Services, Machines and Guided Classes
Equinox Bishopsgate: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Uno de los rascacielos más impresionantes de la City londinense
Negative experience: Overpriced with poor service. Not only they run curtailed hours to 4pm on weekends - steam room and showers close 30 and 15 minutes before that with staff bossing you out.
Negative experience: Hiked membership prices again despite being much more crowded than before. Often have to wait around for machines, benches, squat racks if you come after work. No pool and very early closing times on weekends (4pm). Even on weekdays, it closes at least an hour before other gyms (8/9pm). Attention to detail not there for London branches. They have cheaper versions of the shampoos, body wash etc that Grown Alchemist have formulated just for Equinox.
Fantastic experience: Good gym and great space
Negative experience: Staff are very friendly and the yoga teachers are great. I like that the classes are usually an hour long (the 45 min classes at Third Space are definitely too short). However, few issues: 1. maintenance is a bit shoddy (usually at least one lift is out of order and lights will be out for weeks in the steam room). 2. For the premium price tag, you would also expect the gym to be open at normal hours. On weekdays, it closes an hour/more earlier than its peers (at 9pm) and it only open until 4pm on weekends. Would recommend that they open at the same hours as gyms nearby! 3. There is no pool, no group reformer pilates and very few martial art classes. Third Space has both and is at a similar price point. Third Space also has far more branches so a group membership is actually quite beneficial (I have one near my apartment and a couple near my office in the City).
Fantastic experience: Equinox Bishopsgate offers a truly exceptional fitness experience, with three expansive workout floors filled with state-of-the-art equipment and an extensive variety of classes led by top-tier instructors. The staff are professional, warm and welcoming, contributing to a community atmosphere that makes every visit enjoyable. The facility is impeccably maintained, always spotless, and the attention to detail is evident. Don’t miss the Heliix cafe, where you can enjoy creatively delicious and healthy meals. The personal trainers here are some of the best in the industry, offering expert guidance tailored to your needs. I am so grateful to have been a part of this community for the past three years.
Fantastic experience: Coming from the NYC branches I felt a warm welcome from the Bishopsgate team on both occasions. Will at the front desk is lovely and helpful. The facilities are kept immaculately and equipment is great. The cafeteria staff are also helpful and the choices are good - only thing I’d love is to see a “cleaner” protein powder like Spinached or Garden of Life. Thanks
Fantastic experience: This is the best gym in London!
Negative experience: Would not recommend.
Positive experience: fantastic personal trainers, but everything else was meh
Positive experience: Beautiful gym next to my office that really felt like home for me. But there is no way they can charge the fee they do. I was paying £210 a month on corporate rare when there is no pool, the steam room can be broken for months at a time with no discount, and no classes on Sunday. I loved the yoga and barre classes and was at the cafe every day, but they really need to lower their fee.
Positive experience: Good space with nice staff but no pool and v restricted opening hours despite premium membership price
Positive experience: pros: - friendly staff - well maintained equipment - very well cleaned - spacious and well designed with 4 floors - rarely ever overcrowded - towels, shaving cream, razors etc all provided - sauna cons: - the open hours. this is a commercial gym in the middle of bishopsgate so the target audience is clearly busy office workers. so why on earth does it close at 8 on fridays, 4 on saturdays and isnt even open sundays??? it makes no sense
Negative experience: Good gym overall. Steam room hasn’t been working for a month. The team is very slow at fixing issues. There’s a quite weak communication from the team about it — you’ll have to investigate all yourself while they’ll charge full price and fail to offer anything to compensate Update: The steam room was finally fixed and it working well now.
Fantastic experience: A fantastic gym with immaculate equipment, great amenities and wonderful staff, particularly my account manager Will, introductory personal trainer Bart and the receptionist. The smoothies at the cafe are amazing! The eucalyptus towels and padlockless lockers are all lovely touches that go the extra mile. Updated review on the basis that management listened to feedback and was prompt to action it, just goes to show this gym is ran by a team of people that care!
Negative experience: You’d think paying over £200 a month for a gym would allow you a great service and amenities… but nope. I’ve been a member there for not even a month and I cannot stress how disappointing the experience has been. Starting from the sales advisors being unreliable and changing their offers every week, telling you a fee then another, to have minimum or even zero customer service when you’d email for enquiring about payments/billings or any questions you’d have then. The classes and the trainers are great, although the morning ones all start before 8, it would be nice to have some at 8/8.30 too. The steam-room as been out of service for now three weeks, now I’m not sure how long it takes to fix but it shouldn’t be taking that long… The latest thing was getting refused a shower after a workout because apparently, the showers close 15mn before closing time for cleaning ? Let’s highlight I was dripping in sweat, and I’ve never been told this when registered, or by the front desk, nor been announced in the gym. I’ve never been to a gym who schedules their cleaning during opening hours, it’s just ridiculous. On top of that, it closes early on Saturdays (4PM) and still remains closed on Sundays…
Positive experience: solid gym and helpful staff. they have limited opening hours and only one location. The steam room is hit or miss. Edit: added a star as they are now open Sunday
Fantastic experience: I joined 8 months ago and I've been loving the experience! The gym is very smart, and clean, and their classes are amazing - lots of options and brilliant instructors! I have to give a particular shout out to Francesco Calosci (Frank) who is welcoming and incredibly helpful - making my experience all the more enjoyable. Highly recommend joining
Fantastic experience: Equinox is a great gym. The equipment, staff and facilities are amazing. Super clean and almost feels like a spa. I love coming here.
Negative experience: I subscribed to Equinox Bishopsgate and attended the gym for a couple of days. I realised that it is overpriced, it doesn't offer enough classes and services and the opening hours are not convinient for my schedule. I cancelled my membership and it has been a month that i am waiting for the refund. I have to chase Equinox sales team to get my money back and it has not happened yet. Very disappointing experience and very low quality of service for the gym that positions itself as "exclusive". No regreats for having left this place.
Fantastic experience: Went on a day pass, it's a fantastic gym, split over a few floors has everything you need for a good workout and enough cardio and weight machines so you're not waiting to train a particular body part. The cafe is really nice place to relax and grab a post workout snack. Front of house staff are v friendly and accomodating! The changing rooms are lush, clean and tidy, the cleaning staff do a great job. Dumbbells go up to 54kg which is rare but also a good sign that it's a serious gym too. Highly recommend, price tag comes with a lot of benefits but also gives access to Kensington gym too.
Fantastic experience: Joined equinox temporarily to try some of the equipment/ get a feel for the club. unfortunately i’m used to quite bodybuilding style training/ equipment and so this club wasn’t quite for me as it didn’t cater to my full needs - but have to say was probably one of the best gyms i’ve seen. excellent quality both equipment/ standards and atmosphere. particular shout out would be to Frank who initially signed me up - been around gyms a good 15 years and he was probably the best membership consultant i’ve come across.
Fantastic experience: Not too busy and high quality gym. They need to open Sunday otherwise not great value for money.
Fantastic experience: I have been to most equinox gyms in Manhattan and this is one of the best. Great choice of equipment, plenty of space to stretch and very welcoming staff. Great to see continuous cleaning in progress and the changing rooms (mens) were very well kept and plenty of space. Equinox is kensington has a lot of work to do if its going to even try and compete with bishopsgate.
Positive experience: Foarte curat.
Negative experience: Poor customer service, money-grabbing business practices. Consistently told account credit didn't exist and overcharged. Refused to resolve or issue refund and then once I cancelled the membership, I was told the credits did exist and they wouldn't refund them.
Fantastic experience: Literally my favorite Equinox and I don’t even live in the UK.
Positive experience: Good gym but lots of unused space on the weight floor. Could easily have a chest supported row machine (among other things, that’s just a glaringly obvious omission) but they do not. Weekend hours are a drag. Superb staff.
Negative experience: Nice gym but avoid booking a massage at the spa. I showed up today for my massage only to find out the therapist had cancelled but forgot to contact me. This is the second time this has happened :(
Fantastic experience: Equinox is the perfect gym if you travel between major cities somewhat frequently. I only wish I had known about the pass that allows you to use any of their destinations (except the E by's). Facilities are always clean, one dude(staff) in particular has always been very friendly any time I see him. The only things I would like to see here are resistance bands (seen them around, but never able to find them - could be brought in by a trainer for PT use?) and a mobility stick. Would also like to see a pool in one of the London gyms.
Positive experience: Shiny and new, but there are better and more well-equipped gyms for cheaper in the same area.
Positive experience: Your working hours are very short compared to the Kensington branch!!!♂️
Positive experience: Minunata
Fantastic experience: Amazing
Fantastic experience: New facility with everything you need for a good workout. All the equipment is new and modern, place is clean.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and clean facilities. I recently became a member and love working out here... it’s become my 2nd home!
Fantastic experience: Brand new amazing gym with cafe and work areas
Fantastic experience: Amazing gym!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic Gym, Fantastic Staff. Always welcoming and incredible equipment I haven't ever seen before. Thank you Equinox team!
Fantastic experience: As a gym, it is somewhat spectacular. You get welcomed at personal level. Everyone is friendly. Food quality can be more tasty but it’s all healthy. Great vibe at the hangout area. Well done management. It’s a great start :)
Negative experience: Poor customer service for the price you pay. Four emails to the sales advisors and management on cancelling a membership no response.
Negative experience: £190 pcm and such limited weekend hours? It's not even open Sundays! Was looking forward to this but £190 and only open a few hours over the whole weekend is taking the p
