Positive experience: It's normally quiet and relaxing for swimming but it's quite old and there's always things that are broken or not working.

Fantastic experience: I had most amazing Ritual Relaxing massage today with Liv it was fantastic! She is not only very professional, she is caring and you immediately you feel relaxed in her presence. Her massage with nice and firm for me being a World Powerlifter but she accommodates to what ever pressure you may require. Absolutely 5* customer service thanks Liv. Ill be back very soon! Don’t delay get yourself booked in with her.
Fantastic experience: I have had 2 wonderful manicures recently and they were perfect. One Shellac for going on holiday and 3 weeks later my nails were still perfect. Another just nail polish was also perfect! I’d say they were the best manicures I have ever had. I have had the full body massage twice and both were wonderful. Firmness as I asked for and very relaxing.
Fantastic experience: I had a voucher for the Beauty Room and used it to have my nails polished. I have to say that Liv did a great job on my nails that has lasted quite a while. Thank you Liv
Fantastic experience: Amazing massage and facial with Olivia recently! Such a friendly welcoming atmosphere! Will most definitely be back! Only downside is I wished they offered more treatments such different beauty treatments and more variety for nails. Other than that the customer service from Liv was amazing!

Fantastic experience: great for a day pass when passing
Negative experience: The male changing room was disgusting, the smell of urine as you walk in, I needed a wee so went to use the only cubicle, NOPE!!, piss all over the floor, had to carefully use the urinal which absolutely stank of urine, pubic hair on both of them, both discoloured to the extent I don't think the flushing mechanism is working. The floors were covered in grime/hair. There was a used dirty towel on the floor when we arrived and it was still there when we left so the "checks" sheet on the wall as you walk in is clearly just for show. No wet bags in the dispenser. This isn't the first time I've arrived and seen the cubicle covered in urine but to have the rest of the changing room in such a state, I felt dirty being in there, and extremely uncomfortable walking barefoot.
Negative experience: Still affected by a terrible experience here in Dec 23 and Sept 24. I was offered a massage at a spa elsewhere by a friend and I declined based on the treatment I had at the Club. I cried after my experience at the club - I felt worse despite an attempt to treat myself. Don't waste your money here unless you don't mind being spoken to with contempt and think a massage is being rubbed lightly in sunflower oil by a distracted therapist. The whole of my outer left side, my neck and shoulders were totally ignored. I was not asked where I needed the massage most. Skilled therapists can usually determine this just by feeling your back. And I wasn't asked if I wanted oil on my head - usually an option but as it was, I just had oil applied through my hair with no pressure applied. The room was dirty. There was a skipping CD with panpipe music and the table creaked. There was no pillow to fit to your face when you lie face-down - so the hole cut into your face and was very uncomfortable agter about 15 mins. I attempted to offer feedback after but the therapist was immediately defensive: she stepped back, shook her head and said sarcastically, "ohh Im Sorry"...no offer to make good and as I said I was already tearful so didn't pursue this. Just said, thank you and left vowing never to go there again. But I wouldn't want anyone to have the same experience I did, hence the review now. I've given 2 stars because I enjoyed the gym and because it was my silly decision to return after another awful experience in the previous December. At that point, the reception team were also rude and refused to treat my husband for reasons that were not entirely his fault. There is no sense of accountability and customer service here. Money down the drain. I don't know how they get away with it.
Positive experience: First time at The Spa at Chilworth Manor Southampton Hampshire. Full use of Leisure Facilities plus the treatment done by Massage Therapist in the PM / afternoon of Monday 19 February 2024 was very good.
Negative experience: Pool clean but water is cold. Sauna OK but grubby. Spa pool not very clean. Changing room lockers OK, changing rooms grubby, shower controls terrible. The whole place needs a deep clean. Just paid up for 3 months so a bit disappointed.

Positive experience: Booked a pedicure. Shannon was excellent and really friendly and professional. I noticed another pedicure feedback here. Its beyond me why there are only 7 colours of polish to chose from. Had I known I would have brought some from home. Classic case of not investing in basic equipment. I have massive empathy for the staff here as basic items that are missing must be embarrassing
Fantastic experience: stayed recently had a brilliant massage would thoroughly recommend it. Pool and jacuzzi facilities were excellent, wasnt too busy and was very relaxing
Fantastic experience: My sister had organised for a Spa day and treatments for myself and 9 of my family & friends for my Hen Party. The experience from start to finish was outstanding! From the moment we stepped in the door we were greeted with friendly and welcoming staff who went out of their way to add personal touches to the day. Our beauty therapist was lovely and we all received amazing treatments, which left us feeling relaxed and refreshed, I chose the back shoulder and neck massage and felt amazing after! Everything felt so relaxing and calm throughout, and I couldn't of asked for a better day! Thank you so much to everyone at the Club for making my hen do so memorable! ♀️

Negative experience: In all my years of having pedicures, this was the most expensive but the worst service ever!! Shocking experience! I would have done better to go to a nail bar on the High Street. At least there we are guaranteed a professional service!
Negative experience: Disappointing. Booked two full body massages. Robes didn’t fit us, the facilities were basic (what’s the point in having two clocks on the side that’s on the side where the chairs are and not where they’re viewing). The massage table was uncomfortable, and the service was poor. The masseuse was in a mood, and the gurgly tummy ruined the atmosphere (I appreciate this can’t be helped). Such a big expense for not much reward and a poor massage. We won’t be returning.

Fantastic experience: I had THE most relaxing, much needed few hours at the spa. They have really comfy loungers, which I spent a lot of my time on, and a lovely jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and pool of course. The staff are all so lovely! I’d like to say a big thank you to Amy, who kept me updated via email about the jacuzzi which had been out of use prior to my visit, and who was so friendly when I arrived at the spa! I’d highly recommend ‘the club’ at Chilworth manor to anyone in need of an escape from reality! Thanks again
Negative experience: Sub standard. Glorified leisure centre. Booked for a treat/‘spa day’ and jacuzzi not functioning. Spoke to a regular who said that the jacuzzi is out of use weekly. Temperature of the pool very cool. When addressing the above to the receptionist, they apologised and agreed that an email should have been circulated in advance with regards to the facilities not fully functioning. They also assured us that they would raise this with the manager. We left it 6 days and heard nothing, therefore I sent an email, only to receive the below as part of the email: - “Please accept my apologies for the delayed response, unfortunately my original reply was still sitting in my outbox and not sending”. Apology accepted, however obviously not too concerned about a clients visit as not followed through and checked email sent properly. We will not be returning.
Positive experience: An immensely relaxing spa day. Only 2 faults were: Poolside was SO slippy when wet. Pool was pretty cold. There were 3 of us in for a spa day and we absolutely loved it. The whole place was nice & in good condition. Our treatments were absolutely fantastic. We all left feeling superb. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I am a long standing Member and really enjoy the Professional and Friendly atmosphere. I have regular PT with Sam which I really enjoy I find him well organised and friendly and I am greatly benefitting from our sessions.I can highly recommend Sam and all the Staff at the club.

Positive experience: I’ve recently become a member and throughly enjoy the whole experience of the gym and swimming. I had a lower back issue and after speaking with one of the PT’s Sam he devised a exercise plan and this has helped immensely. Sam explained all the relevant gym equipment in a knowledgable and informative way. Overall I find the Club very friendly with friendly staff.

Positive experience: Joined for the swimming a month ago and absolutely love it. Reluctant to recommend to friends as it’s so quiet! Staff are welcoming and friendly and now the ladies showers are mended it’s perfect.

Negative experience: Standard gym with old equipment and no air con, was not impressed. The treadmil creaked and squeaked and whilst functional it did seem old Fair selection of equipment though but the drinking water which is situated on the first floor is warm

The gym equipment was only installed in 2019, so not very old, and there are 4 large air con units in the gym that are on and working from opening to close. Negative experience: Very disappointed with the gym! I checked the website and it says it's open until 8pm. I arrived there at 7:10pm and they told me that I can't enter the gym because of the "last entry" rule which is at 7pm!!!! So it means if I arrive at 6:59 I can enter the gym and stay until 8 but if I arrive at 7:01 I cannot just do half an hour cardio and leave at 7:30!!! Just nonesense!!! What made me even more disappointed and furious was the behaviour of the staff when I asked them why they have this annoying rule they could not say anything but just repeating "because it's the rule". And when I asked them why you don't have this very important rule on your website they just said you should have known this!!!!
Positive experience: The gym is seriously lacking

With a variety of cardio from treadmills, rowers, bikes, x-trainers and stairmaster to cable machine, free weights, squat rack and resistance machines. There is also a large floor area for functional training including kettlebells, battlerope, medicine balls and mat work. We feel this covers many peoples needs for all different styles of training. We are still trying to provide a Covid safe environment for members and guests and have had to minimise multiple contact points, this meant, for the time being, the loungers have been removed but there is still seating for members and guests to use. Fantastic experience: Very solid staff service, comfy room, great food. Nice pool gym and gardens to keep you occupied. Not an especially fancy establishment but still great quality and overall we enjoyed very relaxing honeymoon

Positive experience: Staff were excellent and welcoming at theclub... Only had an hour slot for children (sat and sun only) but was OK with that. The club is a bonus addition to staying at the hotel but don't see it as part of a hotel package...

Positive experience: To be honest I was underwhelmed by this place. The coffee area is just inside the door and xan be chilly. The receptionist was not that friendly and welcoming but the worst was the sales team. I arrived on time to meet and was kept waiting for over 20 minutes, eventually the receptionist took me on a tour but its not her job. I then waited again for a disinterested sales person to try and sell me the very expensive member package. Needless to say I didn't buy. Pool looks nice for relaxing but too small to train. The gym is good, small but has everything I would want. The class room is small and booking into a class is difficult, you can't book ahead and each week you need to remember to book on at 12.30pm, any later you end up on a wait list, can't book earlier. It's a good but typical hotel gym and as such very expensive. Premium price for not a very luxurious experience, cheaper than David Lloyd and more expensive than council run gym. But if the price was more competitive I would go for the gum alone, nice new equipment without the muscle men and blaring music, I enjoyed my time in it. Changing rooms could do with cleaning more regularly but are well equipped.
Positive experience: A bit grubby, things like hot tub etc don't always work. Pool temperature is too cold. Changing rooms are in a desperate need of an upgrade!
Positive experience: Had a really lovely spa day here. The venue was quiet with a lovely pool and spa and good facilities; it's tucked out the way which made it easy to switch off! Towel and a huge fluffy robe were provided; worth remembering slippers or pool shoes though. Lunch was a bento box which was nice enough but nothing special. The treatments (facial and massage) were excellent, however I would have appreciated it if the therapist had spent a couple of minutes speaking with me first... I climbed on the couch and the treatment started with barely a word. Overall a wonderful treat and excellent value for money, I'll certainly be back in the future.
Negative experience: Poor..... they cancelled twice our spa day, we had booked through dreamtree and they never offered us anything as in compensation.... they cancelled the first day the day before and then when we arrived they told us no.therapists were in! Would.not be returning or recommending

Negative experience: After booking a spa day for two through Groupon for my husbands birthday, I got there and sat down waiting for my treatment to be told I couldn't have it done because I HAD cancer less than 5 years ago and it's their policy. After requesting to Groupon I wanted my money back, which they were happy to do, all I needed was an email from the club to state I didn't use the voucher. After my first email, I was told a manager would get in touch soon confirming, 2 days later and no response I emailed again, this time no response. 5 days later I tried phoning and noone picked up! This is absolutely ridiculous and very unprofessional! I am not leaving it here and shall be taking it further!
Negative experience: The single star is for the great staff. Slippery floor in changing room as customers ignore signs to dry off in showers. No grip on tiles at all when wet so an accident waiting to happen. I have been a member for two years, half that time either the pool, sauna, jacuzzi or steam room are out of order. I think it's 5 months this year at least for the Jacuzzi being unserviceable! The whole reason for me joining was to to go to the gym and then swim and jacuzzi to warm down stretching muscles. Now I just swim. I am a facilties manager - if I had a jacuzzi closed for this long I would expect to be sacked!
Negative experience: Bit disappointed with this place. Pool wasn't very warm (and I don't normally mind a non-warm pool). Jacuzzi was out of order as undergoing maintenance, as was steam room. This left just the (cold) pool and sauna. The only drinks fountains were in the changing rooms and the water pressure was so pitiful barely anything came out. Went here as part of a spa break; hotel is lovely but this place was a let down. We did have spa treatments upstairs and I would rate the treatment itself very highly. Sadly the overall experience here was underwhelming.
Positive experience: Beginning to get rundown, but has improved recently
Positive experience: Lovely range of treatments available including massages and facials. The pool area wasn't really set up for the spa day experience though.
Fantastic experience: The treatments I had yesterday were amazing. Therapist Tiffany was excellent. Would recommend the back massage and facial!

Positive experience: One of the more expensive clubs in the city, it is in desperate need of investment and refurbishment which is now underway. Main gripe is that the place is in need of better cleaning.
Positive experience: Facilities a little tired. Staff communication skills could do with improvement especially for newcoming visitors.
Negative experience: Overwhelming smell of bleach. Far too much. Furthermore, I had a gel removal and re-application done there and the job was very poor. By the time I arrived back home (5 mins away), the colour was chipped. A complete waste of money.

Negative experience: Miserable staff and tired equipment
Negative experience: Was previously a lovely, friendly well run gym with a personal touch. I called yesterday to reinstate my membership after the previous manager Kris had kindly put it on hold for me after I had an operation. I had the misfortune of dealing with Ollie who called himself an assistant manager. I’m slightly confused as to how someone in a position of management can be so blatantly rude. He was incredibly unhelpful, blunt and arrogant and when I pulled him up on how obstructive he was being, he replied “oh ok. Good.” Furious to say the least. Seriously needs to remove his head from his uneducated backside and learn some manners. They have no general manager to speak with, so I can’t even report the arrogant so called assistant. All I can say is the worst thing they ever did was lose Kris. Nothing was ever too much trouble! I will not hesitate to warn people off of this place if this is how they’re treated!!! Complete joke when all I wanted was a little help and guidance. The Club need to sort their staffing issue out!!!!!!

Negative experience: We had a spa day that was gifted to us by our mum, but when we first booked the original date was cancelled the day before due to staff shortages. When we eventually did arrive there was an aquarobics class on. This is only advised via the confirmation email, however, is does also advise that you may use the other facilities on site such as the sauna and steam room. Firstly the man in reception didn't let us know that resulting in us and others sitting for an hour twiddling our thumbs, and secondly, neither of these were working and we weren't informed of this at any point. We also had no tour and eventually decided, with others, that we would just ask if we could even get changed ready for treatments and our expected full use of facilities. There were no signs up on either of them only a maintenence man who managed to get it going maybe half an hour before our treatment was due to start, by this point we were cold and fed up and had decided to leave after our lunch anyway. My sister and I both have health problems and this was supposed to have been a relaxing day for us. It turned out to be a dip in a cold pool, the jacuzzi water level was too low and had a fault, which we only found out through regular club members who also informed us that the sauna and steam room had been out of commission for a while and I feel that we should have been told this either on arrival or via email. Our treatments were the only decent thing about the day. A three course lunch is advertised. We had a snack box presented to us in sections and although the food was very nice it wasnt anywhere near enough. We are very disappointed and put off by this whole experience and hope that the level of customer service is not a true reflection of your daily business. We had not one bit of information or apology given regarding any of the above.
Fantastic experience: Just loved the ambience ....the spa treatments were so relaxing, very friendly staff too....next time we will look for an overnight stay!
Negative experience: The Spa is advertised as Chilworth Manor Spa and I was very disappointed to find it not actually at the Manor but down the road. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the treatments were lovely. However a cold lunch (4 items) is served in a black plastic sectioned container with a lid :o( and there is no quiet relaxation area, it was also grubby and tired (gym equipment dirty). Pool is on the cold side, a regular said it was always cold. I will not be returning.
Negative experience: The gym was opened 10/12 years ago. In need of major overhaul, replacement furniture and a very good and thorough clean. I could go on..........

Fantastic experience: Lovely & personal atmosphere
Positive experience: Visited for a spa day. Spa services are good, very nice treatment rooms and some of the staff were amazing. Three of us attending and all had different experiences based on the therapist, which leads me to believe better training needs to take place. Overall nice for treatments only, the pool area is not great for spa break as there is no where to lie around the pool. It's more of a leisure centre with treatment rooms upstairs.
Positive experience: Great location for this club.
