Fantastic experience: New owners have massively improved things over the last few weeks and have created a great atmosphere. There are regular updates on progress and the course conditions etc. There are plenty of balls for the driving range. I am very much looking forward to returning to see even more progress being made!

Fantastic experience: Massively improved since the new owner has taken over. No problems with range balls running out, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Will definitely be returning now that it’s under new management

Negative experience: Another company that changes hands like gloves. As suppliers, we have not been paid for services provided. This reflects very poorly on the owners. Avoid like the plague.

Lexden Wood Golf Club

I understand your frustration due to the previous operator’s liquidation, and I’m sorry to hear about the challenges this may have caused. Please note that the new owners have no association with the previous operator. We are committed to building strong relationships with former suppliers and would very much like to explore the possibility of resuming business together. To facilitate this, we are happy to pay up front for any services provided and would appreciate the opportunity to meet in person to discuss our financial position and the terms of any future cooperation. Please get in touch.

Fantastic experience: Great driving range with interactive screens analysing each shot. Floodlit, so great for an evening session with plenty of bays.

Fantastic experience: Driving range has greatly improved and very busy.Had food after that was great .recommended

Fantastic experience: I took my son to the driving range today. The staff were friendly and professional. Good coffee.

Positive experience: Very nice golf course, some long par 5s to really test your distance making skills. Course layout for someone who hasn't played there before was a little confusing at times. The exit of 6 to go to 7 wasn't clear, a small wooden arrow pointing right but leading seemingly nowhere wasn't ideal. And a lot of the holes from 7-18 aren't sign posted with distance, and with no map on the scorecard made it tricky to know where to aim on the tee off for some holes. Knowing the course as I do now, wouldn't have this issue again and would love to come back to play here again. Restaurant served good food with friendly bar staff

Fantastic experience: We held a wake here in the amphora suite - it was really wonderful. I would definitely recommend them for a private event . Great food for a buffet sandwiches, cakes , scones , and endless tea & coffee. We were helped by a lovely young woman called Molly - she was fantastic and helpful, as were her two other female colleagues who looked after us so well. And fully accessible too - was really easy for our elderly crowd and a wheelchair user. Very happy with our event and the staff

Negative experience: Waste of time and money! Range is constantly running out of balls, balls are awful quality! The course is in such a bad state! Greens are awful, bunkers are full of weeds So many bunkers under repair but look like they have been like that for years!

Lexden Wood Golf Club

Thank you for your feedback, and I’m sorry to hear about your recent experience at the course. We completely understand your frustration . Please be assured that the new ownership is fully aware of these issues, and we’ve already begun a renovation program. Over the coming months, we are focused on making significant improvements to the course, including addressing the quality of the greens, bunkers, and other facilities. This is an ongoing process, and while we acknowledge that progress may seem slow at times, we are committed to investing in the necessary work to restore the course to a high standard. Regarding the balls and other equipment, we have 25,000 Stixon range balls expected next week along with new targets and lighting . We are confident if you do return then this will improve your experience moving forward. We are confident you’ll begin to see positive changes soon. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we hope you will notice the difference in the near future.

Negative experience: possibly the worst driving range i’ve ever been too!! the range balls look like they haven’t been changed since 1852, the ball machine spat out 3 balls that were completely in half which is actually very dangerous. The mats have holes in and are like they have moles living in them. the trackman screens are way too close the the mats. Absolutely nothing catering towards left handed golfers either! Will take you about 25 minutes to get 50 balls as the ball machine is broken and the staff would rather chat and eat behind the bar instead of assisting you! I’m sure the course is very well looked after however the driving range i wouldn’t even waste your time with, would be better hitting balls into a farmers field!! Avoid at all costs!

Lexden Wood Golf Club

Thank you for your feedback, and I sincerely apologise for the experience you've had with the range. I completely understand your frustration with the previous conditions, and I want to assure you that the range is now under new ownership, and we are taking your concerns very seriously. As part of our ongoing improvements, we’ve placed an order for 25,000 new Srixon range balls, which will be arriving shortly. In addition, we’re planning to install new targets , lighting and mats within the next couple of weeks to enhance the overall experience. We’re committed to making significant improvements, and we hope you’ll start to see the positive changes soon.

Apologies for the previous owners lack of investment. We as new owners have new range balls, mats, targets and lighting all within the next two weeks.Hopefully you will come back.

Negative experience: I share the comments of others, the place could be great but the whole place doesn’t have an identity or structure of what it wants to be. Is it a golf course with a driving range or a sports bar with a golf shop attached or a children’s playgrounds with plastic dinosaurs. Very sad to see this place in such a state as it used to have an identity and golfers loved coming here. Might explain why all the golfers have moved away now to other courses near by. I went to the restaurant to catch up with friends and order breakfast sandwich and coffee (which shouldn’t be too hard to get right! I was wrong they struggled to make a coffee (it did have milk, so perhaps that was the problem) the sandwich arrived by airmail as it was chucked on the table with no knife or fork or condiments. That was before a little fire in the kitchens and smoke alarms going off. The best thing to do would be to sack all managers as they are responsible for allow this to happen (when all bar staff are in the kitchen discussing what they did the previous night and very loudly, that means we can’t order or be served) retrain staff in how to treat a paying customers which should lead to more customers coming backs. One more thing best to walk into the car park from the main road as there are so many potholes your alloys will get damaged as they are deep potholes. Again this could easily be fixed as you have the manpower with all the green-keepers along with the hardcore to fix the holes.

Lexden Wood Golf Club

Thank you for your detailed feedback. I sincerely apologise for the experience you’ve had and completely understand your concerns. It’s clear that several areas of the facility have not met your expectations, and I deeply regret the issues you've encountered. Please rest assured that the new ownership is fully committed to addressing all the problems you've highlighted. The potholes in the car park have been fixed, and we are actively investing in improvements throughout the facility. For example, the driving range will soon be upgraded with 25,000 new Srixon range balls, new targets, and mats, all of which will be in place within the next couple of weeks. I also apologise for the service issues you faced in the restaurant. This is certainly not the level of service we expect, and we are taking immediate steps to retrain staff to ensure a better experience for all customers. We are also focusing on creating a clearer and more cohesive identity for the facility as a whole, so it meets the needs of golfers, visitors, and families alike. We truly appreciate your feedback as it helps us to improve, and we are dedicated to restoring the facility to a place golfers can once again enjoy. We hope you will allow us the opportunity to demonstrate the improvements we are making.

Negative experience: Honestly shocking driving range management and lack of customer service. People are getting frustrated with the inability to organise ball pick ups - scheduling if any, at peak times so the course is closed or offering no play at all. Yet management do not care and continue to run this place into the ground. Perhaps listen to the customers and try to find a middle ground, especially if cost is the driving factor for not providing suitable services.

Lexden Wood Golf Club

Thank you for your detailed feedback. I sincerely apologise for the experience you’ve had and completely understand your concerns. Please rest assured that the new ownership is fully committed to addressing all the problems you've highlighted. The driving range will soon be upgraded with 25,000 new Srixon range balls, new targets, and mats, all of which will be in place within the next couple of weeks.

Positive experience: Course isn't too bad, not the best in terms of maintenance but you pay for what you get. The range tracker definitely needs recalibrating

Dale Hiscock 1 year ago

Negative experience: Feels so old and dated. Yesterday we tried to go to the driving range at 1:30pm in the afternoon and was told we couldn’t for another 1.5 hours which seemed so strange on a peak Saturday afternoon. We played mini golf which was very expensive. The course has seen better days, Mouldy with holes everywhere. The track man range freezes and wouldn’t let you play courses on it. Very disappointed and with other ranges just as close for me I wouldn’t be rushing back here.

Scott Moir 1 year ago

Negative experience: This is the 2nd time I've come to this place and had problems! 1st time was I had booked a golf buggy for a round of golf due to an injury and was told once we drove 40mins to get there that it wasn't charged but buggies went out after we teed off. 2nd time I arrived today to take my son to the golf range to be told that there was no golf balls and it would be an half hour wait due to the machine not working. Waiting half hour went back to be told it could be 2 or 3 hours as they have to wait for the range to be empty to collect the golf balls. I really don't understand why she couldn't tell me this when I first arrived. Over 2 hours in total wasted and my son was really disappointed. I wouldn't mind but they hadn't even posted anything on there website informing people that there was an issue. I would stay away from here and use somewhere else. My wife was going to buy me membership for my birthday but I've said I will look else where due to the poor customer service.

Christopher G 1 year ago

Negative experience: So much potential but complete lack of care. It's a great location, with facilities that could be excellent, but just being left to get worse and worse. The driving range is poor condition, with poor quality mats and tees, none of which face straight down the range. The trackers work well but there aren't any actual targets or distance markers that equate to what's on the screen, just the odd traffic cone or broken flagpole really. And this is all if you can get on the range. Multiple times, despite advertising being open until 10pm, you can turn up anywhere from 7 and be told they are out of balls. What possible reason does a professional run driving range have for running out of balls 3 hours early midweek. I can only assume it's because the balls have all started disintegrating completely given that they are generally shocking quality anyway even by driving range standards. Plus now the store has closed down too, which is a real shame. Overall just disappointing. It's all there on a plate for them, full 18 hole course, driving range, bar and restaurant, mini golf. It could be an ideal location for new and experienced golfers alike, as well as groups and families. But it just seems like they don't care enough to actually run it. Oh and while I think the pricing for the range etc could be fair (if it's ever open) don't look at the membership fees. Nearly £1000 they're charging members! That money can get you a hell of a lot better.

Fantastic experience: Very surprised as restaurant pretty big and good loos great. Only had coffee but will be back

Negative experience: So much potential, but never any tees in the bays, the balls are often split / knackered, the staff are nice enough they just need to sort out those issues and it can be a top place to go.

Positive experience: Nice course, affordable, good value.

Anthony Fairburn 1 year ago

Negative experience: To whoever is running this club, one question 'Are you trying to run it into the ground'? I've lost count of the times I've been, and you have NO range balls and no one to collect them, and when you do, to be honest, the balls are SHOCKING. I played the course in the last week and have to say it was in better condition than I've seen before, but it is still a long way off what it used to be. If the current owners/management aren't bothered, I honestly see this place closing soon.

D C 1 year ago

Negative experience: No point going past 7pm as they never have range balls and some of the staff are rude to boot.

Joe Gregory 1 year ago

Negative experience: Last 3 times I’ve been there’s been no balls, I went today at 3:30pm and no balls sign at the front. Was told one other time that they were going to close the range between 3-5 to collect the balls, if they do this daily then don’t put that the driving range is open during these hours. Waste of my time driving their and everyone else’s who do the same Added to the review - been 4 times since, haven’t had balls once, asked the day before when they have balls, he said before 10:30. Get there at 10 and told they have closed it until 12. Going somewhere else until they sort it out

Russell Wheeler 1 year ago

Negative experience: Not going to waste my time here again. They seem to run out of balls very often. Seems badly run.

matt smith 1 year ago

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed to be turned away at 1930 due to a lack of balls when the facility is open until 2200. I was even willing to wait but was told they weren’t able to collect balls again that evening. Even more frustrating is that the staff said this is an extremely common occurrence and has been reported to the management team who continue to fail to address this issue.

Stephen Cooper 1 year ago

Negative experience: The last 3 times I have tried to use the driving range with my children, there have been no balls (apart from the thousands out on the range). The first time we waited after being told that they would be collected ‘in about an hour’ but nobody bothered so we left. Same situation twice more in the past 2 weeks.

Fantastic experience: Great team in kitchen of the Restaurant with excellent & friendly service from all of the team. Nice chill out place, definitely worth going down to!

Craig Handford 1 year ago

Negative experience: 3 attempts in a row the range has run out of balls. When they did refill an unusual number were unplayable. (Split or missing chunks).

Isaac Beton 1 year ago

Negative experience: Fairly average range and poorly maintained course. Staff are rude and there are rarely any balls. Wouldn’t recommend

Timothy Riach 1 year ago

Positive experience: For the price and considering its a pay and play course, it is not that bad. The tee boxes, however, do need major work. Also, the greens are terrible, they both need watering, reseeding and rolling to make them truly usable.

Dan G 1 year ago

Negative experience: Range hardly ever has balls and when they do the balls are cracked and look about 50 years old. There's rarely any tees. The course has gone downhill in past couple of years, tea boxes are just bumpy / sandy mounds, and the greens are in awful condition. Shame as it has great potential...

Lewis Creech 1 year ago

Negative experience: The last 4 times I have visited lexden to use the range there has been no balls left , I also went tonight around 18:00 and no balls again so it was a waste of time travelling there. I still have 2 tokens to use so lexden get the balls collected or fix the problem as I think there is a few people that feel the same way.

James Smith 1 year ago

Negative experience: I've never seen greens in such poor condition. A mixture of bare mud and tufts of uncut grass all on the same putting surface. And the tee boxes are just as bad. We've played here a few times over the last few years as its a good meeting point for us but this time was the last. It's a cheap round of golf at £25 a round but that still feels like robbery for the atrocious condition of the place. It's a shame as they have everything there for a decent day out but the range is pretty poor and the course is almost unplayable. Luckily most of the bunkers are GIR as they're like a building site too.

Vero Lusso 1 year ago

Positive experience: There's no shop that's why it's 4 star

Charles. W. 1 year ago

Positive experience: The staff were nice, the whole place looked great. Great price of balls for the trackman range. Some range balls were abit old and scuffy but overall was a good practice session.

Lewis Anderson 1 year ago

Negative experience: Course is big, but badly mapped/signposted so expect to get lost on your first go round - a few holes you will have to guess which way the green is when they are out of sight a few times. Also had a bad experience with some members (large group of women) insisting we had to let their 3 groups play through, expect some entitled older people out here - I did contact the manager to discuss this but he's ignored my emails. And yes, the bunkers are dreadful, pray that you don't have to play from them.

Dean Allen 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Really good fun, great course and really good value.

Simon Crompton 1 year ago

Positive experience: Nice tea room and service. Fun crazy golf course. Driving range; not all bays have working trackman trackers. Range balls are in poor condition. Range clubs are in poor condition not enough club availability. This could be a great place if they made some simple upgrades and performed some maintenance. Can't speak for condition of the course.

Dan Woodruff 1 year ago

Positive experience: We booked the driving range but they had run out of balls. Not at ideal experience! They did let us play on the mini golf for a reduced price (in the dark).

Fin Busby 1 year ago

Negative experience: first time going to this driving range, told that it would be 30 minutes till all balls are collected. 30 minutes pasted and asked them how much longer and then told me we have to wait till everyone has finished there bucket and then it will be another 20 mins for everything to be sorted! No the best experience

James Wright 1 year ago

Negative experience: All the potential, none of the execution. 2nd time on the trot in the last month I've been to the range and they have run out of balls. An hour to wait. Ridiculous. If it wasn't so close i would never ever go.

Robert Seager 1 year ago

Negative experience: 4th time I've been down the "golf range" and there's been no "golf balls"

Gary Walker 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience, driving range, food Excellent

Tanya 1 year ago

Negative experience: 3rd time in a row where we have arrived and there are no golf balls at a range!! Was told they wouldn’t be going out to collect them again. Bearing in mind this was 18:45 and the range is meant to be open until 22:00, a complete waste of time on 3 occasions. There is mess everywhere, when they are available the golf balls look like they’ve been chewed by a dog. The limited staff that are there can’t be bothered to manage poor behaviour of others which ruin it for the majority of visitors. The place has really gone down hill in the last 12 months which is a real shame specifically given how central it is.

Tom Healy 1 year ago

Negative experience: It’s a shame to even leave this review as the staff, food, internal facilities, etc are good…. But the golf has gone down hill; travelled up multiple evenings to uncover the tractor collecting the balls is unusable / broken; can’t let it pass once.. but 4-5 times in the last 2 weeks making a wasted trip just becomes unacceptable. On top of that, paid £80 for a 2 ball with a buggie which on the surface is “ok” but the course is in horrendous shape considering it’s peak season…... unusable bunkers, no tee banks with yardages, poorly kept greens / fairways, and limited signage directing you between holes… the core part of your offering is GOLF and that’s going down hill… no pro shop, poorly kept course, and a driving range which is a lottery if it’s even operational.. they even have the audacity to offer a yearly subscription of £500 to use it unlimited.. yet it doesn’t even work.. envisage people are unsubscribing to that model. It’s a real shame and I hope the owners reinvest in the course / golf facilities as it seems like there pushing their money in party games and a mini golf course than their primary offering.. feel sorry for the members!

ETB Bodytech 1 year ago

Negative experience: Absolute dive. Everytime i go they never have any balls at the driving range not to mention the actual range i mean come on no rubber tees in the mats, mats are all uneven. The trackman system is great but hard to get the most out of it when the balls have been in a lake 10 years and the grass is so long your lucky to get and roll out of your shots absolute waste of time. Lets get onto the course absolute trash putting area by the 1st tee more humps and dandelions that grass. The fairways throughout are terrible hard to tell where the actual fairway is if they exist its more of a rough and heavy rough. The bunkers are disgusting half of them are just filled with grass the others are all full of mud and under gur in the middle of summer. The greens are a joke the surface resembles more of what should be the fairway full of brown patches. Finer details took the piss abit washed my ball in a cleaner on the 10th hole and my ball had black thick slime all over it from what i could only assume was 10 year old water it would have been cleaner using the river. Safe to say i wont be returning to what used to be a beutiful golf course and facilities

Positive experience: Nice range, course is a nice layout but in desperate need of some TLC

Bradley Allen (Bradders) 1 year ago

Positive experience: Been to the range a number of times and the facilities, laser tracking and games are great. However when paying for 100 range balls and having 10-15 of them being cracked and the rest being so worn they don’t perform leaves it a poor experience. Their also needs to be a cone or marker put out on T-1 to T-11 as their is a lot of guess work to be done when playing games like capture the flag.

Ben Allen 1 year ago

Positive experience: Trackman in the bays is great but the targets have no relevance to anything on the range so hard to know where to aim, making the minigames difficult to play. Lots of tees missing and the ball baskets have no handles! Condition of the balls is generally poor and toilets were a real state last time I was there. Food and drink is well priced though.

Tony Baker 1 year ago

Negative experience: I did email this venue to provide feedback but sadly no response. Only ever used the driving range, and have done so twice. Have to say I thought the facilities were really disappointing. Website states you can hire clubs however all that is available is a bunch of random clubs most of which are broken. There were no drivers which is what we wanted to use. If you can’t hire clubs, then don’t put it on your website, it’s just a lie. I’m a newbie to golf so I don’t want to buy a set of clubs yet, so hiring clubs while I try the sport is vital. Sadly my experience means I will most likely not return and I imagine others will feel the same. The tracking system is ok but doesn’t always work and even cut out half way through for us. Staff were friendly enough.

Ian Brown 1 year ago

Negative experience: Greens woefull cut grass left everywhere off the fairways bunkers don’t even go there

Ben Wills 1 year ago

Positive experience: Overall very good and reasonably priced for a Saturday round of golf. A few things that let it down: Signage. Come on LW- not everyone knows where they’re going. As a first timer on this course I struggled to see where the next tee was on some holes. And no map of the hole often meant we’re aiming into the distance on a hit and hope. Past the ninth hole, only holes 14 and 18 are marked. Secondly: grass clippings on the edge of the fairway. Most users of this course aren’t keeping it clean and staying on the fairway. Hunting for your ball in a pile of grass cuttings is dull. Clear the clippings out and create a compost heap off course somewhere. I’ve most used the driving range here which is excellent. DR membership is hideously overpriced and not set at the right point. 250 balls per week?? Who is visiting that often?? Find a better middle ground for a weekly user. The popularity of the range means often I don’t use it now as it’s a queue to get a bay. Overall a challenging but fun course that I will return to. A couple of small adjustments would make this really positive.

Noah Harris 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: The course is well kept and great to play on. The driving range is always tidy and easy to work.

Chad Allmark 1 year ago

Positive experience: Played here a few times, and for the price you pay, you can't really complain, but the green are not the best and can't really tell the difference between fairway and rough. Drivering range and food is really good, though.

Sid Hunt 1 year ago

Negative experience: Wow, went to today, run down, dirty and unloved is a mild review, the mens toilets had one out of order toilet and the other was in a disgusting state, fecal matter on the rim and a broken down flush to boot. Everything is grubby and broken like the pool cues. The trackman indoors has seen better days and the bar is under stocked, no soft drinks and the coke machine serves more carbonated water than coke flavour. Someone needs a kick up the bum or this place is going down in a very short time. Such a shame, this place was kept perfect under the Playgolf team, they would be so disappointed to see what’s happened to their good work.

Perry Foakes 1 year ago

Negative experience: Investment in the club is clearly focused on social side rather than the golf. I hope that starts to change soon. The course: Shocking. First time I played it but I wouldnt recommend even though it's cheap and it's my local course. There's plenty of courses around in much better condition and around the same price. For a course with such a strange layout, signage is non-existent for where to go for the next holes and next to no plaques on the tee to confirm which hole you're on. Fairways have been cut by Stevie Wonder but somehow the greens are in ok condition compared to the rest of the course although not a high bar is set there. The range: Was improved to Trackman in the last year or so but this is probably still the worst range I have come across. All this money invested but they don't buy new golf balls... Why!? - Every other ball is cracked! The tracing system is also way off and so it's pointless using this range. The 'local lounge': Seems good and plenty to do but the last couple times I've gone to use it, it's not been open despite their site saying it is and allowing you to book online. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 simply because the local lounge seems a really good idea once it's up and running properly

Fantastic experience: Wonderful golf club, for the old and young. As a venue for an party, good food plus a very friendly atmosphere.

Chris Barclay 1 year ago

Negative experience: Seems like this place is being run into the ground. The course is in a very poor state (greens with weeds overtaking the grass, tees in poor state), the driving range is terrible. Trackman is not calibrated to targets (minor), the “new” balls that were promised are used beyond the life of the balls (major issue, honestly, the worst range balls I’ve ever seen in my 30years of playing). Not sure if this is a new ownership issue or something else. I was considering joining up until I actually played there and used the facilities.

Negative experience: I don’t leave reviews but after 6 times of turning up at the driving range with no golf balls available I'm getting fed up and have given up !! Such a great set up, a lot of money spent to get this place going and now they don’t care, s club 7 are running it with not a clue in the world, more interested in their phones checking snap chat than working, glasses and rubbish everywhere, my mrs has a clear up while I have a practice if they have any balls available, could be such a good place if managed properly but he hasn’t got a clue, sack the lot of them and get a decent manager who cares about the business rather than himself !

Positive experience: Foot golf is very disappointing grass not cut signs missing

Chris Tubby 1 year ago

Negative experience: Driving range - often no balls. Course is okay, however, some tees missing hole information - distance, even hole number! Greens are full of weeds and lots of GUR. Its pretty cheap, easy to get on and the staff are friendly. Oh, and no course planners/maps, just scorecard!

Keiron Beattie 1 year ago

Negative experience: the holes on the course are good, but the course overall is poorly maintained, the fairway on this course would count as rough on any other course, the ground keeper should be sacked, £25 for 18 holes this time of the year is clearly a representation of the course, would not recomend

Adie Ward 1 year ago

Negative experience: Rough is extremely rough & deep, fairways are more like being in the rough. Lost so many balls due to grass cuttings being left on the fairways & jungle like rough. Not impressed!! Used to be so good

Fantastic experience: Green keepers are doing a great job keeping the course playable during the wetter months. The greens are pure. Looking forward to playing again when the weather improves.

Negative experience: Place has gone to pot. Started my golf journey here and used to love it. Now the staff are useless and unhelpful. You may aswell be hitting ping ping balls with the 'new' batch they just brought in. Tracking Screens dont work properly. Only good thing about this place is the steak bakes, hense the one star. Shout out to the one staff member that cares in the kitchen, thats always friendly and happy to help anyone, even if it means picking the balls up outside when they run out, even if his supposed to be in the kitchen. If you want a decent driving range go to Essex, this place needs new ownership.

Negative experience: I really didn’t want to leave a negative review, however somethings just need to be aired. There is a lot of potential here, but like so many places, it’s just not been maintained. Course is overall 4/10, very rough in areas but ok in some. Wouldn’t actually take much to make it look nice. It’s absolute insanity that they don’t have more signs up to help navigate the course. They have been told this for years, and have opted not to address, why?! The greens were well maintained. In summary, if you love your golf and are seeking a nice golf course to play, there are much better out there. If you want to have a hack about and want something cheap and cheerful, this place will suffice. I was disappointed. And my guess is that this place will be closed in the next 5/10 years if they don’t get the right management in place, and a cash injection.

Negative experience: Golf balls on the range were terrible, all different makes , not very clean, a few cracked ones. Girls in the cafe were friendly and polite.

Positive experience: Lovely place to relax and have fun with friends or family. Driving range and mini golf will keep you busy and the upstairs entertainment is phenomenal .

Positive experience: Cool driving range, automated golf ball dispenser. Measured ball distance with several games to play with friends or family. Plenty of fun to be had. Can't hire individual clubs to have a hit, so bring your own with you.

Positive experience: Great course. However, today's 3 star review is due to the lack of course information whilst on the course. Hole 8 has absolutely no indication that it is hole 8, which is confusing as a 1st time player. Yard markers are non-existent throughout the course. A tee box information plaque on each hole would enhance the experience of the round.

Fantastic experience: My work colleagues and I attended for our Christmas party. The staff were efficient and friendly. The food was served, in a timely manner. Unfortunately the whole of Stanway suffered a power cut. We tried to keep going , playing charades and singing, then the staff informed us that the power was unlikely to come back before 1.30 am. The staff served the desserts by phone torch and took drinks orders. They were calm and made the best of a bad situation. Although most people left early a good atmosphere was maintained. Well done.

Negative experience: Played a round in early October. No fault of theirs, but everything after the 6th hole was closed because of flooding. Unfortunately we weren't told at the time of booking, or when we arrived on the day. We were lucky to find out from a senior member, who happened to join us for our round. Mentioned this to reception when we got back, as I was a little frustrated paying £70 for 6 holes. They took our details and promised us "at least one free round" as compensation. Said someone would be in touch. That was over a month ago and I've not heard anything. I've emailed twice, and been ignored.

Fantastic experience: My son had his 7th birthday party here with his friends. They played a round of mini-golf, followed by delicious wood fired pizzas in the restaurant afterwards. It was excellent value for money. The staff were exceptional and made the experience really special for everyone. The pizzas are so good, we will be coming back for more!

Negative experience: Shocker!! Turned up for the driving range on a Thursday night, one member of staff on and get told they had no balls What a complete waste of time!! Shocking!.

Positive experience: Nice place. Good concept and idea to bring golf club together with family entertainment area and a restaurant / bar. The only negatives are that the upkeep on things like the pool table, table tennis and golf sim is poor. For example all the pool queues are broken or in generally poor condition. The clubs for the golf aim are mainly left handed. Also it’s generally quite expensive to rent tables, table tennis etc. So if you can, bring your own equipment and plenty of money.

Negative experience: I found today very poor Arrived and paid £35 for round then some members then told me only six holes available to play Should have more up-to-date information

Fantastic experience: Great course. Great facilities. The range is so open and clear. The course challenging and well maintained.

Negative experience: Played here at the weekend and it’s safe to say it will be the last time. We booked the round and 2 buggies and then got there to be told they’d made a mistake and only had one available. They said they had one coming back just after our tee time so they drove it to us on course. It lasted about 6/7 holes before dying. We were then told we would get a refund for the buggy when we got back only to be told they don’t do refunds and they would give us a free buggy next time. There will not be a next time! Poorly ran and wasn’t overall impressed with the course either. Biggest issue is the staff though. Unprofessional and didn’t see my to have a clue what was going on.

Fantastic experience: I only use this venue for the range as I no longer can play the links. Café is also a joy to visit. Well worth spending time with your family and/or friends here.

Positive experience: Decent enough. Be nice to get someone come over and take drink orders as it can be a little bit of a walk to bar then range. Would be in their best interest aswell as more sales.

Negative experience: A bit disappointed on the the general condition of the course from the last time i played there, greens good but need better signage from green to tee.

Fantastic experience: We went to the dinosaur crazy golf this morning. Absolutely loved it. Despite looking a bit tired we had a fun time. Perfect for adults and children. The price wasnt over the top. Highly recommend, it was a lovely way to spend an hour on a lovely Bank Holiday Monday.

Negative experience: Well done Lexden, four ball booked for today with buggies as one of our party can't walk an 18 hole. Went to book in and apparently no buggies booked for us, even though when booked last Thursday, was confirmed twice that they were. Thanks for mucking up our Bank holiday Monday, like others, we are all hard working people with limited time and obviously too late to book elsewhere.

Negative experience: Used to play here frequently when it was under the Playgolf brand. It looks like it has changed management in the last year and as a result the condition of the course has deteriorated. Semi rough and rough was very long. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were not in great shape. Looks like most of the money is being pumped into the new Trackman driving range and entertainment spaces.
