Fantastic experience: Nice gym, pool and Sauna and more. People are very pleasant. A little more expensive than other gyms, but has more facilities, so worth it if you use them all.
Negative experience: Nothing short of awful. 1. There’s been a machine broken for months and a lot of the machines don’t work properly, some shake!! 2. Always full of children on machines but not using them. They take photos, chat and muck about. Today almost knocking my husband off his machine!! It’s more like a playground and never machines available 3. There’s screens blurry. Since the change of outdoors, can’t see anything 4. Our passes never work to open the gates as you come in. Time to change this system it’s rubbish and doesn’t work. Staff blame you and are rude Basically pay a fortune for a load of rubbish

Negative experience: My membership lapsed. Have been paying for one class since March. Today when 'booking in' the receptionist questioned my booking and payment and 'seemingly accused' me of booking under someone else's name. I asked if I could sort after the class as I was just in time...she pretty much said 'no- you 'aren't a member' and 'it looks like you've booked under someone with the same name'. Kept me waiting 'til I was late..even though I asked 2 or 3 times if I could sort after class. But no... After class I went to clarify...I could pay the full amount as I have been doing for 6 months now...I did not have to pat membership (unless I wanted a discount)... What was that about? Wasted my time, made me late, no 'sorry', no explanation... Unnecessary "tin-god" attitude!! 9.05 Sunday!
Fantastic experience: Very friendly local gymn. Find staff helpful and wish there was a sauna!
Negative experience: You get a lot of nice staff there however there is a few rude and obnoxious members of staff, ranging from telling you to leave the weight section to being shouted at to leave the cable section despite being told by others you are aloud. Not a gym, is a leisure centre, therefore limited machines, meaning cardio machines is clearly the main priority. Needs a better variety of equipment/machines as you have to be over the age of 16 to use the weights, despite not being aloud to use the 1-10kg weights off the weight section. Very crowded at peak time, hard to get a workout in. If you’re below the age of 16, you have to book in advance to get a session in, if not there’s no way of getting in. On top of this, everybody else can go to the gym at this time, meaning it is very unfair for the under 16 year olds. This happens to be a two hour slot, other than that you can’t go to the gym. If you are a young teenager trying to build muscle as your main goal, go to another gym when you are 16 which prioritises weights and well being, if not invest in a small set of dumbbells, a bench and a barbell as you’d be better of this way. Other than that, decent facilities except some lockers being broken off the hinges and struggle to open. On top of this, the membership is extremely overpriced what it has to offer. Whereas other gyms are significantly cheaper, offering a larger gym, more weights, benches and machines. On top of this, often have sparring mats for judo and all sorts of mma clubs, therefore offering many different types of mma clubs throughout the week for a very good price. For the membership price, I’d rather spend my wage giving it out to people for free, might get something better out of it.
Positive experience: Great place, staff seem good and the facilities are really good. Parking is free for 5 hours if you use the facilities, you need to however share you details in reception
Negative experience: When searching on the internet waves leisure centre displays a price of £5.90 yet when I arrived for a swim I was charged £7.30 why? Apparently waves in sea road is freedom leisure website I felt like I'd overpaid and duped. The facilities are not that clean it is£1 for a locker and 20 pence to go in the hairdryers Not a great experience

Negative experience: Have now decided to create a rule where kids aren't aloud into swimming in more than groups of 2 which is pretty stupid considering it is a place to have fun.
Negative experience: As a suggestion maybe don't make customers that are waiting to use the Barclays service wait in the same queue as general customers wanting to go swimming! Nearly ended up missing an appointment because of this! ♂️♂️ Please sort this out so that other people aren't inconvenienced in the same way.
Fantastic experience: This is a great pool to take my grandson. My brother lives in Rusty and we always swim here when we visit. Cheap clean with friendly staff who really help. This has a great community feel without moaning long distance splashers. A welcome difference from other places. Keep up the good work Arun leisure. You're making swimming fun for kids and adults alike. It's not all about elite Olympians everyone!!
Negative experience: Very very disappointed Tried to take my son swimming but would not let me in due to not being a member. On the website it states open to all. Very disappointing for my son and a waste of time. Perhaps they should put something on website to notify everyone Waste of time
Fantastic experience: Great place, staff friendly a great atmosphere…. This is full most of the time during school holidays,with children, having a healthy, happy and enjoyable occasion. With separate times for adults to also enjoy a healthy swim and sauna or a gymnasium, with numerous other activities like badminton, bowls, young children with mums and dads… There’s just so many different activities, too many, to mention, catering for everyone’s enjoyment…
Positive experience: Toilets need attention! Ever since we have had to share car park, we have trouble finding a space to park. Could they have a separate area for members? Just a suggestion !
Fantastic experience: Real nice looking place and the swimming is great .
Positive experience: The facility is fine, several occasions the smell inside changing rooms is terrible. One of the staff members was rude, my daughter left her access card at home one day and when we arrived I told the girl at the till sorry but we have forgotten the access card, she said “ you can pass today but make sure you bring it next time with attitude” not polite.

Negative experience: Went this morning with my husband and 2 year old to swimming pool. This was the first and last time when we where there. Nonone has explained that there will swimming classes, i was i change room and my husband went to pool with little one they came to the front where the swim classe was and instructor told to go further to pool, later I came to pool and was playing with little one, we went to walk on the rump under the water,I didn't know that we can't use it so instructor told as do not walk there and she was quite rude to me, I apologised her. Later the rump and toys was very attractive to my little one and she was going there and I was straight after my little one to take her to other side of the pull and I saw the instructor rolled her eyes at me and she started shouting to us. That was very rude, I took my little one and we left the pool. I didn't enjoy pool at all and this destroyed all day and the first swimming experience with family. Also spoke with manager about the situation but he was on the instructor side. So decided to leave the feedback for the families who planning to go there keep you little one chained to you and don't go to other side of the swimming pool or you will be shouted.

Fantastic experience: Just had 5 swim lessons with Sue Ritchie from the Swim School. Have never swum crawl before and at 75 years old I wanted to try. Sue was extremely patient and encouraging. I would highly recommend Sue to anyone learning to swim or wanting to improve their technique.

Positive experience: universal problem for anyone wanting to swim at good pace is the other pool users are not willing to observe the fast medium slow lane signs. swam this week at the wave and i would say in the region of 90% of people in the 3 lanes were barely moving and were there just to keep there joints moving. it needed, as happens at the bognor pool,for the pool staff to regulate the swimmers as they will not do so themselves.if the lanes serve no purpose why waste time putting them in?

Positive experience: The centre itself is ok although I only use the swimming pool and aqua aerobics classes. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and I’m pleased they’ve taken on board feedback to get locker key bands replaced and conduct a deep clean of the wet changing rooms. The aqua aerobics classes are good although I wish there was a membership option just for swim and aqua classes without having to get the full membership (I appreciate there is an option for reduced rate class fees but I wanted an option where I’m not paying each time I book an aqua class or go swimming). The biggest issue for me is a select few other swimmers who behave as though they own the pool and bully anyone who dares swim in what they seem to feel is their designated area. Unfortunately if this continues I’ll reluctantly have to cancel my membership and use Splashpoint instead. I go swimming for fitness, not to get bullied by grown women.

Negative experience: System is awful. I’ve been try to call all week and different times of the day and no one answers the phone. I was visiting my nan for a few days and I thought I’d book my little one to swim unfortunately you can’t book anything online (we are in 2024 and no online booking system) it says to call to book but no one answers the phone. Tried my luck and went down at 9.30 this morning there was no que or phone ringing so unsure why the phone isn’t being answered. I was told there is no space for swimming you need to join a wait list which is a bit of paper with names wrote down and I asked how long was the wait and she said I don’t know it depends how long people swim for I asked if I could walk along the beach until it’s my term and she said no as I wouldn’t know when it’s my turn. I couldn’t wait in a cafe with a 1 year old for an unknown amount of time otherwise he would be extremely bored. It’s not the receptionist fault it’s the awful booking system which I’ve seen numerous complaints about and the phones not being answered but no one is yet to address this expect ‘we will pass it on to the manager’ who is clearly doing NOTHING. If you could book online and had session instead of people being able to swim for however long they like from which I gather they can as the receptionist said the wait will depend on how long people swim for. This is an awful system and looking at the reviews is a common issue that people complain about and is yet to address. How to we go about taking this further as clearly the manger takes none of this issue aboard as people have been moaning for months it’s outrageous and I would imagine the reception have to deal with the backlash of this.

Fantastic experience: My 'Go to' gym! Go here every day for open gym equipment (row, tread mill, elliptical, free weights, captains Chair...) and classes (Les Mill Pump, Body Combat, Attack, Conditioning, pilates/Yog/stretch, Spin...). Great instructors, and a great gym family.

Positive experience: Great local "dot it all" leisure centre, well designed with decent parking (free for Wave users) and lots of activities for all ages including a Gym, pool and spots halls for rackets and basketball etc

Positive experience: £17 for 2 adults, one 4yo and an 18mo to swim, with a 30 minute wait to even get to the changing rooms. The last couple of times we have been, it's just not been an enjoyable experience.
Really sorry to see that you've not had a positive experience and that you have had to wait to access the facilities. There are time when the pool is busy and we have to implement a waiting time and for this we can only apologise for the wait. We hope once you were in that you managed to enjoy some family time together.
Positive experience: Decent gym that caters for mostly everyone, personally I would love to see another couple of lifting platforms added for those who primarily focus on barbell strength training. Imagine if the squat racks and platforms were positioned in the middle of the floor away from mirrors. Having the cable machines by the wall would create space for a third platform. Otherwise not a bad spot

Negative experience: I want to ask about and book sessions at Littlehampton Wave, but they never pick up the phone despite calling at different times of the day and hanging on the call for over 10 minutes at a time. Tried using the website to book with no luck and then used social media to ask about bookings and get the reply, "unfortunately I currently don't have the access to the relevant information. Sorry." Not really sure what more I can do to help me use their facilities and give them my business?

Fantastic experience: Very impressed with how the wave looks now. Been a long time since have come to the wave, went for a kids party which my boy loved and the venue looks very modern and nice
Negative experience: Why do they not let you book for swimming!! Sat and waited 30 minutes for entry to the small pool which could have been avoided if they had a booking system. Sitting here now writing this review with a lot of other frustrated parents with young children waiting to go swimming. It's very poor.

Negative experience: Put your prices on the website. I don't want to put my details in a form to receive a call so I can simply compare prices. I've joined another gym that is transparent about their charges.
Negative experience: I am disappointed with the cleanliness of the showers. Last week, on Thursday, I was taking a shower after the gym, and there were wet wipes on the drain, unfortunately four days later they were still there in the same shower. This is unacceptable. Please introduce greater cleanliness checks.

Negative experience: Cafe closed on a Saturday afternoon! Because of short staff! 5 staff stood around and barely any customers! Madness .. making a coffee isn't exactly taxing on manpower or difficult. Anyone standing around doing nothing could do it!

Signing up for membership they also make it as difficult as humanly possible and prices are also top secret. Trying to contact them is also a mission. But once you're finally a member, it's OK

Fantastic experience: Wonderful well designed clean modern facilities with friendly professional staff throughout. The swimming pools and coaches are all beyond incredible here. Our son has just turned 4 and the coaches have already got him swimming front crawl. The teaching pool is always really warm and is a nice learner friendly depth too. Every teacher has been really friendly, patient and encouraging and have really gone to great efforts to get to know our son and the other children in the group lessons individually which is so lovely! The children all have a wonderful bond with the teachers which gives them the confidence and trust to learn their swimming. The cafe staff are lovely and friendly too and will always take the time to serve you with a smile and ask how your day has been. I really do feel that the standards of Wave do deliver to a very high level comparable to private gyms I’ve been to. Can not recommend enough

Negative experience: Very good pool and facilities but i have cancelled our membership as the facility is blighted by loads of uncontrolled teenage chavs everywhere , my 5 year old was nearly run over by some scumbag on an escooter in the main reception ,tons of young girls with virtually no clothes on apart from bra's who cannot be older than 13 , foul mouthed perm topped boys everywhere , extremely intimidating and not a nice place to relax anymore , no control on the gates as to who goes in and out , they seriously need to tighten up security and discourage large groups of teens and concentrate on making the facility better for paying members , found a used condom in one of the dressing cubicles for god sake.I hate to say it but the Felpham facility is much nicer

Negative experience: Over run with horrendous teenagers on Friday and Saturday evenings , no security bloody awful , have now cancelled membership absolutely appalling , it now the place for the feral teenagers to hang out at night, my little girl was terrified as a load of them were having a massive fight outside the main entrance , until the wave sorts this out and gets rid of the feral teenagers i would say avoid like the plague

Negative experience: I love my swimming, but unfortunately the pool is going down hill. Changing rooms are never clean, rubbish and food on the floor. Round the pool side is black mould. So many shower doors do not have working locks. What are we paying membership for, if these things can not be sorted out. Surely cleaning and maintenance is an important part of running a pool and leisure centre. Seriously thinking of leaving.

Positive experience: Got there a 9.30am but was told very unhelpful staff that it didn't open till 10am so had to stand around in the que with 4 children but once got in was great staff around the pool was professional and helpful
Positive experience: The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was because the cafe was shut so viewing family for two hours was fine with just water but a coffee might have been nice. Place was clean, staff were nice and it was a good family atmosphere. Such a nice outlook towards the sea and no cafe was just a bit disappointing! Closed at 12 so morning visitors are ok but later visitors don't get the same service. Just a shame.
Negative experience: The pool itself is adequate and facilities are fairly clean, overall the building is well presented and the price for swimming was fair. The sauna although quite small is a nice touch and was kept to a reasonable standard. Unfortunately my visit was let down in regards to the poor customer service I received, under the advice of the cashier that the goggles are all 'adult size' the pair I purchased were tiny and didn't work as intended letting in water even after adjustment. After my swim I requested to refund or exchange/credit for them so I could get a different pair but was met with no we don't refund for goggles and there's nothing you can do. Ultimately this has detracted largely from my experience at the wave and I suggest avoiding purchasing anything other than swim time as you'll be met with the same poor standards.

Fantastic experience: Early morning adults only swimming in the main pool before 0900 on weekdays is ideal for me to get my swimming.
Negative experience: The front desk staff never look happy to be there. I wanted to join again since cancelling due to the gym not being worth the money during covid restrictions. The staff then were miserable and after recently wanting to apply again, the staff have yet to improve. There must be somewhere in the application of the role to be hostile, unapproachable and unwelcoming. Decided not to reapply due to this, felt I could never ask a question or for help without feeling like I was bothering the front desk staff.

Negative experience: Joined this place about 3 months ago and already cancelled my membership. Not exactly "adult friendly". Sauna and pool barely accessible due to private classes and you still get charged full membership. Extra charge for sauna in your membership which you can't even get into due to restricted hours. Tried to contact customer service didn't even bother to reply to my email. Guys just care about ripping people of as they cannot afford to pay their electricity bill and publicly lying to their customers about why they were closed. Which they didn't reimburse.

Negative experience: My husband just phoned to ask if the student gym membership offer could also be used by people on benefits, but according to 'Tom' (in memberships), only students are entitled to the offers because "students are always struggling for money". So, obviously if we accept Tom's mindset, then people on benefits live a 'life of riley', and don't require concessions. Over 12 million people in the UK recieve some kind of benefit to get by each month. Such a shame when insensitive people like 'Tom', or the company he respresents, 'Freedom Leisure', make us feel unworthy. Just because we need financial support to assist our family each month, does that mean we are automatically excluded?

Negative experience: As a first time visitor to Wave this morning I was shocked to gave to pay 6.75£ for a senior swim. When I checked my receipt it was for a peak period swim, but is still far in excess that I have paid in the in my previous borough swim pools. However the water was warm.

Positive experience: The pool was great 3degrees warmer would have been nice! Coffee machine in the cafe not working,and the front desk staff could be a bit more forthcoming but otherwise much improved.

Negative experience: Frustrating experience - 3 times they have told my son to tell me to pay for a membership that was set it up as DD. This was paid over the phone when they first requested as it seems that there was "issues with the banks" as they say. Second time, they ask again my son again for payment, I called to sort it out as apparently there were no information about the payment made??? Clearly there are issues with communication between different teams within the organisation which has got nothing to do with the customers. They asked me if a could send an email to sales team with a screenshot of the payment made from my bank - i did - No reply on this this whatsoever. Third time, ask my son again for payment. Called to sort it out Again! First, I don't think my son should be contacted in any way due to issues with payments, either if is/was from my side or their side - they have my contact number and email to address this. In this instance, there are "unknown" issues happening in the organisation that got nothing to do with customers. I have tried each time to collaborate, understand and made payment as soon as they told me that it didn't go out due to some "technical issues"and I was told that was sorted. To place that burden in a child that just wants to go there to enjoy and relax, that is absurd and unacceptable. The only positive comment i have to made is, that i have spoken with one particular lady over the phone and she was very understanding and apologetic for the matter - thank you for making me at ease specially in regards to my son. I have asked if i could made a suggestion to improve the communication within the organisation, as clearly that is the root cause of the problem as payments are being made and there are no notes in their system to confirm that. Please, contact parents to sort issues of such matter, but not the children - they can pass the information only, but that wont sort the issue.

Fantastic experience: Sadly this restaurant gets overlooked as it at end of harbour. We popped in for a drink and were greeted by a lovely waiter. Ĥe brought out a Tapa which was very good. Over our holiday we dropped in for a drink and watch the sunset. The waiter took my husband upstairs to see the sunset but sadly, that part of restaurant not open Will visit on our next trip.
Fantastic experience: My wife and I have been swimming here for the last couple of months. Great staff front of house and there is always cleaning going on. Busy at some times but only to be expected. Locally we won't consider anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Go for kids swimming lessons. 5 hours free registered parking in car park when a member of an activity there. Also a great park close by, everything close to the beach front with a fantastic view of the sea on a clear day
Fantastic experience: My son only goes there for swimming and he loves it. He's also been to the play groups on Mondays and Wednesdays and absolutely loves it! Good price for all morning entertainment for toddlers!

Fantastic experience: Only used the pool but reception staff always helpful, and cafe does Costa Coffee also if your using the facilities you can park for 5 hrs for free as long as you remember to register your car on the terminal the other side of the gates / barriers after you've paid for using the facilities

Fantastic experience: Lovely gym and facilities. Staff are helpful, plus good customer service. Pool looks really inviting. Can't wait to try it all out.
Fantastic experience: Great fitness centre. Can be busy during term time with all the kids swimming lessons going on, however the different range of fitness classes available are great. Instructors are brilliant and other staff members are helpful. Annoying that the cafe closes around 5pm so if you attend a later session then you can't get any hot drinks etc.. Membership prices are fair so I would be happy to recommend
Positive experience: Be aware that if you're paying to use the Wave facilities, you dont have to display a parking ticket. Just reguster your number plate inside. This isnt very well signposted.
Negative experience: Terrible if you need assistance. I randomly had twice the amount that was due direct debited from my account after years of being a member paying DD. Tried contacting membership team, took over a month to resolve after numerous calls and emails. I cancel my membership out of dissatisfaction and they then tell me the last payment is November. They then proceed to take the payment from me for December anyway and 48 hours since a call and email and no reply whatsoever. Terrible terrible terrible service.

Negative experience: Refused reasonable adjustments for disabled children and were rude and belligerent. Parents were given no notice or warning of a change in policy preventing parents from remaining poolside during stage 1 swim lessons. We were told to move to spectator area. I and other parents refused on the grounds we have SEN children who need urgent support and attention at times during lessons. I was mocked by the disgustingly rude and offensive duty manager Jodie despite advising this should be a reasonable adjustment for disabled children and has actually be required by the centre for many years as part of stage 1 swim lesson membership. Jodie spent a great deal of effort rolling her eyes at me, smirking, gesticulating mockingly and generally being as insulting as possible, before stomping off to speak with the general manager. The reception team (who are amazing) knew immediately who had been so rude the moment I told them how I was spoken to, so clearly this individual has displayed similar disrespect and rudeness previously. The centre is now refusing any reasonable adjustment to allow parents of disabled children to remain poolside at the learner pool. Spectator seating is available, however the access is alongside the main pool, where I would not want my child rushing to try to get to me, and I am sadly not capable of vaulting over, or clambering under the metal railings which close off the spectator area from the learner pool. This frustrates our contract with the swim school and so we will sadly have to look elsewhere for lessons and try to get a refund. We are now consulting, along with other impacted parents, with our local MP and the relevant regulators and authorities. If your child is SEN or disabled, please consider going elsewhere. My daughter has been going for 2 years and the wave were notified of all disabilities upon registration, yet have repeatedly failed to update the swim teachers (who change on a weekly basis). My child is, at times, not supervised during lessons, as the teacher is helping other children. Lesson sizes have been creeping up from 5 or 6, to sometimes 11 children - meaning children sometimes only get 5 or 10 minutes of a 30 minute lesson in the pool. We feel very much let down by Littlehampton Wave, and completely taken aback by the utter disdain and offensive behaviour shown by the duty manager Jodie. Customers should be treated with respect and professionalism, whether you agree with them or not. We were not rude and yet I was spoken to like I was an idiot, simply for trying to represent my vulnerable child's needs. Disgusting abuse of position and a major breech of our trust.
Negative experience: The wave believe it is okay to reduce the swim pool temperature, Allow babies and young children to swim in chilly water, as it saves on their energy bills. Such a shame as we really like our swim teacher, Laura, and have enrolled our children there for the past 4 years. These conditions are just not suitable for the children attending lessons, nor can it be healthy on the swim instructors especially with winter approaching.
Fantastic experience: I was a teenager when this was first opened, it used to be the "cool" place to hang out with your mates! A real blast from the past! It's lovely to see that it's still open and not been closed down like a lot of other places! Love It
Positive experience: I'm giving it a three stars as we love swimming and gym but the service at the café is absolutely terrible.. every single time we've used it we have waited such a long time to be served and sometimes the staff leaves as you're standing in the queue .. today I asked the two ladies for a sausage roll.. 30 mins later starving I went to ask what's happening and got told by the manager that they forgot about it .. can't blame the manager as he didn't know and I couldn't complain to the ladies as they both went on a break together!!!
Fantastic experience: I love Aquarobics with Jas. she is so full of fun and so friendly. Her classes are like being at a wonderful, crazy party. We laugh a lot, whilst exercising every part of our bodies. Invigorating. Great reception staff. In fact all the staff are helpful and very professional.
Fantastic experience: We were just in Littlehampton for a week but really enjoyed the use of the gym and the pool and sauna. All the staff were very helpful and good at communicating. Would definitely get a membership if I didn’t live in London
Fantastic experience: Kids always enjoy swimming here, and my son loves the softplay on a Wednesday (term time).
Negative experience: Frustrating experience having arrived with two children with additional needs and told we’d need to come back two hours later due to limited capacity. Upon returning and having arrived early and queued for 15 minutes we were once again refused entry, citing staff shortages in the pool and only 18 swimmers allowed in (we were no. 17 and 18, but as a carer I wasn’t allowed in as I’d have been the 19th. We’ve tried again to attend by checking in advance the pool’s capacity, but no one answers the phone. Staff on the desk talk of poor management and I wholly agree, it’s a shambles.
Positive experience: Was put on a waiting list to get in to swim as staff shortages meant less lifeguards so less swimmers allowed (made sense, was happy to wait). Good clean facilities, lots of cubicles and lockers.

Fantastic experience: This place is a little gem. Took grandsons here to swim and they loved it. Very reasonably priced.
Fantastic experience: Excellent swimming pool and gym facilties. Friendly and smiley young staff who were all helpful and informed. I felt safe during my visit to the pool. I saw the two young lady pool attendants keeping the changing areas clean and sanatised. The young male lifeguard watched attentively the swimmers which added to my feeling of safety . I was very impressed at the standard of efficiency and cleanliness ofl the leisure centre.
Positive experience: Great pool clean and plenty of lockers. The only Problem I find that there are two many lane swimmers in the open swim area of the pool.
Negative experience: I'm am totally not impressed with this place. I have a membership card but can never get in for a swim due to all the swimming schools and the hrs I work and when I with to take my children the small pool is always closed for swimming lessons? When are you open to members.
Positive experience: I think they missed a trick. There is a toddler pool and a large pool but they needed to have a 3rd pool for school lessons and young people with special needs, currently they reduce the large pool for lessons but it makes it difficult to swim properly when it's quite busy. Also, not keen on the open changing areas. Would have like men and women separate and not have lines of school kids marching through. You also have to take off/put on footwear outside the changing area but there are not enough seats. Liked having the music playing leading up to Christmas, it would be nice to have music all year round. It can get a bit boring swimming up and down when you're trying to get fit. The staff are great, very friendly, helpful and respectful.
