Fantastic experience: Been going for years now! Love the gym! Clean & Tidy! Staff are great and always happy to help and the classes are great! Sauna and steam room are up and running amazing compared to before! Always look forward to working out and relaxing there

Negative experience: I am their member from last four years now. Their old staff is good but some of their new staff specially one girl and a boy they are very rude and have no manners how to talk and behave with customers. Pathetic public dealing and no respect at all. I am very disappointed and seriously considering of quitting. Please don’t consider them as they don’t deserve your money.

Negative experience: It's very shabby and dirty. Littered with people's rubbish. Steamroom needs an overhaul. Sauna is not so hot. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Negative experience: 2 years ago when I started coming here, there was cleaning spray and tissues to wipe the machines, all machines were operational, and there was aircon. None of this is true anymore. I understand the cost pressures, but I cannot work out in this heat and humidity, the open door is not enough to cool a gym in summer... I will have to look elsewhere for now. It's a shame, the staff is always really nice.

Negative experience: Staff are nice, people who attend, not so much, zero etiquette, never ever put weights away, I can never just use something, I have to put their weights away first... Equipment is somewhat outdated/basic. Space is also very underutilized, lots of dead space, plenty of room for extra machines and equipment. They only have 1 leg extention, only 1 pec dec that isn't even a proper one either, just for random examples if lack of equipment. The cardio area is always underused. I've never seen it full, would do well to remove half, rearrange the whole gym, amd EASILY fit 50% more weight machines. There's are tiny gym in cardiff, Energie fitness, its half the size of everlast gym area, yet, they still have about the same amount of machines due to better positioning. There's no cleaning equipment/sanitation. I've been there at all times of the morning, day and night, and I've never seen staff clean anything either (other than the floor or mirrors). But, by far the worst part about the place, which easily costs it 2 stars itself, AIR CONDITIONING IS NEVER ON! Only an open fire escape door and some fans... This is an issue all times of year, more so now of course due to the summer. Surely the money saved from not having the heated jacuzzi anymore would allow the use of the aircon. The aircon isn't just for temperature, it would also have a filter increasing the air quality. The place smells.

Positive experience: Used to love it here but there has been no Aircon for months and they are too cheap to get it fixed despite regular customer complaints. Showers could do with a refurb and the broken machines take ages to get repaired. Could do with a few new machines and since the closure of the jacuzzi all the sweaty men from the sauna seem to be soaking off the sweat in the pool which is just gross.

Positive experience: I joined a gym that boasts an impressive ambiance and good facilities. However, my experience has been marred by the gym's inconsistent operating hours. Once I've been asked to leave at 9 PM, despite the official closing time being 10 PM. This premature closure has been quite inconvenient, cutting my workouts short and disrupting my routine. Additionally, the gym's hours on bank holidays are supposed to extend until 6 PM, but I found the facility closed at 4 PM on a recent holiday. This unexpected closure was disappointing and frustrating, especially since I had planned my day around the advertised schedule. While the gym's ambiance is good, the inconsistency in operating hours is a significant drawback. I hope the management addresses these issues to match the otherwise good experience they offer.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic facilities, helpful friendly staff, great additional features like coffee machine and meals you can purchase.

Fantastic experience: Tidy, clean, banging music. Great for boxing, got punching bag, steam atoom and sauna for cutting weight. Perfect!

Fantastic experience: Huge gym with lots of help for beginners and warm swimming pool.

Negative experience: Staff members called my friend a liar for voicing genuine, legitimate concerns about the hygeine of the gym. The showers looked like something you'd find in eastern europe and the pool may as well have been an advertisment for skin disease. For such a high price this gym is a complete scam.

Negative experience: The place is old and needs refurbishment as well as a good clean. The swimming area smells of wee and again needs cleaning. There’s is mold and the jacuzzi and steam room is always broken. Not worth the membership payment when these facilities are not working. There’s cleaners but the place is still dirty and needs cleaning or new cleaners. I will not be renewing my membership.

Fantastic experience: Great gym!!

Positive experience: Could do with some more equipment as it gets certified busy at times. Great pool, sauna and steamroom facilities at this price point, membership includes a couple of guest passes a month. Staff are friendly, I have been a member of most of the gyms in newport over the years and this stacks up well enough and has a diverse clientele, which I find really healthy and inclusive.

Negative experience: Discusting never clean apparently blind professional cleaners ment to go in every evening lol, staff always nice good report issues no one higher care, falling apart gym old equipment youbpay the money for sauna etc but that a health hazard see if finally deep cleaned when close for 2 days end month, if not for everyone's health will be reporting to environmental health before someone gets ill photos taken.

Negative experience: Jacuzzi hasn't worked for months now and there's so much mould everywhere in the steam room. Absolutely filthy, looks like it's never been cleaned. I complained to the staff about it. They know it's a problem because everyone complains but they told me they aren't allowed to clean it. Apparently it needs professional cleaning. Do it then! Why do I need to pay to sit in a mouldy room. Showers are very dated too, rust everywhere on the fittings. I'll post some photos next time.

Negative experience: Not the worse gym ever but its an absolute joke when it comes to cancelling membership. I wanted to cancel my membership due to a health issue which i explained on the phone, now they're asking for a medical note. Pretty sure Doctors don't give these out anymore, but now being told i cant cancel until January next year. Im 17, so not sure how i'm supposed to keep paying. Also head office don't have a number so i cant speak to them directly??? a JOKE

Positive experience: Good gym but needs a refurb. I pay £30 a month, which is a good price for gym, sauna steam room, jacuzzi, pool and classes. However there are hardly ever any new machines added, closing times aren't great on weekends 6pm. Between 5 and 8 it's way too busy so I try to go later but then you don't get to use the poolside facilities for long because they close at 9.30. Also the jacuzzi and sauna often breakdown. Not sure if I will renew my membership in the summer.

Fantastic experience: Been a member for a few years (even after covid lockdown). Although it's in need of a " makeover" in certain areas its still a value for money gym. New owners only recently took over the chain so investment WILL come with time.

Negative experience: Terrible system. They get you in with a 3 months or more contranct. Then you try the pool that is freezen although it was the reason to join in and have to pay 3 months to get out!! Very pour service at all levels. Do not join!!

Positive experience: Good facilities new sauna steam room and pool need updating. Personal trainer sam is excellent

Fantastic experience: Really nice gym and fairly priced at £30 per month, with great facilities and friendly staff, although slightly disappointed today as attended to swim, got changed to realise the pool has been closed until further notice I appreciate these things happen maybe forewarning via email or social media ect would have saved me the inconvenience, apart from that definitely recommend joining Up date 29/11/21 Attending today i was plesesently surprised at the make over the gym has had in the pool area in hindsight welll worth the inconvenience, all facilities up and running, clean and absolutely fantastic if your thinking of joining a gym for any reason let DW accommodate your needs you won't be disappointed

Fantastic experience: A good club, things back to normal after covid lockdown, the classes are still restricted by numbers to protect members.

Negative experience: I was a DW member Bristol Imperial branchbefore moving to Newport which I find as the dirtiest place ever. After being closed and rebrand I expected to find at least a good clean. What I found is swimming pool rotten covered with mould, paint coming off and black dirty spots near to vetilation. Changing toom has only "caution wet floor" signs instead of good mopping. Nota little better in the gym area, but far away from Bristol standarts.

Negative experience: Not a good management at all seems to be no interest in there job specially Poole area Look disgusting in a month at least for 2 weeks steam room sauna and jacuzzi don't work at all what is the point to pay them for full month membership and early closing times as well before when run by dw fitness it was going really smooth but now looks like a garbage gone more worst now its over crowded

Negative experience: The gym equipment is great. But the other facilities ie the sauna and showers are disgusting. Both me and my friend have contracted a fungal infection from using these facilities. I now refuse to use any of them and will be canceling my membership at the end of its term, unless something drastic is done to sort this issue out.

Fantastic experience: Love the new referb, layout is a lot better with the new addition of the functional fitness area and the new hammer strength machines for Chest and Shoulders are amazing. Downloaded the DW Core app so now I'm able to book into classes 7 day's in advance so I don't miss out and I get regular updates to new offers and challenges DW are doing both in the gym and retail store, way ahead of their competitors in regards to this interactive app.

Fantastic experience: Pound for pound, the best available wet and dry facilities in the city of Newport. Its emphasis on cleanliness puts its more expensive competitors to shame.

Fantastic experience: Love it! They have had all new gym equipment! Everything has had a makeover! Definitely, enjoy going daily. I would and do recommend to everyone. Best of all nothing better than relaxing in the pool and other facilities after an awesome workout with one of their Personal Trainers. Should check it out.

Negative experience: Poor customer service. I went to the gym to cancel my membership due to relocation with work, but they constantly say their manager is not in to ring the customer services I have been ringing the customer service number but waiting for over an hour to connect each time. when you want to join it's possible from anywhere and any staff can do but when you want to leave no one can do anything. staff simply don't care.

Negative experience: Really poor customer service. Should stop worrying about trying to get people in and actually look after the members they have. I waited for my 12 month contract to be up, and then even then they were really awkward about cancelling my membership. I'll be going elsewhere next time

Negative experience: I pay £30 a month which is the dearest gym locally and yet there's no aircon & the equipment is rank......gutted I'm in a 12month contract. They always tell me the aircon will be fixed soon. 4 months later !

Fantastic experience: Well run. Capable friendly staff.

Negative experience: Really disappointed. The gym is really run down and although there are cleaning staff working the condition of parts of the changing and spa area are beyond the cleaning capabilities of a mop, they need tearing out and starting again. I would go home to shower because of the mould. The gym area itself is not attended enough and therefore equipment is not looked after by users with many weights and damaged and dropped without care. I was paying above average for the area and soon found myself joining and attending a much cleaner better maintained 'budget' gym for a 3rd if the price for the majority of my membership and enjoying it far more.

Fantastic experience: This gym is great. Staff super friendly, the changing rooms are clean, pool is small but does the trick. Gym is fully equipped, nice atmosphere and CLEAN. Every time I've been I've ALWAYS seen someone cleaning the place, other people saying this doesn't happen are simply liars.

Negative experience: Nice place, but very expensive. Poor custemer service.

Positive experience: Very pleasant gym. The "high" price of the gym makes it very selective and you will never struggle to find a bench after 6pm. All the members and the staff there are honest and friendly. The fitness club is very clean and for the price you get a sauna hammam Jacuzzi and a swimming pool and a whole set of very challenging classes.To be perfect the club would have to have a crossfit area but the space is not there for that.

Negative experience: This gym use to be good. The staff are friendly but the standards have dropped a lot . - repair jacuzzi lasts a month time, despite comments (back jet) is still the same !! it still does not work!!

Negative experience: To expensive for what's. Staff simply don't care. Changing room dirty. Have to ask toilet paper after the cleaner just have cleaning toilets. (don't know what she have clean). Class teacher sympathetic it's the only good think that place have. Every day a new think missing or out of service....

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Friendly staff. Every item of gym equipment you could need. Plenty of free weights. Decent swimming pool. Jacuzzi and steam room and sauna. Clean modern changing rooms. Only thing that could be better would be more powerful showers

Negative experience: The staff are uninterested, the equipment is ok, although most of it has been there since it first opened about 10 years ago. There also seems to be less and less equipment, for example they recently removed all there ab crunch frames! The aircon doesn't work every summer (I don't think it has worked for at least 3 years!) The showers are poor, many don't work, some only work cold. The hand dryer in the men's toilet hasn't worked properly for the entire time I have been there. the water fountain has leaked for the last 8 months! Considering they expect you I pay £40 pcm for this it is very poor. Premium prices with second rate facilities.

Negative experience: This gym use to be good. The staff are friendly but the standards have dropped a lot...toilets and showers - buckets for urinals, very dirty and smelly and nothing has been done about it for months. Black stuff on shower ceilings and good luck in finding a working shower. Dare I say it almost feels like a health hazard. I wonder how long before someone picks up a bug from this place. No answer from DW customer service with regard to these issues. Fair mix of equipment and it has a swimming pool, sauna, steam room but let down terribly by standard of cleanliness I would not bring my children here until they give the place a thorough clean.

Negative experience: Decided to quit. Appalling level of maintenance. Gents urinals over-flowing for more than a month. Showers and changing room dirty. The gym equipment is in a poor state. The rowing machines are in demand but never repaired - their answer to that? Take two of them away. Music too loud and studio doors left open so the class music competes with that playing in the main gym. You can complain all you like but no-one takes a blind bit of notice.

Fantastic experience: Totally amazing gym so easy to see why it gets so busy somedays equiment amazing and staff and there for any problem and any help needed love this place

Negative experience: No walk-in option. Go to Bannatynes if you are from out of town.

Fantastic experience: In my opinion, the best gym in Newport although I haven't tried Bannatyne's because its expensive.
