Fantastic experience: It's now closed unfortunately

Negative experience: This gym has apparently now closed but has continued to collect my monthly Direct Debit. I found out from my friend who was also a member and they claimed they contacted members to inform them of the closure - neither my friend or myself received any communication. No response to email comms and number out of order.

Positive experience: Nice place overall

Negative experience: Overcharged me on direct debit three times. The second time they told me that the problem was fixed but then charged me a third time. When trying to get the money back they told me there was no evidence that I had been overcharged a third time. Apparently this also happened to other members of the gym so I would double check the correct amounts have come out. The gym is extremely run down and by the time I left the pool was closed and the women’s only gym. There was black mould covering everything, paint and plaster peeling off the dripping wet walls and they had swapped the changing rooms around so that the women were using the mens changing rooms which smelt of urine. I have a hard time believing that any of the most recent 5 star reviews are real as this gym needs to close and refurbish the building asap. I have since gotten back the money but had to really chase them for it.

Fantastic experience: It's deceptive how big it is from the outside, but has a lot on offer. Pool, sauna, free weights, resistance machines, cardio, calisthenics, boxing and a dance studio not much more you could ask for. Certain sections are a bit dated, but still functional. Staff are very welcoming and always happy to help. Overall 4.8/5 great place to train and the few times I visited definitely underutilised, so no massive ques

Negative experience: Never ever come back , it wil be my lesson not to be involved with contract , especially they made me sign 3 YEARS!!!! Just dont sign in to this place , very expensive, The Gym East Croydon much better. Now they gave me such a hassle with Debt collection team

Positive experience: There’s good facilities in this gym to use but some of the machines hardly work, I feel like the gym is run down it could look better if they were to close and re open in my opinion. They could do with new water dispensers. Some of staff here are nice but when you walk into the building they don’t greet.

Fantastic experience: Visit gym regularly and found that isac is very helpful and friendly.

Negative experience: Disgracefull shocking for the price needs a good clean repairing of machines and the water and shower rooms smell abit funky to say the least steam and shower rooms smell of sewage and the place is falling apart alot of leaks and dampness if your attending when its rains take a umbrella many much better gyms for half the price in the area and water is no good for skin or health found many small health problems resolved since leaving this dump say hello to the local junkies on the way in as this is there old gathering spot also the building next door/connected (thier one building shareds) has been closed down due to it not been fit to been open to the public so dont be surprised if this dump also close soon peace

Negative experience: No respect for members. Swimming pool always holding by classes for non members especially Saturdays and Sundays. Poor hygiene quality.

Negative experience: I visited here with my brother to use gym and facilities , in the swimming pool it smelt you could see the pool water is rarely changed I saw plasters on the bottom of the pool made me feel sick , gym is dated most machines broken whole place is filthy not worth it

Negative experience: No Pool. No Sauna. No Steam room. No Jacuzzi, with these things not on offer and under construction its not worth the monthly fee. Cheaper gyms are in and around Croydon without the extras so why would pay more to get less.

Negative experience: Roof in leaking all over, speaker system doesn't work properly so the music hurts your ears at high base. It creates a new class of budget gyms.

Positive experience: Nice place to visit. What a place

Negative experience: Terrible gym. How this place currently has a four star rating is beyond my understanding. Half of the cardio machines are constantly broken: treadmills, cycling machines, rowing machines, cross trainers, just tons of broken machines that never get fixed. The changing rooms are disgusting. Extremely poor ventilation so everything is damp and mouldy, rusty and/or broken lockers, dirty, dark, cramped. Recently (Dec 22), the women's changing rooms were bad and the women complained so instead of actually fixing any of the problems they just swapped the changing rooms over and put the men in there instead! We've been there ever since. So despite the fact there are vastly more men and the changing rooms were deemed not sanitary enough for the women, the inveterate management decided to put the men in there instead, probably because they figured that as men we would not complain and just get on with it. If we men had any dignity at all we would quit en masse but the reality is there are no decent alternatives nearby.

Positive experience: Good facilities in a run down building - management clearly doing the best they can to renovate while keeping things going. A few out of order/dodgy machines but overall fine value for money.

Positive experience: Decoration at this establishment is very dated signs of damp on the walls of the men's changing room and there is also no parking provision on the premises. However there is a lot of gym equipments the staff are very helpful.

Negative experience: Gym closed sometimes without informing members classes getting cancelled many times in general looking to move elsewhere when my contract is over

Negative experience: Pool and changing rooms have mould, a lot of the gym equipment is broken. The place needs to close and refurbish

Positive experience: Very tired. In desperate need of a refurb. Condensation issues all over the place, causing mildew and damp on walls. The equipment needs to be replaced as those not working have been like that for a while.

Positive experience: Swimkids is great, not sure about anything else as it's a bit pricey

Negative experience: Staff are nice. Facilities still need to to get to a good standard. Leaking pipes/roof, old bikes and too many running machines not working for over 6 months. Pool, Sauna and steam work fine

Positive experience: Excellent value for money if you are interested in getting fit. Shame the swimming pool area is constantly occupied by people who use it as an alternative to Spain as they meet and keep the pool occupied just for chatting. Whoever complained in the previous reviews is free to go on another club and be charged over 50£

Negative experience: I went to this place 4 years ago and it was lovely.. The I decided to visit it again 3 days ago and I was shocked to what this place has become, its dirty. The swimming area needs serious work to be done it very unclean, I called the place and asked I'd their jacuzzi and swimming pool are operating I was told yes but when I got there and paid I was told the jacuzzi has not been in use for the past two yeas... Couldn't get a refund because I did not remember the name of the staff I spoke to.. It used to be a lovely place but now I really will never go there again...

Negative experience: The pool is not suitable for swimming. Half of the pool is just under knee deep and the facilities are not clean. The gym On the other hand is fabulous!

Positive experience: I go here for Swimkidz. The swimming lesson is great for my 4 month old but the venue is not the best. The toilets in particular need a refurb. That's an indication of the rest of the facility. Doesn't feel the most hygienic. It's not awful but I do feel icky letting my feet touch the floor.

Negative experience: I came up for a free tour by appointment. Sophie asked for 10 pounds. She said that I need to buy a pass, and the tour is not free. I don’t take my wallet with me to the gym, sorry. I am disappointed.

Negative experience: Staff are rude & the manager is hard to get hold of - Trying to cancel your membership here is tough. It took me 3 called in 2 weeks to speak to a manager about cancellation. This team is focussed on getting your money and signed up but not bothered about you once you've joined.

Negative experience: They are running scam of 4.99/ week. While registering they confirmed that if I don't like gym I can cancel. Now they are like you have to pay for 12 months even if you don't attend gym it would be deducted from your account. If I compare the equipments with the gym group east Croydon very less. Also few of the machines not in good condition. Due to social distancing again few of the machines cannot be used and that machines do not have duplicate if it. Dumbles are not in such a good condition. Only thing bus swimming pool if you wish to pay 20£ for it monthly I commented the same thing on their Facebook post so scared they are that they deleted the comment immediately. Lolz

Positive experience: Walls may need a bit of paint, but all the equipment you can want is available over 3 floors and not overly crowded. Staff are friendly and always helpful

Love the ladies only area although not all machines can be found there. Some corners of the gym need some work (repairs, paint, etc.) but happy to turn a blind eye considering all the positive aspects.

No cable machine, stairmaster and the free weight area is a joke.

Negative experience: Today it was my first and last time when I come to gym! Hygiene =1 ,Equipment =1, the water was everywhere it's terrible how to start warm up if you are 'wet' all ready water come from ceiling - was raining today haha also if you want a jump roper you must to find the places because ceiling is so low and if you want use studio even if is empty and no one use at that time. you must book end pay 25£

Negative experience: Terrible maintenance. Terrible short term membership prices they’ve insisted on only providing for members due to pending building lease coming to a close, but it’s been nearly two years now so members are out of pocket if you want to pay cash up front for the year which worked out cheaper than monthly or their current short term memberships. Management should still maintain the gym but it’s run down and not looked after well. The GM also installed CCTV in the pool area and didn’t inform women only members (mainly Muslim women who cannot be seen by men) that this new change took place so some of us found out by seeing the camera and after making inquiries were informed by the receptionist that male staff can see us on camera in the pool area. I complained that the lack of privacy for Muslim women was now at stake and that we should had been at least informed by email so we could make a decision whether to go swimming on a Sunday or not. No email or comms was circulated by the GM and it’s been almost 3 months.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym! I've never felt so at home in a gym, incredibly friendly staff and teachers, and a great range of classes on offer. I visit on my lunch breaks and always leave feeling better. Also it's such a perk having a pool at such a low monthly price

Positive experience: Decent gym, helpful staff, good facilities if not a bit dated. Partly because I think the gym is relocating at some point but definitely worth the membership fee! Excellent selection of classes to check out.

Positive experience: Basic but don't let that stop you visiting. Gum is well stocked and never crowded. Pool is a little small but if you don't mind laps it's a nice way to spend a lunch.

Positive experience: Going to this gym for half a year already. It's a good local gym. Good value for money. Everything that is needed for gym is there, I also like that it is a 3 floor building, not a basement like some gyms out there. Also I am working with a good personal trainer whom I trust. Staff is friendly. It also has a small swimming pool, not ideal, buy good to have after sauna and steam room. Giving 4 stars because it's a bit old, especially showers.

Positive experience: Friendly and friendly staff, lots off different classes on, l do yoga class's from 10am for an hour great teacher and feel great afterwards. Ladies changing rooms are very grubby could do with upgrading specially the lockers a lot look battered. Otherwise is a nice gym to visit and relax on Sunday mornings. I use l paysyou gym pay £6.20 to use the gym all day very good valuable and affordable.
