Negative experience: The gym is cheap and is never ridiculously busy. BUT…. The equipment is tired, dated and in a poor state of repair. Serious refurb and maintenance required.

Positive experience: Great gym, it's rarely too busy so you'll mostly be able to get and bench or machine, the music can be a little quiet at times though

Fantastic experience: Very clean and staff are very helpful

Negative experience: Extremely overpriced branch

Positive experience: I've visited this gym a handful of times and need to use the gym for most of the year. The location is ideal. The gym does have limited machines and limited space. I have used other pure gyms where the space is utilised better with more machines and where they are placed. Rayleigh pure gym has so much potential but it definately needs a revamp. Having said this, most people who go here come across polite and friendly.

Positive experience: It's ok. Massive plus is it is 24 hour if you are someone working unsociable hours. Equipment variety is average. Unfortunately the showering and changing facilities are very small and it is massively awkward trying to use them. Overall for the price point, kind of what you would expect

Negative experience: Under 16 year old irish traveller kids were allowed in by a younger staff member at 9pm yesterday. Thought it was irresponsible company practice and I'm sure other members felt harassed. These kids looked 12 but were allowed to roam about like it was a playground.

Positive experience: Nice little gym and always clean but often very busy even out of peak times.

Positive experience: Had membership for a long time, loved the gym & classes, always very clean & well maintained. Have now cancelled as there are no classes on a Sunday, the Zumba stopped which was amazing & there seems to be massive staff turn over so the classes aren’t consistent, my daughter is still a member which is fine if you like the weights & machines but being older & menopausal I prefer the classes especially those less intense ones. Hopefully will rejoin in the future.

Fantastic experience: Good value for money. It's gets busy during pick times as usual but still manageable. Gym is kept vey clean. It has good cleaning stations and you see the cleaner around often. Machines in good condition, good music and lockers and showers available. Also changing rooms. One one room upstairs for classes there is also big space in the ground floor.

Negative experience: Staff are great but gym is way too small for the amount of people they let have a membership there only 1/2 machines of each type. Spend more time waiting for a machine that you do actually working out.

Negative experience: I used a day pass and didn't know how to use the equipment so left soon after. I decided to give it another go and I signed up over a week ago and haven't used it once as classes are always booked with waiting lists and the gym is packed according to the app. I went to the southend puregym and it's huge, with lots of classes and far cheaper. I have no idea why this tiny gym is so expensive and why I am paying a premium to not being able to use it!

Positive experience: Needs an update getting a little tired inside

Negative experience: Not enough equipment in there for the price they charge will travel a bit further 2 basildon in future double the size and double the equipment for a lot less a month

Fantastic experience: This gym may be smaller but is so much more friendly then the other larger gym nearby. The staff and the classes are so friendly, upbuilding and informative. And all for a reasonable price and the cleanliness is spot on. keep up the good work guys ️‍♀️

Positive experience: Decent house of gains this. There's a good avaliablity and varaity of equipment and free weights, for putting in those reps (for jesus). That being said I wish there were 1 or 2 more machines. One for tricep extention would be nice. Two well-stocked vending machines are towards the back with not-exactly-extortionate pricing and offer you all you should possibly need for your mass to increase/maintain/permanent bulk/shred...Mass. Upstairs is some dance place idk--it's not upper body--although there are some machines to the side. Speaking of cardio that's like 65% of the gym which has many treadmills and whatnot. Good, clean toilets, showers and lockers are there aswell, including hotel hairdryers.

Fantastic experience: Just an amazing gym

Negative experience: Was wrongly banned one time when someone walked in behind me without my knowledge. Surely the person doing that should have been banned. Now my account has been suspended again for seemingly no reason and none of the Puregym support works. I cannot use the remind me of my pin as the function for that is broken. They do not have a customer service line. Their support does not reply on the weekends. So my membership that I pay nearly £40 a month is completly useless until the manager who's email I had to hunt for replies and sorts it out. They have an overseas CCTV team who take the p*ss out of regular members by giving them no warning and banning them as they please for minor things. Terrible quality gym, equipment is poor quality for such a big gym chain. Go to Stackhouse fitness across the road for a much better gym for less money.

Negative experience: Busiest gym in the area, Bought a membership before I checked it out. Went at 8.30pm for a session and genuinely no room at all almost all the equipment was in use.

Fantastic experience: Great local puregym. Everything you need. Changing area is a little peculiar but manageable. PLEASE BRING YANGA WATER TO THIS GYM thank you :D

Fantastic experience: Probably my favourite PureGym! Had my first 1-2-1 session with James today, was amazing worked me hard, very happy and so excited for my next session! Thank you! The whole gym is well looked after and very inviting! Also loving the classes!

Negative experience: The website says you must be 16+ when I know a girl that comes here and she is 14 years old

Positive experience: I'd say medium sized gym - fine for the beginners and intermediate "gym goers" dumbells only up to 40kg however have plently of barbells and plates lots of squat racks. Upstairs very impressive and clean single locked door built in shower toilets. About 5 or 6 of these as well. Gym is very clean one of the most cleaned gyms I've seen. 5/5 for hygiene. Staff are very friendly 5/5 and nearly all the gym members seem respectful and friendly. Only 4/5 as serious bodybuilders wont have enough weight/equipment to suit.

Negative experience: i cancelled my memebership a few months ago and no puregym has taken £50 out my account?

Negative experience: Nice small gym experience but now massively increased their prices. There are a lot of cheaper options out there. Shame.

Positive experience: Good value and all new equipment.

Positive experience: Nice new little gym. Great rig for pull ups. Does get busy at peak hours though.

Fantastic experience: Nice little gym with enough for a decent workout, I go here a few times a week even though I have tried other larger gyms locally. Staff are always friendly and the place is generally clean and tidy. The size works in it's favour as you'll soon get to know the regular faces there.

Negative experience: No hack squat, no calf raise and dumbells only go up to 40kg. Only good thing about this gym is it's open 24/7

Fantastic experience: Probabky the best gym in the area! It has everything you could want from a gym, extremely clean and hygienic (even before covid), friendly and knowledgeable staff, never too busy and 24/7 is a lifesaver!
