Fantastic experience: Lovely Senior swim session today

Positive experience: My last review of the kempston pool was of the poor state it was in and was glad it was read and I'm pleased to say,I received a reply from the new management. I'm happy now that all the pool and areas have been improved a lot and I can now say it should be continued so we can all enjoy the centre, just one more small area needs attention and that's the sauna, a bit of repair floor area. thanks for listening to the members concerns.

Negative experience: Unapproachable and rude staff, honestly go somewhere else. They have no proper changing facilities. The water’s cold and the whole place is a mess. They have no locked showers either and when you ask a question to staff they just give you dead answers! AVOID and safe your money

Negative experience: I joined the Gym seven days ago, and i am yet to use the swimming pool, 80% of the pool activity is for children. So i decided to try Saturday as the evening between 1600 and 2000 is for classes and children. but the swimming pool was closed. certainly not worth the money, first month and the last.

Fantastic experience: The best pool in Bedford

Positive experience: Great Aqua classes. Good instructors. It has recently been handed over to a new management company. They are trying to improve it and bring it upto a better standard. But it is still a tired venue. Car parking. Changing rooms

Positive experience: It was my first time at the swimming pool and it was quite enjoyable as I had my 6 year old with me and she loves going to this pool, I would have gave it 5 stars but I found it cold but would definitely recommend visiting this

Negative experience: Don’t waste your money coming here. Staff at reception didn’t seem to know what was offered and didn’t give details about sauna etc as a new guest. The whole area smelt of urine, the changing rooms didn’t lock properly and were badly kept with hair, dirt on the floor. No showers to access the pool. You have to pay to use the hairdryer whereas with others this isn’t charged for. The pool itself was dirty with hair and tags and plasters floating around, not a great size either. The sauna equally small and dirty in its surrounding areas. Yes it’s cheaper than other leisure centres but it was not worth paying for. Needs a big revamp.

Positive experience: Gym is quiet which is nice. Sauna is decent, showers are fine for me

Positive experience: This Council run facility is a little dated but always clean. Staff are friendly & helpful the sauna always hot, gym is small therefore not mad busy for those who like quieter place to work out & good parking.

Negative experience: No shower for 5 months, they tell you to use the pool side!, changing room constantly problems. Toilets are less than the members they took. Stays unclean. We were happy new management took over named "Better". Unfortunately nit better than fusion

Positive experience: No private shower facilities, you have to pay to use the hairdryer. The employees, however are polite and respectful.

Negative experience: After making a complaint about a member who was clearly in the wrong swim lane, splashing everyone in the face as she swam by and being told by the manager that there’s no such thing as a slow, medium and fast lane - though they are labelled fast, medium and slow - and being told to “listen” by said manager in charge after I disputed this (who is probably the one to receive this message) I obviously could not have a conversation as he had no care for my experience (probably because I am not a member), so the only option is to write. Not only about keeping control of your members to make sure very one that visits has the experience they deserve but mainly by the way the manager dealt with a paying customer who has the right to enjoy their experience as much as any member, who has every reason to enjoy the medium lane. One lady whom knew this member said she stops to face the side so she doesn’t get splashed in the face by her. I cut my swim short because of this experience after I asked her and the lifeguard to politely move lanes, but she had no care and continued. Which is a shame because I would have returned the next day, and who knows might have even become a member, if it wasn’t for this rudeness from member AND MANAGER. A refund is very well deserved. If you have no care in each person IN GENERAL then you shouldn’t be in customer service especially in a managerial role, as your experience or lack of experience is not justified to be the same as anyone else’s. “It’s not leisurely” Mr. Manager is a perfect example of your management because if you took the time to understand the service and costumers that attend you’d see that in the slow lane they were in fact there for leisure. The slim lane is not meant for overtaking or small waves, clearly, and I don’t need to explain that… except I do don’t I!

Negative experience: Just been for the 12.15 family swim, too overcrowded for us. Could hardly move around the pool

Fantastic experience: Plenty of parking, booked online so no waiting, reception staff were really nice, able to buy some armbands, very clean changing rooms, family session good fun with floats, coffee and snacks from vending machine with card payment in seating area.

Positive experience: A great little pool, with disabled access to the pool. A little grubby round the edges but good for families. No cafe

Fantastic experience: Easy to find. Plenty of parking. Picked up a friend who enjoys the family facilities there.

Fantastic experience: The staff make you feel like you're at your 2nd home. They always have a good chat with you and banter. Nice seating area and gym, sauna etc . And pool is clean and relaxing. Going there is like being at a spa. A treat ✨️

Fantastic experience: We are extremely pleased with kempston pools swimming lessons there were a few problems when we first ever started around a year and half ago, but the staff are brilliant and sorted them straight away! Thank you ALL. Our little boys swimming is fantastic and that’s all down to the staff at kempston (Anna, Morgan and Laura) So thank you. He’s currently still swimming here and he does not stop talking about how good his lessons are with Laura and how he LOVES how she teaches him so thank you soo much Laura :)

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been having swimming lessons here for a few years and she thoroughly enjoys it. Laura is a great swimming teacher. Would definitely recommend this pool

Fantastic experience: The aqua arobics classes are great but be warned they do book up quickly

Fantastic experience: Adding some more brilliant reviews, Today my daughter moved another swimming stage, within 3 months from 2 to 3, special thank you to Andy, he is a brilliant teacher excellent place for family swim, and other facilities; brilliant staff, especially swimming teachers, transferred my daughter from the other site and withing a week she jumped up swimming stage :)

Negative experience: Staff on the desk so rude, no customer service or greeting you as a customer on arrival and just grunt at you. Pool itself is lovely so no complaints there just the staff's attitudes who need to go on customer service training. They are all well known for this!!!!!!!

Negative experience: Inflatable in pool so cut the pool off for swimming. Lifeguards told the rules but didnt seem to bothered about them. Showers not good, changing room smelt. Thr only good thing was the nice receptionist.

Negative experience: Freezing cold pool and some of the staff are rude. They do not provide you with swimming packs once joining and this is part of the joining fee, my child who attends the swim school weekly said she was so cold in the pool today , she unfortunately burst into tears and asked me to take her out. She advised that because it’s one tutor per six kids in the pool she is left standing waiting until it’s her time, (that would be absolutely fine if the pool was not stone cold) i of course was watching her and her out of the pool, I will be cancelling her session asap and will look for a warmer pool, I did ask management to maybe up the temp so the pool could be warmer but was advised it stays as it is unfortunately,

Negative experience: Staff are rude and told me off for something I didn’t do. Reception couldn’t be bothered to help so I threw the membership card away immediately

Positive experience: It's a small pool but the pool temperature varies from very cold to medium . The gym equipment isn't always fully working which is a shame as my husband would go to it.

Positive experience: Good team,lovely pool but. You've got nice little gym and sauna. Can do fitness classes including aqua fitness classes in groups. The communal showers are a bit dodgy as the temperature is too hot where as women's shower room and changing room is too cold. Overall good venue.

Fantastic experience: I’ve used saunas for 30 years and this is one of the cleanest ones I’ve ever used. Consistently and reliably hot. Reasonably priced. Perfect for post exercise relaxation and a good stretch

Positive experience: The pool is clean. Not too busy when I have been. The only small issue is that showers after swimming are quite small and there are only two of them. Lots of different sized changing rooms and lockers which is good.

Positive experience: Bit expensive for the installations you have, no private showers, sometimes bad smelling, change clothes are insufficient, lockers without proper space, there are more gyms for less with better installations

Fantastic experience: I went to kempston swim pool yesterday with my partner, it is a very clean place, very tidy, the staff are friendly. Me and my partner aren’t that great at swimming and the staff allow you to borrow pool noodles which made us feel very comfortable. The pool is at a great temperature, the showers are also at a great temperature. It is a very relaxing place to go for a general swim. I don’t have a bad word to say about it, I do wish I could have spent more than an hour in the pool it was that enjoyable.

Positive experience: Very friendly staff, I go lane swimming and find it never gets to busy for me to have a good swim

Fantastic experience: Cordelia's aqua classes are fun. A friendly group of people at the class making newbies welcome. I find aqua classes ideal for me as I have rheumatoid arthritis. Good cardio vascular workout & keeps the joints flexible.

Fantastic experience: I went this week to ask about joining and to make use of my free pass. Staff were extremely friendly. The Pilates class was very good (shame the room is so small). The pool was clean and warm. Excellent value for money. I shall definitely join. The website needs a complete re-think and they know it. I understand work on this has already started. A very pleasant experience. Thank you.

Negative experience: Water is always cold, receptionists never really helpful. Bored lifeguards pay no attention to unruly kids (and some adults) diving into the pool despite signs banning diving. They want people to join on the membership but can't be bothered to explain terms and conditions fully, or provide you with written copy of them. I was not aware that I needed to provide them with a month's notice to cancel my membership, thought it was just a rolling contract, that I could cancel any time. Customer services even less helpful.

Positive experience: Clean pool but cool, leisure and gym ok

Negative experience: My 3.5 years old boy had his assessment done and the staff convinced us that he was ready for his swimming classes even though we weren't sure he was. First lesson we turned up and the lesson was cancelled without any notice or refund provided. Second lesson we turned up and our boy was a bit unsure as the teacher was different to the one that performed his assessment. The teacher (on second lesson) didn't even smile at him or acknowledge him by his name or anything. She just said to us, so is he joining us then for this lesson? We just got up and left BUT we were still charged for registration, extra lesson (that they cancelled without notice) and one month worth of direct debit. I have honestly never come across such bad customer service.

Negative experience: Too old place

Positive experience: The staff is always fairly attentive and friendly, however the place need slightly more attention to cleaning. when swimming with glasses often you cam see some accumulation of sand(?) in the corners. The Sauna is crying for some refurbishment as well. I have been using the place for good 3.years now and I don't believe that even 1 pound was invested in to the sauna since then. Apart from that fairly good value for money.

Positive experience: Booking sistem is a big problem and the rooms for gym sometimes are too small for all members

Negative experience: They need to close this place down and sack these useless kids. Just got here and they informed me teacher is sick. Said they were too busy to phone. Reception staff are third class and unhelpful and immediately blamed someone called Ian. Do not come here.
