Positive experience: Affordable bouldering gym with enough routes for spending half a day there. The signing up process is quite extensive, especially one reads through all the rules and general conditions. It's worth noting that they do NOT rent climbing shoes!

Negative experience: Overly expensive for what it offers compared to other sports centre in the area and the staff are slow in setting up courts - meaning you often get 5-10 mins less time in a booking that what you pay for. This doesn't apply for whoever is next in line. Bad value.

Negative experience: For the 2nd time in 2 years one of my grandchildren has fallen off the climbing wall and because of the hardness of the mats has broken their arm (different 11/12 year old and both experienced climbers). Currently in Addenbrooke’s being operated on. Please change those mats!!

Fantastic experience: I love this sports center! Great trainers, attentive staff. On the first day, when I came here with my friend in search of a jacuzzi, we were given a detailed tour, thanks to which I started going to training, and then bought my first membership. Maintaining good physical shape is important for people who lead a healthy lifestyle. Of course, there are a few things that the center can do for the development but any way I recommend.

Negative experience: The gym is good for the price but it’s quite dirty, the toilets often don’t work, the lockers get stuck a lot and for some reason they end their memberships a day before the end of the month (which makes no sense?). I bought the membership for June but was not allowed in on the 30th of June because my card had already expired… quite annoying, especially because they had not communicated my membership would end a day early. The users are also very unhygienic, e.g. they don’t use towels and do not wipe down the equipment after getting it all sweaty.

Positive experience: Good routes with plenty of variation, the grading is a little hit and miss however.

Positive experience: A large, quite old sports complex. I liked that there was no deafening music like in some other gyms. A good selection of exercise equipment. But the interior is somewhat uncomfortable - I don't feel like coming back.

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience at Kelsey Kerridge Sport Center. I was offended by Manager Liam. She was unprofessional in many ways: _ Lack of communication _Lack of profissionalism –Lack of problem solving _Lack of customer managem _Lack of transparency Manager Liam's rude behavior was based on an arbitral decision and was biased against me. It is unacceptable for a professional to treat someone with indifference and contempt, particularly when it involves a boy.

Fantastic experience: Best climbing wall in Cambridge (it is smaller then the other but choice of routes is similar). Great, peaceful atmosphere for bouldering

Negative experience: Does not open till mid am!

Positive experience: I've been a member of the leisure centre for almost a year and in that time the shoulder press machine has been broken. There has been zero maintenance and there appear to be no attention given to the gym. The rock-climbing however is fantastic and the changing rooms and toilets are always clean. It would be good value for money if more care was put into the upkeep of the gym.

Positive experience: Brilliant affordable gym in Cambridge. Good selection of free weights, machines and cardio. Nice little sauna too for recovery. Only improvements would be earlier opening time and slightly concerning telephone mast on the building which can’t be great for health!

Positive experience: That is a good sports center as you can do and watch many different sports in one place. Two down points would be that first, if you have scheduled a session, keep in mind that I will likely end a bit early as they have to change the court if someone reserved it after you. The second one, as a volleyball player, the court isn't one of the best I've played on, kinda slippy and dusty due to all the sports.

Fantastic experience: Great venue for Roller Derby

Positive experience: Really nice gym with a range of facilities including a dedicated free weights gym, cardio focused gym overlooking the park, small sauna (different to one pictured on the website...not quite as nice but good enough) and small bouldering gym. The staff are friendly and generally the vibe is really good. My only improvement would be to please please please open earlier for those of us that need to work out before going to work!

Fantastic experience: As always Ian did another fantastic circuits class this Thursday lunchtime, great all round workout, he works you hard, great music but so fun time flies! Would highly recommend. All the staff are friendly and feel like family. The gym is well equipped and fabulous views over Parker’s Piece.

Negative experience: Only used the climbing facility. Modest in size but so busy that dismounting the wall became hazardous to both climber and spectators. Difficult to get on routes due to amount of people. The facility is incredibly dusty with chalk dust. It didn’t appear to have any noticiable forced ventilation or extraction; also not sure how often the mats are cleaned. This left me feeling wheezy by the end of the session. Other climbing gyms manage this much better. The building feels very run down which is disappointing for a city centre sports centre in a place like Cambridge. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Negative experience: Staff are unprofessional and rude. They clearly dont want to work here and are mean to asian and black people. They always set up the room late (sometimes even takes 20 minutes) and proceed to claim that they are allowed to do this in the agreement. The rooms are dirty and sticky. Stains would be around for a whole year

Negative experience: Very rude and unprofessional staff

Positive experience: Climbing wall is small but by far the cheapest in cambridge and has some good route setting with a lovely community of kind talkative climbers, however it is stuffy inside Upstairs gym is airy and light, with views over Parkers Piece, with good variety of cardio and weight equipment which is great for indoor runs and workouts with a view when weather conditions fall.

Positive experience: Good climbing facilities. Much better than any PureGym.

Positive experience: The room is small so it is a little bit dangerous to jump down. The people are nice. I got help and support from strangers. The setup is also interesting. Some difficulty levels are not accurate, I think. In general, I had a lot of fun.

Negative experience: Avoid at all costs if you are a climber. It's not very well maintained and the routes are lousy.

Positive experience: I just go to play badminton, the courts are great and the changing rooms are clean. Our court was double booked this week but we still got to play 50minutes and got a free court booking for next week. The staff is great and accommodating.

Fantastic experience: Ha un campo da pallacanestro molto grande (in realtà 2 attigui separati da una rete, e può quindi essere raddoppiato), come pure una sala per l'arrampicata. Sì estende su 3 piani, da cui si gode di una bella vista sull'antistante parco di Parker's Piece.

Fantastic experience: Staff at Kelsey Kerridge absolutely made my evening (Tuesday 18th Jan 2022) I was greeted at reception by attentive, friendly, polite and patient staff. After a few questions about our experience levels, we were given a run down of the rules and safety precautions. I wasn't in the sunniest of mood upon arrival at Kelsey Kerridge but was all but stopped in my tracks by the effortless A* attitudes of the staff on duty. I made a point to tell them just how welcome i felt and would like to send another thank you to Ian, Dan and Lewis.

Positive experience: Convenient in the city centre, but outdated. The lockers in the men's changing room are still only taking the old £1 coin that has been out of circulation since 2015...

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, loads of equipment in both Outlooks and Free-Weights Gym, Cybex, Hammer Strength, Watson. Very clean and no queueing to use any equipment. Also, roof top hot-tub overlooking to Parkers Piece and Sauna.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant place. Best facilities of anywhere in the area. Affordable for NHS / students too.

Positive experience: Pros: Cheap, central. Cons: Bouldering gym a bit unclean. Also staff left before official closing time, wouldn't take my reservation.

Negative experience: Strict staff on timings for start and finish, but rarely ever setup badminton courts on time. Badminton courts are always extremely dirty and they hardly ever clean them properly even when we asked - instead we have to clean them ourselves. Very expensive and provide no extra service.

Fantastic experience: Best gym if you’re looking to lift serious weights, also has a girls gym upstairs for if your idea of a workout is sitting on a machine. Bouldering room is great with a friendly community and frequent route changes. Wide variety of classes with a great intermediate yoga session.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with a view of Parker's Piece, weights room, classes, plus sports hall for things like basketball, football, badminton as well as a climbing wall. Also, friendly staff and loads of space so social distancing is much easier

Positive experience: Good sports centre in centre of Cambridge - not a very attractive building but nice inside

Positive experience: This sports centre is an excellent feature to cambridge. Has a good gym and some excellent facilities. I go for the climbing wall which is always fun and always busy. Other features include badminton and a jacuzzi. It is a little grubby perhaps and could use some renovation here and there.

Positive experience: Love the climbing wall and the instructor who took me round was very friendly and helpful. Reception staff were quite rude tho hence the subtraction of a star and minimum £5 on card come on guys its 2019

Fantastic experience: Great facilities here. Used the squash court and changing rooms and had everything I needed. Would have been good if they had a water fountain near the squash courts so that we didn't have to trek to the gym to get water in between games, but other than that everything was great. The staff were friendly and helpful and it looked like they were doing some good improvements to the climbing wall facilities.

Positive experience: Gym isn’t too expensive but the climbing wall is poorly maintained and holds don’t seem to be regularly cleaned. Also they don’t provide climbing shoe hire and allow climbing in trainers which isn’t particularly safe.

Negative experience: I am taking my daughter (7) to a Saturday dance class every week. Reception guy knows my face as I also used to be a member and come all the time. Daughter wanted a glass of water but I had no cash. What I did have was a Revolut MasterCard and Apple pay. Tried both of the automates machines. None would work. Approached reception. “We have a minimum of £5 for a card purchase”. “I just want a bottle of water.” I then suggested I pay £5 on the card and get £4 back and a bottle of water. It’s a debit card so no loss. “Sorry. No can do. Maybe try the swimming pool two floors down”. “Rules are rules”. And your rules suck.

Fantastic experience: Great staff love the gym and classes thank you

Fantastic experience: I always love coming to this gym, everywhere is clean and tidy and you get the impression the staff are all really proud to work here. There is a great range of equipment, the staff are knowledgable and you can work out to the level and intensity you wish to - there is both a general gym/weights area (Outlooks) and a more focussed free weights area, which means you don't feel inadequate next to some muscle-man! It is also very affordable, which is why I will travel some way to use the facilities. I also love the climbing wall as a different exercise option occasionally.

Negative experience: Some of the staff is unfriendly and the contract is quite unflexible.

Positive experience: Reasonably nice place for a game of basketball in Cambridge if you're looking for a court.

Positive experience: Excellent prices - I don't believe you could find a cheaper gym in Cambridge. This gives you the chance to try anything. I go to two classes regularly and love that I only pay when I attend - still cheaper than any block booked class I could find elsewhere. The changing rooms have recently been updated and are lovely. Fantastic view from the treadmills.

Positive experience: I went there this weekend, and the first impression is that is a nice place. They have nice stuff, but the men's toilets (from changing room) are not cleaned well (it's not a day thing)...The boulder room is small, but has a sufficient variety of the routes for most skills. Unfortunately most of the holds are in bad condition, withoutadhesion or good touch, dirty (lots of chalk)... I consider that very harmful and is easy to solve (changing or washing the holds!) I hope they do!. Edit 22/10/17 I come back one month afther the first comment, I'm happy to say they have clean it up and reorganise the routes, I enjoyed. I will repeat usually.

Negative experience: Pricey, long booking period and the facility is fairly old

Positive experience: The climbing wall is decent enough, for the only one in Cambridge. The route setters do some interesting problems but you might as well ignore their grade estimations, they are nonsense more often than not.

Negative experience: Good location, that is all. Expensive, old, rude staff and crowded facilities.

Positive experience: Good Gym, but too cold inside.

Positive experience: Good location inside Cambridge and friendly staff. The floor of the sports hall has been recently refurbished, which was great for a few weeks, but again it is not cleaned as it is required for such a place. So when playing volleyball, regular cleaning of the shoes is required, otherwise it gets quite slippy. It also does not help that many guests seem to wear outdoor running shoes in the hall. The boulder room is small, but has a sufficient variety of the routes for most skills. Unfortunately loose chalk is allowed which makes the place terribly dusty, I doubt it would be considered a safe workplace with such a high air pollution. This would be easy to solve by only permitting liquid chalk, and ban the chalk sacks. Otherwise the ventilation would require a huge upgrade to get rid of the dust. The opening times in the morning (never before 9Am) are very inconvenient for those who want to go shortly to the gym before work. I hope this will change soon, it is the main reason why I have not signed up yet, only used the pay-as-you-go you go options so far, which are a fair alternative but could be a little bit cheaper, especially for climbing.

Fantastic experience: Climbing wall is well equipped. Range of different difficulties and they swap it up every so often so it doesn't get boring. It's about £4 - £5 for a climb as a non member. There's also a mandatory safety demo before starting.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym with the best view in Cambridge, you can relax in the sauna and roof top hot tub overlooking the Parkers Piece after your workout...
