The Merchant Hotel Gym offers state of the art facilities, unrivaled service and panoramic views across Belfast, right in the heart of the city centre.
For bookings between 26th November and 31st December, if there is no online availability on the date/time of your requested booking it does not mean we have no free tables. For live booking advice, please call 028 9026 2710 Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, or 028 9023 4888 from 5pm – 11pm.
These facilities are complemented by a sleek Art Deco design, panoramic city views and a fabulous thermal area which includes a rock sauna, steam room and a rooftop hot tub overlooking the river Lagan, the iconic Albert Clock and beyond to the world renowned cranes of Harland and Wolff shipyard. Our changing rooms include complimentary toiletries and towels.
Please also note that the thermal area and roof-top hot tub open 30 minutes after the gym opening times listed and close 30 minutes prior to the gym closing times listed.
Our gym, hot tub and thermal area are over 18s only and the hot tub will be closed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 12.00pm and 3.00pm for cleaning and maintenance.

The Merchant Hotel’s gym offers two types of annual membership: Individual Membership and Wellness Membership. Corporate Membership options are available on request.

Negative experience: Odd day pass policy - must call 24 hrs in advance. Took a couple staff members and holding times to get to this response. Not the best introduction if considering membership.
Fantastic experience: Jamal was so helpful and friendly and the view from the roof top jacuzzi & sauna is worth a visit!
Fantastic experience: Small but superb little gym for a hotel - has quality barbells and plates along with nice kettlebells and dumbbells.
Positive experience: Great spot, friendly staff, place is always spotless. Down side is the gym floor footprint is quite small, great for someone getting back into the gym or someone who is cardio focused.
Fantastic experience: I have been a member of this gym since 2018 and I couldn't recommend it enough, its appearance is stunning and location is very convenient. It's handy having the shampoo and towels and the staff are friendly and professional!

Positive experience: Location is good, but gym itself is basic and small. Not a great range of free weights. Sauna and hot tub were the highlight
Negative experience: I have been a member for the past year of the gym and I am very dissapointed. I can’t complain to much about the gym itself bar being very small and limited equipment. There is ALWAYS something wrong. If it isn’t there being no towels in the changing rooms it’s no shampoo or shower gell (also why isn’t there conditioner in the men’s?) and if it isn’t that it’s the steam room being broke. And if it isn’t the steam room it’s the poorly heated excuse of a sauna. Most of the time the jacuzzi is just warm not hot enough to want to stay in it unless you are in it just for the quick picture with champagne which most people are. £50 a month would be amazing if the place was run well and maintained. Such a shame
Negative experience: Equipment pretty run down for 50 quid a month. But if you looking in to other facilities like sauna, clean shower then it's ok.
