Fantastic experience: Pool is currently being upgraded

Fantastic experience: Really nice steam, sauna, jacuzzi room. Clean, reasonably priced and staff always seem friendly. Would recommend.

Positive experience: It was very hot inside.

Negative experience: This is a review purely for the gym, I didn't use the swimming facilities. Super expensive, equipment is packed in tight, and there's no where enough space for weights / lifting.

Negative experience: Smells bad, staff are rude - especially one older lifeguard, often hear him swearing and he's rude if you speak to him. Used to be great but very low standard now.

Negative experience: Staff are extremely rude… when i complained a member of staff rang me and was dismissive… awful place..

Negative experience: Joined up and attempted the gym 2 times but it is so small when busy you can’t go on any machines. Spa is not in use so I ask if I can have my money back so I can join another gym. They said no.

Negative experience: So I thought I would check out the new refurbished health suite and I was quite disappointed. The new spa is terrible, it's literally just a few sparse jets around the side with a jet in the very center. It felt more like sitting in a fountain than a spa. Also the steam room wasn't working properly. I phoned a head to check everything was working just before I left and I wasn't told about it until after I had purchased a ticket which was sneaky. Whoever oversaw this refurbishment has definitely wasted £200,000, it's worse than it was before.

Positive experience: The staff are lovely, facilities ample. Just a shame Serco run it,

Negative experience: Lifeguards were incredibly rude to my children aged 10… pointing at them, screwing up their faces and being totally unprofessional. Won’t bring going back

Fantastic experience: Recently undertook some PT time at the gym, I highly recommend as friendly straight forward gym. Nate Freeman the PT has been excellent he has broken down complex terminology into simple actionable steps and helped me get back into the gym after many years and feel like I'm already achieving something in a short space of time. Superb for a first time experience or someone who just wants some guidance on achieving more. I plan on booking a bunch of sessions.

Positive experience: It's a bit pricey for what it is, could do with a deep clean and not all the lockers work. Also there isn't many family changing cubical.

Fantastic experience: This has been perfect for me to attend morning swimming, with family and work I only have 2 mornings a week (at 6am starts) to swim. my family also enjoyed toddler swim as the deep end was raised to be very shallow.

Positive experience: Staff extremely friendly and helpful, water a lovely temperature. Place cleaner

Negative experience: I took up Pilates classes here back in July last year and although the classes have been great (which are run by someone external rather than the fitness centre itself) the booking system, administration and communication of Tadley Health & Fitness are all dreadful. I have had my account deactivated a number of times since joining, for no reason. I, along with others in the class, have also had blocks put on to our accounts for not showing up when in fact we always attended - it was just that staff never used to check us in. No one responds to emails, no one ever answers the phone, and the only way to get anything resolved is to go in there (I say "resolved" loosely as the same errors and issues come up time and time again). I don't live close so can't keep going in to get the staff to unblock my account or reactivate my membership. As this company clearly doesn't want my money I will now be going elsewhere (I do feel sorry for our instructor though - this is not her fault!)

Negative experience: Poor customer services !! Absolutely terrible staff and the manager Linsey . Do not recommend!!

Negative experience: A poorly run centre with decent enough facilities (when not out of use) that could be so much better with improved management and maintenance both in house and WRT the operator SERCO. The issue is not about money.

Positive experience: Grandkids do swomming lessons here

Negative experience: It is a shame to leave a bad review as the staff are lovely but I used the sauna and, although it did the job, the members in there informed me that the steam room and jacuzzi had been broken since before the lockdowns. The air conditioning is also broken. All the vending machines seemed to no longer be working as well as a few pieces of equipment in the gym that gave no date they would be fixed by, rather just saying “asap”. I used the gym and there is a very limited amount of equipment, with there was only a single set of plates in a few different weights, so if one person was using them then nobody else could.

Positive experience: Pretty much what you would expect from a small leisure centre. Has most things for a cheaper price... Though it is always a little frustrating when facilities are sub par compared to premium places, still you get what you pay for. Would recommend. In addition to this I have heard as part of most memberships you are able to go to Basingstoke gym too, which is a bigger more advanced facility, so it's nice to have this option.

Positive experience: Friendly reception staff. Despite signs asking people to remove shoes before entering pool changing rooms, several visitors stomped in in outdoor footwear. Toilets a bit grubby. Group exercise room has mirrors which need a good polish. Overall, a bit dirty, and needs staff to be a bit more engaged in keeping areas clean and welcoming.

Positive experience: It is a nice enough swimming pool as a building , but staff are awful. The young lads speak to adult woman with no manners and rude . The staff are always chatting . Paying little attention. Cubicles smell quite often like people have wee on floor .

Positive experience: I enjoy coming here for casual swim with my daughter and I have a gym membership. My only annoyance is that quote often the pool is closed due to maintenance.

Positive experience: Swimming pool with movable floor. Good gym with a variety of machines. Classes such as yoga, Zumba and Pilates are held in a small studio room within the building. The sauna, steam room and spa pool facilities are currently closed as they are being refurbished.

Positive experience: Very nice poole, very good experienced staff. Half of the showers have no hot water, one shower from other half not working at all. Still good overall.

Fantastic experience: Good for toddler splash sessions because the floor can be raised. It is a pity there are not more baby and toddler sessions

Negative experience: Absolutely a joke of a place cancelled the swimming lessons as they couldn’t provide instructors every time and also instructors teaching wrong classes and not doing there reviews unless prompted, now I have debt collectors chasing me as they didn’t cancel there end correctly and apparently there is nothing they can do Avoid at all costs they charge you for there mistakes and then say they can’t help at all . The only reason they have one star is because I can’t give anything less !!

Negative experience: This pool has seriously gone down in hygiene the last few years. The floor is brown and there is black mold growing on the floor spreading. The pool closes regularly saying for maintenance yet no improvements to the pool. Lane swim sessions have been cut down and my sons swimming lessons are cancelled with no credit given back. Someone was sick in the pool today meaning children swim lesson was ended, they could not get in the pool understandably but were told it would be ok in half an hour which is gross. Staff were just watching the pool to see where the sick went with hands over their mouths with the children standing on the pool side until they made the decision to close pool. This should have been done immediately regardless of where the sick was travelling!!! Disgusting hygiene. This should be made to shut down until health concerns are dealt with!!!

Fantastic experience: Lovely cafe and quick service

Negative experience: Called in asking if sauna and jacuzzi were open, they said yes. Not only wasn’t the jacuzzi working, it hadn’t been for two years!! Also, the “health” suite itself, was in an absolute state!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing pool clean and tidy the changing rooms are clean they clean the pool every day

Positive experience: Great pool, nice gym. Staff friendly and helpful. Our boys have swum here since they were 3 months old and loved it. One of the reasons we moved to this town. Reasonable swim memberships too. :-)

Positive experience: Good pool to take kids to. One star dropped as mould growing on floor of the pool, so off putting.

Negative experience: The aqua fit class is amazing and well worth doing however, the showers and cubicles need cleaning regularly the same dirty panty pad stuffed down the back of a bench is still there 2 days later . Hair and dirt in solo cubicle. Too much chatting by staff rather than cleaning!

Fantastic experience: Nice pool. Fairly clean .

Positive experience: Friendly staff...and regulars at social swims here. You never know what the water temperature is going to be until you're in, but that doesn't bother me. The regular swimming instructors are a friendly bunch too. I enjoy taking my 10 year old for his lessons here and having a play/swim with him around his lesson. Update: This is no longer possible as they have changed the timetable, which prevents this. So there will no longer be father and son playtime and we'll miss out on the social aspect with other families that visit with their children. Additionally, they are enforcing a change to the instructor's contracts, so it looks unlikely that we will be able to continue his one to one lessons...we just don't know yet. For these reasons I have downgraded my review score. It's a real shame.

Positive experience: Good facilities but needs a more extensive swimming timetable for Lane swims, choice is currently very limited so it's hard to find a convenient time and is often crowded

Fantastic experience: Been a few years since I have been here and they have done it up. The changing rooms for the pool are nice and clean and plenty of lockers. The pool was a nice temperature and not to much chlorine so felt good after my swim. Now I have been, I will be back more and more. The timetable on line is easy to use so you know what is going on in the pool (e.g. Lane Swimming)

Positive experience: Great gym, there is always equipment available. The pool has a good balance of clases and lane swimming. And has a steam room!!!

Fantastic experience: Really enjoy coming here with my baby on Thursdays for the toddler splash session. It's so nice that they raise the pool height for the sessions and get out toys. Weirdly the first time I came they had loads of toys and it was really amazing but they've not got them all out other weeks which is a shame. As others have noted, would be good to have more big lockers and family sized changing rooms, but I guess space is at a premium. The pool room itself is lovely, there is lovely light coming in which makes feel so different than a lot of leisure centre pools which can tend to be dingy. In general I found facilities clean and staff friendly and we will be back many more times.

Positive experience: Great little leisure centre, it has everything you need to work out and the staff and members are really friendly too. You get a lot for your money, with the ability to use the Basingstoke centre too as they are linked

Negative experience: Awful organisation and very poor website

Positive experience: I have been swimming at this pool for over 10 years and it has been one of my favourite pools to swim in because of the beautiful building and the great facilities. However sadly since the start of the pandemic, the number of lane swimming sessions has dropped significantly and there is almost no lane swimming sessions all weekend, and shorter hours in the weekday as well. I can see no valid reason for this and this is a great disappointment and will be swimming elsewhere.

Positive experience: This really is only just OK. I want to like Tadley Swimming pool but like many leisure centres, everything is tired and in need of a bit of love, and it wouldn't take much to make it amazing. Half the showers run only cold, you can smell the toilets from the pool, 1/4 of the family changing rooms are out of action and only 1 working hair dryer for the whole facility. Easy fixes really with a bit of investment and a few engineers/cleaners. The kids love it so I will return, but I wish I had another option near to home as this really is the only reason we go here.

Positive experience: Wasn't able to go swimming with my granddaughter following a 147 mile journey

Negative experience: Would not recommend the gym as the contract is poorly managed

Negative experience: For anything Gym related the reception has no real concept of how the back end system works and cant offer any real service in regards to it

Positive experience: Overall a decent swimming pool and well priced. Staff are friendly and the pool is clean. I would say that the changing rooms are a little dated along with the lockers. Also, for a family friendly place, there needs to be more family changing areas. I would recommend the pool though.

Positive experience: Pool is great, staff are great. The problem is the significant reduction in lane swimming opportunities compared to pre-COVID. At least half the sessions are no longer available and nobody will explain why.

Negative experience: Do not book anything at this pool if you think there's a chance you might cancel as apparently it isn't illegal to refuse a refund on a cancelled booking almost a week in advance! According to them unless it's 'covid related' they can just take your money and give no reason even though there are very few situations in any other industry that will refuse a refund as long as it's far enough from the booking. Absolutely shocking practice.

Fantastic experience: Great facility pretty much on my doorstep, 25m pool so perfect for 'proper' swimming with lots of COVID-19 procedures in place to make you feel safe.

Negative experience: If you want good communication and flexibility during these uncertain times then this is not the pool to go get a membership at! After Covid lessons were resumed I was given 1 and only option of a class for my little girl during working hours and I said I could not accommodate (given I work in healthcare and I am a key worker and I cannot leave my job to attend pool lessons) then I was told is that class or I can cancel membership! I was never given then option to freeze the membership or remain on hold while it was kept during lockdown! Now we have no slot and we cannot take any lessons at the pool as we are considered new customer after we were asked to cancel our membership! While other members were given the option to freeze we were only given the option to cancel! Instead of apologising for not providing all members with the same options the manager went ahead and said why the grandparents or other family members could not accommodate the time given to us... highly unacceptable and sensitive comment if you do not know everyone’s circumstances! Very very disappointing experience!!

Negative experience: Very Overpriced, they dont let you use the gym only... And check your direct debit if you have cancled as they have been charging me for a year and will not refund! - Typical Serco behaviour. Local staff are wonderful though :)

Positive experience: Great place to swim, build up your fitness in the gym and the staff are all really kind. However sometimes the floor is extremely wet alongside some seats in the cubicles. Other than that I really like Tadley Health & Fitness

Positive experience: Good pool for kids to learn to swim. Water levels vary depending on the age of your child.

Fantastic experience: Much nicer place than Basingstoke Aquadrome - I'd rather drive the 8 miles to here than go there even though it's only half a mile away! Personalised service, easy access and plenty of parking that's actually available.

Positive experience: The pool and staff are great however cleanliness in the changing rooms is utterly vile and the smell is nauseating. Even my 3 year old refuses to use the toilets or walk on the floor and I really can not blame her. The only reason we continue to use the pool is due to the fact there are no other swimming lessons locally that suite us. Please sort the toilets out and clean the floors it really is disgusting

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting experience. The staff were friendly but seemed absolutely clueless, only one of the lifeguards seemed to have any competency. Nothing was explained properly to me. Everything was filthy! Any metal on any of the changing room doors is rusty. The floor didn't look like they had been cleaned in a long while. I went to see if it was worth getting a membership and left feeling like my skin was crawling. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.
