Positive experience: Decent amount of parking

Negative experience: It could be okay, but unfortunately it is very grubby, they have a Henry vacuum cleaner that cannot deal with all of the dirt and grime in the rubber matted area; very tatty gym equipment, padded panels are falling apart/torn/ripped; broken toilet seats stuck on with gaffer tape, mold spores around the toilet cubicle, overall incredibly unhygienic and dangerous.

Fantastic experience: Place to play badminton locally. Locals who play are friendly. Front of house staff are ok.

Fantastic experience: After 20 odd years of coming to this gym I thought I would write a review before the new pool arrives. I have always been received well by all the staff including cleaners and have had many good interactions. The badminton courts are good as are the squash courts although some filling of minor chips wouldn't go a miss. The gym is well equipped and spacious and kept very clean, plenty of paper and sanitiser to clean machines. Mens changing rooms could do with an upgrade as a bit dated but kept clean. I love the staff and the centre, feels like home

Negative experience: A gym run by people who never use a gym. Kids run around unchecked, the showers never work and building work has been allowed to eat into an already small free weights area. The promised addition of a pool is still just a hole in the ground and for some obscure reason, it closes for two weeks over Xmas, but the charge doesn't reflect this. The area has several other gyms so it is worth looking around.

Negative experience: Such a shame as its one of the only gyms in the area. There is constant issues in the the gym which include bathrooms been completely out of use for months on end, no hot water in the showers and no drinking water in the gym. Receptionists are not friendly or helpful in the slightest. The only benefit is that it is normally not very busy but maybe that's a reflection on the gym itself.

Positive experience: I go once a week. Small gym and Kam who guides us is son patient and lovely, always a smile with word of encouragement. There are also items to clean your machines before and after use and top up. The reception sometimes are nice, sometimes nit The music is terrible and monotonous. However the workout machines are well kept and not crowded around 6 30 Their full prices are very expensive. I suppose it will hit the sky once the new gym is built.

Fantastic experience: Good facility should do better on the changing and showering facilities. Staff are good and keep the place clean. Squash courts could do with a little maintenance. The weights room and cardio machine's are good and it appears there is enough equipment available even when busy.

Positive experience: Excellent sports hall with refurbished plastic floor, good for badminton. The shower is not so good. Free ample parking.

Positive experience: Been using the facilities for most my life so seen better days. Still very reasonable Badminton and squash pricing. Free car parking remains a bonus. The under stairs changing rooms can do with an upgrade though.

Negative experience: Very poor customer service by front desk staff. They don’t know what they are doing only seating there & gossiping each other. It’s a public leisure centre but these boys act like they own the place so they can do what ever they like. Shame on the management not looking after their employees attitude & activities.

Positive experience: It's ok. Not a buzzing or modern centre. There are works currently being done I believe. Staff are usually friendly when I visit which is always a bonus.

Fantastic experience: Abbie has the best cutomer support from beginning to end of the process. Cannot praise her enough, really informed and go the extra mile at every stage. I would recommend them unreservedly.

Positive experience: Spotlessly clean and rarely overcrowded. Could do with more resistance machines, like a chest flye/pec deck or a lat pullover. Otherwise plenty of cardio and free weights, and a decent Smith machine. 4 stars as I consider the monthly basic price too high (£47 at January 2022).

Negative experience: Shambolic staff who are clueless about anything sports related. Would give 0 stars if possible. Not willing to provide any customer service. Would rather lose money and do less work in order to be lazy. Courts are available but are not willing to rent them out.

Fantastic experience: Very good leisure center for the locality. Entry is on registration.Adult and children has different amenities.

Negative experience: I play badminton here (when I am able to book a court). Facilities well outdated. Mobile booking app never works forcing you to enter the 15 day before 8.30pm telephone draw which is pot luck. Also there are empty courts due to no shows who book courts for free as part of their membership. Since the membership changes this place has gone down hill (even more than before)

Positive experience: I'm another badmington player and agree what others have said about the building, but like most old sports centres built in the past they all lack love, care, investment. It is what it is i'm afraid but I still enjoy going there on the odd occasion

Positive experience: I played squash. It's my first time and can't compare to any other place to give a fully adequate review. The building seemed a little bit run down, therefore 3 stars. The badminton court in Wanstead is pretty busy and I is advisable to be booked well in advance. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The place is situated close to the tube station which is very convenient. Easy to find too.

Positive experience: Have been coming here for many years.It is great for squash and badminton.Has a good gym and there are lots of different classes available to suit most people.The staff are professional and courteous.The place is used quite a lot.I think the local school do their sports classes here.The decor is a little tired but good enough.Free parking is available.The ability to book online with an app is great.I have not had any hassle booking the amenities online.Highly recommended.

Positive experience: I was referred to Wanstead leisure centre as a part of Redbridge fitness. For a nominal fee, you have to complete 12 sessions at the gym. Kan (gym instructor) guided me on a session by session basis answering questions I had about health and how to exercise. I found the staff to be knowledgeable and encouraging. I was a gym-phobe having an on off relationship with the gym for years, for once I feel like joining constantly - I've just signed up to a full year! The equipment is good (I'm a novice). It's not a massive space, but it definitely has all the facilities require. I'm on the referral price, so the gym is affordable. The full price seems a little high. I do definitely recommend a guided scheme for those who are a little daunted by the while experience.

Positive experience: I don't know much about gyms but this meets my needs. I have a lovely member of staff helping me, Kan.

Positive experience: Ok gym but value for money you will be disappointed. The staff are great and friendly the clientle are all professionals and you won't be waiting for a machine. This may explain the monthly gym charge. My personal opinion is I think half of what they charge would be acceptable. Don't expect fancy machines like other bigger cheap gyms the equipment is outdated, but you'll get the job done depending on individual.

Negative experience: Resident in the local area but only just discovered as it's quite hidden away. The centre looks good and the gym has been recently refurbished. Ample car parking out the front. I'm slightly annoyed like other people to be asked to pay £30 towards a gym induction when I have been going to the gym fairly regularly for the last 25 years. I even have a vision gym card from my previous location. Shame It just a blocker for vision to acquire new gym membership whos lifetime value would be much more valuable.

Positive experience: The facilities provided are not too bad, however the receptionists do a very poor job and are often hopelessly unorganized.

Positive experience: Occasionally we go there for badminton. Quick access from A406. They need some direction to find the centre entrance. Badminton hall is good, not very spacious but good for 5 courts. Free parking. Staff were friendly.

Positive experience: Friendly staff but the shower area is a bit untidy and the floor of the gym could do with a clean up. Otherwise, really good. Quite expensive for badminton when compared to better fitness centers.
