Positive experience: Some of the best staff at any gym I've been to. Alwie, Noah, Janel, Mark, Max, Taz, Connie and Mohammed are always happy to help with a smile and encouragement. Their classes are challenging, comprehensive, and fun. They always take the time to answer questions or demonstrate proper form and modifications for movements. The place is clean and the equipment is well maintained. My only complaints would be: 1. a lack of belts, straps, chalk, and equipment like a hacksquat, and 2. A slightly pricier selection in the vending machines

Fantastic experience: Great gym with a large range of equipment. Gyms can be sometimes intimidating but staff here (special shout out to Connie!) are always super approachable, friendly and helpful.

Negative experience: Been coming to this gym since they opened the site, perfect when they first opened and all I can say now is that the gym progressively gotten worse over the years. Cleanliness went down the drain and the members attending are lazy as hell. No one actually cleans up or puts their weights away apart from the personal trainers. PureGym should ban these people for good for not putting their weights away. With all the mess, this hinders people’s performance having to go through weights under weights under weights just to find the right one, PUREGYM, PLEASE BAN THESE TIME WASTING PEOPLE, YOUR ORIGINAL GYM GOERS ARE NOW MOVING TO ANYTIME FITNESS AROUND THE CONER FROM TCR BEC YOUR STANDARDS HAS DROPPED SO MUCH

However we know that at busier times, weights are not always returned and our team complete regular re-sets of the gym. We understand that this is sometimes frustrating for our members, and it is included within our Gym Rules that members should return weights after use. Anybody witnessed leaving equipment out of place will be spoken to by our Gym Team. Negative experience: Broken lockers and theft. A person beside me commented that his locker was damaged, though it was fine when he first put the lock - suspected someone attempted to forcibly open it. My cash in wallet was also gone and the gym needs to step up security with better lockers.

Negative experience: First time using this gym, as Pure Gym closed Great Portland Street. What a nightmare! So many damaged lockers in the changing room but saw other padlocked lockers so left my stuff as usual. Came back after my workout and my locker had been broken into! All my money stolen from my wallet and a credit card. The lockers at pure gyms in general are a joke and so easy to lever open. Signs should warm people about regular thefts if they are a problem and tell people to keep valuables in the pockets in the gym itself. Will NEVER use this Pure Gym again.
Hi Gary, thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We are equally as disappointed when, from time to time, things go wrong and equipment has to be placed out of order. Regular maintenance checks are undertaken, and any issues identified are escalated to engineers straight away. Sometimes, there may be a small wait whilst engineers attend to fix any issues, but we endeavour to resolve these as soon as possible. If you have any concerns about specific pieces of equipment in your gym, please notify staff on site as soon as you can. Thanks, PureGym
Negative experience: Okay puregym. Nice location in central London but very dirty, 90% of the men’s lockers do not work / have been broken into meaning even if you bring your own padlock there’s a strong chance there won’t actually be a locker that you can securely lock your belongings away into. Can’t really work out here knowing that there’s a high likelihood that the locker I use will be broken into/the locker isn’t secure enough. Mens changing room often far too hot and also very small. Weights area is weirdly played out, but often suffers in peak time 6pm - 7pm when there’s overcrowding. Main issue is the lockers - can’t be that hard for them to bulk fix 100 locks can it?

Fantastic experience: Pure Gym Warren Street is an excellent gym, and I couldn’t recommend it more. The facilities are always tidy and clean, which makes working out there a pleasure. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the staff are all incredibly friendly and welcoming. Special shoutout to the Assistant General Manager, Alwie, who always goes above and beyond to make everyone feel at home. He’s super friendly, approachable, and always happy to help if you need to find equipment or have any questions.

Positive experience: Very handy that it’s 24 hours. Good selection of equipment and good value for money. However, the place is in desperate need of a deep clean, particularly dust, from the moment you walk in you can see the place hasn’t been properly cleaned in years. The walls by the cardio machines haven’t been touched since I’ve been going (2 years) and the all resistance equipment have grime on them. The changing rooms aren’t great but not terrible for a budget gym.

Negative experience: The gym is extremely unorganized and crowded. The weights are not easy to get to, parts of the gym are leaking or closed off. Would not recommend. They do have a lot of different equipment but not worth it even due to the price

Negative experience: I joined the gym because it was near my work place. But I was having trouble accessing it. On multiple occasions, I encountered a problem when I try to enter. After entering my PIN, the first door of the pod opens, and I proceed inside, but the second door fails to open. This has happened to be 6-7 times in a month, I contacted them online and also tried reaching out to manager, but I never heard back from them. What's the point of paying when I can't access gym more than half the time? Highly disappointed, just wasted my money.

Fantastic experience: It's clean, it's opened 24/7 so that's convenient for me. Just had one awful experience with someone who calls himself a trainer but everything else and everyone else is fab, even the manager, don't know him personally but it seems he's big on customer service which I absolutely love.
Positive experience: Started going to this gym a few weeks ago and really enjoying it. They have a good range of machines and utilised the space really well. The ladies locker room is clean and no bad smells. The few staff members I have interacted with are super friendly and had no issues with other gym goers either. Really enjoying this gym. Leg press is a bit squeaky which gave me and my friend a little giggle. :D

Fantastic experience: Been going to this gym for a while now and I can say this gym is one of the best I've been to. Convenient near the tube station, pleasant and great atmosphere ,always clean and tidy. The people working there are very friendly and helpful. I've been having PT sessions with Mark Balazsik for the last few months too and it has been a delight to workout with him . He is always there helping me even the days I think I can't make it and pushes me to extents I didn't know I could achieve. Sometimes I even think he believes more in me than I do for myself and I think that's beautiful. I'm very satisfied with my progress because of him!!! 1000/10 would recommend both the gym and Mark!!!!

Negative experience: The gym is ok for the price. However, the mens bathroom STINKS. I do not blame the cleaner, I blame the plumbing system. You will walk into the changing room and your nose gets terrorised by a smell so foul breathing becomes difficult. Attempting to mouth breath does not help as you can almost taste it. The management of puregym should invest some money into making it so the pipes are clean again and everything is unblocked. Also the power racks need safeties. I do not know what budget cuts were introduced such that we are unable to have safeties.

Negative experience: The staff is awful. I was waiting for more than 30 minutes before the staff come out. The first 10 minutes, someone coming out but he refused to help me saying someone else will help me. After the next 20 minutes somebody coming out and he just said "you can looked online". He only spoke to me less than 20 seconds. My 30 minutes just get wasted. HIGHLY NOT RECOMENDED

Fantastic experience: I'm trainning at Pure Gym Tottenham Court Road with the Personal Trainer Mark Balazsik for more than 4 months now and all I can say is that FINALLY I found the right person to make me love moving my body. Mark is a professional that is driven by his own example. He is patient, atentive, a great listener and will always take in consideration your needs. He is also VEGAN and that's one of the things I respect in him most! He is the best example for me of a healthy, balanced life with mindful choices not onky for himself but for the planet also. Negative experience: The Gym trainers are nice and friendly. The equipment it self is Good as I never have issues with waiting for equipment as well. But the gym itself is very dirty. Seems like there's no cleaner who cleans the gym regularly. There are mouse in the gym and no one is bothered about it, no surprise as bits of food you can find in gym. Not to mention showers, Mirrors, locker room is dirty as well. People go to gym to maintain a healthy life style and cleaning should be the least of a customer's concern and the location is central so standards are expected much higher.

Negative experience: Always too warm and humid in there. Hard to workout sometimes. Needs a good air conditioner.

We provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based upon size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored. On occasion, we can get faults on our ventilation and AC systems which is normal. When this happens, there is a process in place to ensure we arrange for our contractors to attend, investigate and resolve the faults and return the systems back to full working order within a timely manner. You can approach the Gym Manager in the gym or leave a comment in the feedback box as this is regularly reviewed and will be taken into consideration for updates and improvements, or you can contact Member Services. Fantastic experience: I approached Mark for some advice one evening while training and he was very helpful and suggested to show him how I perform my exercises. Was able to correct my technique on several exercises that I was incorrectly performing. Very knowlegable and professional PT!

Negative experience: I approached to the gym just to get info but in order to get in you need a code which obviously I don't have it as I was in there only to ask and see the gym from inside. Second I asked a random guy for help if he could contact someone working in there and I could heard the lady saying I'm sorry I can't I'm working with a client, she did not bother to look at me , which I thought that was rude then the guy have to come outside which I don't like to bother anyone I feel bad for him but thanks for trying to get help me. Then the button to contact customer service but nobody cares .. another guy told me who was the person in charge but even me see him through the glass he did not bother to approach and he was randomly talking with everyone and laughing.... the gym was fully packed of people, the lockers basically just behind to the entrance ... and too many machines in same location ..as I said too packed with people and machines ...I guess they do me a favour not coming outside

Negative experience: Being going there 5/6times a week for a year now. Not a bad gym small e well done but it is very dirty. Showers, bathroom I got fungus on my skin everywhere because I used to take a shower there after the work out. Please improve the cleaning of the gym/showers and changing rooms benches and lockers are super dirty as well. Also WiFi and internet connection not working properly. Missing In some parts.. Sorry but for the fungus is 1star

Fantastic experience: One of the best Puregyms I have been too: + Well spaced out + Lots of machines + Usually not too busy + Very clean + Staff are friendly and maintain the gym well + Air con is perfect Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a gym in the area. Well priced and much much better than the Puregym in Camden Town.

Negative experience: I have been with Pure Gym TCR for over a year now. I was enjoying all the classes and instructors and it is very disappointing to see that some of the best classes (Step - Zumba - Pilates - Yoga) with external instructors, which were sold out every week are now charged extra. It is a shame to add an extra cost to these classes when they are clearly super popular and only giving 2-weeks’ notice to the gym members. Please do reconsider as many people already thinking to go to another gym due to these extremely unconscious decisions.

Negative experience: I have been frequenting this gym for several months now, and I feel compelled to leave a review. Overcrowded, does not have enough equipment for all the people who frequent it, the only good time to work out is at the weekend during off-peak hours. Poor care of the gym, poor hygienic conditions in the toilets, this is also due to the fact that there are people with poor personal hygiene and little civic education. Very cold air conditioning, even in winter, so much so that I had neck problems. Non-existent staff. There is no connection to 3,4,5G, Wi-Fi is only for the staff. In short, if I were not poor I would go elsewhere. I do not recommend it!

Negative experience: They’ve removed free classes such as Zumba so you have to pay £4 on top of membership. Disgusting.

Positive experience: This pure gym is on route from work from Tottenham. Location: This pure gym is conveniently located 2 minutes away from the warren street tube station and right next to Lidl if you want to pop in and shop after a gym session! Equipment: The gym equipment isnt the most extensive. There is also one smith machine, two power racks, and three squat racks. Since space is lacking you can be located really close to other people working out! Peak times: The gym is not as busy as some of the other Puregyms. You may need to queue for 5-10 minutes for a machine around afternoon peak time from 5-7pm, depending on what training you need to do. Classes: personally have not been toa class but the studio space is quite small.

Fantastic experience: There are many PureGym but this one is spacious and really good.
Positive experience: Really convenient being 24 hours. There is a noticable lack of gym etiquette compared to other gym chains, the staff don't seem to mind but everything I need is there. Peak times the gym is packed like all other gyms really. There's a flavoured vitamin B water machine that adds £3 or so to your membership which is well worth the money.

Fantastic experience: Spacious and well equipped. One of the best Pure Gym branches that I have visited. Members are generally friendly, with a few holding up some machines due to they endless scrolling on social media. Friendly Pure Gym team. Good ratio of men and women giving the place a sense of a safe environment for everyone to enjoy regardless of their gender or sexual orientation

Positive experience: I've only been during quiet times so no idea about the peak hours, but has good quality, clean equipment. Everything you'd expect from a standard gym and a good location for me. Theres nothing particularly special about the gym but it is better imo than Fitness First on TCR, though no pool.. but is waay cheaper. There's no fixed weight Z bars which I prefer to use for tendinitis.

Fantastic experience: Excellent Trainers! Max Ramirez, a master of the craft, knows everything about fitness/weight training, but also is a splendid *teacher*. As a professor in higher ed for 35 years, I can attest, this guy is a real mentor as well as a fitness pro. You'll learn proper, safe technique in kick-a workouts. Acquire life-lasting fitness skills. I could not recommend Max more highly.

Positive experience: Pros: • Clean, good-sized gym with plenty of equipment • Open 24 hours • Really quiet off-peak (maybe due to location) Cons: • Sign up process was appalling. Screen didn’t work and nobody responded to the help request. App wasn’t working and emails for support contained broken links. Couldn’t have been any worse. • Music is loud which would be fine if it weren’t for the unreasonable amount of adverts. Either you need to have loud or soundproof headphones to block it out. • Making people pay for weighing scales is petty. • Could do with more frequent sorting. Really common to not be able to find weights or attachments as they’re scattered around. My 4 stars reflects the cost being low for a zone 1 gym in London. Edit: they now have audio advertising on both the radio/music and now from the LED screens. It’s horrible. I reduced my review to 3 stars.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoy coming to this gym, especially the classes with Shannen and Steph. Lots of different classes throughout the day. Plenty of equipment available and there’s always a free treadmill when I need one. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Positive experience: Gym is great. Lot of space, kind attitude, cleanliness in high level, lot of machines and free weights. In some moments when there are lot of members, weight lifting bars are too short and no dip belt available.

Positive experience: Good gym - would be even better with a few more Olympic bars. Makes no sense to have expensive racks and floor space sitting unused because of a lack of barbells, which are much cheaper.

Positive experience: Pretty standard PureGym. Has 5 squat racks, about 10 benches. Can get very crowded at peak times and it is VERY hard to find free weights and plates because people just throw them wherever they feel like and staff - despite their efforts - can’t keep up. I think it’s a couple groups that are behind this so staff should consider suspending the people leaving plates all ove.

But this does fluctuate throughout the day and member's can use their member's area to view how many people are in the gym and plan their visit. It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this. Thanks, PureGym

Fantastic experience: Fantastic Personal Training - Ash Atour I signed up to PureGym a year ago wanting to build some muscle mass and lean up. I initially wanted a trainer for 3 months to kick start my fitness journey. After working with Ash For 2 weeks, I knew he was the real deal. Fast forward 1 year and we are still getting results. I recommend his services if anyone is looking for a highly qualified, experienced coach.

Negative experience: Worst gym ever been. The gym runs without stuff. The classes are poor. There is no internet connection, there is a “wifi”. But most importantly there is none working there besides the independent personal trainers.

Positive experience: Gym is ok. Every time I have attended the Tottenham Court road gym. I have come out with a really bad sore throat. To the point where I have lost my voice to speak and can't attend work. It has happened on several occasions. The air conditioner is blasted high, even during the winter.

Positive experience: Been going here since it opened! Large space full of various types of equipment. Astro turf area with kettle bells and squat rack. Machines and free weights areas too. Large studio area, but LED lights have been broken a while in there. I love the layout of the gym as a whole - would recommend to anyone from beginner to advanced

Negative experience: Why have the cleaning stations been reduced? Covid is still here, it feels dirty and unsafe to have less cleaning facilities to wipe down equipment.

Following the Government’s decision to lift many of the Covid-19 restrictions, which has seen the law change in England, PureGym has relaxed parts of its TrainSafe protocols in England including guidance to wear masks and legally imposed capacity restraints. We always have and will continue to follow Govt and UKActive guidelines. We are retaining key elements of our TrainSafe protocols including an enhanced cleaning regime, contactless entry, guidance on respecting personal space and our equipment will retain good distancing.
