Negative experience: A very disappointing stay this time. Jacuzzi out of action which was not mentioned, cold "heated" pool, cold shower, soap dispenser didn't work etc etc. Management were informed but not a word from them! Won't be going back!

Negative experience: If you ever get the chance to stay at Langstone Quays don’t. We stayed in room 287. No heating because the remote control was missing. Couldn’t phone reception because the phone wasn’t connected. Bare floors weren’t helped by the rug stained with hot chocolate. Staff floating about the hotel wouldn’t help. Ladies on reception were however wonderful. Couldn’t warm ourselves up because the kettle was crusted with…..crusty crud. Shower water was lukewarm. Am absolute shambles. Like a modern day Fawlty Towers without the laughs.

Fantastic experience: Booked for a night away , 2 rooms , 2nd room was upgraded free of charge so the rooms could be closer together, and had a view of the estuary, great experience , used the pool gym and sauna and steam rooms , breakfast was a well stocked buffet ,would stay again for sure.

Negative experience: LOOK AT THE PICTURES The spa New member lasted 4 weeks, now cancelled due to this place being a state let’s name below why. Changing facilities Showers Men’s changing rooms Toilets Showers and very poor condition Changing room temperature Cleanliness 0 staff trying to polish a turd Hot Tube been getting fixed for the last 4 weeks guess what still not fixed and they want you to pay you to pay full membership and it’s not working it’s in the small print Swimming pool In need of major repairs large areas of tiles are missing, Leaving sharp edges. This place is ⭐️ at most, Definitely not worth paying money to be a member, The hotel management should be ashamed and will try and milk it for as long as possible.

Fantastic experience: A lovely afternoon having lunch with Santa at Langstone Quays on Sunday. The food was absolutely lovely, full plate and so tasty. The service, friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Santa was absolutely amazing with family and children. He spent so much time with the little one gaining her confidence. Lots of photos and conversations about Mrs Claws and the reindeer The manager was kind friendly and checked we were happy. Couldn't fault this event and highly recommend this for a family with children. Lovely calm atmosphere.

Positive experience: Good size room, comfortable bed its just the shower/bath that lets it down and only a Dyson heater for the room (which is ok if left on....Nov visit)but just needs updating...good meal and breakfast . Good staff in all areas

Positive experience: Really enjoyed our recent stay here. It’s an interesting shaped hotel and in some ways a bit out of fashion but is well kept. Rooms are nice, we had a family room which suited our purpose with a young baby and travel cot but a bit pricey at £180. Access to a very nice pool is free, the bar is well stocked and pleasant - as are all of the staff - special mention to the lady on reception when we arrived who was super helpful and the lady lifeguard in the pool who was super friendly to our baby. Obviously a lot of conferences and weddings held here. Negatives were the buffer breakfast - really nice choice but too much of it had been left sitting there for a long time and was past its best - and one last food gripe… £3.20 for a packet of standard size crisps! But all in all a very pleasant stay

Positive experience: Our room was a bit dark as the arrangement of lights resulted in dark spots. Not good for applying your make up. No shaving mirror in the bathroom. Staff are the friendliest hotel staff I have found anywhere and the level of service was exemplary. Food was good both in the evening and breakfast.

Fantastic experience: The reception, dining room, breakfast duty and bar staff alike were all friendly, professional, upbeat and quietly efficient. The buildings and interiors and setting and landscape are all quirky and quintessentially south of England.

Positive experience: Needs a bit of TLC but did the job. I was glad I read other reviews and was prepared for the over the bath shower with fabric shower curtain that sticks to you! The toiletries are fixed to the wall which you cannot reach if sitting in the bath. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn't working (one of the reasons we chose this hotel) and hadn't been for some time. Handy location for Hayling Island and Chichester. Worn carpet in places.

Positive experience: Very friendly and welcoming staff. Room was clean and comfortable, however slightly dated with an average bathroom. Food is good, but overpriced and clearly aimed at corporate customers.

Fantastic experience: What a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. A bit underwhelming when you arrive but once you walk in...... It's beautiful! The staff were super friendly and helpful. They were accommodating with a last minute change to our room requirement. Lots of parking.... Nice views of the sunset from our room. Convenient location for what we needed and an all round fab hotel!

Positive experience: For what we needed it was very good. Stuck in the emsworth rd for 6 hrs so literally booked a hotel as we could bear to be in the car any longer. Nicely surprised. The entrance looked nice, staff all helpful and nice. Food ok in the bar. There was a wedding when we stayed so some door slamming during the night but ok sleep wise other than that. Shower curtain was annoying as it stuck to you when trying to shower and a couple of more towels could have been provided. But would stay again. We thought is was good value for money. Just one thing . The cleaner walking in on my other half naked in the morning was not a great experience for him... Luckily he managed to be very near the door to stop her coming in.

Negative experience: I really hate leaving a bad review but we were so disappointed we didn't even stay. This was sold through Groupon as a 4* Superior double retreat! Upon arrival 5 members of staff (one playing with the others hair) kept us waiting an awkward couple of minutes before checking us into room 72. I naively paid for a late checkout, before we saw the room. Stark white walls, not a picture to look at, only two holes in the wall behind the telly. The room was well equipped but the dust in the cupboard with the ironing board was so thick and there was a discarded painkiller box under the bed with more thick dust and water left in the kettle. The big leather chairs were very comfy, after I wiped the stains off of one and removed the crumbs from the other. The shower head had limescale and yellow blobs on it, the sealant around the shower tray and tiles was blackened and the shower screen mottled with limescale. Outside our window was a very busy car park next to The Club. We never used the club facilities as we wouldn't use our shower. The grounds of the hotel were littered with piles of discarded mattresses, shipping containers, dead weeds, cobwebs, dirt and generally run down. We found one outside area that had some furniture but again, dirty and cobwebs everywhere. The Groupon deal included dinner in the restaurant. The difference in standards was night and day. The meal was fresh and tasty and the restaurant was very nice with nice views but then you see the patchy walls and cobwebs. Finally, we went to bed and found three long hairs and a red mark on the sheet (like nail varnish) and a white mark on the valance. We decided we had more comfort at home. It was such a shame as due to ill health we hadn't had a holiday for so long and was really looking forward to our night away but superior 4* this is not.

Positive experience: The room was nice and quiet, and the service was great. The gym and the spa were small but good. The food instead was underwhelming: too pricey and not up to the mark (fish and chips was particularly disappointing).

Negative experience: Hotel rooms are really grotty and dirty. Didn’t want to even use the shower. No lift in hotel so had to lift my heavy suitcase up the stairs and my room was far away from reception. Dirty room put me off eating in the hotel so I skipped breakfast. The only positive is the surroundings are beautiful.

Positive experience: Can't comment on rooms as didn't stay. A good venue for our Orvis Saltwater Fly Fishing Festival. Would suggest more bar staff though with over 100 thirsty fly fishers each day.

Fantastic experience: The hotel is a bit tired and the spa could do with a TLC and a deep clean but for the money it's a good place to stay and a great location. Special mention to Andy the assistant Manager. We had a small issue but he went out of his way to make it up to us.

Fantastic experience: Last minute decision to go to the Langstone Really impressed with the room and breakfast was good, staff very helpful. Decided to go to the pub opposite for evening meal, but that was a big mistake, especially when we came back and noticed the superb meals being dished up at the restaurant.

Negative experience: I booked to stay at this hotel with my husband for his birthday coming up. It was booked via Groupon. When booking, you get no confirmation from the hotel to confirm your booking so I tried to contact them. I went on their website to do the online chat on a Monday at 10am. I was told that they were closed. The same message also popped up on facebook. I called the phone number 5 times to be hung up on after selecting my option. Eventually, after phoning a different number and waiting for someone to answer the phone for 45 minutes I got through. The member of staff was extremely blunt, I was receiving one word responses to my important questions. I asked where I can view the menu for our included meal and I was told 'on the website'. I since have read the reviews of the place and don't fancy risking my luck with taking a 3 hour drive to get here if it's as bad as most of the reviews say. I can happily say I've cancelled the reservation and will not be staying here. I can't comment on the rooms or location, however the service was awful just from a phone call.

Positive experience: We had a lovely time on our weekend stay other than the following. Our room overlooked the hotel Aircon machines which were noisy. Our first night was spoiled by the noisy wedding party goers into the early hours of the morning and the toilets opposite to reception desk were disgusting which we believe were down to the wedding guest.

Negative experience: Strange.experience in this place.having arrived just after their breakfast sitting we asked to have coffee in the lounge for a business meeting. We were told that would not be possible.as the bar wouldn't open for a half an hour. We went to.sit down anyway. When 10 minutes later two gentlemen at the table beside us who were also having a business meeting if the laptops and loud voices talking sales were anything to go by, received coffees served to thierntable, my female.colleague asked the waitress for coffees again. We were told no. When asked why the table next to us had been served we were told: "THEY ARE BUSINESS PEOPLE.!". There was no other distinction apart from the gender of the individuals ( we had equally important looking laptops! ) We won't be returning. I hope if the manager reads this they invest in some training for their staff. Disgraceful.

Positive experience: The photos on the website look amazing- not so amazing once inside. Not worth the £300 for two nights. Food and staff absolutely lovely. The water in the pool was merky. The pool side was disgusting with algi and rust. The showers in the changing room was covered in limescale - could also smell the drainage. We booked a harbour view which was lovely, apart from directly underneath us was the back of the restaurant so we also had views of all the rubbish! :/ We also was not informed that there would be a Prom and a wedding being held on the nights we were staying. This ment there was limited parking, lots of crowds, drama and noise. Lovely location, wouldn't stay again for the amount of money.

Positive experience: The room we were given was a long, long way down long corridors and one of our party can't walk far. Girl on reception when we arrived was lovely but the one in the evening wasn't that friendly. Nothing is brought to the table at breakfast, including coffee and toast so it's a lot of getting up and down.

Positive experience: Didn't appear to be busy (car park less than half full) so I was surprised to be 'Roomed' so far from civilization. The hotel was quiet, the room was clean, staff pleasant though more interested in what colleagues were talking about. Fairly comfortable bed if a little high (my wife found it uncomfortable) Self service breakfast was not the best. Cheap sliced bread for toasting, hot drinks from a machine. The Muesli was bland, didn't bother trying the hot food.

Positive experience: Location of the hotel is lovely, but, room we got was very basic, not what I expected, and nothing like advertised. View was awful, overlooking some rooftop. Definitely need refurbishment and walls, bathroom door need repainting, but has everything you need. Toilet was still dirty on arrival but we didn't bother to compliant, you could write name on the tiles in the bathroom, as there was dust on tiles. I did ask if we could change the room but apparently hotel was fully booked. Disappointed with choice on dinner menu. We were unable to have dinner in the restaurant but offered choice to eat in the bar. Despite small menu their Shepherd pie was delicious. Followed by Sticky Toffee pudding. There was also a wedding, so bar was very busy, waiting time for drink was sometimes too long, however bar staff was very friendly. Disappointment came also in the pool area, we were told jacuzzi is not working, and when we tried to call reception, enquiring about the room service, just around 1am, phone was not working, so we went to reception and we've been told they turn it off at midnight. It made me wonder, if anything happened in the room, we wouldn't be able to contact anyone from reception. Despite all, breakfast was great and we might return in the future, but definitely ask for different room. It's comfy hotel, but do not expect any luxury, spa stay and pampering.

Fantastic experience: The Langston Quays Resort is one of the loveliest places we have ever stayed at. It is directly on the harbour & you have beautiful sunsets that you can enjoy while taking a stroll. But what makes it exceptional is Elle'Jai & both of the Jess's that work there, they are the loveliest receptionists we have ever encountered, they are superb, always helping if there are questions or any problems arise. Elle'Jai has provided an excellent experience over the course of 4 months while my husband is down here for work every week, she continuosly exceeds our expectations & makes us feel special by going the extra mile!!

Fantastic experience: Arrived here for a family wedding. Booked in online so hardly any waiting around. Staff were attentive and lovely - carried my case to my room, always ready with a smile and offers to help. Meals were scrumptious and easily altered for my wishes. I was given a wheelchair accessible room, which was brilliant, and the offer of a wheelchair if I got tired of hobbling around on my crutches. The sunset was spectacular on the evening before the wedding and the grounds lovely to peruse at leisure. Lots of chill out space to sit and natter and a well stocked bar. On the day of the wedding I was late because I couldn't find the lift, but a staff member came along and saved me, so I arrived in time to see the vows. More gorgeous food and some lovely speeches made the wedding meal lush and emotional. Then, after a rest, the evening shenanigans began, and as an old fogey I stayed in the bar, chatting, while most of the guests boogied well into the night. Really comfortable bed, which helped me sleep well. The shower needed a couple of minutes to warm up but was lovely and hot once sorted. Had a big smile on my face most of the weekend and felt very relaxed and refreshed as I checked out and said goodbye to family and friends.

Negative experience: Pretty Location. Unfortunately our room was absolutely disgusting. Wall light hanging off the wall. Chairs in room was filthy. Table had bits hanging off it. Dirty , dusty fans. Bathroom had a dirty sink and bath and terrible mould and rusted shower, metal. Dirty bed sheets. Thick dust on door frames and all lights. Dirty kettle and mugs. Walls and carpets had marks on them also. My fiancé went to use the bathroom opposite reception and it had human feaces over the floor. I spoke to reception a few times, we was told couldn't change rooms. I was asked to email whilst there images of our complaints which I did. Was only told if we return they would give us some money off , but as you can imagine we do not wish to return. Why would we !!! The restaurant was nice, very slow service in the evening although it was very quiet. Food was really good. If you book via groupon beware they use it as excuse not to compensate you.

Fantastic experience: Thank you to Marco and the team for a fantastic stay The location is perfect , almost magical & the facilities, restaurant are second to none Having grew up 35 years ago in Emsworth and surrounding areas - this was a special place for me to visit ( many memories ) We had a wonderful meal in the restaurant - the food was delicious, tender, perfectly cooked & the hot cross bun bread and butter pudding wow - what can I say! Marco the manager was efficient, warm, empathetic & extremely supportive in making our stay the best it could be - whilst being professional in all dealings Thank you - I highly recommend this hotel & can’t wait to come and stay again soon! Negative experience: Came here for my mums 50th with all the family. Everyone (there was around 25 of us) complained about the FREEZING cold water. I had to refill the kettle and pour boiling water into bath to make it somewhat tolerable for my 10 month old son. Shower head pressure was shocking, it hardly even touched your body, just shot of into a million directions. It was literally ice cold. When we complained they said they ‘turn the hot water off during certain times in day’ which just shouldn’t be a thing. Your a hotel why don’t you have constant hot water for your customers? The room just seemed so dirty, the bin had thick orange rust all around it, bathroom felt like it hadn’t been cleaned, carpet was clearly dirty and stained and felt sticky and my whole room stunk of fish. I thought it was just me that could smell it, until my family came in my room and asked what the strong fish smell was. The hotel gave a small discount to one of my family members and left all the rest of us. They said they’ll give us all a call back and never did. I wouldn’t of wrote this review if you had the decency to call me to sort this out but I don’t think it’s acceptable that because we left your hotel you think you don’t need to deal with the situation.

Fantastic experience: Have stayed here a few times with my choir for a training weekend. The rooms are lovely and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant has lovely views in all directions. There are a couple of good sized function rooms, one with its own bar.

Negative experience: We stayed at the weekend as a wedding anniversary treat away from the children. Check in took quite a while as there was a large queue and only one lady at the desk, not ideal when everyone has lots of bags. We were told by the lady at check in that our dinner reservation included wine but the restaurant told us it in fact didn’t and we were charged for it. When first booking, I was told there would be a complimentary ‘happy anniversary’ dessert plate of some sort in our room on arrival but there was nothing. Our shower had rubbish water pressure, sprayed everywhere and was lukewarm at best. The room was tired looking, with stained floors and furnishings. When we sat for dinner in the restaurant it was extremely noisy with lots of people walking by and shouting outside the door, and the music upstairs was so loud we could barely hear each other speak. Despite all of the issues, the food at the restaurant was amazing and we couldn’t fault any of the courses. The breakfast was also very good. Not sure we would bother to make the trip again though.

Fantastic experience: Our Rolls-Royce and Bentley club from Surrey spent a long weekerviceend at the Langstone Quays hotel. Great location, wonderful service, delicious meals, and amazing, well stocked bar! There is plenty of safe parking for our deluxe vehicles.

Positive experience: A 4-star but the room I stayed in was quite mediocre. The breakfast was absolutely excellent though and felt very much like a 4-star experience there. Just odd that rooms were a bit shoddy and dated.

Fantastic experience: Stayed here for a night away from the kids for my partners birthday. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the food in the evening was delicious. We especially enjoy the morning breakfast options (+a lay in with no kids!) and then going to the pool for a swim and chill in the hot tub.

Fantastic experience: I booked this last minute and from the moment we arrived the staff were all really helpful and friendly. It looks like the hotel has recently been refurbished but some parts still look a bit tired. The food was amazing couldnt fault it and great choice for breakfast too. Would stay again had a lovely night stay.

Negative experience: I’ve been visiting the leisure club for over 28 years which has really gone down hill and increased significantly in price recently. The sauna and steam room are way too cold, the showers are genuinely never warm which you have to constantly hold on with one hand - it’s is an insult for customers. The floors are very dirty including mould in corners of walls. The jacuzzi is often broken or closed way ahead of closing time, which is never communicated at the desk unless asked. This is all following shallowing of the deep end. Apologies for such a negative review but I am furious at the 50% increase to £150 13 visit for a ‘club’ which is lower standard that a typical leisure centre facility.

Positive experience: Sad! Strong presence of mould and smells like that. No hot water, cold shower only. Bear stale, stake was grilled next to the fish, possibly on top of the fish... Breakfast, nothing is to be shouting about it, boring and sad. Did not felt welcomed at all! Most definitely not going to be bothering again.

Positive experience: Was on a training course here so only saw parts of the complex i.e. not the rooms to sleep in. Ate lunch in the bar & food not cheap but very good. Function room was okay but heating either full blast or cold, apparently same in other rooms? Staff nice & helpful.

Negative experience: Oh dear. Very disappointed with the whole Christmas set up. The kitchen was completely overwhelmed for Christmas dinner and from that point forward it became a complete disaster. It is very bad to charge the price you do and treat your guests as badly as you have. Shame on the management!!! We wouldn't recommend..

Negative experience: Long check-in process where staff seemed confused about card details. Although I'd paid in full, they didn't seem to have my details and took another £50 from my card, not just a hold, like most places but actually took the money. Also, although contactless, they needed to see the physical card, which was highly inconvenient in these days of phone pay. The corridor to the room was freezing, but the room was warm despite blown double glazing unit full of condensation, which rather spoiled the beautiful view. Hardly any toiletries provided, just two huge bottles of shampoo and one hand wash. No soap, shower gel, or conditioner. The sink was stained. Bed and pillows very hard and uncomfortable. Food and bar very good. Free WiFi and parking

Positive experience: Nicely located hotel just over the bridge onto Hayling Island. Ideal for visiting Portsmouth and Gunwharf Quays. Just a fleeting visit so we didn’t use most of the hotel’s facilities. However the buffet breakfast was nice and we had an excellent dinner in the large, pleasant dining room with excellent views. The room was nice and comfortable, albeit average hotel standard. We will use Langstone Quays Resort again when we visit Portsmouth.

Positive experience: Comfortable rooms, good size, bed was very comfortable and I slept pretty well, shower was a bit hit and miss as sometimes it was almost cold, which was a little frustrating, breakfasts were ok, didn't have evening meals there as we went out. Guests have to use of the gym and pool, only used the gym once, it is pretty well equipped. Would definitely stay at this hotel again as overall it was a very pleasant stay and all the staff were very friendly,

Negative experience: Booked for 12 people for a very special occasion as one of our party is very very unwell and it may be the last time we can go out with him. Had booked in the restaurant in advance. When we went to our table, we were told there was no booking. What followed was a farce from start to finish. We were told we could have a table, but we had to wait a further hour. We finally got seated at 8:30. Then we were told there was nothing left on the menu, except burgers or fish and chips. We had no option to go anywhere else as we had all had a drink or two in the bar, so we could not drive anywhere else. We decided to have burgers or fish and chips, so as not to cause our very ill friend anymore distress. Our food did not come until gone 10 o’clock. By this time, Several of our party were rightly very appalled at the wait. They kept bringing us out tortilla chips, houmous, and pitta bread which was ridiculous as all we wanted was some food. We have stayed at the Langstone many times over the years however I will never go to Langstone again, and neither will any of our party. The staff were rushing around, trying to deal with a wedding party, a Xmas party and the usual hotel guests (us) and I really feel that £140 a night b & bwas really far too much… The room was basic & disappointing.. A small double bed, uncomfortable pillows, a window that was broken. No complimentary water. I can honestly say, I have never been so disappointed in the hotel stay in the past. This hotel used to be so good and it has really deteriorated. The guests are not cared for the staff are rushing around. The bar is understaffed and the wait is long. You cannot buy crisps or peanuts at the bar …if you’re hungry, you must order a meal. whoever now owns the Langstone should hang their heads in, shame at the way we were treated tonight. I am laying in bed in the hotel watching this review. I’m so sorry, that what should’ve been a special evening has turned out so badly.

Fantastic experience: Stayed here for 2 nights with my friend. Rooms were a decent size and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. There was a varied selection of hot and cold foods. The hash browns were an extra nice touch! The coffee machine had great coffee too. The pool was lovely and heated. Staff were friendly and attentive. Location of hotel was great. The Billy Trail is a great long walk close by if you want to blow the cobwebs off. Hotel is not too far from Portsmouth either. Overall we had a great stay and the hotel exceeded our expectations. Would stay here again!

Negative experience: Waterside Restaurant No staff in sight on arrival, so had to head back out to the bar area & alert a bar person who found someone from the waiting team. In a huge, empty restaurant, the three of us were given a table for two & had to wait whilst the waitress set a third place. Had to ask for a drinks menu. We were given a cocktail menu with no wines shown. Pointed this out & then given the wine menu. Long wait for the food in a deserted restaurant, with our third meal coming out quite some time after the first two. Really warm wine in short, dated glasses of yesteryear. Food was enjoyable but nothing extraordinary & it was expensive. About £21 for fish & chips. No atmosphere at all in the restaurant: bright lighting & no music. 10% gratuity added to bill that you have to ask to have removed, which is awkward. This restaurant needs a fire up its bottom.

Positive experience: We stayed as part of a Secret Escapes trip, though we added Saturday night because there was a lot we wanted to see in the area. It was an interesting stay! Just prior to arrival the road from the bridge was flooded. No problem-it was quite shallow. We then couldn’t get into our room because of a keycard problem. The staff were really good about it and gave us a couple of drinks coupons to use in the bar – which we did while we waited the 10 or so minutes. The key did continue to be temperamental. The room was nice and big. The Dyson heater really got the temperature up quickly. Unfortunately the water run for a bath was merely warm. We thought this was because it was a very busy Saturday night in the hotel. Unfortunately it wasn’t much better the following two nights. It was lovely and hot in the morning. Breakfast was great in the very interesting restaurant – round with good views. We found our stay quiet and comfortable. We were so busy visiting Chichester Cathedral, Portsmouth and the Weald and Downland Living Museum that we didn’t get to sample the pool or the fitness area.

Fantastic experience: Had a really lovely 2 night stay. The room was lovely clean and modern, with a complimentary bottle of bubbly and chocolate muffins as we booked direct. The bed was very comfy and made up perfectly. We took advantage of the on site spa that was immaculately clean, good size pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant on the first night, food was good quality and suitably priced. The second evening we ventured to the two pubs that were in walking distance (watch the tide times or you do get wet feet) both were lovely and worth a visit. The breakfast was buffet style, with plenty of choice and they were quick to top things up as they ran low. This is a super busy hotel and the staff were all exceptionally efficient, polite and helpful in every area we went and made the stay very enjoyable.

Positive experience: I was disappointed that the lift wasnt working at all. If anyone was in a wheelchair they wouldn't have been able to access the 1st floor party. Very expensive for an alcohol free gin and lemonade, over £8, no alcohol free cider available. Lovely venue just needs a bit of fine tuning

Fantastic experience: Very nice hotel located on Hayling Island. Nice resort with a well looked after swimming pool , sauna and steam room. Nice gym for a hotel as well. Rooms were well looked after and were at a very high standard when we 1st arrived. Service at the bar and during dinner was brillant the staff are wonderful and food is high value for the price. Would recommend for people needing to stay on hayling or looking for a quiet holiday.

Negative experience: The Langstone has the ambiance of a tired motel. From the start, there was rubbish and dirty linen piled on the floor not hidden from view in reception on our arrival. Member of staff on reception in his sports gear was inappropriate, I had no idea he was staff! The room was dirty, carpet stains, obvious stains on the bed runner, bathroom not properly cleaned. Wires hanging out of a light. Bathroom was tired and old with deep marks and stains and a shower curtain - no 4 star hotel should have a shower curtain. No drinking water, no tissues (there was a box, empty). The water glass was full of soap! Which I didn't realise until I drank from it. Towels frayed and old. The shower curtain caused water all over the floor, so I left the wet towels in the bath. Next day housekeeping didn't replace any of them. This is really basic hotel housekeeping. The saving grace of the room was the comfy bed. It became apparent that there is an old and new part of this hotel and we were in the old. We paid £125 a night. I've stayed in nicer travel lodges. The breakfast however was really quite nice. It may technically get 4 stars but it is not 4 stars in spirit, cleanliness or style. Only stay if you really have to.

Negative experience: After forking out a significant amount for this two-night stay, I couldn't help but feel that my investment was far from justified. The issues that arose during my visit left me deeply unsatisfied and questioning the value of my expenditure. The first night was marred by the room lock malfunctioning, which not only posed a security concern but also led to considerable inconvenience. Despite my immediate report of the problem, the promised resolution for the next day failed to materialize, leaving me with a sense of neglect and frustration. What's more, my dismay continued into the second day as the room remained untouched by housekeeping. A clean and tidy environment is a fundamental expectation in any hotel, and the neglect in this regard was not only disappointing but also unhygienic. It's disheartening to say that after this experience, I can't help but feel that the hotel did not meet even the most basic standards of service and accommodation. Given the substantial financial commitment I made for this stay, I expected much more in terms of both functionality and cleanliness. It's clear that improvements are needed in various aspects of the hotel's operations to ensure that future guests don't endure the same letdown that I did. Very disappointed and disgusted. No way is it a 4 star hotel I personally would consider it not even worth one star. Most of the staff apart from one individual were very unhelpful and disdainful. Room was not cleaned after our first night. Sensor on the door was not working resulting in multiple visits to reception.

Negative experience: 2 starts for the restaurant - 5 stars for the hotel (I'd suggest creating a seperate google page for the restaurant if you don't want it to bring down the rating of the hotel) 1- Ordered medium-well lamb leg, waited 35 minutes for it to arrive medium-rare. I had to send it back & they did cook it medium this time which I couldn't send back as I was hungry I had a similar experience with the ribeye last year, ordered medium well and that time it was rare... 2- I wasn't allowed to drink the 500ml coca cola zero I brought myself because of restaurant policy. I can understand not allowing food from outside or alcoholic beverages but not this .. especially not when you're selling 200ml for £3 Otherwise awesome hotel, very well maintained, very nice rooms & facilities. Even more awesome staff, everyone super professional and helpful. Good value for money too.

Negative experience: Visited the Langstone Quays for my graduation at UoP. Came with my family and had a wonderful time, booked spa treatments with my mother and was extremely satisfied with our masseuse Emilia who was extremely pleasant, a wonderful girl who was very very good at her Job. Unfortunately the manager of the Spa, a man whose name i cannot remember who was bald and unnerving put a spanner in our experience at the Langstone Quays. Spent most of the time in the pool with my brother who the spa manager was obsessed with, would constantly watch us when we were in the pool and monitor what we were doing. As we were swimming could feel his eyes on us and when my brother went out of his eye-line he would actively go and look for him. I was once in the pool with my mother and father while my brother was sitting on a chair at the poolside. The manager actively went looking for him when he noticed he couldn't see him from the desk and went inside the Sauna, disturbing the people in there because he assumed my brother was in there. Me and my parents burst out laughing as we purposely told my brother to go and sit down because we could all feel that he was obsessed with him. My brother was 14 at the time and all i can say is how unfortunate that you must behave like that and ruin the experience for your guests. Please don't behave like this it is strange and embarrassing.

Negative experience: Firstly I would like to say that it is a nice hotel but I don’t think it should be advertised as 4 stars as it’s a little bit misleading to the customers. I would say strong 2-3 stars. Cleanness it’s the most important thing when I book hotel, by saying it’s a 4 star hotel I feel like I shouldn’t be worry about lack of sanitary and hygienic standards. Hotel room was big and bed was very comfortable apart from black long hair on the pillow which to me it’s a basic thing to do and check to make sure there is nothing left in the bed especially on a snowy white sheets. Carpet in the room was very old and full of stains especially next to the safe area. It made me really uncomfortable so I had to walk around the room with flip flops which to me is unacceptable for 4 stars hotel. I’m not the person to write a reviews and this is literally my first one ever! But I feel like I had to express some things that should be basics! Bathroom was horrible! Very old and stained bathroom curtain. I physically couldn’t walk in to the bathroom barefoot which made me feel like I’m on the camp sharing bathroom with a lot of people rather than 4 start hotel. Bathroom tub was very stained and drain blocked after 1 second of taking shower. This is really unacceptable. I had to take opportunity to wash my hair in the swimming pool showers everyday to avoid standing in blocked bath tub in dirty water. Those are basics that has to be check for next customers to make sure it’s in a good condition to use! Spider webs were literally everywhere! I’m not sure what kind of cleaning guidelines are there apart from changing sheet but they have to be definitely reviewed. I don’t think as well that it’s necessary to charge extra for harbour view when the first thing I saw was loading area located right underneath my windows. There was a strong weed smell coming out from outside as well I didn’t smell it on the corridor so I don’t think that any of the guests were smoking it in the room.I’m not sure if staff was smoking something in those loading/ staff area but it wasn’t pleasant to come to the room after whole day to that. I addressed it with reception but I’m not sure if it was investigated or not. Bar and restaurant area was really nice, tasty breakfast and dinner menu. Staff was very nice helpful. One night my key card didn’t work and when I went to reception to activate it again there was a system crash as well. The staff members were very on board to sort out the issue. I read review from months ago that jacuzzi wasn’t working I didn’t expect that few months after that this will still be an issue. It was a little bit disappointing. Overall hotel was in a really good location it’s such a shame that standards don’t reflect on the price and the potential that this place has.

Positive experience: We stayed at the Langstone Quays for one night over the weekend and had a great visit. We arrived at around 3pm and it did take a while to check in as it was so busy so I'd recommend avoiding this time for arrival if you're able. The bar and restaurant areas are done up beautifully. The bar has an extensive drinks list including many whiskeys and gins. The rooms themselves felt a little dated and could have done with a refresh but this didn't affect our stay and it was fine for what we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the mornings is very good with buffet continental, cereals and cooked breakfasts so a great range of choices. I would stay at this hotel again, overall we had a lovely visit.

Fantastic experience: Great place, serene with some lovely views. Ample free and safe parking. Nice and very helpful staff. Spacious and clean rooms, comfortable bed/pillows (extra pillows available) Ironing board in every room, and the best bit: tea and coffee available in rooms with CLEAN cups! Perfect English breakfast in the morning. Loved it.

Positive experience: Nice views, staff friendly, although at breakfast stand about and don't clear tables. Rooms good pretty clean, but doors bang when closing, especially middle of the night. But would stay again.

Fantastic experience: My Friend and I had beauty treatments at Infinite Beauty located in the Club. The Club staff were so friendly and the Beauticians were kind, friendly and very professional. It was a wonderful experience. We followed this with a Cream Tea in the Waterside restaurant. The food was delicious and the service very friendly. We had a coffee and sat in the grounds as it was a lovely day and we continued with a wine at sunset. The Hotel is set in beautiful surroundings. It is located off the road, so it is really quite peaceful. The sunsets in this area are quite amazing. We were at the hotel from 2pm until 11pm. The staff are so friendly and helpful and it was a fantastic experience which we will repeat again for sure. Thank you for a great day.

Positive experience: Their intentions are good and the staff are nice but like so many British hotels they just can't get their act together. Location is very nice. We had over 3 hours to wait for check in because reception did not tell housekeeping we had arrived. We were intentions to swimming pool by reception to pass time. Got to pool. No towels. So, back to reception to get them. Poor training. Phone did not work in room. Before arrival told on phone by front desk there were no USB ports in rooms. Brought adapters but there were 8 of them installed. Problems closing doors due to new floors. Jacuzzi broken in pool area for some weeks according to staff. Some toilets in Reception area also broken. Complementary wine and muffin part of package not delivered. In the end had to go and get it. No marmalade on second day breakfast. Food is OK and portions are huge. Beverages are a fair price except soft drinks. Service is friendly but amateurish. Rooms are a good size but windows on ground floor do not fully open for security reasons so they get very hot. No air con but a dyson air cooling device of uncertain efficiency. Lounge area for guests is nice but is used for staff meetings! No sign of management in guest areas. I think the message to the hotel is keep trying. You are getting there but need some professional managers to sort it out.

Negative experience: This is a review about the restaurant. The food was good. However, this is the first time I've heard this: they did not have a corkscrew!! A waiter said that he asked everyone of his colleagues, including the bar & nobody had one. He asked me if I wanted to order a different bottle of wine... Funny enough, the bill came in the end with 2 bottles of wine in it! I'm glad I looked! The waitress adjusted the bill upon my request, but the tip did not get adjusted. When I mentioned that, she said that the system would "add 10% automatically". I did not want to lecture her in mathematics and to explain that 14 cannot be 10% of 100, so I just paid. Funny experience with the service. Will NOT go again.

Positive experience: I used to work for a big hotel chain that had 4 star properties and comparing the two, I can’t say that Langstone Quays is what I’d consider 4 star. I stayed here with a friend for two nights and unlucky for us, it was the same period a big wedding was going on. We were not informed upon arrival by reception that there was a wedding going on nor did they seem concerned whether any noise would be an issue for us as they placed us on the ground floor next to some of the wedding party guests. We were placed in a double room, first one from the reception. All we wanted was some peace and quiet from our stay but for the both nights all we could hear was noise. The wedding party was loud! Due to the bad weather last Saturday (we don’t drive) we stayed in our room all day because we didn’t feel comfortable being in the lounge area with the wedding guests everywhere. In our room we could hear the whole event going on until the time we went to bed at 11pm. The walls are thin which didn’t help. I woke up out of my sleep to go toilet and could still hear the wedding party still chatting loudly in the hallway outside of our door at 3am. A 4* hotel would’ve had some rules against this for the consideration of other hotel guests. We knew FOH wouldn’t change our rooms because were were told on arrival the hotel was fully booked for our whole stay. Breakfast was lovely, we went early at 7.30am and thoroughly enjoyed it. All staff at the restaurant were friendly and ensured food was regularly replenished and tables were cleared. We didn’t order room service for lunch because the menu was limited and there’s a £5 tray charge, for dinner we ordered a takeaway which came quickly and was good value (separate review). We never got the chance to book treatments (fully booked) or use the spa so can’t comment here but it looked really nice from photos. This was just out of anxiety that we’d have to deal with the wedding guests being in the spa or main lounge/lobby area. Where our room was based we would’ve had to cross the wedding party to get to the spa. They hogged the whole bar area, we couldn’t even order any drinks at the bar as the staff were too busy attending to the wedding party guests. Free Wifi and Smart TVs in the room was fab! We could sign into BBC iplayer, Netflix, Prime etc although we had technical difficulties on the Saturday (iplayer streaming wasn’t connecting) and asked reception to call maintenance for help. They sent someone over and the guy couldn’t work it out. He td me he thought he was coming to fix the channels despite mentioning to reception twice (in person and on the phone) that it wasn’t an issue with the tv channels but the streaming apps connection to the wifi. Was then told he didn’t know how to help but will check and come back - he never came back… we ended up working it out by ourselves in the end. The room was very spacious and clean, as we stayed 2 nights housekeeping wouldn’t visit unless requested. The bathroom was very cold and the towel rail was never on so no heated towels. The radiator knob was also broken so we couldn’t turn the heating on when it got cold. Luckily, the duvet was super warm and bed was comfy. No Nespresso machine or decent coffee machine, just a dodgy mini kettle but a good amount of coffee/tea sachets. Costa coffee is available at the petrol station down the road if you can’t get service at the bar and want something a little nicer than instant coffee. I’m sure this hotel would be lovely to stay at when there’s not a wedding going on and if you have a car to move around but unfortunately I don’t and I will not be returning to find out.

Fantastic experience: We picked a very nice place to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Great food, excellent service and despite the hotel being almost full, very quiet and relaxed. Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay, so will be looking to return soon.

Fantastic experience: Really nice relaxing break. Room had obviously been re furbished recently, with my only niggle being there was no air con but there was a Dyson fan with a cooling setting. Good base to explore the area. Evening meals were tasty and service was very good. Loved the gym, and a decent pool too. Nice view from the front of the hotel just outside the restaurant.

Positive experience: The Langstone Quays is in a great location, especially on a sunny day. The bar and leisure club staff were very friendly but I really don't think this is a 4* hotel. * I think it's undergoing some refurbishment - it needs it as the hotel is tired and scruffy, both in the corridors and leisure club * Our room was big but they need to remove the storage containers in the garden outside some rooms and piled-up old mattresses - it's quite an eyesore. I also expected better toiletries e.g. body cream and better quality products * When we visited, breakfast was chaotic and the quality is not 4* e.g. tinned fruit and room temperature fruit juice from concentrate * We had no housekeeping so had to ask to have items replenished. When we reported this on check-out, the reception staff couldn't have been less interested. They didn't even ask how our stay was such is the poor customer service they provide. Check-in was also super slow. Only one person knew what they were doing, the rest seemed clueless It was a shame we had such a poor experience as we enjoyed our time in the area and would have likely gone back had our stay been as we expected but as it was, I can't see us returning.

Negative experience: I booked for afternoon tea with my bestie for her birthday. We stood in restaurant and l had to go and find a member of staff who was actually on his way home.He said he didnt know what we were there for as the restaurant dont get told.Once seated a young girl served us who was obviously not sure what to do.She served me a cup of tea and my friend a cup of coffee.Another lady then appeared who knew what she was doing and we were served the afternoon tea and our bubbles.She then brought me a pot of tea and agreed l should have had one in the begining. Whilst the food was nice we missed the use of a tablecloth and China and traditional cake stands.

Fantastic experience: An extraordinary vacation. Very welcoming and helpful staff, very good food, huge parking lot. The rooms are very clean, warm and well lit. Very clean sauna, steam room pool and jacuzzi. The location is quiet and breath taking. Traveling via country side roads instead of the dual carriage is a bit longer but it worth it all the way. The scenery is marvelous. Lanstone Quays Hotel is a location that I would recommend to everyone to visit. The nearby pubs are very clean and provide very good food. Thank you guys for all your efforts to make our stay a dream stay.

Positive experience: We went on a short weekend break and picked up the hotel because we have family nearby. The location itself is nothing special. There isn't a beach nearby, and the views are hit and miss. There are views of boats nearby, but with the seaside levels moving during the day, is not always that pretty. The hotel itself is a bit outdated, and the rooms need refreshing. Our room had a broken sink, a very questionable bath curtain, and one of the small bedside lights was missing. Other than that, we had clean towels and spare pillows in the room. The room was quite specious and had a sitting area as well as a table and two chairs. The service was good, we were welcomed and offered a free drink each for our occasion to celebrate. We had breakfast included with our stay and that was also nice. The food was lovely and plenty for all the guests. There is no big variety, and the best/fullest option was English breakfast, but that suits us fine. Unfortunately, we didn't try the swimming pool, so I can't comment on this. There is a free parking area available for the guests of the hotel with plenty of parking, afront of the hotel as well as on the back.

Fantastic experience: An excellent afternoon tea party for a friend's 70 th birthday celebration. My self and another of our party given a special stand of gluten free selection of sandwiches and cakes. Our birthday girl had a lovely surprise and really enjoyed the experience and service. Negative experience: UPDATE: The resort has contacted me and are arranging to address my issues. Good that they respond well to feedback. We stayed at LQ for a wedding and included extra nights as we thought the resort looked appealing. The carpets on the stairs were frayed and dirty. We were disappointed to say the least, our room was tired and outdated, many things were not up to the standard expected for the price we paid. I wont list then all but the discolored shower curtain that stuck to you whilst showering and the fact that the hairdryer was hardwired so you couldn't dry your hair without sitting on the floor by the drawer it was attached to are some highlights, in addition the towel we were provided with to use the pool was newer, fluffier and bigger than those supplied in our room. The staff were uninterested and seemed to lack training and support. They didn't seem to understand customer service or offer any form of apology for when things went wrong. The breakfast had a large selection but most of it was inedible, they seem to supply the cheapest ingredients, the bread was particularly unpleasant and then overcook it. Whilst checking out I talked to the manager about our dissatisfaction and she did offer a reduction for our stay and explain that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment.

Positive experience: When we arrived at the reception very standard welcoming we received. However at the club we were given a excellent customer service. The most disappointed and I almost lost my patience. We were booked at 8 for dinner Spot on we were there on time and waiting at the restaurant door to be called. But unfortunately 15 minutes waited.finally some one came. Not even a an apology for kept us waiting. Then ordered the drinks and food it took more than an hour to deliver again no apology or a simply sorry. Finally we were went off just after 2 hours and 20 minites. They ruined our whole evening plans. Food was excellent breakfast was amazing. Guys watch out the dinner service.

Negative experience: No hot water. WHen we complained they said it was being fixed but they never did and they never replied to us. Had to leave for a family party without showering. We complained when we left they said contact Expedia. Expedia have tried to contact them and they always say the manager is not available and the manager will respond in 72 hours. 3 times now. And 6 weeks later we have still heard nothing back. It was twice the price of the Premier Inn and not worth it if you can't wash. But most of all their customer service has been atrocious!

Negative experience: Sadly I found reception team unfriendly and not giving any indication that I was a valued customer. There was a mix up with our room and was offered another ( after I asked for a full refund saying I would not be staying).New room was smaller and had a bath which was what I wanted but was shabby and in poor decor.We were offered a 30 pounds deduction from our bill which was an insult ,this then became 60 when we shared our horror.Still poor taking into consideration we had also been downgraded .

Positive experience: A bit out of the way if you don't have a car. Rooms all clean and tidy, but some paintwork around the hotel could do with a touch-up due to scuffing and flaking. Reasonable, set 3 course evening meal menu for our coach party for our 4 night stay, but the same vegetables (green beans, carrot and swede) each night became disappointing, maybe broccoli, cauliflower or cabbage would have been a welcome change. Most of the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, some very young and still learning the ropes, but nevertheless doing the best they could. A pleasant stay nonetheless.

Positive experience: Nice hotel on the north side of halyling island near the bridge to the mainland. Friendly and helpful staff and nice facilities and good swimming pool. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment (May 2023) in stages so expect to see construction and engineering work going on. Maybe check when you make the booking to ensure you have one of the newer rooms.
