Negative experience: Every time I decide to go, the price is always changing, and you can't even check the price, since they don't have a reliable calling system, or website that can tell you the price. Very disappointed This is for the Pool! Edit: I have also experienced very rude female staff (not being sexist) as the male staff I have experienced are very caring, and conscious, whilst other staff are very careless, and rude to me and my kids. The Chlorine amount in the Pool is also a problem. Note: This is my experience, your experience may be different, if they change.

But don’t get the junior better flex if you have a job or an education as I have been refused entry as it is not In between 3-5pm which was not listed on the membership when I joined. Nor does it say on the app. This is also the first time I have been refused in my time going there- all after 5pm.

Fantastic experience: The climbing wall is amazing! Pool is fine and changing rooms are clean with good hairdryers. I also like the fact that there's a sauna and steam room on the pool side! Extra treat after your swim. Pool gets busy on a Sunday morning with lessons taking up nearly half the pool.

Negative experience: I went to swimming pool with my kids and it was just awful. The chlorine was way too much and on top of that on winter time the showers were cold water. They don’t have warm water at all. And when I reached home my son starts complaining of pain and with urge of going to toilet to many times to urinate. And that small of chlorine it was so strong on my skin…. And I can say that it’s second time when I went there. First time was last year and the problem with the shower was exactly the same. Bad managemnet….

Positive experience: Visited the climbing wall, best one I have seen. Climbs for beginners and experts, including simulation rock face for that added realism.

Positive experience: Nice venue although looks a little shabby on the outside, weeds growing around the grounds. More attention to detail required outside. Only went into the bouldering and rock climbing area, very busy. Polite and friendly staff. Chill out area in the middle to recharge before climbing again. Thus room is well worth a visit. There is a gym and swimming pool as far as I'm aware but cannot confirm this.

Negative experience: The female staff on the pool area were so rude to us. Though she treated everyone friendly, it was just we guys that she was approaching very rudely like a double standard. I’m pretty sure she has a racist mind. Never had an exeperience like this before. Felt so bad knowing these kind of people still exist in this kind of respectful organisations. I’ve been there several times for badminton and other games though all staffs were friendly and respectful. Still could’nt believe how these kind of racist people got in this organisation.

Negative experience: Had a tragic experience with the lady staff in pool area. Always staring at us guys and tries to come up with unnecessary issues. Felt like an absolute racist. The male staff was very polite and good. Do not want to go there while she’s in. Hate that place if she’s in. Though other areas and staffs are nice, friendly and helpful. Got a nice badminton area.

Negative experience: Do not get a membership here! Rubbish opening hours on a weekend for what you pay for and the sauna & steam room are barely open on a Saturday. The gym equipment tends to be out of order and there used to be a weight room downstairs which they have now closed. You are now left with a small overcrowded gym area, what a waste of space. This is a joke! Much better gyms elsewhere. This place was well maintained before Better took over. Update: they've made the already small gym even smaller by adding a female only area LMAO

Positive experience: Helpful and pleasant checking in staff. I had a good swim in the swim for women category. Will be visiting this particular venue again.

Positive experience: 3 stars because water in swimming pool was cold, not very cold but it took a moment to get used to it. The worst was shower! Water was so cold I could not stay under shower at all!!

Negative experience: Single file swimming in half a pool. Uclan dominate mornings with plenty of room for them. Evenings are swimming lessons so full paid members are forced to jostle for position and overtake in tight lanes only to be met by people swimming the other way. Pool times have been reduced also, but membership costs remain unchanged or no discount offered for reduced service. Changing rooms aren't well cleaned, chewing gum stuck on cubical changing room clothes hooks. No locks on several doors changing room doors. Showers have broken locks and some showers haven't worked for several months.

Positive experience: Been years since I have been in started taking little one to swimming lessons. He was freezing in the pool.

Negative experience: Took my daughter here for swimming lessons. None of the showers were working properly the water was freezing too. Very disappointed.

Positive experience: Only been here for swimming. Good teachers. Good service from desk staff Also has a play area for kids which is good.

Positive experience: Showers still cold and dont like way baths shut tues and Thursday mornings when we only go for swimming even though we have to pay for all amenities

Negative experience: This relates to the swimming pool and changing "facilities". I won't be returning. Not clean. Had to pay 20p non refundable for the lockers. Just not a good experience.

Fantastic experience: Isaac Frank's Kickboxing classes are great for adults, kids and teenagers

Negative experience: This place has gone sharply downhill since better took it over. The climbing wall is no longer included in membership and at £14.50 a time to climb, it's cheaper to drive my family to stockport to climb. If you call the phone number the call centre that answers will not under any circumstances transfer you to the branch to ask questions about pool opening. Under duress they will call west view on your behalf to see if the pool is open as 100% of the time the timetable doesn't match the app and they cannot clarify which is correct in the call centre. They guess if you don't pressure them to call the branch. I had membership for a month. Never again!

Positive experience: Decent climbing wall, with several autobelays and a spacious bouldering hall with lots of we'll set problems

Fantastic experience: Went here for the first time in years for a few games of badminton. Nice to see they've refurbished and upgraded the place since me having swimming lessons here 23 years ago. Almost nothing has changed, but everything has. I look forward to visiting again for more badminton and seeing what else they have to offer

Negative experience: My review is for the gym and sauna/steam rooms. I’ve been a member for around 8 months and all I’ve experienced is a poorly staffed centre, unclean changing areas, two broken hair dryers(apparently on order for over 2 weeks now) sauna or steam not working correctly or switching of which is inconvenient when you have to go downstairs and ask staff (if you can find any) to reset the timers! While I’ve been here at least 6 staff have left and Only a couple replaced (I see low morale with some of the staff) Gym equipment is broken and not repaired some have been out of order since I joined. No Air con they rely on 3 domestic fans to cool the gym which is in 3 areas. The only good thing they don’t have many members so no waiting for anything! Members I talked with have left for other gyms. This gym isn’t the cheap either!

Positive experience: Excellent polite customer service and fair priced activities. Awaiting swimming classes to start soon. Just hope they introduce more sporting activities.

Negative experience: Absolute shame because when we initially arrived the place seemed really nice. Other than having to wait an hour to use the pool because it was ‘ladies only’, even though there was me, my 3 year old daughter and her Aunty. Can’t say it was a huge deal, as they had a children’s play area and my daughter enjoyed that. I was even considering joining as a member and made enquiries about the cost of memberships/what classes were available. However, the experience in the pool was shocking. They allowed boys/men into the pool early, when two females in the pool said they’d prefer it if they didn’t, this was ignored and they were allowed in anyway. Me and another swimmer were both hit by a ball and constantly had to stop swimming to allow the boys to move out of the way/to avoid injuring ourselves whilst swimming. Both me and the other swimmer raised our concerns and these were ignored by the lifeguard on duty this afternoon. I initially approached another member of staff because I was that unhappy/was concerned for my safety and felt the lifeguard in charge wasn’t doing her job correctly. She then explained that she was due to come off shift and walked me over to the lifeguard where I had to then explain myself all over again. I said how I wasn’t happy because I didn’t feel safe/my three year old daughter isn’t confident in the future water and naturally, large groups of boys throwing balls around and doing ‘cannonballs’ into the pool wasn’t helping. This is also the first time I’ve been swimming since breaking my foot and wasn’t feeling overly confident myself so this just added to how stressed I felt. When I mentioned the fact that she allowed one of the boys to do a cannonball, not only denied this, but became confrontational and kept repeating that she never allowed that and even went as far as saying ‘we’ll check the cameras’, however, these were never checked. I don’t appreciate paying to use facilities, to not only not be able to use them properly, but to have my concerns disregarded/ignored and to also be called a liar! And when I said so ‘shall I just leave’ and be told ‘that’s up to you’ is totally unacceptable. Safe to say given my experience today I will NOT be returning. Avoid.

Fantastic experience: First time in Any Leisure Centre or Pool since 1983! Tonight ( June 2022) I attended my 1st class of Aquarobics. I was very nervous but The Instructor and another Staff Member put me at my ease straightaway and were very understanding, patient and encouraging. The other ladies also in the class were lovely too and very encouraging also. I'm certainly going again next week now I've realised what I've been missing and how beneficial it really is to do gentle exercise in the water. The Centre itself is very good and appears to have everything and for all ages. Good lockers to keep your personal belongings safe and a small But sufficient cafe.

Negative experience: The gym needs some TLC spending on it far too hot to do any proper training. Broken equipment never seems to get fixed . Cloakroom ,toilets needs cleaning properly . Pool are spa etc seem OK. Staff look bored but very pleasant most of the time .

Negative experience: I would give a 0 star if I could , Wouldn’t recommend to anyone I was paying a set fee for the gym for both branches in Preston , when I was trying to book one of the branches started charging me a fee of £7.80 only to be told they changed it all and that I can only use one branch (this is after Iv been using both branches ) when I was using both sites depending on where I was at the time (due to work ) also my partner wanted to try out a daily pass they wanted £10 for the pass , so we gave cash and they said we don’t accept cash ! Secondly the changing room and showers are absolutely disgusting , dirty and smelly , hair , bottles , dirty in the floor , toilets smell and dirty half the weights missing in the gym , can’t find anything No staff upstairs to be seen for help Well over priced for the low standards you’re better off going to a different gym with similar prices

Positive experience: Been here a good few times now to do the wall climbing (autobelay) and the bouldering. Staff are always polite and helpful, can hire equipment if needed like a harness and climbing shoes and the prices are good. I've even recommended here to a few of my friends now, such a good place!

Positive experience: Decent bouldering and roped section.but I think £12.50 is too expensive and won't be going again. Our local wall in stockport is £8.i think a tenner would be plenty. I know you've spent money on expanding but from what the climbers here are saying-it would be far busier if you dropped your prices back in line with the other climbing gyms.

Positive experience: As the centre has just reopened and with limited numbers allowed due to covid, it’s very difficult to give a full review. At the moment in the gym most of the machines are either out of order or just not plugged in ( no spare cable & sometimes no socket nearby). Staffing levels are low (they are recruiting) however the staff that are there are very friendly & helpful. The swimming pool again has limited numbers & limited times available (again due to staff shortage) & the small pool has been filled in. The steam room & sauna are now situated on top of the small pool area & this makes it easier to switch between the pool & sauna/steam rooms. Overall I would say if your not expecting much then you won’t be disappointed. If you are a casual user of the gym & can work around the swimming times then like me it is Adequate, if you are a serious gym bunny then at the moment this is not the place for you.

Negative experience: Shame , They have no classes and even the On Demand Virtual are programmed so there are no attendees. Refuses to run them when asked-...Pure Shambles!!!! We Deserve BETTER!!!!

Negative experience: Was much better before these clowns better took over. Terrible app. Expensive prices for non tutor classes a drop down projector? You need a teacher in the class to make sure you're doing the exercises correctly and safely. £10 for a swim jog on. With prices like that you'll be shut soon. Charity my arse. Much cheaper options online.

Fantastic experience: The climbing wall is great for lead and has some decent feature routes to get you strong.The people and staff are friendly and leave you to get on with the climbing .The climbing wall and building is quite run down and has a old look to the place.However te place eis great for meeting and making new friends .Give this place 5 stars and visit as much as you can as the place needs climbers in order for change to happen

Negative experience: Climbing wall: - Bouldering closed until further notice due to worn out mats. - Routes not reset in years. - Unexpectedly closes due to staff shortages. - Good place to learn, especially for courses, but not for the regular climber at the moment. "Better" Need to spend some money to bring it back to the popular place it once was.

Fantastic experience: Staff is nice there, good facilities, nice temperature in the swimming pool. Not the best infrastructure, and the pool is quite messy sometimes regarding the slow/medium/fast lanes, but the centre has a great value for the price. For me, the best thing is the membership: there’s no joining fee, and you don’t have to register yourself for 3 months or a year upfront, you can just pay yearly or monthly, leaving whenever you want. All info is very clear on their website too.

Negative experience: Very poorly managed pool timetables meaning adult access for fitness is almost impossible. Management unresponsive to queries. Climbing wall neglected and poorly maintained to the extent that areas are roped off due to safety being compromised. Two stars because at least the pool is generally clean.

Positive experience: I only use the climbing wall at West View but it is really becoming neglected. The route setting has taken a dive and there has been very little investment in years. If you want to lead climb then take a head torch as the lights haven't been working for quite some time

Fantastic experience: Been going swimming for a few months now but only once a week. Staff are superb can't fault the place.

Negative experience: Locks missing off the changing room doors for months now, as if they have no interest in peoples privacy. Ceiling tiles missing throughout the building, some tiles are hanging and could potentially drop at any point. Exposed holes in the roof in the spectators area. Run down is an understatement, dont take your kids swimming here!!!!!

Negative experience: Web site suggests open untill 10, However I went at 7:45 it was closed Unable to book classes this week due to cancelations. I have been unable to determine what is open and when that may be. Poor performance

Negative experience: Update: Bouldering is shut until further notice due to lack of care for the mats. The Climbing wall has a range of Lead, Top Rope, Bouldering and two auto-belay. Great for beginners, relaxed atmosphere and people are super Friendly!
