Negative experience: After today's visit to this place I am forced to give only one star. Nuffield in Rugby in my opinion is beyond any standards of cleanliness, the men's changing rooms are dirty it is scary to stand barefoot, not to mention the cleanliness of the pool. The pool is dirty, there is dirt floating in it, the sight itself make me fell disgusted, the saunas stink, you can see that in this place just like the cleaning service does not exist... I am just waiting for my Membership to end.

Fantastic experience: I miss Nuffield Rugby ever since I moved. The staff are excellent - friendly and professional. The layout and space is amazing, so much space and equipment. The personal trainers are all outstanding- especially Tom P-H. My wife really enjoyed the yoga classes, and we both really enjoyed group cycle and the other styles of spin class - especially Paul P's weekend Group Cycle - best way to start the day! It's just a shame I couldn't take Nuffield Rugby with me

Negative experience: Wondering why nobody ever mentioned their steam room facility - horrible, horrible stench, sweat cat piss stench. I’ve addressed them 2 x times, been told they will sort this out, but…you guessed it right - they did nothing about it, not even used scent oils. £50.00 per month to vomit in a stench room? No thanks. Considering moving to newly opened David Lloyd.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, excellent staff! Special mention to Callum for going above and beyond for me, had a lovely chat, down to earth kinda guy. He really helped me out of a pickle. Along with everyone being super approachable and friendly, including the class instructors and physio consultations I had, it's a brilliant gym. Been a member 2 years and it's THE best in Rugby by far! Thanks again Callum, stay excellent :P

Negative experience: £50 a month, minimum. Here's a tip. Eat Les, walk more. Save that £50 a month to spend on healthier foods. More money than brain cells some people.

Negative experience: Was recommended this place for physiotherapy after a work accident. Had to cancel a session due to a family emergency, and when I contacted to rebook, was told someone would call me to arrange it. They did not, but they did charge me £50 for missing the session. I had to pay an initial consultancy fee a second time when I called back to rebook, then on the day of my appointment, was told the physiotherapist was off because of a family emergency, and that they would call me that day to reschedule. They never called me. I would give this place 0 stars if I could.

Positive experience: Great gym. Nice staff. Very clean. Sometimes to many people you wait to long for everything. Dificult to book some exercises like yoga or other. Booking start at 7am on internet and on 7.20 class full. Swiming pool is ok.

Positive experience: Dependent upon what you use the fitness centre for is the deciding factor on whether the gym is for you, at the higher price point than most other gyms. If you like training in classes then, they have loads of classes, I don't use it for classes, just weight training and a little cardio. Whenever I've been during mornings and evenings the weights area with free weights upstairs is always busy, there's around 4 benches which are all in use, and is difficult to get a turn on the bench, and there are also only a few free weight dumbells and barbells.. The resistance machines usually less busy, but some are dated, squeaky or have ripped material which cuts into your skin, making training uncomfortable. My favourite thing about the centre is the sauna and steam room, plus swimming pool are all good, and nice after a hard day at work. They have closed the jacuzzi to save energy. There is a good selection of cardio equipment, and the in built TV on some is a nice touch, but sometimes doesn't work if running hard on the treadmill. The new techno gym treadmills downstairs are good. The changing rooms are clean, but you do get a lot of people who don't cover up their modesty. Plenty of showers etc. The people who use the gym are quite friendly as are the reception staff. But I personally wouldn't become a member as I prefer more benches and weights as my current gym which is less than half the monthly cost and has around 30 benches and weights ranging from 4kg to 65kg dumbells. I used a trial for 10 days which I got from my M&S sparks app, I will miss the sauna and steam room, but the weights area is what is most important to me and will stick with my current gym.

Positive experience: Overall it's good , but the cycling equipment is really tired and old . I'm glad I'm on a lower rate because if I were paying full wack I'd be super annoyed about the quality of the equipment being old and tired . ( Spinning bikes in particular) . Us members have been asking about it for a couple of years now and keep getting the same response " we have asked head office and it's not a priority, there opinion is if it works it's good enough " . I know they have lost quite a few members due to this . Other than that , the pool is always clean and the changing rooms are as well . The classes they offer are really good . The staff are always friendly and greet you when you enter and leave .

Negative experience: Joined may last year I have a disability and wanted to see if I could do different stuff. It turns out I couldn’t do anything or I’m in pain so just walking each day for me, can’t even use the pool as it hurts but anyway I used it approximately 10 times in 10 months and never once did they contact me to see if I wanted to freeze my contract or do something for me, I’m paying £49.00 per month and they emailed me the other day to say it’s going up by £2?? Now that’s not helpful to me at all I’m on disability benefit and things are going up everywhere, Nuffield you are supposed to look after your customers wellbeing look after their mental health also. I can guarantee you one thing I’ll go to court for this one they are ripping people off, during Covid we had to wait for particular equipment that I was trialing so waiting around didn’t do me any good either, for the first 2 months they didn’t have my pass uploaded for the automatic gates so I had to stand there and wait for them to finish on the phone. I can’t stand around with my disability. Nuffield you are an absolute disgrace and your customer service is shocking. Patrick

Fantastic experience: Very good gym. I come here regularly to use mainly gym and fitness areas. This place is well maintained and clean, I am also happy with equipment as there is everything I need to stay in shape. I like the choice of music and the lighting which help me to relax while I work out. Nuffield Health has also swimming pool and sauna to offer, both are well looked after. On top of that there are various classes for group work outs. The professionals who look after this place are very friendly, positive and helpful. Great place.

Negative experience: Member, for the last 3 years, thinking about joining somewhere else. Only advantage is we can use the Nuffield’s facilities anywhere in the country, away from hometown. Very limited equipment available at Rugby branch, most of them have worn out. Value for money ??? Well, u could get far better facilities for the price I am paying. Some staff are very good, some are rude and arrogant. They should upgrade all facilities and install more equipment. Hope they will do it sooner rather than later.

Positive experience: Good facilities. Equipment is fairly decent, upgraded about a year ago. 2 studios for classes which holds a range of activities to chose from such as yoga, body pump, zumba etc. There is also a separate cycle studio. Has a Swimming pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. Gym itself is not bad either, good free weight and cardio section. Could have more machines and of different varieties. Ground floor has good few equipment also. Quite expensive for membership if you are only going to be using the gym. So only worth it if you're going to make most of all the facilities available

Positive experience: Quite expensive for what you end up getting. Classes end up being cancelled last minute, the staff is rude and do not know anything about customer service. The equipment is good and the place, enjoyable to workout.

Negative experience: Before we decided to pay £101 monthly for a year contract we have been told that our 13 years old son will be allowed to use the swimming pool on his own, without our supervision. That was the main point of our decision. Otherwise we would continue using Sports Direct and Exercise4less gym. Day 1 our son was swimming for an hour while we’ve been training in the gym. Next day he’s been told that he has to pass the swimming test before using the swimming pool unsupervised. Test only takes 5 minutes but we had to wait 4 days for it. We have been given some leaflet of which picture is attached below. It says: “What is included in the Swim Test?” - tread water for 1 minute (it is impossible as the depth is only 1.2m and my son is 1.6m but he somehow managed to do it) - Swim 50 metres in under 2 minutes – demonstrating recognised arm/leg actions and the ability to swim on front and back. (he completed both front and back each way under a minute) - Surface dive to the bottom of the pool and pick up an object from the deep end (he did, no problem) - Answer 2 questions on pool safety (he did). After the test the person who was testing him said he did not pass as he didn’t backstroke (he did Elementary Backstroke as he wasn’t instructed to do full backstroke). I have argued with her that he did what’s required on paper but she said that even though it’s not on paper it is supposed to be backstroke. I asked if he can do the backstroke now as it’s not a problem for him but she said she’s going home now and can’t stay for another 10 minutes. I said that we will reschedule the test for tomorrow and she said that’s fine. Obviously I asked to speak to the manager but he/she was unavailable. I sent an email to Rachel Cuttler – Swim Manager to book another swimming test but she replied that “There is a 2 weeks gap before we are able to rebook to ensure that the swimmer has had enough time to practice on the area which they did not pass on”. He continued using the swimming pool, me and my wife were alternating between each other every half an hour. We didn’t swim, we just were there in the swimming pool area. Today my wife has been told that she has to be actually in the water to supervise him. I couldn’t stand being treated like this so I asked to speak with manager – Joe. Since every time we go there they make up new rules which we did NOT sign and weren’t informed about before signing the contract I asked him to actually show me these “rules” in writing. He then went somewhere, came back 10 minutes later saying he can’t find them but THEY ARE SOMEWHERE THERE. Half an hour conversation worth nothing, like I was literally talking to my dog. “You have to follow the rules, we can’t show you these rules as we don’t know where they are but THEY ARE THERE. All we’re asking you to do is to pass the swimming test” but how can I be sure that tomorrow they won’t make up a new rule saying the colour of my trainers is not allowed??

Negative experience: Неприятно удивило непрофессиональное и негибкое отношение к нам, как к потенциальным клиентам. Мы, 2 взрослых и 2 детей так и не попали в аква-зону, хотя на рецепции сказали прийти в 15 ч , когда можно зайти в бассейн с детьми. Погуляли 1.5 ч и вернулись.. А на рецепции уже другой человек сказал, мы не члены клуба и не можем зайти в бассейн. Дезинформация.. Мы потеряли наше время и ушли так и не попав в бассейн.

Negative experience: My first experience with Nuffield Rugby today has been quite frustrating. Even after having a walk around yesterday evening and having an entry pass, it took me 20 minutes to enter the gym. So if I had a quick 30 minutes, I would not consider going to the gym. The persons in the reception are not polite enough as they should. The gentleman appearing to be the manger seem to be unapologetic with the delays caused.

Negative experience: Obviously don't need customers as never get back to me when I ring up. The person I need to speak to is always always somewhere else and they will get back to me. Was going to sign up me and the wife but will try elsewhere. They must be full.

Negative experience: You may think that because of a high price they will treat you better than other gyms in town, but no, all they see you in you is your wallet. I've asked them two months before moving away from Rugby what should I do to have the contract cancelled from the date of moving out (9th of August) and was told to bring a proof exactly a month before the date so that's what I did - only to be told that I should have brought it by the end of the previous month and that I'll have to pay for the whole month even though they've had proof that I won't be able to attend the gym for most of August - and that's for 2 memberships, for me and my wife which in total is quite a lot of money. We've been going back and forth but even when they said they would call me with more details on a certain days, I would still be completely ghosted and would have to go there personally to have a chance to ask how's the case. I spoke with managers, deputy managers and the deputy manager was supposed to speak with a general manager but never did. They keep saying one thing and doing another! And then at the final meeting the deputy manager said that it's a gesture of good will that they've cancelled the memberships at all because they should have made us pay twice that in the city we're moving to!!! They are absolutely ridiculous and have just wasted a lot of my time! The gym is always overcrowded in the evenings too and don't have a lot of useful equipment anyway, only 2 benches which are always used for example, totally not what one would expect for this price! AVOID, there are better and cheaper gyms in Rugby!

Negative experience: Mark Well's experience at Nuffield Health in the pool was similar to my husbands. He was assaulted twice in the pool and complained - his membership has been terminated. Management were not interested in listening to his concerns, he was called a 'mental old man' by the perpetrator which was heard by Nuffield staff. I would urge anyone to report any incidences of assault to the police as Nuffield Health management staff aren't interested. Be warned.

Negative experience: I was recently assaulted at the Nuffield health club in Rugby - the incident was witnessed by the Lifeguard with Duty Manager also in attendance. It took the Deputy Manager - Yaqub Mogul 4 weeks to bother to investigate the incident. their view - a miscommunication between members. My head was cut as a result, i was called a fxxkxng wxnkxr amongst other things, all of which were heard by the Lifeguard. A miscommunication?? No incident log completed, no apology from Nuffield. Please, please consider the above before attending this gym. It really isn’t safe from my recent experience

Negative experience: Although the gym has been well fitted out, the management leaves a lot to be desired. To lose one Yoga instructor in a week is unfortunate. To lose 2 in the same week smacks of incompetence! Yet this is what they have done. In the space of a few days we have lost one of the best attended daytime classes at the gym. What makes it worse is the fact that managers have been lying to the customers about the reasons and the steps they are taking to replace the classes. We have been told one instructor is off sick, even though he has resigned. we were also told he would be covering classes although he was no longer working there. When I tried to make a written complaint at the gym I was told there were no forms and I would have to email the complaint. Even when you complain no-one ever even acknowledges the complaint, never mind do anything about it. You pay your money and then get ignored - that;s the Nuffield way.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym - recently fully re-fitted. Plenty of equipment across two floors, helpful staff and plenty of classes too. Certain times of the day can be quite quiet, which means plenty of gym to yourself. Pool area, changing and showering environment is all adequate too. Parking is plentiful and easy.

Fantastic experience: Really like the recent refurb, the staff are frequently cleaning the equipment and the gym goers I've seen so far generally seem respectful of the equipment and putting it back (a pet hate of mine when stuff is left all over the place). Great that it has a good range of cardio equipment (ski ergs, assault bikes, good rowers, runners, steppers) as well as a massive range of weight equipment and 4 good squat racks with bumper plates for deadlifts. Battle ropes, kettle bells, rigs for pull ups and TRX, good changing rooms and everything seems to be pretty up to date (generally all Technogym equipment) Make it easy to use Pay As U Gym, and when you do speak to sales staff they are not uncomfortable and pushy, I've found them to be really down to earth and friendly. Plus they have a Costa machine in there now, which is good.

Negative experience: Staff failed to get back to me about my enquiry (I'm trans FtM and wanted to know if I'd be able to use the mens changing facilities) and when I enquired as to why I hadn't received any information I was told that they didn't know and they made no attempt to accommodate me. They do not provide any facilities or support for those who are transgender and seem to take the attitude that its too difficult to accommodate us. Terrible and discriminatory service.

Positive experience: It might be owned by Nuffield now who have certainly spruced the place up, but the basic ethos behind getting people exercising is till the same. Why can't they and every other gym have a buddy system of like minded gym goers who could benefit from some support. Why? Simply to sell the overpriced Fitness trainers. Stopping my membership.

Positive experience: Gym is okay, enough decent equipment for a good workout. Staff and members are friendly enough but can get very crowded during peak hours Pool and changing room facilities really let the club down although there is work going on to improve the showers currently

Positive experience: Brilliant facilities and staff. The personal training is exceptional. They are well-informed and push you hard to reach your goals. On the negative had some membership payment issues which went on for too long. (7months) but it eventually got sorted out. Gym always keep you informed via text if there are outages so you know what's going. Nice personal touch. It would be nice if they had a resident physio and massage treatments though. Equipment wise they are always on top of it. They have a good range of new and traditional equipment. I just wish the opening hours were extended on the weekends.

Positive experience: Recent customer service experience could have been better - lack of communication and no response to email. Showers need refurbishment, they’ve been the same since Esporta gym. Equipment in gym ok, some new which is good. The cost of membership is expensive compared to other gyms.

Negative experience: I joined only because my friends are with this gym, and we can get to use the Northampton riverside. Otherwise services are extremely aweful, joined for only 3 months, overcharged me 3 times, got mixed up with the crèche booking like about 7 times. Staff at reception desk are a bunch of teenagers got attitudes problem. The changing room is freezing even me and my friends had verbally and writing official complaints. The list goes on. The staff are very untrained, not helpful at all, no one makes you feel welcome. When you phone up trying to book crèche, I had to call at least twice to make sure they got it. Wise up, rugby!!

Fantastic experience: Visit here as often as I can, good range of equipment although the maintenance of the equipment isn't great. Staff are helpful.
