Negative experience: Website is awful and the price is too high. Nothing special apart from the pool which I don't use, which I hear is quite bad.

Negative experience: Pickleball experience is nausiating and cramped, hall is idiotically shared with fitness group with extremely loud music and annoying feedback. Curtain blows onto court and obscures and limits the court space. Certainly wont return, be smarter

Negative experience: Outdated, dirty, closes early, expensive compared to other gyms nearby, no monthly rolling contract, staff quoted the wrong price and contract terms, no induction, weird sign in procedure every time you want to use the facilities. You should aim for keeping customers based on the strength and value of your offering, not by trapping them in contracts. I'll obviously never go back, and strongly discourage anyone not to go here. Well done you've tricked me, enjoy the money and this slow round of applause.

Fantastic experience: Don't really often write reviews but this is worth it. My partner and I often visit Parish Wharf for the kids pool even though it isn't our local. Today is the second time that a lady called Jane was behind the counter and she is so helpful and friendly and her customer service from the previous time was memorable as I remembered it was her who served us last time - that is why I'm writing this. A smile and a good sense of humour goes a long way! Thanks Jane!

Negative experience: September 2024: Took our 3 year old. The pool is too cold, we had to leave when they started to shiver and their skin was mottled. The little pool itself is fun, but the jacuzzi doesn't work, and the changing room floor is dirty with clumps of hair. It's a real shame because it could be lovely.

Positive experience: Brilliant at the gym and badminton courts. Not tried the pool for ages! People seem to clean the changing rooms often

Negative experience: Horrible , freezing cold pool not good for baby’s our little man was already shivering from the first min. It says to take shoes off on the beginning but when we did there was mud and dirt everywhere. Never seen a pool like this. The chlorine smell is very bad, skin irritated from it, to much chlorine isn’t healthy. I’ve worked for years in a pool. When you go home even after hours and hours and shower you still smell it. Me and my Man were very upset as it should be nice and warm for babies!!! Instead of turning blue and shiver the whole time. not even one star worth !

Negative experience: Terrible experience at the pool today. First time visiting with our two kids who are 9 and 10. Booked a family fun leisure pool session. It stated kids under 8 must be supervised so made the assumption that this session would be suitable for over 8s as well. On arrival at the pool we found out they could only go in the baby area and as they were over 7 could not use any of the slides!!! They were essentially expected to splash about in 2cm water for an hour. There was a party in the main pool so they couldn't swim at all! Total waste of time and money. The guy on reception was very unsympathetic and unhelpful. His response to the question "what can they do then?" Was "Well it's up to them what they do!" Awful customer service. Falsely advertised session. Will not be coming back.

Negative experience: Lovely facility but be careful what you are getting for your session. We booked a "family fun leisure pool' session for our two kids aged 9 and 10. It shoukd be made.mucj more.xlead that this was ONLY the shallow baby pool, and that kids aged over 7 are not allowed to use the slides!!! This should be much more clearly advertised as an under 7s pool and no access to swimming. The duty manager was sadly not helpful.

Changing rooms are absolutely filthy. they clearly don't get cleaned often or properly. shame, as it could be and used to be a great pool to bring kids, but they just don't enjoy it when they are cold. Jacuzzi pool also freezing and jets don't work.

Negative experience: Never answer the phone, online booking system is just a joke. I told the (generally) unhelpful and miserable staff, was told, we have other customers to serve here so can't answer phone and the online booking system works sometimes. People walking in and out of classes while playing Badminton, often nets not set up...... Yeah so all in all standard these days.

Positive experience: A nice children’s pool with slides; however, it is far too cold for a children’s pool. I couldn’t keep my baby in there for long as it was freezing. I also didn’t see anybody over the age of 16 the whole time I was there. Concerns me slightly if there was a medical emergency what would happen (which at a swimming pool there could well be). The website to book is frustrating and takes a long time. Parts of the changing rooms need deeper cleaning (the floor specifically) and the disabled toilets need upgrading.

Negative experience: Sadly didn't have the best experience. Arrived at 10 to 4 and asked if I could pay and go for free swim as wanted to do some lengths. Lady at reception advised that the current session was only on until 4:30pm and was that OK if not I could come back later and do the nest session. I said now was fine as just wanted to get some lengths done and half hour was OK. When I got to the pool side it was just about 4 O 'clock. There were 3 life guards at the side all who watched get in the pool. I swam 2 lengths and was then advised by one of them that the pool was now closed and I needed to get out! I explained what the receptionist had said and they said I couldn't stay in and that next session was 4:30. No apologies and quite unsympathetic. So I then sat in the children's leisure pool for 30 mins while I waited for the pool to reopen. What should have been an hours round trip for a swim ended up being nearly 2. Pool was also very chilly, both the children's leisure pool and main pool. Sadly this has put me off going again.

Positive experience: Only ever used the leisure pool but nice for little ones with slides and sprinklers, sometimes water can be a bit cold, the inflatable course looked good!

Positive experience: Leisure pool is small, shallow and quite cool in temperature. Can't access main pool on leisure pool ticket. No really happy medium between toddlers and bigger kids. Staff were very nice.

Positive experience: Decent facilities. Pool is good, well maintained, locker rooms are very good. Three stars because of the male changing rooms, way to small. Definitely need to knock down a wall or something. And the gym. A lot of cardio machines and great quality. However the lifting and weights side of it is lacking equipment, space and potentially another set of weights along the wall. Kinda difficult to chose the place with pure gym just down the road witch I would have gone two if I didn't want the pool.

Positive experience: Love this place. The staff are amazing, the new gym is state-of-the art, and the classes are excellent. Improvements would be more parking spaces (the gravel needs resurfacing in the small car park), heating in the changing rooms (it's too cold to shower in there) and better music in the gym, or at least turn down the music being played.

Negative experience: I a bit disappointed you can use swimming just for one hour -main all family or kids pool just kids .Sad

Negative experience: Went swimming today and it was freezing my child’s lips and skin were blue… when I asked the lifeguard if it gets any warmer he said it doesn’t and he doesn’t know anymore as it’s above his pay grade definitely will be finding somewhere else to swim in the near future. Parish Wharf used to be good but has gone downhill immensely

Negative experience: Cold water in the fun pool. Overzealous jobsworth lifeguards threatening to throw kids out for the slightest transgressions. Not much fun for a fun pool!

Negative experience: They reduced the pool temperature to save energy bills now my children refuse to to into the pool for classes because it too freezing cold! It's heart breaking seeing my children shivering in the pool then come out with purple lips and blue skin! Not good! If this doesn't improve I'll have to take them elsewhere to take swimming lessons!

Positive experience: Parking spaces are quite narrow, especially if trying to get kids in and out of cars. Family cubicles could do with being a bit wider and more of them too. Staff are okay, some friendly and helpful others are a bit frosty.

Fantastic experience: It has now become a seriously good gym...we went to the new Pure Gym for 3 weeks ..showers never hot...only 6 spin bikes...(although they were much better than the very old ones at Parish)...at £28 per month including classes, swimming, off peak badminton you can't go wrong.

Fantastic experience: The swimming pool is perfect for a morning swim. It too busy and time slots of 45 mins are great for me.

Negative experience: Dislike the strict time slot system currently in place at the leisure centre. Swimming sessions are not long enough - between 45-60 minutes maximum. If you have young children you will now need to choose whether you book for the small leisure pool or larger main pool. There is no free flow between pools anymore, so if you wish to use both pools (or relax in the hot tubs) then you will have to pay double. You will now find the swimming pool very crowded as everyone is herded in and out of the pool at designated times. It isn’t the most enjoyable experience… You will also find that the leisure centre still charge you the full cost of a 60 minutes swim even if your session only allows you to swim for 45 minutes. The customer loses 25% of their swimming time but still pays the full cost. Why? Also, get ready for heaving changing rooms and queuing at the showers. Before strict session times were enforced, swimmers would enter and leave the pool at different times, meaning there were always plenty of available showers and changing cubicles. Now, everyone enters and leaves the pool at the same time (including the next session of swimmers getting in after you). Parish Wharf leisure centre needs to seriously consider making some changes to the current system. It is not good enough.

Negative experience: As a local I have used this swimming pool for years. It just seems to be getting worse and worse recently. Ironically as you go in the changing rooms there are signs asking you to remove your shoes to 'keep the changing rooms clean' however they are disgusting, and I was there early in the morning. There is limescale, mould and mildew everywhere in and around the pool and changing rooms and its just generally dirty. The showers are really hot and the pool is cold. You book in for a family leisure session and can now only use the little pool, which wouldn't be so bad if everything worked but all the sprays/jets and often one slide is out of use. There was even sand and grit on the floor in one of the 'hot tub' pools. The main pool was empty during our session yet we weren't allowed to go in it. The lady on reception was very apologetic and polite, however the lifeguard seemed to be more interested in chatting with colleagues than being polite to the customers. It's such a shame as it used to be a great place to swim for all my family but we won't be going back again until things have improved.

Positive experience: Been swimming regularly here for over a year...gone a long way to improve ankle injury glad we have this local resource. I see plans in hand to refurbush gym...pool changing rooms/showers do the job though looking a bit tired and in need of TLC..however, long may the pool be open for use throughout the winter months again !!

Negative experience: Gym equipment is worn out and in need of replacing. There’s also young kids under 11 using the equipment with no idea what they are doing and highly likely to hurt themselves

Positive experience: The reason for the 3 stars is cleanliness. The floor in the changing rooms need regular cleaning throughout the day as it looked pretty grim and quite off putting in some main walkways at 10.00am on a Sunday morning. This is basic stuff.

Negative experience: Rude and unfriendly customer service. I bought a swimming pool entry cards before Covid and i can not use it ever since. The booking system does not accept tem, so you have to call the reception. Be the lucky one, to be connected to the operator! Then you have to choose to go to the big or to the small pool, because you can't use both of them. It is simply impossible to come with small children and bigger ones, because they won't let you! Horrible place and system! Yes, the water is often cold.

Negative experience: Coming here, you get the very real impression the people who run it cannot stand their customers and have devised a series of small but very irritating ways to get revenge on them. The pool is always slightly too cold, you have to bring your own padlock for the lockers, they insist you take your shoes off but there's nowhere to put your shoes, if you turn up for a session and there's free spaces you still have to book, if something is broken or out of service it will stay that way for months, the staff will argue with you over the smallest thing, it's very dirty in places and often smells. None of it is *terrible* but absolutely nothing about it is pleasant either.

Negative experience: Visited parish warf on Sunday afternoon was quite shocked how much it has changed . Dirty changing rooms showers mouldy . All bars and railings rusty hairdryers rusty or not working really does need a make over and cleaning up

Positive experience: Took my 2 hear old for Some splashing in small pool, you need to book an hour slot in advance, (which does make it not to busy ) also lockers have no locks, it was over 10 yrs since I last went, the floor in the swim change area was still mucky, people still wearing shoes in, my 2 year old was freezing cold after 30mins, the water wasn't warm enough, they seem to have invested in computer screens and camera for monitoring, I heard a lot of people complain about cold water. The water sprays and a slide were out of action. So no change in over 10 years really, place smacks of cost cutting and lack of care and attention & organisation. There was a parking attendant monitoring cars in rammed carpark. Perhaps council making more money from fines. Mixed bag really my son enjoyed it tho.

Positive experience: Too expensive to go on a regular basis, could do with some proper spin bikes

Negative experience: Disapointed once again. Main pool freezing cold 3rd time in a row . You would like to think after having a new heating system put in it would actually be warm

Positive experience: Need to have locks with keys or codes. Who has spare padlocks in their bag.

Fantastic experience: Staff were great and the pool was awesome for the kids! Little annoying about the padlock for the lockers but I guess we could have checked on the website as we just assumed the normal pound or wrist band key.

Positive experience: Pleasant harbour side location with trees grass parking and disabled parking. Also appears to have electric car charging facilities.

Negative experience: Tired. Needs an overhaul. Pool is ok but leisure pool is rubbish.Pool area dirty and bodged repairs etc. Changing area dated. Showers rubbish no water pressure.Stupid set swim times and cannot use hot tubs when in main pool anymore.Had to queue to swim even though I’m a member and booked because the girl on the counter was now a coffee barista and in between serving guests looks like she’s running a cafe.The other reception member was doing a lengthy new membership commencement. Surely they could of quickly let the members through rather than spend all day making coffee and filling out forms for probable commission. Disappointed!!

Negative experience: It does not appear possible to join the gym without paying for use of the swimming pool.

Fantastic experience: We love it here. Great place to take the kids. Scenery outside is lovely. Free parking as well. Close to Portishead shoos.

Negative experience: The leisure pool is nice for young children if and when it is open but as today shows. It is not open to 5.30pm even though it is for under 7s. Also, it's goggles. Hopefully you aren't having a weeding when you get married.

Negative experience: Really annoyed at the disregard shown for your personal property. If your child leaves clothing on the premises they will dispose of them within 24 hours. The rationale is hygiene but this is the only leisure centre I have ever been to that does this. I am not sure the hygiene issues posed by a child’s swimming shorts that have been soaked in a chlorinated pool.

Negative experience: The most anti customer leisure center ive been in. Terrible, looping, broken website, insistence on registering before use, lockers are bring your own lock (but this isnt stated clearly anywhere before arriving), sessions are mega short, facilities are bad (small) and the staff, although friendly, are victims of "computer says no" so are unable to actually help or do anything if anything goes wrong or you want to change... Anything... Avoid, there are better in the area.

Negative experience: Absolutely filthy. Toilets and basin didn't look like it had been cleaned in months. Floors need a damn good clean. They are really slippery too. My child went flying and was walking holding my hand and nearly took me with them. Not funny as I have severe arthritis. Also told I would need to buy a lock as lockers were not not lockable. Another £5.00. And when we did try and use the lock it didn't work properly. Would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Horrible. !!!!! Did a 30 mile round trip for 35 minutes in a disgusting and quite cold pool. Will definitely not be returning!!

Negative experience: Still awaiting a family swim refund after booking in June for a family swim beginning of July.. however due to un forseen circumstances and getting a call 20 mins before session they said centre was closed apologised and said I would get automatic refund as booked on line( however they knew the centre was closed before they even tried to open so pretty poor late cummunication) nearly 5 weeks now and no refund after 3 phone calls and being told someone will call.. no calls so I went in .. they said they can't give refunds it has to come head office apologised and said something went wrong in the system so refunds wasn't issued.took my number again and still no call. Been told again today by manager adam he's sorry and he had a email 4 days ago to say refunds can take another 14days.. absolutely poor customer service !quick to take someone's money but not give it back if I didn't look I would of just assumed the refund was given.not once have I had an apoligy explaining the situation until I have contacted them. Emailed there head office and nothing!

Positive experience: Can't comment on the Leisure Centre in general. I park there for a weekly Health Walk with the Portishead Strollers, and used to pop in to use the loo in prepandemic times. Seems to be getting busy again. They're installing EV charging points which I may use.

Positive experience: First time back since before the first lockdown. Good measures in place and happy to return.
