Our comment from FitFit UK about Bath Sports and Leisure Centre:
Bath Sports and Leisure Centre is a vibrant facility offering a variety of sports and leisure activities ideal for families and individuals alike. Located in the heart of Bath, users appreciate its convenient access and the extensive range of activities available, including swimming, bowling, trampolining, and fitness classes.
Key Highlights:
- Family-friendly leisure pool with slides and water features.
- Well-equipped gym with a good selection of fitness classes.
- Supportive and friendly staff who contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.
- Easy booking system through the app for classes and activities.
- Variety of activities suitable for all age groups.
However, some users have pointed out issues that need attention. Several reviews highlight cleanliness concerns, particularly in changing facilities, which appear to require more regular cleaning. Additionally, feedback indicates frustrations regarding the swimming pool temperature and overcrowding during peak times. Parking is also noted as a challenge, with many users struggling to find adequate space near the facility.
Despite these drawbacks, Bath Sports and Leisure Centre remains a popular choice for many local residents seeking a diverse range of leisure activities.

Bath Sports and Leisure Centre: Opinions
Negative experience: Apparently, when you book a court for 1h, you will only be able to use it for 45mins and that should be the expectation. We booked table tennis, and were at first told to play on court 4 because a table was already set up there. Then we were asked to move to a different court (which we originally reserved, but which was not prepared in time for our booking) and only 12mins into our booking, the staff have started setting the table up for us. Still they did not do a proper job so we had to remove and reinstall the net again (typical). So our time on the court started 15mins late. Still, 2-3mins before our booked time finished, we were asked to leave. The staff at the centre are unable to manage the preparation of the courts timely and are incompetent in terms setting the tables up. The tables, rackets, nets and balls at the centre are chewed up and are borderline unusable. Many of the tables are missing chunks of the surface for example. When it comes to communicating with the customers, you will be treated like you are a cash cow.
Fantastic experience: Have been going to a fitness class for approx. 18 months, membership option is great and makes the classes very good value, booking is very easy to manage via the app, staff are all very supportive and approachable and I am definitely benefiting with improved fitness. Highly recommend !
Positive experience: Grandchildren enjoyed Putify. Something different on a chilly day and not too far for granny to walk! It was expensive at £1 per person per hole! Given it only took half an hour! I thought we got an hour, so possibly 2 rounds when I booked. My mistake. The cafe only has coffee / tea, bottled drinks and snack packets.
Positive experience: Toilets are dirty, Staff is good, some places in leisure centre is dirty. It was a alright experience though.
Positive experience: Great pool and a nice one for families next to it with a slide above. Although, the family pool looked a little on the small side.
Fantastic experience: Great fun playing the Puttify game, lots of fun for kids and adults, would definitely return and play again
Fantastic experience: Went to the new crazy golf and it’s so much fun, interactive and they have a live leader board. Aim is to get 100, you have 3 chances but if you don’t there are other points on offer Was good choosing your team name which you enter at each hole and your picture too. No ability needed and suitable for all ages, great Christmas Eve fun
Negative experience: If I could it 0 stars I would.went to play bowling and was charged twice as much as I should have been and the outright rude staff members refused to refund me. Furthermore the lane was broken and really uneven and the staff refused to move us. Never returning. Avoid like the plague!
Negative experience: Facilities are generally good here but booking and using the app are awful. Our kids had swimming lessons here. When they had to move up a level there wasn't a space in the next class. We asked if there was a waiting list but there isn't. You just have to keep calling back every week to see if there's a space. At one point when booking on the next level swimming lessons another account was created and another direct debit was set up. This took months to resolve. Every week we would ask at the desk but took ages and many phone calls to resolve. When one child stopped swim lessons we gave 4 weeks notice and were told that we have to give 2 months notice. We had to argue and speak to the manager and point out their T&Cs. They eventually agreed to credit the money to the other child's account as an act of goodwill. Booking a group of kids for trampolining, swimming etc is really hard work with their awful booking system. The app on my iphone is not fit for purpose. On the swim timetable their isn't an open swim sessions. My children are 10 and 12 and want to have a fun swim and not lane swimming. The leisure pool is way too small for them and you can't swim in it. It's great for smaller children but not bigger kids. I often book lane swimming for myself. Online it says only 1 or 2 spaces left and yet when I get to the pool there's less then 10 people there.
Negative experience: Rude staff never smile with bad attitude. Freezing cold water, filly, dirty place with hair in the sink, toilet flush dosent work, it needs a good clean. And the staff are rasist took my mixed race daughter there, they said she couldn't go swimming in the children pool by her self even thou I be watching, by the side of the pool she's 9. I wouldnt go back to that dirty place with the horrible staff un hygiene place. It's no place to take children. Children can catch all sorts of diseases. The floor is wet as well you can seriously slip hurt yourself.
Negative experience: Very cold had to cut family swim short. Been previously and has been at a pleasant temperature, we had to get my 1 year old neice out because her lips were turning blue and she was shivering not what you expect. Such a shame as the kids did love it.
Positive experience: Needs more parking! Tiny car park so arrive super early if you have a booking. We were 15 minutes early and nearly missed out booking as struggled to park.
Negative experience: We went here for the family pool for my daughter's birthday as my neighbour told me about it. Cannot fault the pool facilities as it's really good for small children. However, on the negative side the changing rooms are GRIM and utterly filthy. Half of the toilets aren't working (or have run out of loo roll or randomly have a sanitary bin placed on top). Layers of dust cake the top of changing room doors, gross stale water on the floor and not a cleaner in sight. For a privately owned leisure centre, customers deserve so much more. I don't think I'll go back in a hurry.
Negative experience: On arrival there's a small sign that says 'shoe free zone' a small bench with shoes under. I removed my shoes and went bare foot into the changing room. I noticed many families ect with shoes on, some quite dirty looking shoes too. Needless to say the floor was very dirty, I felt ill walking through it with bare feet. The changing rooms were dirty, hair, crisps, nappies and brown dirty floors. Swimming was ok but showering was awful, again dirty and very off putting. Everywhere there are flies, dead ones on walls and live ones everywhere. I've given one star because I did swim and the pool wasn't busy. Overall a bad experience because of the dirty changing/showering facilities.
Negative experience: Disgustingly filthy changing room for swimmers. It's supposed to be a shoe free zone but many people ignore this and brazenly walk in with dirty shoes and boots. The floor is filthy, as are the changing rooms. You'll see muck, matted hair, food remains and soiled nappies. Also, there's a serious issue with black flies buzzing around and stuck to the tiles in the showers. It's generally filthy and I dread to think what people, including children, are picking up on their bare feet. The other issue is seeing staff walk around, and through, the changing rooms with outside trainers. You can clearly see mud and mucky stains on these trainers! There's an overall cavalier attitude to cleanliness! At other times, a mob of adults stand around the children's pool with their outside shoes/boots. Nobody seems to give a damn! It shouldn't be like this but it is and it's extremely unpleasant!
Negative experience: Dirty vents, drain flies, parents wearing outdoor shoes in 'No Shoe' areas. Not a great experience for swimming.
Fantastic experience: We brought our infant here for a swim before a day in the city , friendly and welcoming staff, great leisure pool with band system so it didn't get too busy.
Fantastic experience: Really great swimming pool. Perfect for my 8yo and 2yo
Positive experience: Kids love the pool. However, there is mould and mildew on the walls of the pool, which makes it unpleasant to swim near.
Fantastic experience: I love it here but it's not as good since they got rid of the other waterslide, what a downgrade.
Positive experience: Didn't use the facilities really - we met relatives who were. We had a meal in the restaurant - was poor, wouldn't recommend. Relatives had a great time on the trampolines and swimming however
Negative experience: The changing village was disgusting Chewing gum on the floors, brown splatter up the cubical walls, muddy floors, lots of hair in the showers but I was most appalled to find black worms crawling on the toilet floor, on googling, they are drain fly larvae, completely unacceptable.
Fantastic experience: Great centre. Really helpful staff, good facilities and a lovely pool which the kids loved. Temperature was just right!
Fantastic experience: Visited to go bowling with the family. All thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Priced reasonably. Would definitely recommend
Positive experience: For swimming you'll need a token for the locker which is 30p at the changing room entrance - contactless only. For sauna booking online/app the swim is included which is why it can be confusing as either £0 or £7+ Went Saturday afternoon. Clean changing rooms. Nice staff. Clean pool.
Positive experience: Took my son to the trampolining section. Bit overpriced for the time spent their and could do with working air con.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place. Great for leisure swimming. The flume is fun too, wish there were more. Shower facilities available. A bit of a bummer that the changing room floors are sometimes wet but not a big problem. The small pool is always closed but the big pool and kiddie pools are open. No diving ladder but there are diving blocks.
Fantastic experience: I love it. Local and convenient and provides all sport and leisure needs. Highly recommend..
Positive experience: Ok, nice water slides and warm water in one of the pools.
Fantastic experience: Great value gym and swimming pool with a wide range of excellent classes and equipment. Really inclusive atmosphere and convenient for everything you could want from a gym and leisure centre. Fantastic and committed instructors and PTs.
Positive experience: Me and my daughter go here and use the bowling alley. Staff are all pretty good and the place is clean and tidy.
Fantastic experience: Nice sports centre. Well equipped gym. It's just a shame that people fill the changing rooms with aerosols. But that's at no fault of the facilities.
Positive experience: Go most days and it's very good for what you pay. The sauna could be bigger but the gym, pool, soft play, and parking are all decent. This is all made an easier and better experience because of Laura, the receptionist!
Positive experience: Been loads of times but it would be good if they let you pay cash because I wasn't able to go because no money on card
Positive experience: My child loves this place, just a bit expensive for only one hour. Especially with the cost of parking outside. And the time it takes to dress your child and self ready for a swim is included in your hour.
Fantastic experience: Its got stuff my kid likes but he's 3 and can't write google reviews.
Positive experience: This is a lovely leisure centre with lots to do for the whole family but the toilets smelled awful on 2 consecutive days. The floor in the pool was also very filthy. We spend a lot of time here over the last days, staff are very friendly but haven't seen a single cleaner. Such a shame
Fantastic experience: Kids pool is great. Softplay is average but convenient for a coffee.
Negative experience: Swimming pool changing rooms and showers could do with a deep clean, mould and limescale build up in these areas.Disappointing expected better level of cleanliness . The lockers were also filthy non refundable fee needs to reviewed if not cleaned.
Negative experience: Customer service is poor at the main reception, very ignorant and don't seem friendly with families from minority backgrounds I don't feel comfortable here with my kids but they love the swimming pool
Fantastic experience: Our son enjoyed his 5th birthday party at the Trampoline Park on Saturday morning! It went smoothly and we all had a fantastic time. Heather helpfully managed the numbers and food orders running up towards the event. On the day, Mia and her team worked tirelessly to make it a seamless operation - opening downstairs room early to enable ample preparation time before the trampoline session kicks off, polite staff assisting in the Trampoline Park and timely delivery of hot food and drinks when the children went downstairs for the after party and cake. Feedback from other parents post event have been very positive on the experience too. Many thanks for hosting us and we hope to be back for another party!
Positive experience: Very good variety of fitness classes and instructors. There is enough equipment in the gym and classes area to use, and they provide ways to disinfect before every use. The only downside is having to pay separate for the swimming pool lockers, which is not much but adds up overtime. What they need to work on is people booking classes, as it is sometimes impossible to get a spot, and many people don’t even bother to cancel and don’t show up. I’ve seen some instructors taking action and making attendees sign a registry to confirm they are booked for the session & fine those who don’t show up. Overall, very good value for money.
Negative experience: Something needs to be done urgently about the hygiene of the changing facilities before someone gets very ill!! It's not good enough from any perspective! You have a whole load of staff hanging around reception doing nothing on a busy weekend. The pool stank of chlorine which is an indication, quite ironically, that more chlorine needs to be added. I'm so disgusted that you would let a family fun activity go on with the state of the whole place!
Negative experience: Family fun swim??? It was definitely not fun getting changed in a filthy changing room with our 4 year old daughter. A dirty nappy lay in one of the family cubicles, crisps on the floor, a bloody rag on top of one of the changing rooms...and our feet where black from walking from the showers to the changing cubicle. We did not see any cleaning of the changing rooms going on whilst we were there and the water was not tested. The pool is so over chlorinated we were very dry and itchy when we got out! Not very healthy! We would definitely not return here. It's dirty and we would not trust our daughter going anywhere near this place !'
Fantastic experience: I joined Better about a year ago and just renewed my membership. Love the classes. People are lovely who work here. Also love the swimming pool. I recommend joining if you haven't done anything for a while. The classes help you meet people in the same boat
Fantastic experience: Good place to go and have a nice time.. of course paying the fee . But it is worth it
Positive experience: Often take my toddler swimming. Very good pool for young ones with various slides and water features for them. Only downside is the water is colder than expected for a pool designed for young children
Fantastic experience: Nice place, been going swimming here for years and great trampoline park but a bit disappointed with timing for junior classes I would go if they were later
Fantastic experience: I've signed up again, after a long absence. In the meantime, Better have taken over & totally revamped the facilities. Fabulous!
Fantastic experience: For a local leisure centre I think this place is great. Kids love the trampoline park and the bowling alley.
Negative experience: First trip to softplay with our 4 & 2 year old grandchildren. Disappointing as it was such a small area for young children and not many tables so half of us had to sit outside. Toilets were filthy, bleach doesn't cost much to put down the loos. Really not pleasant to take my grandson.
Positive experience: The Better Sports and Leisure centre in Bath is 'middle of the road'. Inoffensive but unimpressive. It gets points for proximity to the city centre but suffers with parking as a result. Squash, a very large sports hall and fitness studios have made way for a reduced (4x badminton court) hall, bowling and an air-hop style soft play area (take noise cancelling headphones!) It's great having some of these facilities close to the city centre and on a rainy day when my kids were younger I was more of a fan. The swimming pool was recently spruced up and, with a couple of slides, good whether you want to smash it some lengths or mess around about taking your toddler and older kids. 10 pin bowling is the type with pins on strings. It's passable and, thankfully, lacking the noise and lights of Hollywood Bowl-esque arcade areas. It is a crying shame that there are no longer any public squash courts in Bath so you end up driving to Keynsham, Corsham or further.
Fantastic experience: Attended the 8am functional fitness session with Ben. The class was very welcoming and the instructor very approachable. The class was set up so that you could chose your weight level and I never felt judged for picking the lighter weights, only encouraged! Would highly recommend as it was a challenging workout but very enjoyable!
Negative experience: What a let down - first visit will be the last - web site offered "A family fun swim session for all ages and abilities, with a variety of pool features for everyone to enjoy." Reality - shallow pool with fun activities for small children - one slide for any age - lane pool had 4 people in it, we took our 11 year old nephew who can swim - but not very confident in here - and were asked (politely) to get out as this pool was reserved for competent lane swimming only. Learner pool was closed when we arrived and the lane pool shut half way through our session. Please give a more realistic description of what's on offer - we drove from Bristol for this very disappointing experience.
Negative experience: Took a one year old to soft play while her older brother was bowling. The small area for children aged 0 to 3 was over run by kids aged 6 and over, throwing balls at our little one and telling us that they didn't want her to play as it was their play area!. Their parents sat back and watched. No supervision by staff. Got a refund and left. Not recommended for toddlers.
Negative experience: Pretty terrible experience, joined via the website, on arrival I queued for about 45 minutes to be told that I have to book the gym via the app 20 minutes before arrival. Felt like they were hiding behind COVID to offer poor service. Sauna is closed but again, doesn't say on the website. Face ID appears to be a thing for other gyms of the brand, but not this one. App required to use the fitness center but not mentioned anywhere on the website. The whole thing is a bait and switch. Equipment is sparse and old (3 exercise bikes, really?), layout is awkward, it's overpriced really for what you get. Waste of £40.
Hi James Thank you for your feedback. Our centre does not usually have any type of queue, could you confirm if you meant 4-5 minutes? If not, could you please confirm what time of day you were at the centre so we can look into this. Unfortunately our Sauna hasn’t reopened since COVID, which is indicated on our website as a service that is unavailable. We do however, hope that we can reopen very soon. We do offer Face ID in a number of our London centres but offer an access gate system at this centre. Could we confirm which app you’re referring to? We do have the Better UK app, however, it isn’t compulsory. For those not using the app, we do direct customers onto the online booking system instead. Unless the session was full, which is extremely rare, you could have booked your session online at the time of entry into the centre, however, we do suggest pre-booking any type of session at the centre in advance as a benefit to being a member is you have access to book 7 days in advance. Finally, at Bath Sports and Leisure Centre, there is approximately 110 stations in our gym which have been well spaced for customer comfort. There are 3 upright bikes, 2 recumbent bikes, 2 spin bikes and 2 watt bikes. There is another smaller centre in Bath which we operate, which is called Culverhay Leisure Centre, we, however, are based on North Parade Road. If you do have any other feedback, please do get in touch with us on here or by visiting the centre. Many thanks.
Positive experience: A great pool for little kids with a few slides, but can get packed out and feel crowded. Changing rooms generally clean.
Positive experience: Well equipped gym. I have been using for years. The equipment really needs cleaning and looks like it hasn't been done in a long time. Some needs repairing and replacing older equipment.
Negative experience: Very disappointed we booked one hour in the rooms to make her cake my daughter cake for her birthday and 2 hours on the soft play we had right specific on the email which room we want ready for her birthday they had prepared totally different room to make the room ready and I had to pay 1 mor hour extra for the room to have time for the decorecion but because of the no communication on the staff with the management my decoration it was not ready in the end when the people arrived I didn't had the decoration for the balloons because no time I requested from one of the stuff on reception to help the lady with tables and the chairs and he's answer it was we cannot because we have to do different jobs l pay 50£ for the room for 2h and 310£ 2 hours soft play very disappointed no communication on the staff and on the management . On the reception they care about more to get the payment for the room down instead to help and have the room ready for the party . I prepared the room by myself and one team member It was a lady from reception she was trying to help me as much as she could . Very disappointed for so much money it's not worth it
Positive experience: Better than what exactly? So this was my first visit to what seems a lovely new and clean set up. It is just annoying that they had no milk, so no coffee (unless you want oat milk) no soft drinks, no slush puppy - only alcoholic drinks - no good for kids. I was going to offer to nip to the shops to buy some milk, but thought that would not land well.. Staff were really chirpy and helpful, so I guess this is a management issue - maybe they’d just had a busier than expected weekend and ran out of everything.
Fantastic experience: Brilliantl place for letting steam go! . Lots of fun on Trampolines.
Negative experience: I know that cold water swimming is good for health, but that swimming pool was so cold i had to get put after 10minutes! Absolutely insane that a kids pool can legally be that cold! I didn't try the main swimming pool which in my opinion can run colder since you're doing lengths, but in the kids pool where you can't move around as much just seems really cheap. Shame because the facilities would be ace!
Negative experience: It's small and a little boring. It's great for toddlers, but apart from this, I'm not sure I will be coming back. Also, you have to pay to park your car to use the facilities, I think this is unfair. There really shouldn't be a charge for this
Fantastic experience: Love this leisure centre. Often take my kids to the Family Fun pool. Always clean and tidy. Probably the best place to take young kids swimming in the bath / Keynsham area. Kids lessons are in a different pool so there’s hour sessions available all day.
Positive experience: The gym has plenty of equipment and is very spacious. The monthly subscription is a bit pricey but i think most gyms are nowadays.
Positive experience: +++A great well equipped gym , not too busy , excellent range of classes. --- Needs a good deep clean , showers often smell of blocked drains , toilet roll dispensers are blocked 80% of the time .
Negative experience: There is not enough staff in the bowling section
Positive experience: First time visiting here today for a family swim as we normally go to a pool closer to home but thought let's have a change. Mixed reviews about this place, under building car park layout is tight and tricky to get the car around with no paths or designated walking areas. My wife and the kids went in the building before me as I was putting the parking ticket in our car. God knows if they had to check in on arrival as when I met up with them we just walked through the barriers that were open. I didn't see no staff around or a designated reception desk. Layout of the changing rooms is strange. Lockers seem a bit far away from the showers so I was having to do trips back and forth with our bags while leaving belongings in an open locker because the token didn't come back out when I put the key in. I had to leave the key with one of the lifeguards when we went into the pool as the key strap was broken and wouldn't tighten around my wrist or ankle. I do like the contactless 30p payment though for a locker unlike most pools where you have to put in a pound coin. I thought the family pool was a bit crowded and a bit on the cold side, but the kids loved it and there's so much for them to have fun with. I do think that the lifeguards need to be a bit more attentive though. We stood there and watched this young kid walking up the slide and sliding down one of the slides countless times. We were expecting him to slip up and hurt himself but nothing was said to him or picked up on. We had to stop our son from going on the slide while this kid was doing this as we could tell our son thought it was acceptable and wanted to join in. We were in the pool for well over an hour, which was strange as I thought from pre booking on the website we were booked in for a one hour's swim, but the lifeguards didn't call out our colour of the band to exit the pool. Strange place but the kids had fun regardless
Thank you for your review and providing so much detail. Please could I request that you contact me directly so I can further investigate the comments made regarding lifeguarding standards and lack of staff engagement throughout your visit. Many thanks Samantha Lanning General Manager [email protected]
Negative experience: Arrived to parking meter not working, no signal to do via phone unless walking out of the parking lot to do it.had to download an app Which even costs slightly more than paying cash.wasn’t advised this when booking. Lockers take a token rather than a £1 coin which receptionist didn’t notify us of, so was left £3 down by the time we realised what the problem was. The manager on duty Dave Cook refused us a refund of our money despite the fact you could clearly see the £1 coins stuck in the lockers, was advised to chase it up with the locker company. Wasn’t the cleanest. The pool area had green/black mould in places & the toddler slide rails were very rusty. Wouldn’t hurry back there; mainly because of poor communication, a very rude manager & the uncleanliness…..
Dear Mummabear88, I apologise that your visit to our centre was less than satisfactory. Despite being linked to the building the car park is not operated by Bath Sports and Leisure Centre but rather BANES council, I will therefore, pass on your concerns to parking services. Information regarding travel and car parking is available on the Better website. In regard to our locker tokens, signage is in place at the entrance to the changing village, however, this should have been explained to you at reception. Whilst I appreciate your frustration on not receiving a refund, the centre is cashless and therefore, staff including managers would not have been able to refund you for the coins lost. The cleanliness issues you have raised have now been looked into and action is already taking place to resolve these ASAP. Should you wish to discuss your concerns further please do not hesitate to contact me directly, via [email protected]. Kind Regards, Sam Lanning General Manager
Fantastic experience: I think it's great for the price. A lot of negative reviews on here for better health. I pay £30 per month, which I feel is a much lower price than any other gyms that boast a pool, sauna and plunge pool all included in the price. For expample, fitness ,4 less was I think £70/80 compared with betters £30... The gym is generally great, it's quiet, even at peak times I don't have to wait for bench or machines very often I can just get in there and do my work out uninterrupted. If I go at say 2pm it's practically empty. I also use the pool and sauna for a warm down most of the time. The pool is generally fairly quiet and divided into lanes. The sauna is hit and miss on how busy it is, some times it's full and sometimes it's really quiet, but I have always been able to get a space as it's never over capacity. The booking system on the app is easy to use, and if you look early enough there's no problems finding spaces on swimming and sauna sessions. The changing rooms for the gym are clean, however the pool changing rooms obviously experience high volumes of traffic and are a LITTLE dirty, nothing compared to how described in some reviews here, if you find one that's a bit dirty you can pop your head in others and find one that's clean enough, and I go practically everyday, sometimes they're spotless but later in the day they can be slightly dirty. (Saw one review sawing mud, nappies all sorts, but that's not the case in my experience) The plunge pool water could do with being slightly colder, the changing rooms for the pool could do with cleaning slightly more regularly and thoroughly. Other than that, it's great, cheap as chips for all that equipment and the spa!! I'm in better shape than ever after just a few months, I've been members of other gyms but it's never worked til now, they have always been too busy for me to want to go, until I came to better health. It is an accommodating place for all, there are many different types of people in the gym from young children to elderly folks, disabled people, super buff guys and girls, to really over weight ones and anything in-between.
Fantastic experience: We had been on children party at soft space.... Amazing Children disappeared almost for 1 hour Clean, comfortable, safety
Negative experience: Hi I made booking for trampoline park with my son on Wednesday 02/07 at 14:45 when I was doing booking online it was showing 11 available places. When we came I didn’t expect the whole group of kids aged 10-12 who don’t completely know how to act and no one could keep control under them. I saw a lot of kids who couldn’t enjoy play becuase of rest of kids who was in older age. I also spoke with person responsible for controlling them and she said it’s normal in my opinion is not I’m paying £22 and my son who is nearly 4 can’t use others areas becuase of others kids who are in older age and don’t speak English which it don’t seems like problem for me but still I don’t think it’s fair to others persons who would like to use others trampolines becuase it’s just impossible becuase of number of kids who are how I said under complete control. Plus workers who actually don’t care what going on
Hi Joanne. Thank you for your feedback, I apologise that you felt the park was too busy at the time of your visit. During holiday periods we do expect our park to become busy, but at no stage have we exceeded capacity. We do run toddler bounce sessions which are designed for younger children under the age of 5 and have a much lower capacity. These run every Friday throughout the holidays from 9am-10am and in term time on a Friday morning, which you may find more enjoyable. Many thanks Sam Lanning (General Manager).
Fantastic experience: Our kids enjoyed the pool and the slides and the splash pad type things, lots of changing space and massive family changing
Negative experience: Filthy. Cubicles smelled of urine 2 days in a row . Pool packed. Gym is ok. Some Trainers are nice. Most staff are indifferent. Mixed changing rooms for the pool which is disgusting. Some of the men that go are creepy. The doors to into the lavatories in the entrance look like they are never cleaned and the pool is usually murky as they dont seem change the filters very often.
Positive experience: We took the family bowling there. The area for sitting at the front of the lanes is small. If you have a family opposite then it is cramped. The balls are scattered so you have to go to other lanes to get your preferred size. It was also very hot, no air conditioning! This was a big downside as it made it very uncomfortable by our second game.
Negative experience: The gym equipment is alright but my son says that there is a lack of freedom and choice specifically with free weights under 16 (junior gym) My son (15) Is very annoyed he cant use them anymore because some 12 year decided to mess around with them and instead of them getting banned all junior gym members cant use them, I would say this is just unfair and something needs to be reconsidered so I'm leaving a 1 star on behalf of my son.
Positive experience: Great place to come swimming, we used the kids pool area with the water slides. First visit. One staff member went to get me another coin for the locker and never came back ended up going out on my bikini to the machines. Then saw him chatting away to some colleagues. Tall bloke with a green tshirt.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff. Good selection of fitness classes. Decent showers upstairs. Nice facilities. Upstair showers could be cleaned more regularly as have seen a leaf, clumps of hair and clothes labels from 5 days ago that have not been removed in one of the female shower cubicles
Positive experience: Swimming pool seems warmer than complaints have led me to believe. Could be cleaner and showing signs of disrepair. Should have a few well placed soft grids so kids don't fall down wet steps onto solid tiles. Nice staff tho, discounted parking for people using the center, reasonable changing facilities Soft play is pretty decent too. Strange that it goes upwards into a room clearly used as a dumping ground for excess gym equipment... Whole place is ok-good just needs a maintainance schedule and a tidy!
Positive experience: The only one leisure pool around and not even large slide open, if I knew I wouldnt even booked. We should be informed on the booking about this, as my child just been intrested with this. Disappointed
Fantastic experience: I've been a member here off/on for about 6-7 years. It offers fantastic value for money, the staff are super friendly and the facilities are excellent.
Negative experience: I don't normally leave reviews but our experience was so bad I'm going to have to! Booked for family swim this weekend. We had travelled far to get there and got stuck in traffic. Called to ask if we could shift our pre booked session onto the next session so we could maximise our time. Customer service on the phone was rude and said it would not be possible as you can only cancel up to 4 hours before. Got there (late) to discover you have to PAY (!) 30p for a clothes locker. The changing rooms were disgustingly filthy. Raisins, half eaten biscuits, crumbs, hair, dirty wet wipes and nappies, mud in every family cubicle we checked. Toilets just as bad. This place does not get cleaned regularly. Family swim was far too crowded - you could barely move in the pool... which was freezing! Tiny mosaic tiles falling off the walls left to a scatter on the floor by the steps to small slide which my young boy loved trying to eat. Needless to say we left. I approached the main desk to complain but was greeted by 3 young teenager staff with no manager in site. Hugely disappointing. Do not go here!!!
Negative experience: I don't like giving bad reviews but the water was so cold it set my fibromyalgia off and I ended up in tears from the spasms and pain this caused! The showers are push button, so no temperature control, and were Luke warm at best. The disabled shower was just outright cold. The receptionist was kinda rude. The number you can call for information is centralised and they don't actually have correct, detailed info so I was ill advised on timetable and processes for booking. The lockers swallow tokens every time you open them which is almost a con imo. So yeah a pretty awful experience but the water was at least clean and clear I suppose!
Negative experience: The Gym and changing rooms are constantly filthy. The pool is absolutely freezing, the changing rooms are disgusting and the children's play areas (softplay etc.) are never cleaned. It's not as if it's even cheap that you can overlook these things, and you have to pay for parking on top. I would avoid.
Positive experience: The place is nice and bookings were easy to make. The badminton court could be cold.
Fantastic experience: I've used trampoline park yesterday with my daughter for the first time. It's really nice facilities and we've had great time. Nevertheless, the thing I'll remember the most it's how friendly and helpful were the girls at the reception, especially that girl with blond hair. Fantastic service and very good atmosphere since we arrived. The only downside is the fact that the person who is there to just supervise the child still must pay for it. I know it's only couple of pounds, but if you use the parking as well it's all adds up.
Positive experience: We went here for the first time last week. We were pleasantly surprised at the range of facilities, the pool has a fun splash area with fountains and a small slide and there is a bigger slide for slightly older kids. We then used the trampoline park which had a trapeze, basketball net and more. There is also a small softplay and a bowling alley, all which can be booked online. The only criticism I have is that you are charged to park in a council car park and that the changing room floors were extremely wet and a bit dirty. Overall great place to go.
Negative experience: Watch out for the pizza it came piping hot and caused my mouth to blister lucky I tried it first as it was for my young children
Positive experience: Large leisure centre located in the middle of Bath. Couple of swimming pools for serious swimmers and families with lots of other activities available, including bowling. Tight but decent carpark that tends to be near capacity most times.
Negative experience: Very cold water, we couldn't even complete the family swim as my little girl was shivering after 30 mins. Nice kids pool, but far too cold for little ones.
Fantastic experience: They gym space is excellent. It caters for and feels welcoming for people of all abilities. The gym staff is also very friendly and helpful if you need help with learning how to use any of the equipments. There are free to use lockers to leave your belongings. I haven’t yet tried the other facilities, only the yoga class once, which I wouldn’t recommend as the teacher uses it as a platform to sell her private classes and promulgate her religious beliefs (menstruating women shouldn’t do yoga).
Fantastic experience: Location is right at the centre, very convenient to access by public transport. It has its own carpark for visitors as well and be able to pay by mipermit. Facilities ate easy to book online.
Negative experience: We have booked a session for the soft play in advance. But staff doesn't control the time. People was there unlimited time. Usually, before starting a new session they must clean area and tables. We paid for additional adult, but we had no space were to seat... so we had to wait for a child outside... P.S. The soft play is really small with a tiny slide...
Positive experience: Good enough centre, with fair range of equipment for the price. Nice and empty early in the mornings. However the equipment is showing a lot of signs of wear and there's only one of each machine, with some basic machines (e.g. the cable row) missing. The staff are nice and friendly.
Positive experience: I bring the little boy I look after fairly regularly.... it's a nice softplay but the baby area needs to be cleared more regularly, especially the new softmats.... it's a shame when obviously really poorly children are in the area.....apart from that it's value for money.
Positive experience: Great leisure centre, truly excellent pool and additional facilities including bowling & soft play are well made & maintained. Staff are the expected level of leisure centre mildly friendly / passive. Special shout out to the swimming instructors though, they are great with the kids. Daughter absolutely loved her trampoline party. HOWEVER The car parking situation is incredibly poor. We have been 20 minutes late for a swimming lesson after arriving 10 minutes early but being utterly incapable of finding a parking space. This is not a rare occurrence. As such we are having to look at swimming lessons elsewhere which is a shame as it's a very good centre. The bowling is extraordinarily expensive also so unless you have some kind of voucher I just can't recommend the value for now.
Fantastic experience: Recently moved my membership from another local gym to Bath Sports Centre and have been enjoying using the gym in the mornings. I have been been impressed with the general cleanliness of the facilities and the friendliness of the staff. The accessible hairdryer and straighteners in the changing rooms have been great in allowing me to get myself completely ready for work afterwards which is a huge benefit to me. The staff in the gym are very helpful and one guy was around to advise me on one of the machines the other day. I feel relaxed and comfortable using the gym which has not always been the case in previous ones I have used.
Negative experience: Over the last six months or so, I have been alarmed to see no member of staff in the gym on numerous occasions. There are a lot of juniors in the gym , totally unsupervised for the most part. Even when there is a member of staff on duty, they often stay in the office , and do little to interact with the customers. I have written to the Manager and the Regional Manager to voice my concerns....NO RESPONSE? The staff churn is alarming, and this needs to be addressed urgently before there is an accident, or much worse. This is no way to treat paying customers.
Thank you for providing the feedback. The centre is working extremely hard to stabilise staffing especially in the gym, new staff are already being inducted to ensure we can provide full supervision of the gym floor moving forward. I can only apologise that no response has been provided so far, if you would like to contact the centre directly please use the email address [email protected]. Kind Regards, Samantha Lanning General Manager Bath Sports and Leisure Centre
Negative experience: Be really careful booking important or costly activities. If there are any issues at all you will struggle to contact anyone by mail or phone and even on the main desks there are usually very young staff only and no-one often who can take ownership of problems. If it all goes without hitch then its a great facility but if anything at all goes wrong you are on your own. I would be very wary about booking party/events here again. It's just too costly and stressful.
Negative experience: It's just dirty & needs a good clean. Toilets always smelly over spilling bins & very un hygienic. Pool dirty & way too busy & it's about time Bath Council put some of there money into it! Bath Council shame on you!
