Fantastic experience: Great cost of activities and clean

Negative experience: My son got shouted at and told to stop swimming right away during a booked swim session by a lifeguard who was around 20 years old as she believed he wasn’t 8 years old. More insulting is that she commanded my son to stand up and leave the swimming pool so she could measure his height by barely looking and it‘s totally not about the height. She checked with a coach and their system has been faulty and we‘ve been asking them to change the DOB for literally years but they didn‘t. Upon checking she adds that she doesn’t believe my son, who is just 8 years old and was powerless. His worried and scared older brother suggested the lady talk to mum who was watching right up the balcony. This lifeguard again ignored them and left them isolated, abused and upset. Eventually and frustratingly the two boys had to wait till the session was over to tell mum. We unbelievably had to prove our son‘s age by opening up arbor. The lifeguard of course did not apologize to our poor little boy(s) and shirked all responsibilities of being abusive and rude. We hope that there will be no more poor victims in the future and this won‘t be happening to other children who are supposed to be enjoying swimming in a safe and protective environment.

Positive experience: Excelente service at the Spa

Negative experience: The staff there is very rude

Negative experience: The place is pretty much useless. Customer service is non exist either online, by the phone or on-site. I tried to book services online and the website has not been working for 6 days straight. Nobody will ever pick up the phone, ever! Regardless of whatever automated menu number buttons you press. On-Site the place is run by kids, with no customer services experience and usually there is no management around who can help, if there is they are usually obnoxious and look down on customers. I have witnessed this first hand. Avoid this place, useless!!

Fantastic experience: I love this Centre. Staff are friendly, and it has everything you need to keep fit.

Negative experience: Toilets in mens gym have been unusable for at least six weeks , although the staff know about this issue and have informed the management nothing is being done. Disgraceful and disappointing !!!

Negative experience: Kindly note the following issue with the gym facilities: The toilets in the male changing room have been out of service for a considerable amount of time. Some time ago, there was a leak that caused a foul smell and created an unhealthy environment. The situation escalated and at times, dirty water was flowing from the toilets to the gully located in the changing area. This is completely unacceptable and does not meet basic health and safety standards.

Fantastic experience: Spent an extremely relaxing afternoon in the thermal spa, with an hour-long massage in the middle from the wonderful Ash, and feel looser than I have in years. Highly recommended! X

Negative experience: We come for the soft play, which we like. However, while we were happy the cafe improved with hot food they close orders for hot food when there is an order for the spa?!? And customer service can be better, don’t think it needs to be below standard just because we are in potters bar.

Negative experience: Went to the soft play there and had to pull my child out after 15 mins due to a gang of much older kids running wild and pushing my child (and others) around. When I went in to rescue my child after witnessing this, I was met by a torrent of abuse and swearing by the gang of children, which was just shocking. While the parents are mainly at fault for not keeping an eye, there were no staff watching what was going on so it was only when my friends and I walked out and complained was someone sent in to deal with it. Real shame, as the soft play itself is a good set up and it's a great price. Guess you get what you pay for.

Fantastic experience: Clean, brilliant staff, best one to go to out of inspire all centres.

Negative experience: Rude staff, not suitable for family swimming

Fantastic experience: Regularly classes are given for aqua aerobics and stretch and strength Pilates. Instruction is of a high order and classes are very reasonably priced with a variety of membership deals. Free parking, lovely cafe, and you make lots of friends. There is an amazing softplay area, big enough for older children, too.The climbing area is really fantastic, Friday sessions are very popular. Don't forget to book before. Significantly improved over the last couple of years, cleaner, more consistent and with a better cafe. It's a really nice place now and we often go there with the kids for fun swims.

Negative experience: Very bad toilets in terms of cleanliness. I had to use it once, it wasn’t clean. I think that such places should always be clean and hygienic.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I came here for her birthday. We had a sauna and steam room with a Swedish massage. Hayley was just simply sublime. She worked out a few years of knots. If you ever get a chance to have a day off and relax go here. I can recommend her enough

Positive experience: Use this place for playing badminton. Issues sometimes with mix ups with bookings.

Negative experience: I would give zero if I can, mites have taken over this leisure centre, flies live in the changing rooms, showers smell like mould and this is on a clean day. The equipment is limited especially at a busy time so plan to go very late or very early. I’ve not been in the swimming pools as I was told by some members it’s also dirty. Cancelled membership after being told by my dermatologist that I developed a skin rash from the dirty sauna and steam room humidity. I would stay far from this place even though it’s local for many, which is a shame because it has members giving high fees.

Positive experience: The soft play would be five stars but they have two sets of speakers playing different music on full level. It’s painful. It’s loud enough. Have they lost the plot?

Negative experience: The vending machines in the gym are scamming machines. The yellow machine in particular generates error or says that the item is out of stock but still charges you or says your payment didn't go through but still charges Shocking that this is allowed to be at gym like this. Company name is selecta

Positive experience: The kids always enjoy their time in the soft play and it's not very expensive to go.

Negative experience: Absolutely appaulling staffing and communication. I paid just short of £25 for 1 hour and waited 40 minutes to get in the pool because we was not told by the person at the desk that so called "fun swim" started at 1oclock. Asked to speak to manger and was just not interested.

Fantastic experience: Amazingly warm baby/learner pool. Nice cafe, plenty of parking and lots of variety for activities. Impressive.

Negative experience: HORRIBLE SOFT PLAY!!! The people are so horrible and i heard them talking about my son about how his "hair" is too long? Im sorry but hes 4!!!! The slides are also a BIG hazard my son nearly fell and the equipment is broken and dirty!!! I dont recommend my son came out crying with a big cut because something in the "soft" play cut his arm? Is it REALLY a soft play? It should be called a hard play

Positive experience: Its alright. The soft play was very good for a leisure centre, we went here for a friends sons birthday party. The party food room after playing was just a studio with gym equipment with no music etc. Once the children finished eating the parent had to keep them away from the equipment. Staff where unmotivated a little bit. Overall alright.

Fantastic experience: I've been playing football, badminton and squash here for a number of years and never had any issues. The reception staff are friendly.

Fantastic experience: There is an amazing softplay area, big enough for older children, too. My son is 7 and he loves it. And the climbing area is really fantastic, Friday sessions are very popular. Don't forget to book before.

Negative experience: Out dated machines in the gym. Gym staff a rude, no actual interest in the job. Staff in swimming pool decided to have a go at me for swimming in the wrong direction but letting other people do just as i did. Lost my second job and couldnt pay for mine and my partners membership. Im trying to move somewhere cheaper. Cant really afford christmas for the family. Just about getting by for food and furzefield gym are forcing me to pay £50 for both of us for the next 4 months. Dont bother. Go to pure gym in near boreham wood. No human compassion, lack of empathy.

Fantastic experience: We visited yesterday and we were so impressed! We visited as a result of a flyer that came through our door. Fantastic staff on reception and in the cafe. The soft play itself is superb, the children loved it. We look forward to our next visit. Well done Furzefield.

Negative experience: Do NOT book your party here !!! I have just had my children's birthday party here and they over committed and under delivered. They promise that they have a party planner to help organise they event except on the day - they couldn't actually do anything that we asked. BOILING HOT DAY and no ice for the drinks, kept the one fan they had to themselves in the cafe until we asked if we could actually use it for our guests and the children to cool them down, no air conditioning. Infact - they didn't even bother to bring out the ice creams for the children which i paid for. I asked beforehand if tablewear was provided and i was told it was unless i wanted something themed - so i didn't buy anything. Ended up with no table clothes on the tables - not even a plain one and the food that i paid for came in cardboard boxes - not even plates!!! WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOUR PARTY PLANNERS DOING To top it all off - i ended up with TWO PARKING TICKETS FOR MY TWO CARS because it's my fault that i didn't put my number plates into their systems. An email was sent to me 4 months before the event but no one bothered to remind me on the day - so that is my fault as well. All in all - made a complaint and only offered compensation for the ice creams that they didn't bring out. GUYS' - SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Fantastic experience: Great softplay. Large and clean, with very helpful staff. My first choice for softplay birthday parties

Positive experience: Great range of activities for adults and children. The changing rooms could be better looked after

Positive experience: Nice and clean. Staff a little under-trained when asked about junior memberships. All round nice morning in soft play with my sons.

Negative experience: got attacked by 7 year olds the kids r so feisty can parents coming here acrually sort themselves out

Fantastic experience: Went here recently for a soft play party. Staff were very friendly and the soft play is one of the best we have been to. Kids had so much fun and absolutely worn out. Thanks Furzefield

Fantastic experience: As my daughter (GG) moves from Maxine's stage 1 class to a new stage 2 class. I wanted to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Maxine for teaching her to swim. Maxine has done a fantastic job, she is patient and understands the children. We were very fortunate to have her as our daughter's first swim teacher. She has come such a long way since she started swimming in October 2021 when she was nervous, apprehensive and very clingy in the water. Maxine has done an amazing job from reassuring her in the early days, building her confidence right through to teaching her to swim independently and improve her technique. I wanted to express our gratitude to Maxine and highlight what a fantastic swim teacher she is. We hope that one day she will be taught by Maxine again. In the meantime a big thank you from us!

Positive experience: Good size pool and facilities. Changing rooms are quite grim but not worse than most public pools. The swimming hours are very weird, hard to know when it's opened.

Negative experience: Why is the Astroturf Football Pitch locked with a padlock? Why does Furzfield Leisure Centre Not want kids to play on the football pitch? This is absolutely disgraceful!!! Furzfield you should be ashamed of yourselves. One day we found the pich unlocked and I went in with my son as I wanted to have a kick around with my 4 year old son and someone ran out of the Leisure centre and ran towards me saying you have to pay £5 each to play on that pitch if you want to play for free you can play on the grass. What an absolute joke depriving kids from playing football. Imagine all the poor kids who love footbal having to pay £5 to play football everyday for the summer holidays that would equal to all-round £200. Furzfield you are contributing to kids getting up to no good and taking the wrong path why are you charging for kids to have fun play sports and keep fit and healthy. I understand if you have bookings and football clubs booked but if the pitch is not booked then kids should be allowed to play football. It's shocking and I know I am not the only one who feels like this. Take the padlock off and let the kids play football for God's sake. Unbelievable.

Positive experience: Very busy on weekends and one of the rare squash court around the area. Could be better, but does the job

Fantastic experience: Top softplay. Visited from Barnet and seems to be the best softplay around the area (beats the ones we visited in Barnet and Southgate). 4 floors, one double bumby 2 floor slide, one swirly 2 floor slide. Good dedicated toddler area. Has a cafe in the area that seems to always have offers (today was a free slushie Inc with softplay). Is very quiet. We are the only people on a Sunday morning at 9am

Fantastic experience: Great local swimming pool, gym & sports centre. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff, especially Will the life guard he went above and beyond. Good car parking out front too. Beware they have introduced parking cameras with a 3 hour stay limit.

Negative experience: Was not impressed firstly the changing rooms are a joke, careful if you have daughter's because its unisex??? The kids are not even allowed to use the floats even in the kids pool. Because apparently they are for lessons only? Half the main pool will be closed because of lessons? Even tho you pay for the whole pool. Food is rubbish too. For the price absolute joke. £18.00 2 adults 2 kids 1 hour....?

Positive experience: Furzfield Centre is a very convenient leisure centre in Potters bar, it hadls multiple activities for kids, I think still there is room to improve this massive space , managinge clean and hygiene and adding jacuzzi

Positive experience: Nice learner pool for children to gain confidence in the water. Showers can get too hot and there's no temperature control but they're currently renovating the charging area so that may improve.

Negative experience: The staff was all good and helpful except the managers, they don't help at all, I have heard they make the staff work too much and pay less. I tried to email them but they didn't reply back to my email and I can't even email the admin.

Positive experience: It's a good venue, but unfortunately badminton is oversubscribed & lately difficult to get a court.

Positive experience: Lockers in need of urgent attention .changing rooms need a good clean always water laying .other than that and having to walk round the public area to swim .enjoy my time there

Negative experience: Nice place but I was expecting more in the soft play area especially where the babies are is very dirty you can clearly see that is not clean and hair hanging everywhere in the babies area !! I have been to many soft plays and farm and was kinda clean but this place is sad they should improve something not even music to turn on for kids and the price is way to high for the expectations

Positive experience: I recently visited this leisure centre and I was so impressed with the facilities and services they provide. It is modern, with a variety of activities to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering advice and support when needed. The swimming pool was great and there was a wide selection of gym equipment available. But overll it was filthy thus the 3 star rating!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place. Great cafe, so many things to do and Fizzifun was awesome for my 18 month old. The soft play looks amazing!

Negative experience: Reception is a joke. Never answer the phone, constantly make errors and on the rare occasion you manage to speak to someone they come across as obnoxious and uncaring. Facilities are good, just very hard to make a booking to use them.

Negative experience: Staff are awesome! Gym and environment is friendly :) but the male toilets and showers are just filthy…wouldn’t hurt to have a team every hour to clean and maintain. Thus the two star rating.

Fantastic experience: Great place for a birthday party to keep active little ones busy

Negative experience: Very poor customer services, no one answers calls or replies to emails. General manager never replied or acknowledged my email. I had to visit the centre in person as no one answered my call!

Negative experience: Never answer their phones! Tried calling over 20 times in the last 3 days and no one ever answers!

Fantastic experience: Had a lovely swim and went to aqua aerobics

Negative experience: The gym and toilets are very dirty. It’s been even worse for the past month. There are never any instructors in the gym or anyone to supervise which is very unprofessional and unsafe. The workers are very passive aggressive and rude which made me uncomfortable ( not all but some ) find a better gym and save your money this place is only falling apart day by day.

Positive experience: A modern Leisure Centre, a bit off the beaten track, but has all the facilities you would expect. Gym, pool, many classes run here & a particularly good soft play area for the youngsters to run around & let off steam. The car park can get very busy at peak times.

Fantastic experience: Excellent climbing facilities and staff for children. Good soft play. I haven't tried the swimming pool or gym, it all looks very modern. Nicely situated to large green space and playground. Car park is free for a couple of hours.

Fantastic experience: Great spot, only made use of the soft play today but great areas for bigger and ampler children. Free parking for up to 3 hours too which is great.

Positive experience: It’s good to have a lesuire centre locally, but there are two things that needs improvement as people have been complaining about it as far as I remember. The swimming changing area and soft play area both are filthy!! I do understand that still some people refuse to wear slippers etc but once in a while it need a good clean at least. Also, the receptionist are not responsive over the phone at all.

Positive experience: Good gym and facilities, don’t even bother to try and phone though. No one ever answers the phone there for membership enquiries or booking. I phoned 16 times in one day. Line is never picked up

Negative experience: Would be better but the gym manager (asian guy) has an attitude problem and tells the members to do his job for him i.e. to put weights away.

Fantastic experience: Grandchildren love it there especially the Climbing and Softplay. Lovely Atmosphere Staff very Friendly , Welcoming, Proffessional which makes it a very enjoyable experience

Positive experience: I swim at this centre most days of the week and enjoy every visit. The staff at reception are always pleased to see you and will help you with anything you ask of them, life guards are friendly and polite too. The café could do with a better selection of food but for it's size it's not too bad for a quick drink and bite after a swim or workout in the gym. Word of Warning, you get 3hrs free parking, but if you stay over that time remember to enter your details on the parking screen for another 3hrs, or you will get a ticket. The atmosphere in the pool is one of a friendly family of people, why don't you come down and see for yourself, I'm sure you will get a friendly welcome.

Positive experience: Straight to the fact, you can get better receptionist and will het better, weekend of Aug 13to14, in the Morning!! You are a receptionist not a libraurian, but aprt from everything is good

Fantastic experience: The centre staff were amazing, they were so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the centre to anyone. The pool was also great as well as the soft play. Will be going again

Negative experience: I see a lot of good reviews and yes it does have a good gym, soft play and pool but the place is filthy. I've seen many a leisure centres and this one is definitely not being deep cleaned. It's mouldy and rusty in areas. The swimming pool changing rooms are pretty awful and the soft play isn't done regularly. It's a shame really and hopefully they see this and consider cleaning more regularly.

Fantastic experience: Swimming pool is a great place for adults and kids. It's a pleasant place for fun, birthday party and all other entertainment.

Fantastic experience: First time when I’ve been here it was for a birthday party in a room that it’s been used for soft play. Then after a few months we decided to take our daughter to learn how to swim and she likes it very much. They have a big swimming pool for adults and two smaller ones for kids. This place has a viewing area where you can sit and watch your kids while they swim and you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, grab something to eat from the counter in the main entrance lobby. Car park is big enough and there is a car wash in the back.

Fantastic experience: Great clip and climb! Lovely helpful staff. Exciting soft play area. All in all highly recommended.

Positive experience: Can benefit from an open pool and definitely refurbishment on the pool dressing rooms.

Fantastic experience: Great place for every member of the family. I love the swimming pools personally, my children love the soft play areas, the play play ground outside the building plus the LARGE FIELD to play football ⚽️.

Negative experience: Lane swimming is always over full and unenjoyable due to overcrowding, e.g. often there are 5-6 people swimming in 1 single lane.

Fantastic experience: The only thing I would have to say is that they should allocate more time for soft play. One hour is definitely not worth £7! But all in all, very nice and clean too!

Positive experience: An old but well run and looked after centre with pleasant and helpful staff.

Positive experience: Booked for my daughters birthday party. The climbing wall is great (a nailed on 5 stars). The instructors and host were also very good. The party room was very good. The reason it dropped a star was because trying to contact them either before booking or after booking is extremely difficult and frustrating. That aside is great. All the children had a great time and dragging them away was not easy. There are many other activities that can be done here but this review and rating is purely for the party climbing wall and party room. Would recommend for that.

Negative experience: Unfortunately the swimming classes and facilities don't even deserve 1 star! Staff and even the maneger, Andrew wyner, have had no training or understanding of normal behaviour of children and what can be expected from children, even though they run children classes! Regretfully, they have been told about "health and safety guide" which they will continually repeat without stopping to think or use common sense to apply that to their daily work! Taking children to this facility would not only discourage them from swim but will make make them hate water too.

Fantastic experience: Had my daughter 7th birthday at Furzefield. The process was so effortless the staff were so organised, professional helpful and friendly. I could not recommend it more! Lovely experience!!

Negative experience: I love the swimming pool my one star is for the ridiculous online booking almost impossible to register and account and when you do you need a password more secure than a bank and cannot add kids for swimming. designed by people who haven't got a clue what they are doing

Negative experience: The changing rooms are filthy. We have requested for the past year post lock down to get a cleaner to man the changing rooms. The staff are so wonderful but a clean changing room is the least a leisure centre could maintain
