Alsager Leisure Centre

Negative experience: It was okay,but very basic.Sadly I left my swim goggles in the locker and went back in but sadly they had been stolen ... ah well.macclesfield leisure centre isn't too far from there so I suggest going there for much more facilities.

Positive experience: Used the gym facility. Decent equipment just not enough of it or space in the weight section. Decent amount of cardio equipment, just needs more space for lifting

Negative experience: Considering nantwich leisure centre is the same company I'm shocked. Free parking is the only perk. Was in the pool for the family session. Within that time the 2 life guards on duty changed shifts 3 times. Me and my son (who had four arm bands on so nothings taking him under water) were playing up and down the pool and mostly in the deep end with no issues. The first set of guards said nothing. Second set came in and told use to stay behind the blue line in the shallow area that was packed so couldn't swim properly. They watched us like a hawk making us feel uncomfortable. When the third set of guards swopped one of the second group made it obvious she was talking about us as if we needed baby sitting. Funny thing was the third shift of guards didn't sat anything when we continued to play anywhere in the pool SAFELY!! So it's either lack of training for staff or staff are following different rules. Ruined the day really. O and no separate changing area/shower area. The water was FREEZING! When you have so much competition on your doorstep it's easy for people to walk away.

Fantastic experience: First time visit and everyone was very polite and informative. The leisure centre was clean and tidy and the facilities were very good

Positive experience: Car parking is not great, I often park in the mud under trees. Staff on reception have been really nice to us. Changing rooms are open plan and often dirty, toilet areas are not too clean either and smell of urine. Floors are always filthy, as people ignore the 'No outdoor shoes' sign - I guess they can't spend all day mopping. My son has liked all of his swim teachers so far but sometimes the kids look a bit squashed in their section of the pool. One week my son did approx 10 mins of swimming in a 30 min lesson; he was stood around for the rest of the time, as other children took their turn. At the viewing window there are hardly any seats, so it's not very comfortable. We were really grateful to get my son into a class, he's really taken to the water and he's moved up twice, both transitions have been smoothly handled. However it's starting to become a stressful experience so I am looking elsewhere.

Negative experience: Don’t waste your money joining this gym. £42.99pm & all you’ll get to use are the running machines. It’s FULL OF KIDS every single day just sat there on the equipment using their phones. Complete waste of time having any gym staff bc they do absolutely nothing about anything even tho the CCTV shows what’s going on. The AC is switched up to 30 degrees bc the staff are cold It’s an absolute disgrace along with the staff. Dont waste your money. The gym on the retail park in Crewe is just £20pm with more facilities & better staff. This place needs closing down.

Positive experience: Open plan changing rooms that are dirty, toilets areas are not clean and smell of urine. Nobody obeys the "no outdoor shoes beyond this point" signage so the floors are dirty and not kept clean during the day Poolside was fairly clean, fun swim there are plenty of floats and balls etc for children to use in the pool

Positive experience: Decided to start swimming again after years of being out of the pool. Have been back 3 weeks and unfortunately it seems that some staff haven’t been made aware of wearing face masks/snorkel masks. Nothing was said to me about it after the first weeks swim,second week nearing the end of my swim was told I could wear it in lane swim,not general swim which is a fair comment,today I never even got into the pool when the nice lifeguard told me “Not allowed”. Told her what happened the last 2 weeks,give her due she checked with her manager who said no not allowed and stated reasons. So I had a swim but could not get into my stride without my mask. Unfortunately due to this ruling I have had my last swim at the centre. If this ruling is overturned then I shall return. Just to point out,staff are friendly and professional in their duties.

Negative experience: For a lovley town like Alsager this place is in dyer need of a massive revamp, the gym is apaulling with broken equipment and is too small to even swing a cat in. The whole building is in need of a huge make over compared to surrounding towns and what tops it off is the most unhelpful unwelcoming most miserable reception staff you'd be unfortunate enough to have to deal with. A smile on your face goes a long way! If I could give this place a zero star that would be a compliment.

Fantastic experience: A great assest to the community.. As a family we use the gym,, swimming pool for leisure and lessons as well as function room for party hire and squash courts. Can't complain

Fantastic experience: Hired the hall for a birthday party. Everyone had fun including on a bouncy obstacle course and playing football. Had Domino's pizza in another room afterwards where we also did some party games. Only downside was that there is no sound system to play party tunes. Thank you for the help clearing up.

Negative experience: After attending the swimming pool twice a week my grandchildren got infected with verrucas and ear infections caused by bacteria in the water so not a very good place for children must not check forpeople having verrucas and dont clean the water properly digusted as children were in agony for months nearly resulting in permenant damage to ear and feet plus the cost of visitng a private chiropodist and hours in A and E

Fantastic experience: Went to swim in the slow lane....unfortunately a man who was not supposed to be there made life a little difficult...you are not slow mate!

Positive experience: It's a bit run down and smells. It wasn't terrible but I wouldn't go there through choice again.

Positive experience: Half decent facilities. Staff are polite at reception. Changing rooms are usually pretty clean.

Positive experience: Good little pool plenty of floats etc for the kids. Changing rooms could do with modernising a bit. Lots of people seem to not mind leaving their clothing strewn over benches leaving limited space to change despite plenty of lockers been available to secure their belongings.

Fantastic experience: We had a marvellous swim on our visit here. Plenty of lifeguards around, lots of floating toys in the pool for young and not-so-young alike to have fun with. Friendly staff and the Centre is in the nice location of Alsager.

Positive experience: Bit small and can get full quickly but otherwise is is good and has lots of facilities.

Fantastic experience: Good selection of equipment for a smaller gym, pool is ok although changing rooms are a little worn now. I'd say it's worth membership and my children enjoy swimming lessons.

Positive experience: Kids are really happy with the swimming lessons. There is also an option of basketball Sundays for kids starting from year 5.

Negative experience: Needs a good clean! Very disappointed

Fantastic experience: Went to look at the gym facilities, liked the gym and staff, membership is high because you have the use of the swimming pool and all the classes, which i won't use,a separate membership just for the gym would be ideal.

Positive experience: Right 4 star.. good place. Pool size ok Gym well you can get by I'd like to see more room and equipment for it though the stuff is new and up to date just needs more. Good classes Staff very helpful Down side is big but it's a must by the gym all slots gym pool classes must be booked so numbers are limited When this has passed and if a day to day normal is ever to be again then it will improve.. I get this move is for the safety of all. Back to the gym cost is a little high but you get alot for your money Just please drop a court and make the gym everything it can be give it room to grow I beg of you. Would I change for another gym.. bottom line. Yes I would if my needs change

Positive experience: Well equipped gym with a great mix of classes including Les Mills workouts. Staff are all super friendly and informative. When the changing rooms are refreshed, I would defo add another star!

Positive experience: Good Pilates class, never been there before till today. Old swim change facilities but ok. Pool was fine. Water warmth perfect.

Negative experience: The changing rooms are absolutely disgusting and the pool side isnt much better

Fantastic experience: Been this morning for the first time. Did the circuit training and core stability classes. Really enjoyed them both. Garry Sunderland was very helpful and patient with me as I told him done no classes for a good while. Will defo do them again. I'm spoilt for choice with the timetable looking forward to trying all the different classes and the gym

Positive experience: Nice space, we went there for a birthday party so was great for that but i was suprised at the cracks in the glass in some doors and even a clock was smashed and broken and still had been put back on the wall.

Fantastic experience: Good place to hire out. Great for kids partys. Have not tried the swimming pool

Negative experience: As a public facility goes, it's not the worst. But, lots of broken things never get fixed. The bar is from 1960 or earlier. And also they are now using their powerful taxpayer funded position to elbow out private sports classes. Not okay.

Positive experience: First visit, was for a birthday party. Bouncy castle a lot bigger than expected and plenty to entertain kids for an hour. Moved to another room for food and games. Only down side was no way to play music. Pleasant staff as asked about swimming times in the pool and was informed of best time to come.
