Oxford Spires Fitness Centre: Opinions
Negative experience: Terrible gym. Limited equipment, broken machines, rarely open.
Positive experience: Could have been 5 stars if it was bigger and had more equipment
Fantastic experience: Very good gym
Positive experience: New update: this centre is for school students only now, this is what I've heard, so phone them and double check. Old review: Conclusion: Good for cardio and average body fitness/build but not for professionals. 30 per month for 16+ and £12 for <16. This is for only this gym payment which you need to apply in person; however, in case you need access to Fusion services elsewhere then it costs more and you apply online. Tip: You can get 2 months free at Christmas for 1 year reg. Also, invite a friend and get 1 month free after 3 months if that friend has kept h- membership. update: we did not get an invitation bonus Pros Staff are polite and friendy Good air accommodation Spacey free car park. However, "Caution:" this gym is located within a school property, hence no available parking space at school time. Also, it closes between 2 to 4 pm at working days not to mention it closes every day around 10:00pm and 8pm during the weekends. Lock your bike on sight as it happened and my headlight got stolen. Get yourself a good medium lock to save your belongings. There is a bathroom and a dressing room. Drinking water fountain and container filler No swimming pool Equipments Available: Assisted weight pull-ups machine with 3 handles 1 Squat Rack (Smith Machine) + 1 Olympic bar 1 Bench Press + 1 Olympic Bar 1 Set of Dumbbells ranging from 6kg to 30kgs pairs Kettlebells Foam roller 1 or 2 stability balls 2 Incline bench press 1 curl Barbel 2 Cardio water rowing machines 1 sided cables and pulleys with one cable biceps/triceps bar + hanging leg raise + 1 barbell with weights for back 2 Hammer strength machine, two different types for pushups and one for pull-ups (chest press) 1 Leg extension machine 1 Leg curl machine 3 Exercise mats 6 Stationary bicycles 2 cross trainers Several treadmill machines (will amend later) 1 vibration plate Equipments needed: - Incline Bench Press to replace the static one - Adjustable cable crossover 'Double sided cables and pulley' (very important) - Lat pulldown - Preacher bench (important) - Abdominal bench (very important) - Leg press machine - Leg adduction/abduction machine - Hack squat machine - Peck Deck machine
Fantastic experience: Free for over 50s 9-11 on Saturday's and Sunday's
Negative experience: I mainly come here for pre season cricket nets with my team. But ever since the floor was changed in the sports hall the experience of training is really bad because the ball doesn't even bounce as high as it used to. This is why I have given 2 stars.
Positive experience: Love the climbing wall
Positive experience: It's very good but it's lacing space
Positive experience: Lovely space but needs to swap some of the many idle treadmills with any other strength equipment that would encourge more people to exercise better or come more often.
