called me back to discuss this issue, so I ended up having to pay for extra months even though I did give them the one month notice and sent them screenshots of their page saying I cannot do it. When I walked to the gym again today, all I was told was that my email was spelled wrong, which is frustrating that it means no-one checked this query nor checked any of my emails. However, I still ended up paying for December and January, even if I've been trying to cancel this since November. The gym is nicely equipped and has a variety of activities. Always been clean and I received help when I asked how to use some of the equipment. The customer service part was extremely disappointing and frustrating, especially as it didn't seem like they cared enough to reply to any of my attempts to communicate with them, except the automatic message about the cancellation form which I stated endless times it did not work for me.

Negative experience: If I could put zero stars I would..avoid this gym like the plague..only after your money,..i tried to freeze contract and was told would have to give 15 days notice or pay for full month..no where in my contract does it state that i have to give 15days notice, i had given 5 days..pure gym only require 3 days notice to freeze their contract. I have since been harassed by Anytime fitness for a months payment and a late fee. You cannot even cancel your account on their cancellation portal as it doesn't seem to work also reviews on here which have purportedly been replied to by the "owner" which is an out and out lie.. An absolute disgrace they should be ashamed of themselves. I cannot stress this enough DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!!! There are much better gyms locally Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!

Negative experience: By far the worst gym I’ve been to, and doesn’t belong with the Anytime Fitness chain. I’ve visited a few times whilst in Medway because the nearest AF is too far away, but won’t be going back. The place clearly has no cleaner - rubbish has been untouched for over a week, the toilets and changing rooms are tiny, broken, and disgusting, and the cleaning check sheet stops weeks ago. There’s literally no cleaning equipment for gym-goers to wipe down machines with, and they don’t have a compulsory towel policy, so presumably every machine has a layer of dried sweat on it. Several of the machines have broken components, the cardio machines are noisy and uneven, and the bikes need to be pedalled for a while before they boot up. Far too many patrons drop weights, while the staff sit in the office ignoring unacceptable behaviour. The final straw was having to push past the staff member smoking just outside the door in order to get in. This horrible place fits with the fact that Chatham has just been labelled the slobbiest place in Britain, and I will be attempting to contact the franchise’s head office. Update: Hasn’t improved in the last year, apart from an enthusiastic, friendly manager, and a few bottles of cleaner, and even more things are broken and run down, so I’m not surprised to see it’s just closed permanently. Any future owners should start by visiting literally any other professional gym to see how it’s done.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to the gym for about 8 months and found it to be really good. Katie whom is one of the managers there is extremely friendly and helpful and does her best to always goes above and beyond whenever I've needed assistance. A gym I'd definitely recommend!

Negative experience: Hi all, I scheduled with the manager to start my membership and the payment in the 1 st of February 2022, finally, I cancelled before the 1st of February and before 14 days, and I never used the gym and I gave the manager back the pass, finally I was charged by 34.2£ for something I never used. Before to have been charged, I asked the manager and she confirmed by email and she is responded “ No further payment should now be due in February and your membership has been terminated. “ and I asked the manager for refund but I am still waiting.

Negative experience: They were charging me a higher fee during the lockdown when the gyms were closed even though I vehemently told them not to and they agreed. Now they even dare to chase me for canceling my direct debit. Shameful. Stay away!!!

Negative experience: This has to be the most embarrassing review I am putting up because this small business has scammed me. On April 2021, I went outside the Pentagon shopping centre with a friend, a man who was promoting the business asked us to visit the gym and to have a tour. His name was Rick and there was another man with him. When he showed us, he spoke about memberships. He said that is £29.99 per month, he then told us that first month is free, then 'remembered' that there is 2 month free if there's two friends, couples that joined. Then when we joined, after the first free month we were charged £29.99 on the second month. I called to question why this happened and the man on the phone said they never heard of this discount before - I explained to him and all he did was freeze my account for that month due to what Rick said. I then decided to cancel and they said the contract lasts for a year, Rick had never told us that the contract was a year, he simply said that its 2 months free (after mentioning discounts) and cancel whenever within that 2 months. I went to the gym and told them, they said they needed a PICTURE or my face and a signature, he told me the signature was to prove that we had a talk? I don't even know what I signed at this point, no papers were shown nothing. Him asking for my picture was so uncomfortable - what gym does this? It is Improper practice. They were all emotionless and careless. I called them numerous times about cancelling and they would say they will call back but never do. I then called recently, there's new staff and I told them about my situation, they said they will fix it and call me back but never did. I have every right to cancel. This gym is a scam and a joke, I will not be coming here ever again and warn people not to be fooled by these unprofessional workers.

Fantastic experience: Recently joined a gym didn't have a clue what to expect was nervous I would feel out of place, had a chat with an instructor felt very much at ease, shown how to use the machinery, instructor was patient and never rushed me,lots of exciting equipment to use and also a virtual gym which I tried and was good, talked lengthy about my diet or lack of it, been a couple of times since, gym is clean, people are friendly, emailed Kindy ( PT instructor), asking a question got a rapid reply it's quite clear that nothing is to much trouble for pt instructors at the gym and they are quite happy to answer even the most dumb questions, overall gym is exciting , clean, Kindy has plenty of time for everyone and she's full of encouragement she has already made my gym visits more comfortable, would recommend this gym to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Only been here for 2 weeks good experience so far staff are nice. would have been nice not being set in a contract and maybe a little pricey compared to whats on offer in other gyms, but it's never busy so never have to wait for machines and i don't feel intimidated using any of the equipment as I use to feel like people was staring at me lifting the little weights and struggling lol (we have all seen videos on Facebook) so that makes up for the busier gyms as i find myself having a better work out here. changing room a little small and I would like to see protein shakes in the vending machine not just water and energy drinks but overall I have had a good experience so far and would recommend.

Positive experience: Currently a member at Anytime Fitness. It's a good little gym, has all the equipment you need and very handy that it is 24 hour. Lots of different varity of equipment as well however people don't seem to put them back which makes it look untidy early in the morning (not the gyms fault). Never really too busy at anytime either so always equipment for you to use. The only critism I have is that the changing rooms are not great at all. They are very small which makes you uncomfortable after changing (and makes you hot and sweaty after having a shower, which isn't great) and the showers go from hot to cold really quickly without pressing anything (which i experienced this morning) Luckily the showers dont get so hot that they scald you.

Negative experience: Been training here throughout the time it's been open. Seen a few different managers and staff don't seem to stay long. Drastically down hill in the last 12months . Key fob entrence regualy down so cant enter when the premises arnt staffd. not up to scratch with cleaning. Gym useully stinks. Aircon on at the wrong times. "Heated floors in the showers never turnt on . Disabled toilet is filthy . I've Seen Wilkinson cleaning products laying around and im Pretty sure the sports and leisure industry use a certain product due to the vast amounts of bacteria that gets brought into and created in the gym area. This gym used to be quality. I havent wanted to leave a bad review but upon the last update hearing they don't like the clientel base and are upping there membership price around the £50 mark a Month. Sorry but you can't polish a turd I would advise everyone to save there £34.95 (for now) and go elsewhere save money and health! Looking down through the reveiws and a few of them are old staff so there fake revewis

Negative experience: Decent equipment and clean workout area, but the changing rooms haven't got any benches to sit on or put your bag on. Felt very cheap and lazy. Considering it's more expensive than the local rivals, you'd think they'd put more attention to details like that. Thumbs down.

I can not describe to you how clean and well equipped it is and it has such a friendly vibe :) the staff are a treasure . Jade is always happy to help as is Kerry . The personal trainers are really supportive and the manager Ricky is really easy to talk to regarding any issues you may have . I would recommend this gym 1000% xx
